Title: Where I've been for the last 2 years; and- PizzaForCoins.com- legitimate or not?
Post by: snarlpill on September 13, 2018, 02:41:09 PM
Back Story:So if anybody that knew me on here wondered what had happened to me when I just disappeared, here's what happened: So I had a pretty rough last 2 years of my life. I was incarcerated, during which time I had a storage unit broken into from which almost everything I owned was stolen (including almost all of my physical Bitcoins  :'( :'(  ). Add that to the fact that none of that would have been possible if a close loved one hadn't stabbed me in the back, plus being stuck in jail seeing the newspaper articles about Bitcoin reaching $15,000+ (it was probably around $700 a coin when I got locked up)...  Needless to say I got out with nothing but a chip on my shoulder.

Pizza Content:So I started rebuilding my life from the ground up and I'm doing pretty well now. Also just recently found my notebook of all my passwords for Bitcoin sites & etc. Was super hungry the other night (9/10/18) and stumbled across PizzaForCoins.com. They seemed legitimate enough, and I was pretty sure I'd heard good things from them from my previous years in the Bitcoin world. So I sent them 0.004875 BTC for an order to be placed at my local Dominos restaurant for a large pizza and an order of breadsticks for in-store pick-up. Then I waited for the transaction to confirm, and received an email saying they had placed my order with the restaurant. So I waited about 10-15 minutes and called Dominos to see if they received the order. They had no idea what I was talking about, and asked if I had placed the online order on the Dominos website. "No, it was with a third party company online." Instantly I felt like I'd been scammed by PizzaForCoins and felt extremely stupid for not researching the company thoroughly before I sent my BTC to them- I Knew better. I then called Dominos several more times that night at various intervals, still no order received, eventually they closed for the night. I have tried contacting PizzaForCoins via the telephone number listed on their site and through their contact form. Last night I tried a different email address their site provides, still no luck about my pizza or my money and no word from them.

Has anybody on here successfully used PizzaForCoins.com or know anybody that has? Was my failed order just a fluke or was I scammed like a sucker?

I believe that PizzaForCoins used to be a reputable service. I think they just stopped processing orders or updating their API, but still are accepting your BTC. I almost fell for it one night myself, but then realized that the domino's they are claiming to place my order was closed for years.

I would consider that coin gone, but it's possible that someone may answer you call and respond to you. I've heard from people that used it successfully years ago, but not since then. Sorry to hear about your collectibles, but good on you for fighting through it and making it work beyond that.

I managed to get a few links[1][2][3][4]. There are basically mixed reviews to be honest so It's hard to tell, my guess is that either there is a problem with the website or they used to be legit and left the project now.

Don't take in consideration the last two posts in the last link, they're from brand new accounts, so It's possible they are from the company itself.

Eh....what were you incarcerated for, if you don't mind my asking?

As far as the pizza thing goes, sorry you got scammed.  Sounds like a pain in the ass way to pay for pizza anyway, plus you're giving up your precious bitcoin for something that would be quicker and easier to pay for with cash.
