that's always been the case. it seems like people like "wishing" and "regretting" more than wanting to take actions. during rises i keep seeing newcomers say they wanted to buy at a certain lower price that is past and when a correction (fall) starts they go away because by then they have forgotten about their wishes and they start thinking everything is over!

almost 10 years on and people still live in the shadows, the best thing to do to atone for been indecisive ten years back is to take a bold step and buy bitcoin now, then lets see what lies ahead ten years from now.

And the most ironic thing is that even if they got the chance again to buy bitcoin at that price because the price of bitcoin crashed that much they will never buy it, just look at all the people that are afraid to buy bitcoin right now even if its price is 7000 dollars.

They know deep down that the price will recover, they know they will make at least 3 times their money once that happens and they also know that this is the easiest money they are ever going to make and yet they refuse to invest at the current prices, so I have no doubts that even if they had known about bitcoin back then they would have never invested in bitcoin back in the day.

In late December when bitcoin prices were at around $15,000 people be like "I wish I bought bitcoin when it was still at the $6000-9000 range!"

Now here we are at $7000 and now some people want sub $5000. Oh well.

buying bitcoin and holding it until now is a dream to sleep during the day due to the fact that we live in 2018 and perhaps a very logical hope is to expect prices like the end of 2017 or even exceed

I never feel regret that I wish I could buy some BTC in 2009 as I believe in living the present. Because if it was low in the back 2009 then the same thing will happen in 2029. It doesn't mean that people of 2029 again wish to be in 2018 to buy BTC. Well, everyone thinks differently so it does matter and it will remain till we die.  ;D

Buying bitcoin costs money and there's risk involved.That's why many people around the world will continue with the "I wish I bought bitcoin back in 2009 or 2010 or 2012" type of bullshit.
I found this forum back in 2015.I wish that someone told me about this forum somewhere around 2013. ;D

that is one of the main reasons why we see this phenomena known as "FOMO buying". these people who are wishing for low prices to buy at will continue waiting for those low prices and if some day they get lucky and that price was actually achieved they start being scared and want a lower price. but eventually as the price rise inevitably happens they know they have missed all their chances again so they will start buying again. I expect to see this around $9500 and definitely above $10k with a large wave of FOMO buyers who were wishing to buy at $7000 but didn't do it to buy then.

That's the crypto world for you and at times you gain and at times you see the other side of it,so all you need is to focus on present situation not past.

We need to faced that our current year now is 2018 and we need to admit that in the past years won't be comeback again so let's focused in what we have now in our present time. The most important now is the present so now whatever the value it is we have nothing do with that and all we have to do is keep supporting it even we have experienced difficulties because for sure there comes the time that it will perform better again and reach it's full recovery so all of us will be much benefited in the future.

The worst thing is when you bought btc that year and sold it with a little bit of profit, but still very cheap, almost nothing compared to price pump later.

I think bitcoin has reached its peak and will never rise or fall. and I am very sure that in the coming year there will be other coins that follow the bitcoin price but cannot exceed bitcoin.

It is really annoying and funny at times to hear those people whining and talking what could've happened to their lives if they bought early. I also heard bitcoin during the time it was introduced but I didn't mind it. I was just too busy doing my other stuffs that time.

People are always stuck in past just because it presented some advantages forgetting that the present has its own advantages. Hahaha! It does get annoying does it? I think the only way to stop them from wishing is if a time machine was created and that they can go back! The price from almost a decade ago will no longer happen. We are about to enter 2019 in a few months and what we should be doing instead of wishing is deal with what's infront of us today. Most of us I believe wants to turned during 2009 when the price of the bitcoin is lower 1 dollars or cents only. Because maybe I see bitcoin on 2009 and I know price become rich I buy hunreds thousands pieces of bitcoin and I become billionaire.

YEs, I agree with OP wherein wishing about bitcoin investment from when it had started is no longer necessary since I believe what matter's most is now. Just act early if you want to invest in btc since wishing backwards could not help you make your goal achievable in cryptocurrency. In the near future, btc price would not be the same as the present and therefore you need to do it now so you will no longer regret that you haven't push through with your btc investment.

I think this issue of I wish followed by regrets is very common with every cryptocurrency investor. There will always be some point you will regret after missing to buy at a cheap price.

It is not a bad thing to wish but it is a bad thing not to take action when necessary, especially when you still have the opportunity. Bitcoin has the capacity to increase tremendously in price and many people will yet wish they bought in the year 2018.

It's a bad practice to continue holding on to the past. That so-called "2009 opportunity" is history and we all have to deal with that. The best solution we can give ourselves is to take definitive actions and get in now to prevent any further future regrets.

Based on this we know the price of btc when it was in 2009 that it is different case but now it is 2018 the scenario of the market changes drastically so it is not possible to get coin in that price and mostly newbie’s wishing such types of things and in future BTC price will be more than present.

Nothing to do here, a lot of people in the crypto field are in frustration, because of the bad situation of the crypto market. some people wish to see every month bitcoin at 20K USD again, and new people think 7K USD is very high, they wish if they can go to back in 2009! Peoples wishes & expectation is unlimited now peoples think bitcoin price is much more and they don't wanna purchase on $7k  because they wish price fall down for $3k but its not possible soon they will regret when price will touch on $17k in upcoming months because we are watching market is in downtrend since 8 months ans soon market will follow bullish trend. so we need to live in reality we can't go back in 2009 and can't purchase bitcoin with $0.01 price.

We can't really stop that thinking as it is there biggest "What If?" moment in the cryptocurrency industry. It symbolizes a big missed opportunity they neve really have the chance to take as a lot of people who have bought BTC by that time might sold it for something crazy during the 9 years of its existence. Its true that we should not even think about the last years price because most of the people stick to it and believe that something similar will happen this year too. They think that bitcoin may be hitting the 20K by this december because it was the case when 2017 December came in with those ATH rates. People won't stop wishing as they keep dreaming to earn huge without working for it. They are afraid to take risk and always regret because time passed by and never get it back the same again. I often get people that ask me this question, " So, when did you start buying bitcoins? " and my answer is always, " I have never stopped buying. "

They usually look very puzzled after I make that statement and then I explain to them that the Bitcoin price might go up to $50 000 or even $100 000 and I want to have as many bitcoins as possible, before we reach that price. Someone I met once told me that who so ever introduced me to bitcoin and bitcointalk is the most important person to me after God. I knew bitcoin when it was $300. But I  did not take it serious. I am investing now.  Grab the opportunity now.

Well you cant easily blame those people and if im not mistakin , you guys do also wanted it to happen . thats not bad to dream of those moments because all of us do always wanted to get rich .  its not only about crypto but many of us do also want to travel back on the past because we want to fix change or fix something .

I'm confused with your statement here. Perhaps you meant that bitcoin is going strong at the current price but you are sad because its not hitting all-time-high just like year. You need to change your perception because the price is based on a lot of factors and it won't go on a parabolic rise. Well I'm making the most of my time in crypto and I saved enough and wait till the price goes on another massive bull run. It might not be in 2018, though but I'm willing to stay around. There are many people know bitcoin since 2 or 3 years ago. They are still wishing they had bought bitcoin at 2009. They had missed many opportunities in these 2 or 3 years. The best think any one can do is take a action right now. There are many opportunities.

Maybe it is true, but maybe if it happen to us, when we see price in 2014 some of us might already sell our coins because increase more than 100% is already big for many people. And no need to regret because we know bitcoin just now.

I am not worrying because I never knew bitcoin by that time. so i don't feel guilty. but in recent past I felt guilty when I didnt buy NEO when it was at $5  ;) what to do? we shouldn't worry about the past. must focus on the future.

Those people are time wasters, there are always lamenting an opportunity that they did not took after the fact, it is very easy to see at which point you should have bought your coins once a lot of time has passed, but it's really difficult to know at which point you need to buy if you are really trying to earn money with your decisions, the people that you're talking about just love complaining more than they love making money.

And even if a price of 5000 appeared then they will want to have a price of 4000, the price is never going to be low enough for them and if it was then they are going to be afraid to buy bitcoin because now they will think that the price will crash to zero.

i wish is something that has always been said by people that like considering the yesterdays. when opportunities come and you are not able to take advantage of it, it is best you allow it walk by and pray and hope and also prepare for the newer opportunity that is about to present it self

That's already part of the past. A misopportunity for other people who already know bitcoin during that time and misopportunity for others too who missed that chance of knowing bitcoin. It's time to move on and i know it's not yet too late to join the party.

I couldn't agree more. There is no point in wishing that you bought bitcoin way back 2009 for a reason that time will not go back and we cannot undo the history. It is more appropriate and the best way to focus on today and future becasue focusing in that will lead you to the income or profit you desire rather than regreting the things you should do. The year now is 2018, if you can't get over in 2009 there is a lot more opportunity in the present and next years so start investing and building now so that you won't have regrets later on.

Lol. You cannot actually take the word I wish from people. They will always be wishing they had done this or that without focusing on the next available opportunity. When it eludes them again, they immediately start another round of wishing.

Wishing things like this is a pretty naive outlook. If you had any wishes why would it be to go back and merely just buy bitcoin. Why not go back and invent bitcoin, or Microsoft or Facebook etc or buy every winning lottery ticket you could. I get why people regret these things as they feel like they've missed out on an easy and reachable way they could have got insanely rich very quick, but instead of dwelling on the past just look to the future and try spot the next new big thing. That is obviously never as easy as it sounds but it wasn't for those who choose to get involved with bitcoin back when they did and hindsight is always 20-20.

This is the absolute truth. The time is now and I see every time as a good time to buy btc. The market has shown a great sign that it is cyclical in nature and so I don't see the point wishing you had joined in 2009.

Past won't come back even how hard you wish for it. People who are in bitcoin from 2009 are lucky if they believe in bitcoin potential from that because price is cheaper than it has today. Each one of us has it's own path that clock to take but if bitcoin and your path have not crossed last 2009, then you got nothing to regret for. Only those whose paths were crossed with bitcoin's path may regret of not taking the opportunity to invest on it when its price were actually below 1$ yet.

There are so many rumors about the Bitcoin price and the Bitcoin term. However, in order to make the decision to invest in the crypto market you should think carefully. 2019 may be the start of Bitcoin.

The people that lament the opportunities that they lost tend to focus on the past and on what it was, they do not realize that even right now with the market as it is, there are many opportunities to make money if they just look for them, but they do not want to do that because that is hard work, if you want to find opportunities to make money you cannot just sit on your chair and lament about what it could have been.

Most of us missed the opportunity of 2009 and even till 2015 when Bitcoin price was still very low. I wish I was in then. But I have to forge ahead.

I wish i could have invested in BTC a long time back but that is in the past. Now i have to focus on the present and work with the data i have now, not what was 10 years ago. The reality is you alway have to adapt to current market conditions and also adapt your plans to the market.

because the market continues to fall and has not risen or at least recovered, some of them expect prices to drop to $ 0.01 as in 2009, and then want to buy it again with a large amount for long-term hold and the event at the end of 2017 can be repeated. but that won't happen, if you hope the value of bitcoin will return to the moon, the current price is ideal enough to help you get profit later on. hope that the return to $ 0.01 is impossible.

Honestly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wishing that we could go back to 2009 in order to purchase Bitcoin at its crazy low price since almost everyone love to dream and who doesn't dream on becoming a millionaire through crypto?

I have thought on multiple occasions about inventing a time travel machine like the Delorean( ;D) and travelling back to 2009 in order to purchase some Bitcoins and retire happily in the future.

I think good practice would be to sell off only a portion every time, and always rebuy if it drops. If it goes up, you still have 40-50-60% of the initial coins. I made a mistake of selling most of it 2013-2015 that I got from mining, but still kept an amount enough to cash some in the near 20k ATH boom. I am always keeping at least 30% of the coins, and investing 10% every month from my paycheck. I know BTC will go back past 20k, but it might be a few years. I somehow still feel it is not too late to have good investment gain with BTC.

The people buys at that year 2009 probably became rich buy now. I heard it if i am not mistaken its $0.1 wayback in 2009. Investors now makes huge money out of it since it reaches its peak price upto $14k in december 2017 just wow! If anyone has 1million usd for their capital maybe its hundreds of millions at that time.

However, its been a years so we have to faced the reality today that bitcoin could and could not happened it again, because of many factors that affect the bitcoin price we did not know how high and low the possible outcome of bitcoin price, its always been a right price at the right moment.

I don't really blame them that much for such complains. It is usually difficult to come to the reality of accepting things as they are without thinking of the missed opportunities.

Is 6k to much to pay for something that could be worth 100k? I don’t understand some people’s thinking. I can imagine a world in which children born 10 years from now grow up into adults and could only dream of buying bitcoin for 20k.

Price movements are sometimes quite random. Nobody really knew in 2009 what was going to happen. Imagine if you would have bought 1000 bitcoins then, and paid 10 dollars. Now they would be worth over six million dollars.  :o

It is still never too late to buy Bitcoin. If you wished you had bought Bitcoin in 2009 and now has come to terms with its concept and investment, you can still buy more now as the price is relatively lower than the true potentials of Bitcoin. Never wait till bull market comes when the price rises.

I really agree with what you say, don't look at the past try to think about what we can do right now and can be useful for us now and in the future. Opportunities are always there and we must be good at seeing opportunities and using them well. The price of bitcoin is down, there is an opportunity for us to buy bitcoin and plan for the future, because one day the price of bitcoin will definitely rise higher and may exceed the highest price it has ever had.

Im not one of the people that keeps on wishing that they brought bitcoin on the past because i myself is already contented on what i earned in crypto even though i only discovered crypto on the year 2017 and if im not mistakin , 2017 is also the year that cryptos have been given a big break when compared to their past years of existence .

So overall im still happy and contented because my arrival is on time and i dont miss any special happenings although i only regret that im late joining on this forum.

We can't really turn back time but those idiots are still hoping and trying to play dumb about bitcoin going back to be a worthless coin which is so impossible. I wish bitcoin will reach $100k not going back to cents per coin. All we need to do is just hope and pray that bitcoin will have a bullrun for that's the only time that we can profit.
