Bither - a simple and secure Bitcoin wallet!

As Bitcoiner, we know it's difficult to teach people how to use Bitcoin client. No matter desktop client or mobile application, no matter official Bitcoin-qt or third party wallets, almost all Bitcoin clients are too hard to use, especially for Newbies.
In fact, a person who want to enter the Bitcoin world, doesn't need to understand complex concepts like elliptic curve or double spending. The only things she/he need to know are "Bitcon is safe. How to store Bitcoin? How to use Bitcoin?".

Based on these considerations, we tried to develop an Android Bitcoin App "Bither" and had released the first version (v0.0.3) of Bither to Google Play. In the future, we will work hard to improve this product, to make it easier to use and provide enough security.

Features for current version of Bither (v0.0.3):
☆ Decentralized and P2P (peer to peer) Bitcoin wallet, no registration or login needed.
☆ Watch Only addresses for easily monitoring your Bitcoin savings.
☆ Realtime price of major Bitcoin Exchanges.
☆ Detailed list of Bitcoin transactions.
☆ System notifaction for Bitcoin transactions.
☆ QR-code support.

Now we are working on Bither v0.0.4 (will support secured private key and Bitcoin sending function). After releasing v0.0.4, we will open source the Bither project, source code will be available at https://github.com/bithernet/bither-android (https://github.com/bithernet/bither-android).

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.bither (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.bither)

I have scanned QR-reader and tried manually. This piece of shit don't work.

Yes it sync blocks. Shows value of BTC. You can check private keys and so on..

Major problems are:
- can't send btc
- can't change password

If i could change password, i would propably manage to get mobile wallet working. Problem is that i have scandinavian letters in password and mobile wallet keyboard don't have scandic.

They told me to "try with decrypted private key (plain text)" and it's not working.

Any ideas?

You took a wild chance to use a fairly unknown wallet provider. I hope you did not deposit too much bitcoins into this. There are loads of Google

Apps that are dodgy these days, but I am not saying this is one... The Scandinavian letters will certainly be a challenge for some of these new

companies, but they should support multiple languages.  ::)

If you have access to your private keys, then your bitcoins are not lost. Just export them in another wallet. I can assit you with that if you want.

Can someone tell me where i find my private key in Bither? If i try "export" it gives me text with 13 x 4 digits and it's not private key.

If i try "Check private keys" it shows only btc adress and status ok.  ???

Good question.I struggled finding that myself.I wish the website had proper documentation for newbies with FAQ section. If OP wants I could fork the repo and maybe add a proper documentation to the site.I just found out their repo if anyone wants to take a look at the code : https://github.com/bither/

So I have discussed via PM with pelimies, and its problem is that when he hit the button to send, the wallet freezes, and nothing is sent. I would like the help of anyone that is using this wallet or that knows things about the wallets, so that his problem could be addressed as fast as possible !

We have already replied pelimies' email, and because his description of his issue is confused, so we cannot reproduce his issue.

Our support has told him to export the decrypted private key (plain text version), and import to his mobile version of Bither. And because it was so late in Beijing (All our team members are lived in China), we have not replied his email later (people need to sleep, right?).

Do not know how to export private key and import to other devices, that's ok, we will help you to do that. But that does not mean we should provide 7x24 real-in-time answering question services for you.

Again, you can just export the decrypted text version of private key from your desktop version, and then import to your mobile version of Bither. That is almost the simplest thing in the world.

EXPORT PLAIN TEXT VERSION OF YOUR PRIVATE KEY, AND IMPORT THE PLAIN TEXT TO YOUR BITHER MOBILE!

Actually, we have already looked into this, and cannot reproduce his issue. There must be some other special things he has done (e.g., special characters, or other things.)

Also, we have already told him to export private keys and import to the mobile version yesterday. Not knowing how to export/import, does not mean we have not help him.

Currently, we have not provide night replying email service, but still we are trying to answer users question ASAP. Thanks for the understanding, :)

Is there an official place to get information on how to access all the parts of this software?

I have had major problems exporting my stuff.  I made QR codes, and they all failed when i tried to import them into another machine.  I got an email response to choose the same password.  I do.  I also would like to know how to gain access to my bit coin cash, Bither replied with this has already been made available, but doesn't give me a URL link or any explanation.

I like the software, But, with the problems i have encountered, I don't feel very secure in the ability to have full mobility with my bitcoins.

YES!!!!! it definitely is. It either functions in bizarre ways due to nefarious reasons (ie they stole 2 BTC from me on there uber, mega, super secure p2p off blockchain network), or it's designed by idiots with no nefarious intentions and it's just, well, crap. Either way, same result. Though after dealing with the devs (A**holes!!!) I'm hoping it's the latter just so that I haven't contributed to their condescending highly advertised scam.

Good lord, I remember this tone ^. They are such jerks. Sure. The customer did "special things" that keep him from accessing his own money. I have to say that for all the stress you people have put me through, the thing that aggravates me the most is this right here: "Also, we have already told him to export private keys and import to the mobile version yesterday. Not knowing how to export/import, does not mean we have not help him." I have no doubt that is exactly what you said, but that isn't support! Not knowing how to export/import... are you serious?! By definition you have not helped the person. It's exactly the same approach you had with me - except you accused me of making up my issue and lying, then told me repeatedly that I am terrible at explaining the issue: I made a pdf step by step of screenshots with captions - how much more explanation do you need?

My current theory is that your app is either designed to be needlessly complex and lacking in any instruction/FAQ (no, your stupid youtube video with the Mario music doesn't count as a 'guide') For example, the pie chart with the bitcoin symbol can spin! If you flick it, it can spin fast! However, I have yet to send a transaction successfully from the wallet. That tells me that you spent a lot of time on bells and whistles that do nothing or are outdated means of encryption (the dice game and binary game are other examples), but either designed to wallet to only receive or just designed a real turd of a wallet. I tend to think there is more method about this issue than mere sloppy design - your design otherwise seems meticulous and methodical.

Umm if you look at when it appeared on the market...it's been in beta for a looooooong time. so long in fact that almost all other wallets have replaced Bither's Bip38/WIF nonsense with more secure structures.

Ok I take a little bit of umbrage to the “wild chance on fairly unknown“ as if in March of last year Bither was a new up and comer, a wallet that no one had commented on, etc. ummm sorry bullshit! I had the exact same experience as this guy and can still see what pirouettes to be 2.2 BTC in my wallet. I bought them amore than a year ago when they were no more than 4K together, and went to the iOS App Store to find a super secure wallet for my new investment. In retrospect there were a lot of red flags about Bither, but it was really really hard to see through the fog of reviews on bitcoin.com, bitreview, and even the App Store. It had a lot of safe secure buzz words and reviews from places like bitcoin.com and even crypto compare either received a payment for the review or gave it a passing glance and thought it looked ok. After a year of trying to get my coins out, I have done more research into Bither and wallets than anyone should. The wallet is completely idiosyncratic (not just because it’s bip38 but because aspects of standard bip38 wallets were removed with updates. The devs are truly horrible human beings: either completely arrogant programmers who don’t think they can ever be wrong while making a really sloppy program; or extremely arrogant programmers who have relocated funds across the Bither private peer network. Personally I believe it’s the latter. It makes no sense to progressively remove functions, to have no explanation or guide (their guide is a joke), and the impossibility of broadcasting a transaction with the highest fee onto the Blockchain seems really revealing. I couldn’t have known that as a noob. Major BTC sites recommend it for the cold storage option (makes me really suspicious anytime someone pushes that as more secure), the layers of secure seeming stuff like an HD wallet vs a hot wallet. Is there a sequence to sending through these successfully? Who the f*** knows. In any case, I’ve tried to follow up with as many of these sites as possible, none of them do anything to change the recommendation. Heck last year even this forum had a pile of posts praising or at least approving of the wallet.

Small victory? (Probably because they haven’t seemed to show a legit update since the iPhone 4) as of today Bither is not available in the US iTunes App Store!!! Not much, but at least fewer people will have what is now 25k in BTC disappear into the abyss and no longer register send Tx on the Blockchain. God I hate this wallet and would love to meet the devs in person so that I could ummm ‘adequately express’ how much financial trouble they caused me!

To the guy trying to send. Good luck. I’ve even offered a thousand dollar bounty on Reddit twitter and the forum...no one can figure it out. Since it pissed Bither devs off to day this I’m going to enjoy the moment BITHER IS A SCAM OR TOO CRAPPY TO TRUST! BITHER IS A SCAM!!!! BITHER IS DESIGNED BY ARROGANT DEVS WHO CREATED A BUG FILLED WALLET!!! BOTH?!?! SURE! BUT IT SEEMS LIKE  BITHER SCAMS PEOPLE!!!!

Are you sure you have any BTG to transfer? This error probably means that there is no inputs to be spent (there is no coins in the address).

The BIther wallet shows some address as 0 balance and others with a balance so I assume there are BTG there. Unless an address could show BTG when none were there.  I'm not a tech guy I just assume that if Bither showed it then coins were there. Kink of annoying, I see coins but can't move them

There is no doubt that Bither is a secure and easy to use wallet available across many platforms. But giving Coinnup Wallet a try can turn out to be a wise decision. Blockchain powered Fintech solutions by Coinnup offers a host of services to people interested to invest in cryptocurrencies like- Smart Contracts, Cloud Storage and Making Payments. Under smart contracts, applications run as programmed without any fear from censorship, downtime, and fraud or interference from any third party.

Every single data and information related to all the transactions performed are stored in a secured and centralized platform that can be accessed from anywhere but without any threats from cyber hacks. With the help of a platform like Coinnup, that is available across a mobile platform, it becomes very convenient to carry out transactions using crypto. You can use cryptocurrencies for buying groceries or paying any kind of utility bills. With the Coinnup Wallet in your pocket you need not worry about any kind of financial transactions even when you are in a different country.

Want to give Coinnup a try, then do visit https://ico.coinnup.com/

"Giving a try" to a wallet that doesn't even have a working product, but instead is just doing a money-grab ICO? No thanks.

Maybe you shouldn't be advertising this here. It's not only shady for your "product", but it's also against the rules (off-topic posts are not allowed).
