Title: Phishing warning: Tor hidden service claiming to be Instawallet Post by: jav on October 27, 2011, 11:16:44 AM I just got alerted by a user, that there is a tor hidden service at the address http://zgnbvbgfmoew7uz3.onion/ which claims to be Instawallet. From what I can tell, it always displays the same Bitcoin address: 1Pk9J8gbfvrLt27shdAMxBn21gdJsXGxCK .
This is _not_ the real Instawallet server! Instawallet does not run a tor hidden service and the only way to access the real service is through https://www.instawallet.org . Not much you can do besides warn users. But don't do like Mike Caldwell, and mail a warning to the mtgox leak list or else you'll get a shitstorm of morons bashing you for trying to protect them from being scammed. |
