i see that some top 20 coins are 10x from its all time high from 8 months ago. like tron , xrp and neo etc. does that mean its safer (because its a top coin) and probably will go back to its all time high within a year?

Yes you are right all these dips are buying opportunities, always buy at low prices and sell at high prices of you are a smart investor, i think ltc, xrp, ada and neo with most of other big coins are very cheap at the moment you can buy them with some portion of your investment and buy more if they drop even more.

so if btc etf gets approved people will start shifting to btc, meaning alt prices will go lower

my question would be, its still possible for lower prices if btc etf is approved?

I think if etf gets approved for btc then btc will become unstoppable and the dream of 100k btc can become reality in one year after etf approval, as far as other coins are concerned i think they will suffer in value in reference to btc value but in terms of usd their value will retain or also grow some what.

I actually do not actually love to suggest tokens or get advices from people about tokens

Lastly, i will suggest you to hold onto your btc if you are currently holding and if you are worried about the value of alts in a btc pump, i think we will be seeing the same pattern as we saw in last bull trend that is btc will moon first then eth will follow and then finally alts will pump too, so if you are holding btc keep them till you find new peak.

Well almost all coins and tokens at this point are at the dip, the opportunity to buy in is there and the chance of making a good profit is there too and that is not just applied to the top 10 coins/tokens, but no one is sure of anything anymore and the market won't be really recovering until BTC and ETH recover and become more stable at higher price levels.

Not necessarily. Just because a coin has dropped a lot means it will go back up to its previous highs. It maybe be dropping because it's a trash coin like Tron or EOS, and will only continue to drop, even after the market recovers.

I think this is true at first...but then lots of people will expect alts to start picking up and they will use some of their btc to pick up some cheap alt coins, and then we will have a big alt coin rally too

Most of them have long-term potential, and they are most likely to rise during a bull run.
They also have leverage points, which prevents them from dumping too sharpely.

Not exactly, if the ETF gets approved the price of altcoins can go up or down because the price of alts are dependent on the price of Bitcoin. For example any alt costs $6/0.001 btc per piece because the current price of Bitcoin is at $6000. Fast forward to a couple of months later the price of Bitcoin is at $5,000 and the price of the alt you hold is still at 0.001 btc/$5. Not all coins increase at the same time but for the most part they'll increase if the price of Bitcoin will also increase. Anything is possible with alts because they're more volatile than Bitcoin.

well, depends, if you are new to crypto and have some spear money, it could be a very good idea to pick some coins, as imagine how many people entered to the market on the highs as a long-term investment and waiting for the prices back

in my opinion, this is the right time to invest when prices are falling now, in my opinion, coins will rise like last year, maybe even more than that, holding back if you have coins and tokens to not lose, be patient is the key to getting profit

Use the rule: buy low - sell high! You can buy any TOP-20 on coinmarketcap coin cheap now and wait for several months when price will rise up and sell it on high and get profit.

I think the best choices to potentially yield 5-10x profits are ICOs. Have you guys heard of Menlo One and WePower? People in different forums have been discussing about these 2 projects which got me interested. I've also seen youtube videos of these projects and they really seem legit. Also, their ratings in sites like icobench and icorating are very high.. Any inputs about them?

I like this shakeoff because we can see how overpriced stuff like XRP and NEO were. I wouldn't say that the'yll go so crazy, they aren't much special, go for stuff like BTC and ETC, they're safe-havens.

Although it is still in a downward trend, it is suitable to buy some valuable tokens in batches.
Because you never know when you'll be at the bottom of the market, you'll just have to try it out gradually.

I think now is the time when you need to invest in the top 20 coins, because they have fallen significantly in price. Having invested in top-20 coins now, you will get a good profit in the future. You may choose Monero, DASH, IOTA, and XRP for long term holding. I was active before on crypto news and heard a lot from these platforms making their big moves and partnerships last year. I am pretty sure that these altcoins will get back to its all time high or might reach a new all time by next year. If you are an active trader, Choose NEO, EOS, LTC and Ontology because they are profitable in day trading but still depends on the trading volume. This was just an advise based on my own experience and it would be better if you also do your own research first.

Of course they will start to grow, but whether they return to their former highs is a big question. Here, each coin needs to be analyzed separately from the others. Personally, I would not look at coins from the top 20, because they have a very large capitalization and they are more difficult to grow, and closer to 100.

We cannot directly say it will go back to its all time high but as  early as of now this is a very big chance to buy if you have some spare money to invest considerably you can afford it lose. No it isn't. The top 10 includes multiple scam coins like BCH and EOS. The value of these is only going to go down long term.

Usually crypto that been going up 10 times and now going down to the bottom has potential to go to top price again later. If we see some crypto in daily timesframe, there are many crypto been going up to the top price like NXT, XRP and they will go there again later. Look all the price of altcoin is pump dump and compared with BTC is more powerfull.

It is very obvious that top tier coins has a lower risk compared to other coins at the lower tier. The question is which of the top 20 coins are going x10. For me, the most controversial coin are the ones who will go top 10. We all know that not a lot of people liked Ripple but the price goes higher than we ever imagined. Same thing happened with TRON and Stellar. The most controversial are the ones who will prevail.

Altcoins dropped more than BTC during the bearish market. The high potential coins will recover, but the useless coins won`t.
It is better to stick to BTC  as we do not know how long the bear market stays.
The market around the $200 billion is most likely around the bottom, so plenty of cheap investing possibilities.

Yes the top 100 coins on coinmarketcap list are the ones which will surely give profits when market will recover but also do not forget the new projects with high potential and good product especially blockchain projects. They are the ones which will gain 100x in next bull run.

Yes some of them are good to invest in. But you need to make more research on this. And consult with a investment advisor to help you  on investment processes

No one knows how deeper this could get, but it is known that coins have gone so deep and the overall crypto is at a comfortable base level for investment. We may not likely have another x2 drop from this level, most coins are at their last year high and whatever happens from here should be another season

it's hard to get it back in a year. because there are a lot of investors investing. with rapid enrichment there will be a different balance disorder in the world. big funds will never want that. but after all the goods on the market have been bought. but some of the coins show themselves. it's not worth it.

IOTA, ICX, ADA are good coins to invest now. also those are strong coins. so they will get more attraction in the next bull run. also consider some low market cap coin as they may do 100X in next bull run

Choosing one of those top 10 coins can be a wise decision, but from those top 10 coins i prefer to choose either ETH or BTC, I believe those 2 is even safer tho hold for a long time.

they are good investments, the one I can recommend is ripple, since I consider that his price is not yet established, they have an ambitious goal but a little controversial, which is to turn the cryptos into something institutional, or at least make a mixture of cryptos with banks, that can be beneficial, although it would distort the Satoshi vision.

It is good to invest in coins that are 10X below their ICO price now, but before you do, be sure that the coin has the value or have good reputation and the teams are really working so you will not get scammed.

There is no guarantee these coins regain the same price, however these are good projects and there are good chances they will reach the highs again.

definitely any the coins that are 10x lower than their ICO or market price, their prices will rise again but that does not mean that such coin is a good coin anyway.

Ripple and eos can be attributed to these top 20s, but there are other good and cheap coins like 0x and BAT, so you shouldn’t limit yourself to a twenty.

There's a lot of altcoins with a great potential that in the cheap price, when the market starts to recover it's definitely give you a profits. But of course you need to analyze the altcoins that you want to invest.
