More air time would be good too! I hope the Prague conference gets a lot more coverage than the NY one.

There are still only ten votes. and it has been up for several hours.  I was the first to vote and post.  However I think that the OP has a good thing going.  This can lead to others trying to help create great programs and things for miners.

A "dedicated, cheap device" is included in "Safe Wallet"?

That's the only way I can imagine ordinary folks would manage to secure their wallets. There's no software solution that can be good enough to protect a "browsing computer", particularly one that runs Windows and IE.

For me the backup is really important.

This would make an difference from the money we are using now.

The bitcoin need patience und trust of their owner 8)

I dont understand the panic of some users here because the volatility is normal and not unusual and comparable with young new industries and young stocks like internet, biotechnology oder solar.
It es often the same
first it takes any years that the guys become sense for a new technology then
second the human desire pushes the price into the sky
third the prices reached an end and the media hype startet
fourth the guys see the dollars ... bitcoins in your eyes and make the profit and sell
fifth the price is moving down and more and more guys want to secure their profit and sell
sixth the price is falling down and the guys loss the trust to make the million dollars in less month ;-)
seventh the guys loss the trust in the bitcoin and see the loss of their money end becomes panic and sell
eighth the prices are very very low and the most of the guys switched of their brain and see the end of the bitcoin
nineth the prices are find the bottom and any crazy buyers come back into the market and the price will go up 50-100%
tenth more and more speculators comes back into the market and buy
eleventh the trust will be increase slowly
twelveth the bitcoin is back and the end of the crisis will be published in the communities
thirdteenth the bitcoin will starting a new big rally and the hype goes on
fourteenth the bitcoin isnīt a small economy more , the bitcoin is the next big innovation of the 21th century and a lot of another electronical currencies will started  but the bitcoin will be reserved the cult-privilege ;-)

iīm very confidently i believe in bitcoin and see the low prices as a good chance to buy.

bitcoin needs to be able to cancel an unredeemed transaction, if sent to a bad address or hacked...

Im not trying to change any project directions....this poll is really just bitcoiners and doesnt include the public. Not to mention the lack of pay means most are(and should be) persuing what they want. My intention is to start another thread based on the top vote getter....and try to do some followup...try to solicit (anonymous?)professional advice as well on where the bitcoin community stands....aka the 'lowdown' :)... I haven't quite figured out what I can do yet, but figure there can be meaning in all of this.

An easier wallet system that is still very secure, not everyone can put one in a special section of their hard drive.

Probably but do you have a money bag with a pin code ?  ;)

move the wallets out of your pc,
keep your pc clean with firewalls and checking tools.
use more than one ore two wallets then the risk isn't high.
