Post by: Kemarit on August 15, 2018, 03:31:30 PM
I don't know if traders at OKex is aware that some of the coins will be de-listed at 12:00 Aug 17, 2018.

I hope that most of you doesn't have any of that shit coins If you still holding much better to liquidate them if possible to avoid the headaches.

I expect OkEx coin to have notified their customers about the proposed delisting via the emails on their database for the sake of those who won't be on the forum to read and those who believed in their wildest dream they are holding long term for them to turn massive profit and not involved in day to day visit of the platform. The best approach is to liquidate if there is no plan for such coin or move to another platform that is not ready to delist.

I can actually relate with something like this when the exchange I have a coin just came with a notice that they are delisting but the coin would be available for withdrawal only for them to just decide to deactivate withdrawal without even notifying and that's how I lost out that the coin later became a worthwhile investment.

I still have not received any email from the exchanges I have already used, informing that they will delist any altcoin, and this seems to be something the exchanges do not bother to do.

Trading pairs to be delisted: Against USDT: LA, READ, SNM Against ETH: UTK, WRC, QVT, SAN, UBTC, DNT, OAX Against BTC: UBTC, BCX, BT2, WBTC, UKG, LA, SAN, ATL, REQ, BRD, SNM, VEE, TIO, REF, UTK, WRC, QVT, DNT

With so much better altcoins than these, why did they choose these altcoins and for the USDT pair? What was the criterion of their choice? I also heard that devs pay for their altcoin to be listed. so when any exchange delist some alt, that exchange should not pay anything to the devs? This is something that until today was not clear.

I have the same impressions, exchanges don't need to pay anything to the devs when the coins are de-listed. If my memory serves me right, one criteria the exchanges used to delist a coins is lack of trading volumes or developers abandoned totally abandoned their coins. Take note though that TIO is still. very much a active coin, and they even have their own trading platform now.

It needs to be informed to the community and things to say. Let the community know what is going on.

Did you really understand the topic? OKex is delisting the coins which means that it can't be traded anymore. Why are you buying coins when you can't do anything with them and at the same time, you already lost your money when you get those dead coins.

It needs to be informed to the community and things to say. Let the community know what is going on.
You are already informed when the OP open this thread. So you should do appropriate actions on your end already. I'm sure that OKex will mail blast its customers as well. They are one of the top exchanges, so I'm sure its a priority to let all their user based updated with the news.

For clarification those coins mentioned are not totally delisted. Only their trading pairs will be delisted. So if the coin doe have another available pair then the usual trade will continue. Anyways the noticed were posted last August 10. The delisting now take placed.

Im a registered user at OKEx but I don't received any email from OkEx. Good thing I currently don't owned any of these coins.

Yes majority of exchanges doesn't bother to send emails about delisting. I only received emails from C-CEX exchanges several times about delisting coins but their last mail to me was way back September 2017. I don't know if they stopped alerting their clients at email or no delisting happened for about a year now which is unusual.

Even if they're still being traded elsewhere, I wouldn't suggest that risk. It's too much trouble getting into a coin that everyone else is abandoning. If the exchange is delisting multiple pairs, it's for a good reason. No one is buying it and it is becoming useless.

Too many shitcoins emerged last winter and we are starting to see the decline. They couldn't have all survived through such an aggressive market, so we can see they are getting weeded out one by one. Hopefully this is a form of evolution and more reliable coins can enter the market as a result.

I have semi active accounts at Poloniex, Bittrex and OKex and a few others and I can tell you, I have never received any email at any time from any of these exchanges about new listings or even delistings. Basically, I just keep on their Twitter or blog. If anything is announced, this happens on Twitter.

It's not such a great way to keep alerted because they can get drowned out then again I don't have that many moneybags at these exchanges that I worry too much.

If you want serious holding for alts, use your own wallet, true?
