Title: Money Matters
Post by: Adebits on September 07, 2018, 11:02:33 AM
Isn't it interesting that those who pontificate that "Money is not everything" usually have money?

Be broke for a few weeks unable to pay your bills, pay rent and afford basic necessities, and then let's see if you'd still hold the same position about money.

Let us be sincere and stop fooling around; MONEY IS SOMETHING! A very huge something!! At least in this present world. Might not be a big deal in another world. But in this world? Save me the sermon.

Without money in this world, rarely does anything get done. In fact, many things suffer needlessly without money. Even the Bible is flat-out frank enough to recognize the fact that money answers all things in the context of this present world. It doesn't say money is "the answer to all things" but it answers all things.

So please, before you sermonize me that money is not everything or that money is no big deal, credit my blockchain address with one thousand units of Bitcoin and forget about it. Then I'd believe you. In fact, I'd sing it along with you...money ain't nothing!

Not always. I think a lot of people who say this actually don't have much money. After all, what good is money if you're miserable? Money can't buy you happiness and most people know that with or without having much themselves, but it does often make your life more comfortable.

Be broke for a few weeks unable to pay your bills, pay rent and afford basic necessities, and then let's see if you'd still hold the same position about money.

So if you had enough money for those things you'd be truly happy? If money is the only thing that is stopping you from happiness then all you need to do is find a job. Lucky you.

Let us be sincere and stop fooling around; MONEY IS SOMETHING! A very huge something!! At least in this present world. Might not be a big deal in another world. But in this world? Save me the sermon.

Nobody is saying money is nothing. It is something. It's just not everything. I would rather have my health than a million in my bank. Money cannot buy you your health.

So please, before you sermonize me that money is not everything or that money is no big deal, credit my blockchain address with one thousand units of Bitcoin and forget about it. Then I'd believe you. In fact, I'd sing it along with you...money ain't nothing!

Why don't you earn it? You can still be of the opinion that money isn't everything but not want to give it away to prove a point. Some people work very hard for their money and know the value of it.

In my opinion, money is something that to provides the needs of our family. Life is more comfortable if we can buy what we need to. We are very thankful in bitcoin because we can earn extra income. It is in our hands on how to spend money.

wow, i think op has a lot of things going on, blunt but true though, i feel you, having money today is so very important, if a person has no money, he is good as a dead man, but let us be frank too, having money is not evil, we are breathing, we need to eat, we need clothes and shelter in order to survive but men are evil themselves if they are not contented with all his money in banks and still want to earn more by fooling or stepping into others. having money and greed for money is different from one another.

Some people have their money a lot of money but their problem is also security since criminals will steal it from them and that what's make people stress specially when they value money more than anything else...
Money matter since we have need everyday but people forget to give value about also other things beside money and that's what give them problem...

Yes, money is something but you don't have to be enslaved by it. Other's work very hard but earn little, while others became successful. So its important in life that you have money, specially at the current global situations, without money, you will be nothing, suffering will be your everyday companion and it doesn't feel good.

I'm not 100% certain on the psychology of money. It is possible those with money say: "time is money" while those who lack prefer: "money isn't everything". When consumers can't afford things they might counsel themselves by saying: "money isn't everything". As if to declare they benefit on a non material level by lacking the funds necessary to afford things.

A long time ago, I read a book written by Robert Kiyosaki where he discusses these topics. The relationship between things people say and how it affects their psychology and attitude about money. Which in turn affects their potential for generating income and being successful on a financial, investment or business perspective.

I think money can represent a metric for measuring time, space, productivity and other intangibles. The more money a person has the more time they have, the farther they can travel and they can achieve a greater amount of work(productivity). Money is little different from a wrench or a pair of scissors. Its a tool utilized by higher primates.

Where things might get a bit weird is when people begin to worship it. Where money defines a persons entire existence: their values, mentality and worldview. To a point where people are willing to do and say anything, compromise every aspect of themselves and their lives to get it. Maybe money can represent a trap in that regard.

Without money, of course, very bad.Without them nothing can be done I agree with You.Money in our time still solve a lot of problems. If you have money then at least you have a good education, the opportunity to travel to different countries and most importantly you are not hungry.Unfortunately in our twenty-first century there are still ,,starvation deaths, and I believe this is unacceptable.

At the end of the day, rich people can also say that "money is not everything" especially if they obtained their riches by trampling others(for example a corrupt politician or a drug lord who is not happy with their life).
Isn't it interesting that those who pontificate that "Money is not everything" usually have money?
While I do disagree with Hydrogen's point at some degree, I can at least say that those who are poor also console themselves by saying the same thing thus making everyone able to pontificate that statement.

Those people who said that money is not everything are spiritual people. They claim that it is not everything because sometimes money cannot heal you from a fatal disease. Therefore, health is what matters most. I would say that money is everything and not everything at the same time. Money can buy you whatever you need in your life. But it cannot prevent you from death or catching a terminal disease. Everyone has their own perspective. You think money is everything, while people think otherwise.

The quest for money has become a very serious issue everybody looks after. In this era, if you have no money to live with, life becomes somehow for you to cope with.

Only the rich can relate to the expression 'Money can't buy everything' but to us, the middle class, the bourgeoisie, the slaves of the corporate world or whatever it is, money is a huge help to our needs and growing pains. Rich people's problems are limited to the non-material things while the poor and the middle-class is mainly centered around money. The fine line between rich and poor is ever so growing, and the rich still has the audacity to 'motivate' people by these 'powerful words' that are keys to success.

People in this time need money more than ever, as more and more capitalists are banding together to make more money while the rest of the world are left behind. Money might not save you from death, buy you unconditional love or save you from depression, but at least money will help you live a decent life while you're at it.

Good point, looks like money is at least some sort of a gateway to happiness. Although it can never replace loved ones, like family.

It is impossible to live without money if you live in a society where everything depends on money. We need to pay for everything what is necessary for life and that include food, water, electric energy, health care and many other things. If you have no money to pay for all that you will have terribly hard life probably on the street. Only way that the money does not play a major role in our life is to try move out from civilization and live life by the nature and from the nature.

But even in such case money can not be completely expelled from the equation of life, humans are just create such a society in which we depend on money. Problem is that some let's say 5% of human population hold 90% of world wealth, they have so much money that at one point it becomes a trivial thing for them.

Truth to this is that money can prolong health or sustain it until it is time for death to come.

Even the Bible is flat-out frank enough to recognize the fact that money answers all things in the context of this present world. It doesn't say money is "the answer to all things" but it answers all things.

I hope you have also read a portion of the bible where it says that, the love of money is the root of all evil?

Surely, money is very good but we have to be moderate in our chase for money.

very difficult perception. lots of opinions, and that's the right of every human being to comment. we don't need to argue with this reality.money is important, we live with money.
but on the other hand there are still more important things, and this is a fact that all must be balanced. money, love, nature, god and people. without this balance all I'm sure there is happiness ...
hopefully our day is always fun ... ::) ::)

We all know how important money is. You use it for food and different expenses, so how do you really shut this people that say that > MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING. GET OVER IT<. You answer with an argument, well when do you have no money? If they answered never, then you can tell them to shut it. It is as simple as that. They will never know our struggles. They won't because just like the church who has a lot of money to give to the poor to help them, they won't help them because THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO. And that is how the wealth of the world is inevitably shared wrong.

Money truly doesn't make you happy.  So many people are obssessed with material items and money it makes me sick.  A lot of people have serious mental health problems , ( the ones that own 50+ supercars, megayachts, etc, they could do so much more to help society flourish.

When a person is about to die they don't look back on their lives thinking about how much money they had, they think about their good memories and relationships they had.

Money is everything for everyone to satisfy the desires of lust he wants. However, money cannot give satisfaction and happiness to someone, those who have a lot of money have not received happiness in their lives. I found a lot of people in my country and they didn't put their lives too much on money, they still had happiness without the money they had. Rich in heart, is someone I mean, if you find that person then you will understand what is meant by 'money is not everything' but if you live in an environment that has a prestige towards his lifestyle then you will deny that response.

I can feel you, went on several bouts of financial problems myself. But it gives me valuable lesson. Money is very important aspect specially at the current state of the world we live now. It is how people are going to judge you in the society. Obviously, if you are have money, you have influence and power. On the contrary being poor, you will be frown upon by the community.

A good discussion though. Yes money matters!!! I have come across worst situations and truly felt from within that money is everything. I would say parents love and siblings love is next / very least. Just money is enough to bring back everything. Your loved ones will keep you aside when you do not have money and will hug you when you have money. I am sure everyone here has the same experience. May be more than i experienced. Those who have such experience will know the meaning of money and will be generous to help others as well.

I like it when you said that credit your account with thousand units of bitcoin. LOLZ.

Surely no one will do it and to be honest each and every person on the earth is striving to earn money and nothing else. They are here because they want some profits out of it. When it comes to the money everyone becomes very much selfish or more or less egoist about it. The secret keeping has become words first thing when people find out some way of making passive money. From that only one can see how things are coming down to the money.

Money is the ultimate. No money, there is no peace. Money can do anything to you. There were times spend time without even a dollar. Had to face many things, leave out relatives, were hated, were separated, lost image, name and reputations. But when money kept falling in my wallet, everything vanished. Those who parted away from me, came back knowing i am ok now. I then realized, money is real and everything else is fake.

I agree with your point and like your post, especially the part about saving the sermon. Any way you look at it, it is better to cry in a Cadillac than on a bus. On the other hand, money is not everything when you already have enough of it as you rightfully noted. When all your basic needs and necessities are satisfied (like shelter, food, water), you start to care about other things which are less tied to the possession of sufficient amount of money, things like hobbies, relationships, children, societal things, etc. So let me sum it up for you. Money is not everything but it is definitely a large part of it.

I totally agree with the OP, money most certainly matters particularly as we get older.
Its a matter of extremes and balance. There are extremes of wealth in this world and
its balance which is almost impossible to achieve.

Without money we simply struggle in a world which is constantly growing more commercial.
Difficulties accessing education and health services can be impossible for those without
access to finances.

The extremes are evident and are constantly expanding as the rich get richer and the poor
get poorer. So yes money does matter to those who have it because they are hell bent
On making more and to those who have none and struggle to get some.

It is actually high time we stopped deceiving ourselves. Most times you hear people saying money is nothing, I hate such statements. Without money, you are NOTHING.
Definitely. If you dont have money you cant do anything and as the worls as it is now, everything revolves around money.
I agree. With money, everything is possible. You can have your dream house, dream car,and lots of luxurious things. That's why we should learn how to value even a small amount of money because we work hard for it just to have some money for our daily's survival.

Money are incredibly important in the modern world. Actually money define a life for everybody. By the way I like compare money with energy because such a comparison afford me to understand the sense of money much better. I know that money is an artificial thing which does not exist in the nature but anyway we live in the society and namely in the society money are incredible important because our current world is build in such the way that money are really important for living.

Money can't buy happiness or love, as one will argue.
It can "buy" you a peace of mind which is probably one of the most important aspects in life, at least for me. Not having to worry about money during situations without income is what we all aim to achieve.

You can either keep struggling your entire life with a mediocre salary that just gets the bills paid, or you try to put all your effort into becoming financially independent. People's mistake is that they settle for the first option.

With that first option it's difficult to be happy because you always think about what if this or that happens and I no longer have an income. It's horrible and stresses people out more and more every day, especially in current times.

That being said, we'll always suffer from something, regardless of how poor or rich you are. I am of believe that suffering while being financially independent is better than suffering with a mediocre salary.

Obviously money matters. People do literally anything for it. Whilst I don't like to believe Money should matter for all scenarios, it does and I can't do shit about it. Money has only brought in a fucked up mindset, made things worse everywhere possible ;and has caused more and more division.

You don't understand the saying "money is not everything" very well. Your arguments are fine, but has no contrast with the saying.

Yup, time has changed and there is more importance to the money rather than people and emotions in this world. I mean money is the only thing for which people are working day and night and believe me this is truth , the bitter one and is true in all senses.

Many people think that it is not, but they should look after the real world and jump in to see how money plays important roles in the world.

I recognize that money is a very important thing. But we should not be doing illegal things for money. We should only earn enough to pay the cost and have a good life, we should not be too greedy. Because money will not follow us when we die. So do not overdo it, use the currency wisely so that they become meaningful.

With the poor people, money can do so much more than money can bring happiness to you. For example, if you want to follow passion, you must have the money to buy the tools to help you do so can not say that money is nothing, it really has a place in this important life.

Money is the reason why we are here. Money is essential for our survival in this material world. Whether we accept it or not, but most of the time we are greedy when it comes to money. It is just normal since it will be so hard gor us to deal this world without it.

It is impossible to live without money if you live in a society where everything depends on money.

It is practically impossible in today's capitalistic society, but money isn't actually essential and there are other ways to function without it, but money is the best system we currently have.

We need to pay for everything what is necessary for life and that include food, water, electric energy, health care and many other things. If you have no money to pay for all that you will have terribly hard life probably on the street. Only way that the money does not play a major role in our life is to try move out from civilization and live life by the nature and from the nature.

In the society we live today this is true (and is probably the most ideal way), but what did people do before money existed? We used a bartering or trade system. For instance, you have a cow and you exchange it with someone else for six months worth of corn or something. Or an electrician would re-wire your house if you did all the painting and decorating in theirs. A granny might swap you a sweater she knitted in exchange for your beef jerky you made and so on and so forth. That's how it worked in the old days but it wasn't an ideal system but it worked well enough for the time so like it or not 'money' is probably the best thing we have right now..

But even in such case money can not be completely expelled from the equation of life, humans are just create such a society in which we depend on money. Problem is that some let's say 5% of human population hold 90% of world wealth, they have so much money that at one point it becomes a trivial thing for them.

Obviously greed and materialism is a huge issue but that's never going to change and greed is as old as mankind itself. I think as a society we should be better educated about the sickness that is greed and materialism. Do we really need flashy cars and super expensive clothes? Not at all. Look at the root cause of why people actually want to spend $250 on some Gucci flip flops or $250k on a Lamborghini. I know why people do, though: insecurity. Buying such things as designer clothing and Lambo's is called conspicuous consumption and is done so as a status symbols to show how 'wealthy' you are to others.

Yes money matters a lot because thats what I feel everyday. I mean from the time I step outside my apartment then I have to pay for my taxi, then have to cash the tube train and then go grab the coffee, work the whole day, go for lunch in between and even snacks and then return back to house. Again take my family outside and tell you what, every bit of this action will take money to complete it. This is what happens all the time. You need money in your life all the time and thats why it is important. So yes mate, money matters a lot.  :D

A lot of people hold the belief that life is not all about making money. Yes, but surely no one will ever survive especially those trying times without money as their priority goal in life. Money matters just like how love, friends, family are. Money has the value in order for people to seek and survive. Money isn't just a coin, a paper or anything else, because money itself is the reason for every individuals to cope up to this changing life.

I'd sing it along with you...money ain't nothing!
Steve Jobs' last words;

“I  reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.

In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god of death drawing closer …

Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth

Blah..Blah..Blah"

Bad news, it was just a hoax. But only them who acquired the most have the ability to say it!

Only the poor will understand this song.

"If I hadn't seen such riches
I could live with being poor"

Sit Down (https://youtu.be/D9dVBcPTa9w) by James.

Money answers all things, Being rich does not means we will not die neither being poor will lead to immutability. Be rich and leave a healthy life style and still have respect and regard to everyone that comes your way.

Financial problem is the most common problem in here and that's where the quatation money ain't nothing. There's no fallacy here, usually those people don't say that money is nothing, they understand that it's very hard to be poor, what they are actually saying is that not everything in this world is about money, there are things that can not be bought with them. Sometimes money can even be a burden because some people will want to be around only because of your money (another reason why privacy is important). There are many poor people who are actually happier than some of the rich, that's the point of the phrase "money is not everything".

Get enough then get out.
Buy foods for your relatives and also some things when you are still good with your budget. It doesnt mean you want something in return.
It should just be how life is in this world. You feel good when you share it. Who doesn't?

It should just be the provision for living in this world but you still need someone else. A human. Not just things.

There is someone who are able to live without a lot of money and still able to ejoy the live, but there is someone who are living through hell cause short of money. I believe money is important cause im not rich and i got a dream that need a lot of money and i do still working on it. The funny thing about this one is you will never know how much one thing is important to you not until you lose it. You will not appreciate what money is doing to you not until you loss considerably. You'll never know how much your hands is useful to you not until you lose just even one hand. This is the hard truth people never see the importance of one thing not until they experience to lose it. This you will see that if something is missing in your life, what you are used to doing is changed because of it.

Maybe for someone who lives in a modern life will say money is everything, and for those who have abundant money who will say money is not everything. let's see in the rural areas that have not been touched by modernization where the population does not know smartphones or electricity, like the badui tribe that I have read the story, where they forbid anything modern entered their territory and if there were residents interested with modern life, they were asked to leave the area

There are a lot of tribes that still live without money. I think they actually have a better life than most people, the hunter gatherer lifestyle is much less stressful than modern life.

Life is not about paying rent, bills etc. Money could be seen as everything till you get money, those with money still suffer in different ways because you are just at different level with different needs, desires, worries etc.

I think you should see the matrix movie again  ;D. Money may be everything but there is something bigger then this exists, Something really really big. and that stuff is called time so if you can use your time well then the equation TIME == MONEY becomes true. And I can stay a year without time but if I spend a year wasting my time then it is surely gonna kill me. Even if you do not earn money then also you can get food and other services if you invest your time in something. Although money and time have a very close relationship still they are not equal.

Money matters because we have made it our primary mean of exchange and also because in current society it is roughly equivalent to political power as well due to the way we organize ourselves. I think money is different than wealth though, as the value of fiat money can quickly decrease.

So yes, money matters just as long as it has a central place in our society, as long as we collectively decide it matters but there are certainly things that matter much more in the end.

We are all here for the money. All of us!

I can tell myself now that without bitcoin we can not find any money, so we're here with bitcoin to get more revenue. and It is in our hands how we can sustain our money.

THe truth is that money really isn't everything, but it's also true that most of the things in this life cost money and you need them, some are the kind that you can't lieve without, like, food and water, followed by less important things like shelter, a bed, etc. All that cost money and you will feel more accomplish once you got from the base of the needs pyramid (Maslow hierarchy of needs) to the top of it. But all cost money in a way or another (maybe friends and love don't but usually to get there you need to feed yourself first)

There is a saying that money is the root of all evil. Money is important but having a good attitude is the best, even if you have a lot of money but your attitude is bad its nothing.

Then some people say that money is nothing for example in conditions he already has a lot of money or people who are in death. I only respect their opinions even though we have different opinions and I don't want people to force their about meaning of money.

Even within perfect capitalsm ideals money and its worth varies considerably over time and with perspective valuations are incorrect.    There is no great wealth in accumulating something which can become worthless.

Paper money can and almost certainly long term does become worthless.   Thats not your wealth.  Money is transitory in enabling the purchase or payment of bills.  Recognise this and I think its possible to become richer or at least waste less

I'll tell you as someone very poor at times in my life, money means most when it ensures security.   When you have money for a house and food and ability to care for your family then you are very rich compared to the poorest in the world.

The irony to extreme riches is they can lose those valuable things.    All this thinking also explains the worth of gold I think, a total luxury but useful in exchange

We live in a rough physical world and to ensure our existence, the existence of our loved ones, we need material goods that are valued in monetary terms. That's why we need money in any case. However, it is necessary to maintain balance with the spiritual world. The physical world is a temporary phenomenon for our soul, a fragment of its existence. Therefore, it is necessary that the non-material prevail over the spiritual, and on the contrary, the spiritual, which is more voluminous for the meaning of our life, has a priority of our life before the material.

For me it is not about hoarding huge amount of money through banks and vaults but it is about something that we can spend everytime we need it. Yes, each and everyone of us dreamed of having those riches others has been experienced through their lifetime but it doesn't mean money will become our god in this world. Less fortunate people like me hope to reach that goal of becoming or having financial freedom. Always remember that it is not too old to dream and it's for free.

Exactly! If you don't want to hear a sermon from others then don't do the same. Do not strongly emphasize that "money is everything" like your pushing others to absorb it because first and foremost, each one of us got own perceptions about this matter so you should respect it.

Nevertheless, its's awesome because you are a practical and realistic person. Believe it or not, we have the same sentiment about this issue. I also see Money as one of the most powerful things in this world, I am not that hypocrite type to say that Love matters the most blah blah blah. With this, you can buy everything you wanted, it makes you famous instantly, and also makes you an influential person. What are you wishing for while having a life like that? Nothing ;D. But of course, I still do believe that money is the only source of happiness because as long as I can see people who are still smiling despite of their hard times with financial aspects of life then that's enough reason to conclude that MONEY do not run this world alone.

Let's accept the reality that money is something. If you reach to the point that you don't have something to eat because you don't have something to pick on your pocket, you'll say strange words which is real "if I had money... I would love to buy".

This can happen during at your lowest and you experience on how it feels when you don't have money.

People who reached the peak and became financial free can say that money isn't everything but how about to the less fortunate people that can't even avail their own clothes. We are saying different POV about this money matter but if you are on the situation, that would tell you the reality.

You seem to love money so much that you even capitalized that word, wow. I'm not going to be a hypocrite here either but it looks like you are putting the cart before the horse here. It is not money that makes you influential, in real life it is other way around. You have money because you are influential. As they say, at first publicity, then prosperity. Money cannot buy power, power is the ultimate thing on the scale of material values, and it can only be taken by force or otherwise, not bought directly (though money can definitely help you with that).

This has been known since Ancient Rome, and no amount of money could prevent you from being proscribed when things came to that. In fact, the more money you had, the higher were your chances to be declared an enemy of the state, for example, in the times of mass proscription under Sulla, a Roman dictator.

Very true, money solves a lot of needs and want, so if you do not have it, it is more like you having more worries to bear on your shoulder. The only thing is that a lot of people serve money and they tend to pursue it at all cost by whatever means they could which is where the bad aspect comes in. Money will helps solve a lot of things, even if it does not solve all, but rather than making yourself being a slave to you, with smartness, you can make money to always be at your beck and call. But certainly, money is something even if it is not everything.

Surely, money is very good but we have to be moderate in our chase for money.

We need to control the maturity on how are we going to save and secure the money will use for the right thing. Yes we are not in demand as always but handle it with positive thinking that we need to keep and save for more neccesary needs in the upcoming time.

But that is the entire fault of the people, you do not need to be some kind of genius to earn enough money to sustain yourself and to be able to retire at a relatively young age, but people get in debt not understanding that they not only need to pay that money but they will pay with interest, and they will pay those products several times over, so people have a tendency to use their money in a very inefficient way and that is what keeps them poor.

When they don't have enough money yet, I am sure at some point their goal is to have enough money to have a comfortable life and when the time comes that they are financially free, they need to find a new goal because after all, what we yearn in this world is happiness and satisfaction and if you don't have a goal in your life then your soul will be weaken.

Money is everything and some people think that it needs big money to start with the crypto world which is not true. It is the same as building a wall so you can start with less investment and can make it better with the passage of time, start buying less valuable Litecoin and proceed for further investment in the Bitcoin with your profit. So money does not matter more if you know how to handle things which matters a lot.

Nowadays money is needed for daily needs, we need to know that it is unfortunate that there are still many people lazing around to make money and rely on giving and not wanting to work, even though achieving success requires hard work in any case including making money, so money is very important and is needed for life.

Yes.I agree.Money is important because we use it to buy something in order for us to survive.Money matters that is why people always strive to get some money even by doing it wrongfully.Money matters but it can not buy love and happiness.
The importance of money can be determined by this one fact that it brings you food which is the basic need. You do not even get the basic needs if you do not have money to spend.

It almost influences all the decision you make in life including deciding about which coin to invest in and how much to invest in. Moreover, the natural resources is what that imparts the value to the money. They say you would not be able to eat money when the last tree is cut down.

Yes, money is very important. I hold my portfolio in cryptocurrency as long as I can if I don't need money but when it really needs I don't hesitate my self to convert it all in fiat. Last week I badly need money but I don't have any options to have that's why I convert my bitcoin into fiat even market is low just to have a money. I saw that I have lost 40% on my holding bitcoin but no choice rather than I can't pay my bills at that time. So, money is very important at all.

In itself money is useless. But since it could be exchanged for goods and services then that becomes valuable. But if a person has access to all the goods and services they need then they wouldn't need money anymore. In a sense, money isn't everything in life. Money is a major thing, bit not necessarily everything in life.

But things are not really happening that way aren't they? I mean money always matters no matter what you say about it. In the current era where things are getting so much costlier day by day you have to have the money your hands. Whether it is emergency case or whether it is family holiday, you all need money for that. There is no free treatment in this world which is free an there is no lunch box which comes free of cost. You always need money in all the situation mate. Also in the life there is no one who will come to your help if you stuck anywhere and this is not coming out of thin air, but I am saying it with my own experience.

Money doesn't have to be used for a lot of times, but there are more options for having money.
Only one sentence is enough: only if you have economic freedom, you are qualified to pursue other freedoms.
The different pursuits of money stem from the different definitions of “economic freedom”.

Too true. But then again, they have the authority to say that "money doesn't matter" because at some point they did experience having no money then experienced having money and back again. Maybe they realized that at both points in their lives they remained happy or not happy. But I'd rather cry in a lambo than cry walking.
It is a known fact that after big events in your life, whether these events are positive or negative, after some time your levels of happiness will go back to normal, so if you are a happy person you will be happy regardless of the amount of money that you have, and if you are a person that is in a state of depression you will be depressed regardless of the amount of money that you have, that is why some people say that money doesn't matter because it doesn't make you happy in the long term, but we know we need money for our survival so we know it matters.

I think the money has a binary character. 1. With money many doors are opened, because for example, you can leave your parents' house and start living on your own which could make you a lot happier. (not the case for everyone.
2. Happines does not always come with money, there are a ton of situations people are unhappy because they work their ass off hating every day of their life just to get that great promotion or just to be able to earn a lot of money once they reached a certain goal (graduating for instance).

So again, it's binary. This discussion is endless.

Money matter since we have need everyday but people forget to give value about also other things beside money and that's what give them problem...
money that usually gives us a problem is money that results from crime, even though in terms of the amount it may be very much but cannot make our lives happy we feel as if we will be chased by our own mistakes, but different from the money generated from something good maybe a little but we feel comfortable to use and life we feel very calm.

Those who say that "money is not everything" actually they have lived with wealth, meaning that after their lives are luxurious or simple with a lot of savings that can revive or cover all their needs for a long time, then they can say that is "money is not everything ", because with a life that is sufficient then they automatically have a great happiness compared to those who live with little money. So anyway, money is something that is very needed, because if you don't have money then you will live with stress and depression because you have to think a lot of bills in your life.

There is a reason why people do say that and of course money isn’t everything, but it’s also important that we have money cause you will always need it for feeding, paying your bills, house rents and others. But there are things money can’t buy and the number one is Life– money can’t buy life, so you should be careful on how you look for money cause when you’re dead there is no more talk about money. I wouldn’t go further, but money is a necessity cause we need it to survive in this world.

Ok I take that back!! ;D Whether we like it or not, money answers most things, at least with money you can take good care of yourself, you can live the life you want, you feel even more relaxed sometimes.

From the perspective of those people money is not really important, the problems that they have cannot be solved using money, because if they could solve their problems using money then they will not have those problems on the first place, that is why they think that money is not everything because to them it isn't, even if money helps them so the majority of the problems that they could possibly have are resolved before they even have them and that is why they do not realize its importance.

Security can be bought anyway but not like even with that everything is guaranteed that you end up being fully secured. Either you are rich or not, as long as you are comfortable, you can be robbed. However, money is a great necessity all over the world, but certainly, you have to do something to earn it and it does not just come freely. More like an exchange of value as the case may be in which money becomes the medium to do that. So, at the end of the day, in any form, money will always matter.

Money itself is just a tool that is put in place as a way for payment and it could be in any form. At least, from the beginning, we see how the barter system all started in which people exchange goods for goods, probably, services for services, and then we move to some making use of shells in some places, and then physical assets, and then physical cash. Payment can always come in different means, but whichever way, you will always have to need something to exchange for a value of the other.

The problem is when people loose the sense for reality and money becomes the only focus of their lives and they become ready on everything to get it. This is potentialy dangerous situation.

We are in a world that money moves everything and make something happens with a blink of an eye if you pay the right price. That's why if you are already a rich man then it is too easy for you to make everything work out. And that's why i call money as a source of all evilness in our world where everything seems to get devoured by their greediness.
But for the poor people money seems to matters the most because of their basic needs, so for some people who are already in a stable life money might not matters to them of how important it is but there are rich peoples who manage well their wealth.

I think that quote only meant you can't "directly" buy happiness. It's quite because how rich people wanna act ungrateful of the things that they have so they would seem troubled. They always think, "I'm rich but I have no one." when they could have been donating money to the less fortunate ones and become happy. People put their happiness on material things such as iPhones, or whatever the popular culture dictates you to buy and then wonder how they are unhappy despite of having so much. After hours of research, I learned that you don't really need a romantic relationship with someone in order to be happy. You can be happy by simply helping other people and seeing them become a better person or survive for the day, all because of your help. Without this, you can never be truly happy.

Right now you're thinking that you're going to be genuinely happy once you got all those money and be able to buy the things that you want. You're excited because you haven't experienced it yet. But at some point those things would become rather normal to you. You will get used to that certain lifestyle and you'd notice that nothing has really changed about you except your possessions. In this generation money is very important, in everything you do money is always involve such as buying all your stuff like food, house, clothes all types of bills and anything that involved money. You cant also say that money cant buy happiness because if you have money everything could be easy for you cause you can afford everything you want that can make you happy

There are other ways that you can be happy because of money and it doesn't always have to be because of material things.

I agree to what you said especially about how we can feel happiness just by helping other people. I also had the same realization about the importance of money in my life. And I'd say money is a way for us to buy experiences in our lives that will bring us happiness. We cannot deny that without money, we won't be able to do the things that would really makes us happy. It's just a matter of how do we spend, to whom should we spend it, and what should we spend on with our money that would really make a huge impact in our lives and hopefully, with other people lives. I hope I made sense in the value of money in our lives.

That's a moot point. When there is money, you start to think about other aspects of life and the worldview is changing.
Once you have money your thought process changes because now your needs have changed as well, before you had to worry about a lot of small things that you did not knew how you were going to solve because you lacked money but once that is solved you begin to think about other stuff simply because you can, so there is no doubt that money is a very useful tool but still you need to be careful because like any tool it can be used for good or for evil, that is why there are so many people that are rich and yet they're very happy or they suffer a lot of problems because of their money.

Those who say money doesn't matter are hypocrites. If deserved and honestly earned, money is the proof of prosperity someone achieved in life. It's the proof the person had progress with the talents received by God, from a biblical perspective. So even towards religion money is something good and positive. People are criminalized by having money only in countries where the envy is strong and consequently the leftism...

It is true that having a lot of money comes with its own set of problems, but if the choice is between not having money and having money it is obvious which one you should take, having money is way better than not having money, just be careful because there are a lot of people that do not know how to manage a lot of money and that is why they end up spending their money in useless stuff that they do not need or in stuff that damages their health.

You are correct when you say that money is just a concept, however even even in the most remote locations people have created their own form of money and it is not really surprising why that is the case, money is an incredibly useful concept that allows people to trade in a more efficient way that is why it exists, it makes easier to give a price to everything when you have a unit of account in which everyone agrees to accept for their goods and services.

In fact, money does play an important role in our life, and no matter how much we love crypto-currencies, we must agree that they are few in which countries can be used as a means of payment. Maybe in the future the situation will change ...

Anyway, money is everything and doesn't matter he is rich or poor. Rich people can say money is not everything because their life needs have been supported or have been covered by money from all kinds of bills that make their lives comfortable and they can say "money is not everything". But for poor people who have a lot of life needs still cannot be fulfilled. So, poor and rich will need money to fulfill all their living needs.

Who's the person who doesn't want to have money, in modern civilizations like this, money has a role, which is very important, especially for everyday life. In fact money can be a most logical motive which can make a person motivated to do something things both prohibited and allowed. Rich people who have a lot of money can certainly make us happy. Because we can buy things that we like without the need for many calculations. But, money can't buy everything. Because in this world there's still another thing which is more valuable than money, maybe it can't be bought with some money which we have.

Money is literally the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on humanity.
Its only purpose in recent history has the worlds self appointed dictators to divide and control the people.

Considering we are all inhabiting the same planet and all born with the same inalienable rights (natural law), those who seek to be our betters and control us should be cast out of civilized society.
We can live without money if people are willing to cooperate.
In fact it is already happening in communities around the world (See Ubuntu Contributionism - Michael Tellinger)

People often say it sounds great but how would it work?
Well, the Ubuntu movement has not only shown it can, but has created a blueprint mapping out the "how" to liberate humanity from the debt slavery that is money.

There is no reason that anyone on this planet should suffer or go without the basic necessities and creature comforts of life.
It is the greed of a few who seek to hoard our resources for their own personal benefit that makes life miserable for everyone else.

These sociopaths are known. Once more people need wake up to their crimes against humanity and this planet, the sheer momentum of the masses will wash these same evil dictators and their mindless horde of order followers from our world.

In lower class mind, money is big deal and becoming the main need before anything else. So, what people say commonly about money "it is not everything" is just a fictitious that try to get people believe or even to engage people to word better life and have positive believe about life.

money is a unit to assess all goods or services. with our money it's easier to find desired needs. i see money like a mediator, so that everything that is traded can be measured by money, and money arises because the barter system is less effective, because with mutual need it can happen

Yes, money matters a lot in this world, that is because you can't get your work done without money. Many people you will face in your practical life who will demand money to do your work done. It happens mostly in an underdeveloped country where even government officials will be asking for a bribe to do your work done fast. Otherwise you have to stand in long queue and have to wait for long time period to get your work done.
But one must not be attached so much to money, that to earn it he/she indulge in illegal activities, must not give so much importance to money, otherwise, you will be only focusing to make money and for sake of it in parallel will be leaving your friends, the family behind in your life.

Money is critical but you are making the mistake of thinking that just because a person lives in a country that has been developed that such a person is going to get money very easily, in fact like in most countries if you do not have education it is going to be very difficult to make money in that country, so what you need to do is to try to get a skill that is in high demand and that pays very well, if you can do that and you are willing to work hard then getting money could be easier for you in that country.

It is the greed of a few who seek to hoard our resources for their own personal benefit that makes life miserable for everyone else.

You are right about enough resources to go around the world.   Its true that nobody needs to starve.    Its no longer true right now but not too many years ago the whole worlds population could stand on a small island just off the coast of UK, not the mainland chunk of land just one of the many islands that in the waters around an already quite small nation (geographically).   There is enough land and resources for all people.

People starve for war and horrible failures and inefficiency.

There is a purpose to money, that is why it is not a hoax or con.   The division and distribution of money is to serve the purpose of spreading labour and resources across the many nations of the world and the vast variation in skills and abilities.   A great mountain of copper in Alaska is not that useful but copper used in circuits as a small section of community buildings to transfer electricity is always very useful, this distribution does require money not just the base good bartered or exchanged.

There is no doubt some people do nothing except count money and come up with ways to tax or take a slice of the money circulating.   Some of these people are even destabilising or straight up robbing a percentage of that money.     Even after all that the trade and exchange of value and labour that is enabled by money is a benefit, it produces wealth to be able to trade.
The easiest way to see this is to go historically to boats that had to slowly pass goods from one part of the world to another, the price being higher in one place then the origins of that product due to supply and demand also varying in each market

It shows that you are totally money minded. In the last sentence you have clearly told that it is temporary happiness and it is true that with money you can do many things but in life their are some things which money cannot work on. So we should run for money but not totally forget that without money is also a life. Where happiness and love lives.

Lot of money is also a very big headache and without money is also miserable so we should understand that limited money will give happiness in life.

Evidently money is one of the most brutally important things that we really need in our life. Dr T.P.Chia has a famous quote in relation to money, it is “ Money is not a synonym of happiness, but life is rough and tough without money”, and I completely agree with this idea. Especially, as we all know that if you are lack of money, you probably don’t get a better education, your activities is restricted or even you don’t have many social relation and the like. Moreover, some said that “ money can’t buy your health, your happniess”, as I think that it’s quite difficult to form this judgement, because in current global situation, when one gets disease and if he does not have money, he can’t go to hospital or have any better treatment, thus whether he has happiness? . Anyway, Money plays a great essential role in our modern life.

But, i guess the term "Money is not everything" is a a phrase indicating that some in choices in life doesnt needed money to be happy. Especially in terms of our dignity. People who works for money eventhough it is illegal and might harm others just for the money. We need money, but not to the point we have to destroy someone to have a lot of it.

When we speak about money it matters all.Even having money or no money it matters to all people.Without money we can't live normal.ln this world you can move if you have money because you will not eat either if you don't have money.

We are born in a world where money matters most of the time unlike before where people used to enjoy having a party simply with just a piece of biscuits and softdrinks. But today we are so fond of wasting too much money just to show to other people that we enjoy with a lot of foods and beverages, not to say the new technology specially the so called cellphone.

Imagine what could be the future if we don't rely always on money but instead of something that we earned something like we can't even see but still there, like the blockchain technology.

It will take a great amount of money to consider using blockchain in our daily basis because we do tend to use more money today than before and it's changing always every year as the amount of every food we consume started to raise drastically. You include the natural phenomenon and the disaster it is quite expensive to think all of it.
Money is something that most people are ready to die just to obtain it. They were working hard just to compensate their taxes, bills, etc., without ever thinking about the situation of their own healthy lifestyle.

Money definitely matters, it's like blood in a way.

However, and I'm not sure whether or not this will happen within our lifetimes, but I think in a post-scarcity economy, money will hold less value once we won't need it to achieve our wildest dreams in a resource-less virtual simulation made possible by AI, brain-scanning, and more bandwidth.

Definitely money is a huge thing, many of those that say that it is not are trying to prove that there is something greater, and while I can agree with that to some extent we know the truth, money is a must in this world if you want to live a decent life with some comfort, that is why people spend almost all their lives working trying to make money in an effort to improve their lives.

I agree. Money really matters. It decides many problems nowadays.
I do not quite agree with the statement that only people who have enough money say that money is nothing. This is the position of different people all over the world.
Personally I don't think that money is nothing, but I'm sure it's not everything.
Most of the things, services and other you can't get without money. But you obviously can't buy the most important things (and I'm talking not about cars or estate right now).

Most of the corruptions started in the government so this cryptocurrency is the best diversion in order to be separated from fiat economy.

Money matters to live free. The more money you have, the more independent you are. And independence is one of the main properties of man.
It is true!. By having a lot of money, we become people who are valued and respected. Even in organizations placed in an honorable position, those who are members of their education are far above him. Even many companies whose owners do not graduate from high school, but employees are university graduates. That's because  have money.

Health can not be bought is a fact. But you can not lose it. Now a large number of young people use drug addicts and say that they are happy. But this is a fraudulent feeling. To be happy you have to Love.Without deluding yourself to love.Even with a lot of money people will not be happy without having Love in their hearts. At the moment, money has become higher than honor, dignity and in fact people are driven by the market. This is not a healthy trend, but we have become its creators.

I dont know if this is a miracle or not but it is real. There are a lot of people who do not think they will become billionaires when they do their favorite jobs but they become a reluctant billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg. It shows that if we work because of passion, we work with high responsibility, we will easily become rich.
Right if we want to get money we will have to work hard, the more we get determined the more we will earn, for now everyone is dreaming to become rich and they are working for it but the only thing that everyone needs is the proper track in this regard, if you have money so instead of only working it is much better to invest your money and get saving for your future.

This is a must, good money, very important! Although money can't represent your future, it can definitely affect your present. This is a world of capital, and nothing can be achieved without money.

I would not go that far, people are more valuable then any paper wealth.   There is such a thing as natural resources, though people will want to price everything and tax everything even and limit ownership and use.   Even so especially across a population wealth can produce without an apparent capital worth being present.

We all recognise talent personally but also it can produce wealth without actually first being rich.    The main element to money will always be to me security, I think that is the biggest thing it represents.  A person who is ill cannot earn, they can only produce based on their previous work and the ownership they might have.  But a person with money even when ill can pay their bills, so this becomes security and assurance.
Its the most important element to capital that it will always be there, overnight and in hard times, natural bad weather and political strife.   Also it must be transferable and tradable across the world or what good is the money if not for exchange with those who have the goods to sell.

The most ironic thing, money is worthless by itself.   Only in exchange does money have worth, it must be valued both by seller and buyer in order to continue with its purpose

It sadden me to think that you've been deceive and blinded by the power of the money. Money is something that we can use everyday, and it is not money as everything, that's why lots of people are not working too hard because they tend to steal someone's hard work while to some who had working hard just for the sake of money is still not good because you tend to trade your family or your health just for the sake of money which is not good in any way.

Without money in this world, rarely does anything get done. In fact, many things suffer needlessly without money.

Money is something that is available and generally accepted by the public, as a means of payment for the purchase of goods and services, as well as other valuable assets and can also be used for debt payments. Money is also an object which can be connected with other objects that are different for example by buying.

To deal with the demands of modern times like this, where everything needs money, it seems we will fail big if we don't have money.

In my opinion. indeed money is not everything, but money is very important for the survival of our lives. because if there is no money or we don't have money then we cannot survive in a modern country. but money cannot guarantee our happiness because money cannot buy happiness. happiness will exist when they can create it for themselves.
Those who say money isn't everything are those who really don't have a lot of it. With money you are able to access the best health care and the best of everything in the world. Money can even buy happiness even if it's a temporal one.
The truth is that most of those that say that money is not everything are those that are rich and they say that because they obtain most of their happiness in the same way that everyone does, like being with your friends and family but it is ridiculous to try to downplay the importance of money in this society because as you say if you have it you can get the best of everything and over the long term that makes a huge difference in the quality of your life.

It does matter a lot and it should matter. We need money for our necessity, facility and luxury. It can either end up on being too greedy or heavily dissatisfied with a lot of money. Money is a tool, it's all up to us how we manage to give respect and value with the money that we have. Money is not easy to earn, there's no such thing as easy money, so we must be responsible and wise enough in spending it.

As Robert Kiyosaki says, there are only two financial problems - no money and much money. I prefer the second - much money )). I think that rich people are cunning, saying that money means little to them. But in some way they are right, as they became rich thanks to their knowledge and not only. Therefore, if someone immediately takes away all the money from them, then after a while they will again become rich

Those who say that money is not the main thing are a little deceiving themselves and others. Of course, for a person the most important thing in life is health, family but all this is provided with the help of money. Unfortunately, we don't have free medicine, children and family will not be able to eat and learn without money. Therefore, money is certainly important to meet our daily needs. But the amount of money that is necessary for everyone’s life is different for everyone.

Your first statement is very true. Those people won't see it as a big deal because they have too much of it. Money is a huge matter because everything is affected when you don't have enough of it. It's true that money does not cure or solve everything but they did not realize that not having money creates dozens of problems that branches out.

I am totally agree with this quote.
Money gives us options in almost everything. When you do not have money, you do not have too much options to choose.

Money is very important but I feel you are thinking very wrong about it. Money can be used to pay more and make your life better, but never let your wallet drive you. As evidence that the scammers have so much value for money, they just want to have a lot of money and they have deceived people. We need to distinguish and manage the money, otherwise we will have big problems. My dad taught me this.

Money really matters because if not for money, then why we are working everyday or why we are doing crypto investment/trading/bounty? That's simply because we want to earn money so we can buy the things we want.

To begin with, where did the money come from? Correctly, as a result of human evolution and the transition from a barter system of exchange of values to a monetary system.Money is a different kind of value, so money is everything!) At least money is a means for later life (no matter how poor you or rich)

Money is not everything but everything needs money. I think that sentence has concluded everything.
If we can reach financial freedom, we can get time freedom and then we can focus on our passion. Having enough money for everything will improve every aspect in our lives.

Yes of course! That's right it is really important the most use thing in the world and most needed thing that human living should not deny that we really need money to live and pay things that we want in our life and can change everything using it.

Money is just money, it is not needed or essential for living. It is not like that you will die without money. I live in a province and most of the people here are contented to what they have. Not rich but happy. I can't deny that they are also hoping to be rich but most of them are contented to what he have in our place. You can eat without really paying for anything, you just need to cook it.

the personality of each human being is different to get happiness in the world, naturally money is needed to support our needs, but remember we live only temporarily and that is eternal after we cannot breathe air, new stagnant bodies don't move can be brought to death, so what should we bring?
charity!! and our kindness to others, and worship according to our beliefs "
money is only the world's treasure as long as you live to get money easily you will become a millionaire and better to do good socially for your fellow people will be people who are fortunate in the world and the here after.

I agree with this, although I hate money but I can't fullfil my necessities without money. I hate money because people fight each other and even kill other people only to get money. So actually I hate the people's habbit not the money. The thing that more important is happiness, we earn money to be happy.

Since before money is really matters because we need money to buy our needs like food,as payment and everything we want that need money. Same as in crypto, you need money to buy coin you want and also you need a lot money especially when you invest in crypto. Nowadays money matters because its only needed for everything you want and you needs. There's no problem if you have a lot money or not as long as you used it poperly.

Yes I agree. As long as you alive, the money will always matter. You can't deny it! Don't be hypocrite, let's be honest that without money, you can't live. In fact the money nowadays is equal to power.

Money matters in Crypto Currency Investment, it is the most crucial in the market trading, Huge amount of money investment would change the out look of the market. we often seen some speculators that Big Business or the Whales are behind the market movement of price value of one specific coins, so, money really in crypto currency investment.

I think this expression has a deep meaning. Of course, money is very important and if there is no money, then it is a disaster. But more important than money is a goal. Without a task, money is not useful.
Agreed with you money is our need of the day, we cannot even walk without money, we should try to increase our source of earning, to get money having more than one way of earning money matters a lot, money is goal of life we should try to fix our goal and then spend our money, as make investment and never think about making panic even if you need it so your earning will be bigger than that.

This is correct, of the two different problems that we can have of not having money and having money it is way better to have to deal with the problem of having too much money, and while it may seem easy to deal with such a problem the truth is it is not since there are many examples of people that had a lot of money and now they have no money because they could not deal with it.

In my opinion, money is something that to provides the needs of our family. Life is more comfortable if we can buy what we need to. We are very thankful in bitcoin because we can earn extra income. It is in our hands on how to spend money.

I also think. With the help of money we can provide for our needs and our family and this makes us happy. The more we can afford the better we feel.

Very interesting thoughts OP.  I agree, most times I have heard that ‘money isn’t everything’ phrase it’s usually from those who are doing well or have done extremely well for themselves.  While I agree with the phrase, having financial freedom totally impacts which side one sits on the applicability of the phrase.  The fact one is rich and adopts the phrase is possible only because all the things that could be taken care of with money is no longer a worry.  Whereas, for someone who isn’t finanacially free, there is the issue of money as well as everyday problems like relationships, wellbeing, happiness etc.

I am more inclined to believe that knowledge is much more important than money. An enterprising person who has enough financial knowledge without problems can make a lot of money. Therefore, these people have other priorities. In addition, such people appreciate all health. But for me personally, spiritual development is even more important.

It is necessary to recognize the fact that we are not yet ready to give up cash, since cryptocurrencies are more used as investments or the preservation of value. But there is nothing bad in it, since the cryptocurrency industry is still young, but it has already gained great popularity and recognition, therefore there are all prerequisites that digital currencies can be an additional / alternative method of payment.

Well, I am agree we really need a money everyday because we consume. Sometimes, people are greedy to have it because they thought that if you have a lots of money you have a power, power to control people because you.can pay them, they do whatever you want as long as you have a money. Money has a very impact to a people, you can do good and bad things to earn it.

indeed money matters for us to survive by using it for thing such as foods, clothes, shelter, and other personal necessities. Yet, Money doesn't really matter if you are gumptious. You could plant begetables and fruits, raise poultries, then you could have food. Use trees and its trunk, you could make your shelter. Use wood strips andpalm leaves, you could make clothes. Although sounds archaic and inappropriate to the modern era, the idea still exist, that the money only matters, be cause we want something, given the fact that we could make many things.

Money is the main problem when we have a desire that requires a large amount of money, such as a vacation to Hollywood or want to have the latest type of BMW car. Falls in bitcoin trading is one way to achieve that dream, and many are successful. Although not all are successful, trying is the most important.

Money is extremely important because to survive in this wold you would require money. though not everything money could buy it but it does not mean you do not earn money and have development plan to grow your money. Crypto currency is another way to grow your money and get additional source of income.

Of course money matters especially in this world. You can't live properly without money, you can't have proper social life without money, heck you can't even drink a clean water without money. Those rich people are the only ones who can say that money doesn't matter because they have what they need already.
