Title: Dealing with 2 Factor Verification - Foreign Traveler Post by: Pente on March 01, 2014, 09:10:04 PM What is the best way to deal with 2 factor verification if you travel?
I keep some bitcoins on Coinbase for quick sale, then I can withdraw the money from a foreign ATM. Before I went to Kenya, I removed my phone number, but when I tried to sell some BTC, it required me to add one again. So I added my the # from the phone of my youngest wife. Now that I am back in the USA, I went to change it back to my cell phone here. But this time it won't allow me delete the phone#. I am using the change phone option which uses authy.com and takes 48 hours. This isn't a big deal now, but I want to have a way to sell my BTC at coinbase from anywhere in the world. Has anyone used Webtext.com? I am wondering if I could use something like that to replace my cell phone for all this 2Factor stuff. Update: Webtext.com doesn't seem to give you a phone # for someone to send a text message to it. I need something that can create an online virtual phone for sending text messages to it. Just get a cheap Android phone and put the app on there, if you don't want to use your main phone.

The site should Have Google Authenticator, which is an app that generates the code, even without internet.
