Title: Unexpected maintenance!
Post by: petyang12 on August 13, 2018, 08:46:29 PM
Hi! I'm just curious about this one! Did you guys encounter "Unexpected maintenance, be back soon" in bitcointalk forum? Is there something wrong with the forum itself? This is what I encounter when I open the bitcointalk forum in my mobile device earlier. As soon as i'm able to access bitcointalk later on then I decided to post this and find some answers. Any answers? Thanks.

It is just a maintenance, not a big deal

I have never experienced it,
But maybe it just short and temporarly daily maintenance buddy.
Even large websites require maintenance periodically. Don't worry about it.
But always check the domain is correct bitcointalk.org or not, and if you doubt you can change your password for your security sure.

It's that the only error that says?

If that is so, you have to wait if there's maintenance like. I'm browsing through desktop but I've encountered different error words but I barely remember it.

I think that's because "some database issues" there has been some downtime earlier today/yesterday "based on my time."
I suffered from this problem once and have been solved by refreshing the page (F5) " you can try to clear your cookies."
Generally, It didn't take more than a few seconds.

I have encountered a situation where I can't connect. Others told me that this is normal because it belongs to maintenance, you don't have to worry about bitcointalk!

There were 5 different errors I got during that time, here are the last 3 i recorded >

I guess there was some problem with database, noticed something weird, when I merited someone it took around 1 min to update the merit count, normally it takes a few seconds.
The second wired thing was a strange error on the "Top-merited replies, all-time" rest of the links in the merit statistics were OK but clicking the above mentioned link returned something like this >
Code:
Error:  #235458937

I should have taken screenshot of it too but..

The site was down for more than 15 min. I saw later that theymos was online probably he fixed it.

I'll consider changing my password.
