Title: Problems logging into inherited KncMiner Titan
Post by: modern49er on August 22, 2018, 05:57:57 PM
I’ve inherited a KncMiner Titan due to the passing of my brother and I am having a problem logging in to it. I am not a total mining newbie since I played around a bit with mining Dogecoin a few years back on a PC. I don’t have a great amount of confidence that mining is profitable these days with this system but I at least want to play around with this thing a bit before I decide what to do with it.

It seems to boot up fine and I am able to access the web interface but no username/password combination seems to  work. I found some KncMiner user documents online and have tried to the reset button as instructed (Press reset button 5 times, wait 5 seconds and press 5 times again) but it does not seem to working. I saw no indication that anything “happened” as a result and I have rebooted it after trying that and have tried the “default” login credentials (admin/admin) as well as other combinations that I thought might be used as a default, all to no avail.

It looks like my brother had purchased the GenTarkin firmware and it displays version 1.0.4 when it boots up. Perhaps that sets a new default username/password combination that I am unaware of?

If anyone can offer me a hint or two on solving this problem, I would surely appreciate it.

Thanks.

If your miner reflashed with the other firmware then reflashing it with the factory firmware can be solve your issue.

If wan't to get more answer about your question you must move this thread on Mining (Altcoin) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0) because this thread is related on altcoin mining.

Thanks for the tips. I have moved it as you suggested.

Reflashing it with factory firmware would, I presume, blow away the GenTarkin firmware, right? From what I have read, that seems like it might result in a less stable system. I was hoping to avoid that and I also do not have any media that was with the system that would contain the firmware and with KncMiner gone out of business, I wonder if there would be a way to obtain it.
