Title: [img]http:// / [img]https://
Post by: roslinpl on August 30, 2018, 02:54:18 PM
Hello,

I just realized that images included into image tags with (ie. imgur) http links instead of https doesn't show up anymore.
Is it going to stay like that? (Asking for a friend. xD)

Thanks in advance for an answer :)

Have a great day,
best wishes.

I remember one of the mod has written about (ie. imgur) images are not working or blocked!

But I don't find the Thread or the Post sorry!

I have a feeling it was somthing to do with the forced https that meant that, before then, random threads were not ssl protected and were sent without any encryption on them. I might be wrong but it seems pluasible, just try replacing http with https (if you can't, put it in imgur or another site that supports https).

I didn't change anything, so it must be a problem on imgur's end specifically.

Here's an HTTP image:
Code:
[img width=300]http://www.jmjhouseware.com/uploads/201712865/thermos-stainless-food-flask11531536804.jpg[/img]

Here's an HTTP image which redirects to HTTPS:
Code:
[img width=300]http://www.thermos.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/n/s/ns402bk_directdrink_iso_mm_1.jpg[/img]

Imgur has had some problems today, and still does. There seems to have been an infraestructure maintainance last night, and they still have side effects today (see https://twitter.com/imgur?lang=es). Perhaps the issue is there.

Twitter says issues are resolved, but I've been a while trying to upload an image to my account on imgur with no luck. Uploading the image freely (with no associated account) worked fine, although i'm using https.

Hello,

Me and my friend thank you for die antwoord  ::) ;D ;),

I didn't change anything, so it must be a problem on imgur's end specifically.

Indeed it seems it must be on imgur's end - my mistake was to not check the others but only imgur.
I should 1) Check others 2) Write in my post that I only tested Imgur links.

PS. Very noice thermoses!

I'll keep my eye on the situation - if nothing will change until tomorrow I'll try to submit a ticket to their support.

Thanks everyone for your support,

Lol, theymos solved a problem by posting a bunch of selfies.

If I didn’t know any better, I would say he is a teenage girl.

Actually I'm closing this thread for two reasons:

1) Off-topic posts
2) The problem doesn't require further explanation.

Thanks,
best wishes.
