Title: What is your Bitcoin total ownership goal?
Post by: Kakmakr on August 19, 2018, 11:27:34 AM
So, at one stage in your life, you should set some goals for something that you want to achieve in the future. The same is applicable to Bitcoin and you should set some realistic goals for yourself.

I know a lot of people are aiming for 21 coins <as their first goal, because there are 21 million coins in total>  ::)

Would you stop after you reached your goal or would you set new goals after that? When will you stop collecting and hoarding your coins or are we all a bunch of Scrooge McDucks?

Let's see how many people have decided on specific, realistic goals and how many people are just collecting coins without goals.

My precious..  ::)

My goal is to have 1 bitcoin after 6 months. It's important to set realistic goals and break your main goal into smaller goals that are easier to achieve.I don't know how somebody could gather 20 or 50 bitcoins(unless he is a crypto hacker, online crypto casino owner or some exit scam ICO dev/owner).

No, you do not have to be a scammer to achieve those goals. A clever day trader can achieve that in a couple of months, if he is lucky and clever enough. Some people get paid in bitcoins to do some development on projects and there are legitimate ICOs out there, that are successful too.

If you bought early enough, then you would have accumulated a lot of cheap coins, so some people start on a much higher coin count too. I doubt if these people are still collecting coins, but you never know.  ::)

Let's see how many people have decided on specific, realistic goals and how many people are just collecting coins without goals.

I haven't ever set any target other than having more Bitcoin at the end of each month than I did the beginning of it. That's easy to achieve as I now have several sources of income paid in Bitcoin, I just need to make sure I don't spend all of it.

If you really believe that Bitcoin has a long-term future as a form of money there isn't a reason to stop. Why save inflationary fiat money when you can save deflationary money?

Yea, I am with you on that. I stopped saving fiat money and started to dump all that money into Crypto currency investments,

every month. I have seen very little interest on my fixed investments in the Bank and I would rather risk a little more and

repeat the more that 800% profit I received on my Bitcoin investment of last year. I am still on a high, with the satisfaction

that I got last year from gaining more than 800% on that money invested in Bitcoin.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I don't have a target how much bitcoin will I collect
say if I now have a target of only 5BTC with the current price , but a few weeks later the price can be higher or lower and more lower .
I think that will change my target which only needs to collect 5BTC  ;D

Actually I don't have any purpose, I will get out of the world of bitcoin if it's time. while bitcoin still exists, I will continue to be in the world of bitcoin.

I know it's hard to earn even for 1 btc but I still consider it as my  first ever goal which I think is very hard for me to acquire. Currently, I am just dependent on my signature bounty campaign reward tokens that I am saving which is intended for my btc investment soon. I believe that in due time I could be able to have 1 btc soon as long as I am still active being a bounty hunter.

Between 1 and 5. Because I understand that when we hit mass adoption most people will be unable to even get 10 BitCents.

I mean I'd love to have 200 Bitcoins and I don't think there is anything wrong with being a whale. It's just not necessary. If I had lots of money, I'd probably get the most valuable asset there is: Good land.

With the current price ($6k) I chose 1-5 btc my current goal is to have at least 0.5 btc but that's not in the poll. Anything above the first answer is a long shot for me. I currently don't have plans to reach this goal because i'm always spending my Bitcoin. Once I reach this goal i'll probably stop there I don't want to be greedy and try the same goal on alts as they're much cheaper than Bitcoin.

Hmm i like this thread, we can sharing the goal and respond to it. Well, if you said "realistic", i have own roadmap or millestone (like ICO hehe) and currently i still on early phase, yes i have to get 1-5 Bitcoin on this year but i haven't got it yet till now.
So how do i get it? for now i just participation with bounty campaign and sometime, i try to trade my cryptocurrency, it's difficult to earn more profit, sometime i have loss. But it's a step for reach millestone, i always hope and spirit for my goal!

Would you stop after you reached your goal or would you set new goals after that? When will you stop collecting and hoarding your coins or are we all a bunch of Scrooge McDucks?
Stop it? I think no. If my goal has reached, i will create a new goal.

I want to hold 10 bitcoins but this is hard for me to collect at the same time.  Holding bitcoin is for long time is the profitable way for an investor.

There is a limited supply so I only would want to own a small amount 5-10.  It would be more fair if everyone was able to own a small amount of bitcoin instead of it being concentrated in the hands of a few whales.  It's funny how many bitcoins were lost due to carelessness, back in the days when no one really thought bitcoin would amount to any serious value.

I only collect bitcoin from bounty campaign, so my target 1btc in one year. I hold a lot of altcoins from bounty payment. and hope that next year the value will increase to reach 1btc  ;D

I'm also collecting bitcoin using only bounty rewards and trade them so it is hard for me to earn large numbers of bitcoin but if it is God well that I can obtain more then i'm also glad to accept.  ;D

No need to think negatively of people who have a lot of Bitcoin, try to learn the history and graph of Bitcoin! You can also have lots of Bitcoin if you enter the crypto world 5 years ago and holding it until now. and there are many opportunities to produce Bitcoin more, one of them is by trading daily crypto and investing in legitimate ICO projects, but it all depends on the ability and capital spent. keep thinking positive friends!

While it is true that like any crypto-enthusiast I would like to have thousands of bitcoins in my possession, it is also true that the first step is to start with realistic goals that are perfectly achievable in a specific period of time, otherwise we will be condemned to live in the clouds without ever landing our ideas on concrete achievements.

Therefore, my only intention at this moment is to have 10 bitcoins in my possession before 2020. I know it sounds little ambitious, but that goal does not limit me to the opportunity to get more, especially if a potential bitcoin collapse makes it more accessible in price than it is now.

I don't have a particular goal in mind regarding Bitcoin. To me, it's just an interesting magical Internet money experiment and I am collecting and spending coins as I go about my daily life. I am not a hardcore hodler either. My assets are in fiat and real estate and Bitcoin is simply tokens I can afford to lose without affecting my livelihood in any way. The more coins I have the better ;)

The same is applicable to Bitcoin and you should set some realistic goals for yourself.

I know a lot of people are aiming for 21 coins <as their first goal, because there are 21 million coins in total>  ::)
I chose the first option, because if bitcoin is going to have a higher purchasing power than right now, then not many coins are needed after all. If btc doesn't get massively adopted, holding a lot would make no sense, since one won't be able to actually use it. I don't understand what's the reason to possess a lot of btc. The more people possess small amounts, the more decentralized the system is. And besides, if we want cryptocurrencies to be considered as money, we should not own any of it for long. Money is not created to be stored. It is designed to be in constant circulation, exchange for actual goods. If it is not exchanged, it isn't even there in a way, because a person with a dozen of bitcoins might forever live a poor life, never using the savings and then probably dying without anyone knowing the password or private keys.

For me in my early days in the cryptocurrency world, my first dream or my ownership goal is to make at least one bitcoin because that would be enough for me and until now that is still my dream or my ownership goal because until now I didn't even reach the one bitcoin goal only but after that I would like to have like more than 10 or something but I think it is doable or achievable because of the knowledge I gain and the money I invest.

I do believe goals are very important. I have set myself a goal of 10,000 STEEM before the end of this year. I know its not Bitcoin but with 10,000 STEEM I will be able to earn more or less $200 per month which can be used to accumulate Bitcoin. In order for me to reach this goal I will need the markets to become bullish again. I own a few coins/tokens but I need their values to increase in order to raise enough capital to buy the STEEM I need.

I'd like to have 1 BTC, but I keep spending BTC whenever I can so it's getting a bit hard to own a single Bitcoin, especially if more and more merchants start accepting BTC  ;D I'm not hodler, I just like to spend BTC as I believe this is what we're meant to do with own Bitcoin. But I would really like to see a single digit in my btc wallet, I'll probably make it my main objective in the long run.

My precious..  ::)

That's a funny question. Even though this question doesn't add much value to the community but still a fun thing to indulge into. My home mortgage value is around 10 bitcoins at the current market price. So my primary goal is to gather atleast 10 bitcoins so that I can payoff my mortgage commitment. That's a big loan in my local currency and I am paying a hefty EMI every month for that. But I know it is hard to reach within few years of time unless I win some lottery or jackpot. So I look forward to save at least 10 bitcoin in next 5 years.

However, there is no question of stopping even after I reach my goal because who doesn't want financial freedom?? Definitely I want to continue my earnings in bitcoin so that I can save for my kid's and my parent's future expenses. I mean who doesn't want money? The more the merrier!

You are wrong. This question adds a lot of value. Simply looking at the first 17 votes, you can see that less than 30% of the participants own less than 1 Bitcoin.  ::)

People should also be made aware that they should set goals for their Bitcoin investments. It is better to set short term goals that are achievable and work your way up to the goals that look like it was unachievable.

We have too many people who simply waste the bitcoins that they acquire, because it is becoming easier to spend it. If we promote a hoarding culture, then it will be beneficial for all of us in the long run.  :D

i think a realistic goal in life is one that always evolves. you are never supposed to reach your goal. you always push it further down the road and then try to catch up with it. for example i had the goal to reach 0.1BTC back in 2014, then i pushed it back to 1 whole bitcoin and so on.
it is always good to have long term and short term goals. for example you can set a goal that you reach in a month and set an ultimate goal of being a millionaire that you reach in a couple of years.

Yes, exactly what I have said. The problem is that people are not setting any goals for their Bitcoin investments. They get side tracked by the multiple goods and services on offer and they spend most of their coins. It is easy to get say $10 worth of bitcoins a week and wasting that on gambling or some cheap product on some ecommerce site that accepts bitcoins.

It is difficult to set aside say 80% of all the bitcoins that you are buying or earning and setting some goals will concentrate your efforts to do that. Tell yourself that you want to own say 10 bitcoins in the next 5 years and you will work towards that goal.  ;)

There was no target in my performance at cryptocurancy, I continued to observe and invest long-term, crypto daily trading, even investing in many legitimate ICOs that I had lived. and proven that makes my Bitcoin increase. I will maximize every opportunity that exists, and brake if it's dangerous to follow.
Do not think negatively of people who have a lot of Bitcoin, because not all of them are produced in a dirty way as you mentioned. everything may depend on the effort and luck that each individual has.

Yes, this is what I call a realistic goal that are achievable for most people.  ;) At the current Bitcoin price of around $6300, you would have to accumulate about $500 worth of bitcoin every month. Some people are saving a small amount of money in the Bank already and they only need to stop doing that and to re-direct that money into Bitcoin investment.

A lot of people will not be able to do that and they will have to reduce their monthly contribution to their Bitcoin investment plan, but it will just take a little bit longer for them to achieve this goal.  :P <Stop bad habits like smoking & drinking and you will be amazed at how much would be available to invest in Bitcoin>

Some people are saving a small amount of money in the Bank already and they only need to stop doing that and to re-direct that money into Bitcoin investment.
That's true but don't forget that some people have no money to invest it on anything, Their best option is to give their small amount of cash to the banks because they're the safest place for their money. A real bitcoin enthusiast would buy bitcoin and would hodl them for more than 10 years, In 10 years the price would increase so much that you'd regret not investing on bitcoin.

If we have limitless abilities, why should we limit ourselves?
Is it wrong to collect as much money as possible? Does no one want to have more than $ 10000? In my opinion it’s not greed, refusing the wealth given by God is a stupid thing, we could use the money for charity or build a business that empowers people.

I'm not so focused on the number of Bitcoins, more on the value. So, I would like to save enough Bitcoins to close some my financial obligations in banks and also to fulfill some of my desires. Depending on the value I might need only one Bitcoin or maybe ten, it's hard to tell at the moment.
Anyway, I'm balancing between saving and spending and in the next two years period I would like to have at least  2-3 Bitcoins in my wallet. Hope the value will be such that this amount will be enough.

like childhood, we have a target to achieve our goals, every target we go through gradually as well as bitcoin, when we target 21 then once the target is achieved we will have a new target higher, because basically humans have a level unlimited satisfaction.
Working people have a target but they cannot stop working when the target is reached, they must keep working for life, this is life

The unsaid eventuality of having a bitcoin is the  buoyant fiat value in the future. It is a goal to have a financial capacity to solve some problems absolutely. Except for the big whales, every owner less than 30 bitcoin should consider an active business and also keep as an inheritance for the children if you make much more.

My precious..  ::)
It is so hard to attain and achieve even 1 Bitcoin since it is so expensive and i could not even can afford to buy at least one. Yet my only target is to get 1 Bitcoin however, i know it is somehow like impossible because doing bounty campaign and receive coins as a reward could not even compromise the value of 1 BTC and the rewards are not that good also depending on the ICO project but specifically there are many ICO project that does not pay well of course one thing to consider is your Bitcointalk rank.

Goals are easily attained when you break them down to smaller goals that is feasible and realistic. My target is to get 5-10 BTC every three weeks.

Title: Re: What is your Bitcoin total ownership goal?

There is a limited supply so I only would want to own a small amount 5-10.  It would be more fair if everyone was able to own a small amount of bitcoin instead of it being concentrated in the hands of a few whales.  It's funny how many bitcoins were lost due to carelessness, back in the days when no one really thought bitcoin would amount to any serious value.
Yup, thus keeping the Bitcoin market healthy, a monopoly can destroy Bitcoin itself if it’s owned only by a few people and the high value will be lost because of losing its functionality so that only the speculative values remain even if there is a made up transaction.

My strategy
Market conditions.

If I have to be realistic, my target in this year is to add 1 more Bitcoin. I have never and probably won’t limit how much of my wealth, I never met anyone like that, after all, by having a lot of money I can help the city where I live to strengthen its economy.

Also, if I can add. Goal posts can be shifted, based on your changing circumstances. You might have set a short-term goal of

say 21 coins, but suddenly you run into some money and you can buy more coins. (Inheritance or Winning the Lottery)

Goals must never be fixed. I like to compare my goals with shifting sand dunes. The strength and direction of the wind, will

determine their progress and we should learn from nature. If the Bitcoin price is high, we should sell some and keep some fiat

to buy a lot more, when the price drop.  :P

It one this g to set a goal and is another thing to accomplish your set goals, bitcoin as a very volatile asset is very difficult to set an exact amount you may own at any point because the price fluctuate at every second of the day. But having a set goal is good at list it will help to guide your steps and action in one direction which is to accomplish your set goals.

Once I've reached my goal, I'll set another goal maybe not with crypto related anymore but in real life to settle things and live life to the fullest. Having more btc is the target everybody in crypto space want and the perfect ones only get more and those that didn't know or are noobs loss more some are having large number of btc and aiming to have more why those that have little also targeting to have more but the supply say it all that the total won't pass 21mln and some are unspendable as we speak cos if lost of keys to the wallet so definitely this is more reason the price will keep going up and the no of hold will either be reducing from each person or decrease .

In my opinion, everyone who is comfortable with something that feels good will be very difficult to feel satisfied. If the A determines the target of 5 bitcoins, when it is achieved it will definitely use a more reliable way to get bitcoin more. For me, how much bitcoin that we have achieved is not a problem. The problem that often arises is that someone is not wise in using bitcoin acquisition in everyday life.

I gave up on my initial number of coins to own goal after the bull run of last year. I'm actually happy that I did so, because there is no point in chasing a certain number of coins when you at any time can be put against a bull run making sure that prices increase with 100-200%. I rather realistically focus on allocating a certain percentrage of my monthly income to Bitcoin, and by doing that I automatically see my net worth increase throughout the years.

Forcing yourself to reach whatever amount of Bitcoins will mostly turn into an unhealthy fixation doing more harm than good, especially when you for that specific reason fomo in during bull runs, all because you're afraid of never being able to reach that number with how the price keeps pumping.

There are about 3.5 billion people who use the Internet, and about 20 billion connected devices or just bots. Considering that the Bitcoin network has properties that are not offered to us by any Government or Corporation, we can assume that there is a high probability that the majority of connected people and machines will use this network. What are these properties?

No taxes
Free opening of accounts. They are simply calculated from your private key :-)
Low transaction fees
Predictable and transparent clearing. You always know what is the status of any transaction
The transaction cannot be rolled back
Nobody asks the personal identification information
Nobody can write off your money
Nobody can block the account
No stupid limits
Suitable for all forms of property, not just currency.
A complete history of all transactions
Possibility of privacy and anonymity
The list of benefits can go on and on, but you get the idea. This is a kind of manna from heaven, which is better money in comparison with paper dollars. But most importantly:

My goal is to counter fiat inflation and have a portion of my wealth outside the banking system. The only thing I can do in that regard is to buy what I can afford by dollar cost averaging, and that will continue as long as Bitcoin exists.

It's basically a never ending goal as long as my main source of income is based on fiat only. Not sure if there ever will be a moment I'm fully on Bitcoin, but I'm definitely open to the idea. Stability however is the main requirement.

I read somewhere that in order to be part of the 1% elite, you only need to own like 0.28BTC. I think that's a pretty easy to accomplish goal for most people in the western world, even if the price revisits its all time high.
