From various sources, MyEtherWallet (MEW) are not under development and maintenance any more. Even its founders has confirmed that they are switching to develop a new platform called mycrypto and encourage everybody to move there property to there.
But IMO, MEW or mycrypto is just a gateway to access your real wallet in the blockchain, so, both of them are still fine event MEW is not maintained anymore, right?

I am still using MEW, last time I install the plug in call Metamask but it cost ETH to move the token from MEW to Metamask so still using.

From what I understand, you are right when saying MEW is the gateway to access the block chain.

We are in the cryptos world where people very cautious, so if something like "not safety" when using MEW, I am positive the alert will come all over the forums/discord/telegram as this will be a critical point.

indeed some of the founders and developers of MEW made new wallet providers under the name MyCrypto and this happened a few months ago. don't worry, because both are safe and I still use both. if you are afraid, then you can use other wallets, such as metamask, electrum, coinomi, jaxx and hardware wallets.

Technically, the MEW wallet does not directly store your coins. MyEtherWallet gives you an address where you can receive coins from other people. This address is referred to as the general address of your wallet. Think of it as your bank account number, where you can receive money from other people.
For that, you need a secret password called a private key. This private key is a unique number that is generated randomly. You cannot give a private key to anyone. By using this private key with your public address, you can send your coins and tokens to another address.

Yes I still using MEW. It is quite secure and simple in use crypto wallet. The only one thread is fishing. Be attentive and everything will be ok.

But I heard that people got hacked by losing there private key, right? And they ensure that they don't have any malware or phising mail or something like that, just come to MEW as normal, that makes me worry about MEW

I'm still using MEW as I consider it one of the safest wallets out there. It's true some of its developers left to start mycrypto project. But that doesn't mean MEW is now an abandoned project. Just ensure you prioritize your safety by ensuring you don't enter your private keys on a phishing site.

Since I joined the crypto world I have been using MEW because I think its the best wallet for altcoins and due to its secured nature I prefer it over other wallets. To be honest I still use it and its the best though.

Technically MEW is just an interface for creating your wallet, and I think you've misunderstood that MEW is the safest since it's very risky moreover if you access the wallet using your private key. The safest wallet is where you can access them without giving your private key or store them offline, the hardware wallet for example. MEW itself not recommend people to use private key as a method of login, since their site always got attacked yeah it's better safe than sorry, just a friendly advice.

No. I ported to imtoken after evading seconds several hack attempts. Imtoken and Eidoo are safer in my opinion and serves same purpose as MEW

I have not really used mycrytpo ans I do not know much people using it so for now I still stick with myetherwallet for my ERC 20 tokens..although I believe hardware wallets are the safest to use in holding but what happens in a case of theft or loss of the device?

Yes im still using mew. Ever since i trusted mew with my eth and erc20 tokens. I feel safe using new. Although it is advised to move im staying with mew for now. Mycrypto is still new. Although the founders of mew are recommending its use, i still think mew has proven its safety and security.

MEW is fine so why would I stop using it?

I never used mycrypto and even there are some problems that has been showed with MEW, its still the most convenient wallet so far that I can use if ever I want to.

I always use MEW when I make a transaction, but this is your choice, you can use Metamask to transfer tokens to trades that you will do, I have never used Mycrypto, maybe I'll try it later, because I think Mycrypto has the same function as MEW maybe I'll try it.

As for me, I've been using ImToken ever since I joined in the cryptoworld, my first ethereum address was first created in Mew do but transactions mostly done in mobile crypto wallets. And I also know that for quite some time, some hackers hacked MEW's API or somethin, correct me if I'm wrong though, so I'm just not confident in using web wallet.

I'm still using mew to access my fund and its easy to use. Just be careful and always check the url address when using mew since many phising site that will compromised your account.

Yes, Im still using Myetherwallet it is the common and safest wallet to store all your bounty tokens or savings. Just always be careful to the sites you are entering and make sure your private key is in secure place and no one will know it. Mew is easy to access and safe.

Honestly never heard mycrypto before so I just googled and try to open, it looks similar with MEW.  Maybe I will use it later when it's more popular and more peoples use it.

MYW seems to me still the most convenient solution that exists in the market, I do not want it to disappear, because it is very convenient

I have only ever used MEW for Ethereum based transaction.  I will most likely use it till they take the website down or it becomes unsafe.  I like the way it works and the design is good enough. 

I already stopped using MEW and switched to Forkdelta due to some recommendations from others that MEW is not that doing well anymore. Also the the websiite has many complains when it comes to speed of transactions and slow pace.

I used MEW only for the first time and now I do not like it. This is a little inconvenient for beginners to use. When using MEW with PC, security is weak and server is unstable. I think it is more convenient to use applications such as imtoken or coinus as mobile. These programs are simple and have a good security style, so it is very good for beginners.
And in any form, it is best to distribute assets across multiple wallets, so you should use multiple wallets.

I had been using MEW for quite a long time and I am not having any issues with it despite the frequent complains that MEW is prone to hacking, I am well familiar with its interface that is why I am not bordered with mycrypto, I had also tried using metamask I had to abandoned it due to its complexity.

If that's the story, safest and the best wallet for me still an hardware wallet and that would be Ledger Nano S, IMO. I'll choose to say that because I have that wallet and never had issues nor problems by the time that I'm using it and with those updates and support, its amazing.

You are actually correct. I read an article a long time ago that the reason why MyCrypto wallet was created is because team MEW was divided. There could be a possibility that the reason why MyCrypto was created is to build a stronger credibility with their wallet. Do you have any reference about MEW encouraging users to switch to MyCrypto? That would be an amazing start to discuss this matter accordingly.

I trust to MEW more so I didn't ever think to move on to mycrypto.

yes i am still doing with mew. its the most secure wallet i have ever seen. I can highly recommended  that wallet. private key with us. thats the most advantages to us.

MEW is decent wallet, although I would not recommend you to use your main addresses there. The reason is because many people often don't protect well their private keys such as keeping them in plain text or yet they even use their main computer that they use day to day. And there is the problem with using your ordinary computer/OS because chances are higher that there is some malware or virus that can get on your computer. If you don't understand or have knowledge of how to keep your funds safe maybe you should start to look at some hardware wallets as they provide greater security with ease of use.

Thanks for the information, before I heard about such a purse as MyCrypto. Until now, I have used MEW and still consider it to be the safest. The main rule is not to go over suspicious links and not to enter your PrivatKey anywhere.

Yes, I still use MEW and I already register that address to some campaigns and airdrops.  I didn't know about that they will stop MEW development, I hope they didn't kill it.  

They're not gonna kill it. They have tons of users and it works pretty darn well. The UX could be improved though!

Yes, I am still using myetherwallet.com because it is still safe to use. If the time comes that it's not advisable tp use myetherewallet.com. Then I will move to the new develop platform or the trusted existing platform.

I'm still using MEW to send ETH and token. I think MEW is safe. If MEW is not working then it is not a big deal since there are other access ports to ETH.

MyEtherWallet was my first crypto application. It was very easy to learn how it works and it was very good experience. I still use it for some operations but I think it is not a good instrument for holding a big amount of cryptocurrency.

Yes I continue to use MyEtherWallet on a daily basis and I am totally satisfied with what it offers in the way of security measures and also the flexibility for all of the ERC-20 tokens and the ease of use. I have a long password using letters, capitals, numbers and special characters so it is almost impossible to crack by brute force.

I haven't even heard of the news. I use MEW and consider it one of the best ways to maintain your investment. I think that in any case a part of the development team will support MEW. On the other hand, why give up a project that brings you a lot of money?

Why not? Its still the best wallet for our ERC20 tokens so I doubt that people will simply stop using MEW unless they informed everyone that they are shutting it down. And I have doubts that they will do that, because its already been established although I heard that they have some internal problems going on. But it doesn't mean that the devs won't simply stopping their services anytime soon.

Of course I still use mew and metamask to store my tokens and of course many people who use them I've also heard news about mew and their team experienced problems in the team but I don't know the truth, I can only hope hopefully mew does not experience problems and harm many people

Yes, I am still using MEW. Even I use Mycrypto, Metamask. But after MEW vulnerable issue when I need to access into my wallet when I go to their social site to see have their any technical issue or not. I think Metamask is good to identify the fishing site. save yourself will be the safe wallet.

I have heard that MEW is facing hacking problem and many get victimized. I am yet not sure they have resolved it or not. My advice would be not go for it as it has security issue.

Personally I use MEW frequently and did not face any problem with it yet. It seems quite secure wallet to me. The best thing about it is the simplicity. It is very easy to handle.

For now, I'm still using MEW to store all my ETH and ERC-20 tokens and seem like everything is still fine for me :). All my ETH and tokens are still safe without knocking at the door by hackers because I always try to keep my PC safe with good antivirus software and a hardware wallet as well. LOL.

In my opinion there are many issues regarding the use of MEW but it’s highly used because of its compatibility with all ERC20 tokens that helps to make easy of its transaction. It’s also doing well to prevent hacking.

MEW is still reliable wallet for now, but I found some other Ethereum wallet more easier to use the likes of IMT. It also cost more Eth to send out token from MEW compare to IMT.

I actually got the ENJ wallet a while back when it was launched and moved some fo my tokens there but somehow I am still using MEW the most, I think I have to check this info out and not get caught up

I thought it was possible to access tokens stored in MEW in Metamask and other wallets. If this was so, I'll continue to use it. But I've not seen any problems with it so far.

I actually used it occasionally like when I want to know the total number of token in my possession, then also when I want to see a full name of a particular token received aside that, I am always stick to imtoken, metamask and coinomi but of recent I do use trust wallet.

From the very beginning, I could not trust the way the MEW works. For this reason I always acted cautiously. After I started using Metamask, I got a little more comfortable. However, Metamask needs to be developed a lot. It can be very useful in the future if it shows enough growth. It would be nice if we could send a direct token, for example.

I have now abandoned MEW and use an app called Secrypto on the App store, its user-friendly interface and easy to use, you can easily create new wallets or import your old wallet into the app.

I wouldn't advice anyone NOT even my worst enemy to use MEW, I have had friends share a lot of sad tales about MEW. In my opinion, it will be better to migrate or import all your Ethereum addresses to more secure and more flexible wallets to safe yourself the vulnerability of MEW. I still use MEW, I really like this wallet. Anyone who finds this wallet unreliable, they should grow wiser and learn how to correctly store passwords from a wallet. I have had no problems with this purse for more than a year of use.

Man MEW is just a User InterFace (UI) of the Ethereum blockchain, it has nothing to do with your security, unless someone got access to your private key (keyloggers, phishing URLs,...), other that that, you're 100% safe.

Myetherwallet is simple,  easy and safer to use for ethereum token and ether!  Myetherwallet is been used everyday by majority of users on ethereum platform.  I use Myetherwallet everyday!

Yes, still using Myetherwallet address since i was started in cryptocurrency campaign programs. This is because most of my campaign is using MEW , participating in bounty signature, facebook, twitter, and telegram. MyEtherWallet (MEW) moved to mycrypto I don't think it was a problem, but the problem seemed to lie in the transaction costs that slightly increased. But don't worry both of them can still be accessed properly.

So far according to the information I read, the MEW team is working to improve the credibility of MEW, correcting the shortcomings that occurred in the past, so that Ether can become a real business product.

Yes, its my first and best ETH wallet.  It can store ERC20 tokens which is the usual tokens for majority of the ICO.  It is safe and convenient and you can also connect with trezor for cold storage.

I still have my new but stopped using it for while now after all the hacking news on it. Mew can be safe but you have to be careful with the logon web page not to enter your details for scammer

MEW still has a lot of users because it is simple and easy to use, it is also suitable for newbies. I usually check their twitter account before joining the website to make sure everything is ok.

Since I discovered Imtoken app and imported all my eth wallets into the app, I hardly ever visit MEW again, It is almost needless since the app does virtually everything that will be need MEW for, it was good using is as my first Etherium wallet, was complicated earlier though

For me, MEW is still working fine and I have no issue regarding it's security and the usage of my wallet. I am still using MEW for the erc20 tokens I am investing and the security should be kept by me.

If you are not sure about the security of MyEtherWallet, my advice is, you only need to combine your wallet with Metamask.

Yes i think even MEW is not maintained anymore still safe, And i already use MEW about more than 1 year and all fine, Install metamask and access your MEW from that for better option, or also access your MEW using JSON file to make sure all safe, not using private key because you can wrong paste

I still using mew and it was safe even if they built another wallet I'd rather choose again mew don't get me wring they built a good platform also but I'd like to use is mew all over again but if you are afraid to use then try metamask you are just going to import you private key or json file on that and you'll have you wallet don't afraid to risk anything life is pure of risk.

Yes I'm still using myetherwallet (MEW) until now because I'm still newbie when it comes storing ethereum and other tokens. I don't know what is the other crypto wallet that can use to keep cryptocurrency safelly aside what I'm gonna used now MEW. Eventhough it is oftentimes maintenance is there I believe that they can survive eversince.

I stopped using MEW after seeing it getting hacked multiple times. mycrypto.com is a split company from MEW and they have a offline wallet that has a MEW look-alike user interface and menus but with lower security risks.

I hope when they finish we'll get another good alternative. The most important thing is that it would be as safe as possible.

I think those hack accounts or news coming out is just the mistakes of its beholder. I'm still using mew and I've never experienced any hacks resulting of losing my coins inside.  It is just the way we take good care of our wallet,  visiting unsecured site or phishing site will also lead into hacking.

I am not really sure they don't keep on working or developing the MEW. Till now, I have no problem when using it as the most used wallets for my ERC20 coins. I think it is only an issue and maybe it is a strategy to promote the mycrypto for a new product.

Maintained or not, the fact that you have full control of your wallet is all that counts and even if the devs peradventure decides to revamp the wallet for additional securities, you can decide to just simply move to using it instead of MEW in that essence.

Nevertheless, you can always access your wallet and some of the tokens as well anytime as long as you have your private key most especially and you are able to secure it. I still use MEW though to transfer tokens and I have never had any problem with it, though I utilize it with Metamask for safety precautions. I am still planning up to use offline version of MEW but my time is not allowing that to set up yet.

MEW I think is the safest and you don't have to worry as long as you have the private key. Downloading MEW to use it offline is much safer.

I kept my tokens in MEW though I rarely login to it but I kept watching the tokens inside it using the etherscan. I rarely loggin to MEW as most of the time  I keep trading on exchanges where my coins are, I know exchanges aren't safe but what can I do, its where we all go to earn few bucks every time.

I too am still using MEW. As long as it works well enough to connect my wallet to the blockchain and helps me send my transactions then it's fine. My only worry is if the site is not maintained, it may lose the critical aspect of maintenance which protects it from new cyber attack vectors. If someone develops new phishing or hacking attempts i don't know until how long can MEW survive. In due time i will probably not wait for anything untoward to happen and move to newer platforms.

as of now i am still using MEW as my ERC20 wallet and so far im atill with this software wallet. but since you were saying that they are encouraging MEW users to switch with a new wallet for me it is OK to try it first then you can decide if you want to transfer all your funds in this new wallet.

To a large extent I still do often times I need to use their services. Thou, I have encountered some issues with them some few times, the platform is actually user friendly which makes it easier to use. Yeah I use MEW combined with MetaMask for loggin into my wallet. Even though the developers 'seem' te have abondoned ship, I will still be using this wwallet interface until the next and better wallet is thoroughly tested and bugs have been squashed. MEW is the most trusted er20 wallet and i'm used since from the start of my crypto life and until now with no problems, i think all crypto holders are using mew aside from their other bitcoin and altcoin wallet.

MEW is a good wallet for having control over your tokens but if you miss your way by allowing third party to have access to your private key then you are gone and you can always use Metamask as plugin to make it more secure and on my crypto wallet I think that was launched some months back and was found by one of the mew staff and not the main CEO of mew so it's like a fork of MEW.

It's not a great wallet, so many times people are being trapped caused by the MEW has been hijacked by the scammer although there was no attack to the internal thing. lol you can try to use the new wallet that you can open it anytime. It's even better than mew itself.

Yes i am still using MEW, there is no reason not to for me.
MEW has been ddos attacked some times a while ago, everytime unfortunatly there were some people who lost there tokens. But everytime this happend, it went quick tough the ether and people were aware of it within minutes.

Also if you have alot of value on your MEW wallet, maybe its time to actually do send some eth for metamask or buy a HARD wallet, wich i prefer. I only used MEW for airdrops and now for my bounties to be collected.

I seldom use it now I downloaded mycrypto desktop wallet and I prefer doing this an online wallet because of the to many hacking incident happening in an online wallet and I only used myetherwallet for airdrops that I think are profitable but never my main wallet to access my token

I used to use Myetherwallet website but since I got phished, I stopped using it and started to use Metamask, it is safer and easier to transfer and receive Eth.
The problem with Metamask is that it does not support sending coins yet.

ERC-20 is the service I use most often for my tokens and to keep Ethereum themselves. No, I am not using MEW anymore,  I was hacked twice in two different  MEW wallets and my fund stolen. MEW is not safe,  hackers easily drop a phishing link to MEW and use it to steal private key and get people's wallet compromised and coins stolen. I now use Imtoken and it's very safe cos it's an app not a web wallet and I don't need my private key all the to login rather it requires password.

Yes, this is the most widely used wallet and I am still using it to store all of my erc20 coins. Its still safe and provides a good amount of security. The founders has not abandoned it. it was just a rumor.

In crypto, you are your own bank so it is advisable to be at alert all time because hackers are always looking for loopholes to steal your funds. Truth is, MEW is not that secured so why use a gateway that doesn't guarantee security of your funds? I stopped using MEW the last time there was a phishing on the site. Metamask and imtoken got my back for now.

I used to use MEW until I discovered mycrypto.com that is a from a team split up from the MEW team. It has a better option in offering a downloadable offline wallet to avoid the website hacking risks with original MEW but still has a very similar interface.

I think this is good suggestion. By using metamask, we can be a step more safety. But if we know how to handle MEW, i think this wallet is also very safe since i use it and its very safe. Just dont paste your private key in uncertified site or dont paste it in phising site. Always bookmark the MEW site then everything is safe.

Yes I am still and will always be using mew. Mew for me is one of the best wallets I ever used but personally I don't store my savings there. I only use mew for trading and other stuffs. I haven't had any issues with mew and no hacking or lost funds. Hard wallet is still the best for storing but if you can't afford it yet you can always trust mew.

MEW is the one and only wallet for me.  Simply get the public and private key and keep it safe.  Don't go to a phishing site by accident.  If you follow those simple rules you should have no issues at all.

As before, I prefer to work further with the functional wallet mew. For me, it is especially fast, convenient and safe in operation. Especially useful for working with acquired assets from bounty programs. For me, this is one of the best wallets for working with tokens based on the ERC20 platform.

For me, holding the altcoins which are under the Ethereum blockchain and the best wallet for me is MEW. I am using it for more than a year now which i didn't face any problem till now, every now i purchased which is under this blockchain will store in MEW.

It's a mismanagement coming from the users not from MEW itself.
