You should fix SSL (mixed content) and not open your mysql port to the whole world. Automatic redirect to https + HSTS would be nice too, especially when you are putting up a SSL seal.

I do everything via command line, I'm not a GUI drag and drop guy, I'm old school :) Your system can't handle jailing users for ssh? It's about the only thing I ever know :( I can't stand FTP programs at all, if there was one I do use it's WinSFTP as long as you allowed me to use SSH then I would use that. There's no security risk if you jailed a user to SSH, meaning they can't go outside of their ~/home/username/ directory. (I have 18 years as a Sr. Linux Administrator under my belt)

Unlimited storage, unmetered bandwidth, they are marketing strategies, there is not hard disk with unlimited disk space, there is not data center or dedicated server with unmetered bandwidth, there is not CPU with unlimited processing speed and ....

He is right. At some point, the company is going to contact you and suspend your account for abuse, even if its unlimited.
