Title: ASUS 1050TI , CERBERUS-GTX1050TI-O4G vs PALIT PA-GTX1050Ti StormX
Post by: BTCollect on August 20, 2018, 09:25:11 PM
Hello guys!  Can't make my choose between ASUS nVidia GeForce GTX 1050TI , CERBERUS-GTX1050TI-O4G
and PALIT nVidia GeForce GTX 1050TI , PA-GTX1050Ti StormX.
Asus have 2 fans and passive cooling system and Palit 1 fan and havn't passive cooling.
But Asus rate 1480mhz and Palit 1392mhz only. Is it critical for mining? What will be the difference in the hashrate?
The price in my city differs by $28. Is it worth overpaying this money and taking an Asus?

HI.

1. This is the bitcoin section, no GPU discussion as it does not relate to bitcoin.

2. The 1050 is a piece of junk for mining, you shouldnt even be entertaining the thought of buying one. At minimum you want a 1060.

I'm sorry. I guess admin move this topic to the related category.
But I hear two 1050 makes hashrate (if mining ETC) almost as one 1070 and bigger then one 1060.
May be it's not bad idea to buy farm with only 1050 aboard...

It's better to get the 1050ti as you get better hash-rate to power-consumption efficiency while at the same time keeping hardware density (too many 1050s is expensive because you need many mining motherboards to get a decenet hashrate).

That being said, i would think twice about buying a GPU or mining hardware now. It doesn't look good for multiple reasons which you better research for yourself.

I understand. And yet the question remained unanswered. How much hashrate depends on the frequency of the graphics processor? 1480 or 1392?

Welcome to bitcointalk, where there is no shortage of useless answers!  If you can afford it, get the Asus.  The clock speeds won't affect the hashrate very much, but the extra fan will provide better cooling.  That said,  you could always overclock the the Palit to 1480.  The 1050ti is definitely the best bang for your buck card, but only if you can get it at a good price.  Some of these 1050tis retail for close to $200 and at that point you are better off with a 1060.

I heard that two coolers are not needed on video cards with a consumption of 75 watts and it's just an extra overpayment of money for them, even with overclocking one is quite capable of cooling. I am more confused by the lack of passive cooling on the Palit card. Is it really necessary to take two cooler graphics cards in this case?

I have a rig in my home which I built with money saved from my work and it has only six 1050 ti cards, different brands, like MSI single fan, Palit 2 fans, Gigabyte 2 fans, Gigabyte single fan low profile and a Gainward single fan.

Hash rate is really similar like 15 mhs for all cards with core clock +100 and memory clock +800 , they can go up to 950 plus but not stable there. Only the Gigabyte with 2 fans does a bit better at 16 mhs.

Nowadays these cards are junks and I wonder why they still sell for over 100 dollars or over 100 euros in ebay and other markets. Probably for gamers.

Where do you intend to use the 1050ti? I have one in my laptop and just used it to practice setting up miners. But I agree with someone here that said it isn't really good for mining. one card will only give you about .12-0.18 usd a day about +/-5 usd a month working on skein or equihash. Other algos would give you less.....
