I think that this is nevertheless neutral news, which will not affect the market in any way. Also I think that bitcoin determines the trend of the market, and ETH futures is a second-rate thing.

News in general is good, especially for those who are going to play on a slide. I do not think it will last long, but for a while the Ether will be cheaper, and one of the few ways to make money on this will be futures.

Isnt reducing block reward to 2 ETH or 1 ETH better for price ? It will be harder to mine and miners definetly will not sell mined ETH for like 300$ :/ But Futures there will be no big changes , like for Bitcoin . Its just like betting site where you bet for up or down ... Does not involve even ETH .

I think 280-300 dollars is the price at which Ethereum was bought, now in the next six months only growth will be. And 5 months of growth Ethereum may not be, and then a price jump for 1 month

Furures are like no good. I don't know how is it different for ETH.

When BTC futures were there, the market wasn't in a bull run, but maybe the hype for it was there, which was soon to be proven to be worthless.

If ETH falls,it doesn't mean its good for BTC. Its all according to the market equilibrium(point where Market demand=market supply). So ETH falling shouldn't affect alts either,but in some cases, it really does. Hint: Pump and dump.

We do believe that the future of ETH is good. But there are no comments made yet, by the other platforms, so coming on a solid ground will be a tough call.

Yeah i seen the price of ethereum in the coinmarketcap dumped the price at 300&, but i think this dumped scenario gives people to an opportunity to buy ethereum before to follow their king bitcoin to riased price bull run going into the moon.

In my opinion, ETH is in the process of getting the lowest price ever. If you look at the trend, its not showing any signs of recovery and the pattern goes downward. This situation is bad for alts while btc is recovering and can go up to $7500-$8000. Its up to you if you want to invest on ETH and take advantage of the low price. Just expect a long term hodl when it comes to alts.

Yes I already read that. CBOE is supposed to bring the future of ETH along with them according to the news which is being share everywhere. I have been seeing the same news since yesterday and almost all the community forums are being flooded with the news of it. Not sure if the news has been validated yet or just some cheap stint to bring back ETH to the play again. Either ways, we need to wait right now for it to become reality.

Not everything is so bad. Ethereum Classic for the past day has grown by almost 6%. Ethereum's fall fell by 2% ... Although I think that Ethereum should grow up a bit. If you fall to $ 200 - then most likely will sell. I'll buy Monero. Unless, of course, the coin also falls.

If you believe in something to be true, then it will likely happen. People took the risk and invested in Eth. Like who knows if this project is a scam or not? No one knows. We will not know how the future of Ethereum will be after seeing Ethereum's price development that continues to fall, but it's good if we keep thinking positively, I am a person who includes positive thinking with Ethereum prices, as we know, many ICOs use Ethereum as their token basis, with that indirectly, it will give Ethereum price increases slowly but surely, even some experts, dare to predict that this year, ethereum prices will range from 1k - 1.5k usd.

there has never been any ETH ETF and there never will be. SEC is rejecting all bitcoin ETF's on the grounds that it may be manipulated. and that is bitcoin we are talking about the only solid coin that exists.
SEC will not even consider a centralized coin's ETF while it is 100% manipulated and it is known by everyone!

although it would be interesting to see how additional shorting opportunity and big money shorting ETH coming in can result in the finality of ETH dumping price.
even bitcoin had some trouble because of the manipulation and futures dumps since they were shorting bitcoin. an altcoin like ETH which is already getting dumped can be damaged severely and have much bigger drops.

I think this is great news and the price of Etherium will go up, very strong news maybe just not enough for the growth of the coin. I keep the Eth as a long-term investment and was very upset when the price started to fall sharply, I think now things will get better.

I think we should rather consider it a fake news by default before some major trading floor actually confirms that they are going to start trading these futures. Have seen this news about what will the future of Ethereum according to Nerayoff said Monday on CNBC’s that there are billions of dollars being poured into the ecosystem right now — maybe 10 times more projects this year than last year, which could easily lead to a doubling, probably a tripling in price by the end of the year.

This is a much better news to trust with, also noticed there are more and more companies and project running the Ethereum blockchain which mean the demand is always there and it will never stop. I highly believed in the usefulness of the Ethereum blockchain!

In long term it is good news. More people will now about it.

In short term, it can go both ways so we will see about it i guess.

I think ethereum is an altcoin that can get to the point that bitcoin has, and that is because the amount of confidence it gives to it's investors, plus, it is already a polished and established project, something most of the current projects lack.

The market fluctuates, and many changes occur this year. But I think coins like Ethereum are controlled by many interests, and I believe this is a matter of market volatility. Market trends can be influenced by news, or news can be controlled by market trends. It's just that I believe if we buy Ethereum at this time, then chances are we will find it bigger by the end of the year.

I think we are expecting a good news about ethereum soon. it will become more stable. as of now the market isn't that good that is why bitcoin and altcoins prices are dropping down.

Of course news can be positive or negative on every coin, but I think volatility and market trends are more important. We know that Ethereum is a global coin, and we can take an example of what happens when Bitcoin is banned during a bull market. But anyway, we still have to be prepared.

It's hard to predict the current market price, which last night had a pretty sharp value, finally this morning dropped drastically and was really unpredictable.
But seeing a sharp rise in movement makes it a difficult phenomenon to be changed again. But optimism is still built in order to believe that the market is enough to give the best for eth coins.

Eventhough there are certain issues that it will continue dropped ETH but In my perception I still like to buy ethereum because as I look in history of crypto has ,ethereum was already proven to grow it's prices than others.

I think altcoin is getting more and more now, and competing with each other. We can be surprised by Ethereum's current situation, or think this is just what the market wants. But we all believe that coins like Ethereum have the ability to carry out their own cycles, even though the global situation remains the reference.

For me this is good general news. Especially for those who will play in Altcoin namely Ethereum. I don't think it will last long and will continue to run in the future, but for the time being Ethereum will drop in price and be cheaper than before. From the point of view right now, It doesn't seem like there is anything good for the coin Ethereum in the next couple of months,and this will badly affect its progress in the coming years. The way I trade is simple, if am happy with the price I will buy it. Same as the way I sell. What I am focused on is to earn daily but there are coins that I am hodling for long term.

I think a good side for bitcoin as well. This deep is too much to say that it will be a healthy market for ethereum. I doubt that this could only affect Ethereum but all coin in cryptocurrency.

The OP was not actualy asking if Ethereum has a future, we all know it does. He was more on seeking opinion on the possibility of Ethereum Futures just as with Bitcoin Futures.

ethereum bright future is for the ones but stick with it, there are a lot of countries who havent used the crypto to grow so theres a lot space to do it, and when whole countries took the eth platform and a lot of them are goin to be more efficient

Follow Diar reseaching, there are about 3,7 million ETH belong to ICOs company, ~ 3,7% total supply of Ethereum. 5 month recently, they have sold about 900k Ethereum, this mean they still hold about 2,8million ETH. I think when they sold all of their ETH, ETH value will dump so hard. recent dump is the evidence maybe related with ICOs company.

This should be good news, because it will attract investors in the futures market to pay attention to the cryptocurrency market, which is a very good thing!

We are still didn't know ethereum future ahead because we can't predict what will happen next. As i see now all the market conditions is bad especially in eth because there are many scam ICO that already gathered money from that ICO and sell ETH massively. Some people must be tired and retired from crypto but there will be a new comer too and the community will grow much stronger.

The market is really unstable right now and what ever happens to bitcoin affects other altcoins including bitcoin but next to bitcoin is Ethereum and i would rather advice anyone to invest in Ethereum that to invest in Bitcoin because ethereum is way more profitable

Ethereum's downtrend lately has made some of its investors worried as it continue to fluctuates. But now, it seems that ethereum is giving a fair fight as there is an evident progress that's going on to its market price and capitalization. Hopefully it will continue until the end of this month or even before this year will end. Ethereum will always have a bright future.

I do not think that the launch of Ethereum futures trading will greatly affect its price. Before that, many believed that the fall in the price of Bitcoin was caused by futures. But if you objectively look at the situation, it becomes clear that it was only a strong overbought of Bitcoin. In my opinion ethereum wil be a much stable coin because most of the ICOs using erc-20 platform to launch their coins. Generally good or bad news effect the market no doubt about it. I see market majorly moves on either side on news. I believe if ethereum developer implement some security features on myetherwallet like google authenticator that would be good move for ethereum. But we have to wait till the launch of ethereum futures.

ethereum future will depend on what will happen to bitcoin as well. When it's good then ethereum certainly also be having a pretty good improvement.
