Ideally, I was also thinking this way when I newly joined the crypto way but I have come to realize that it is also a part of business to some individuals who just gather themselves as ico team to scam investors. I know of so many icos today that never got listed in exchange after 8months, some since a year and others have totally packed up with their fake telegram closed. What do you also say about that?

The first and foremost mistake by new tiew investors in the cryptocurrency is the lack of knowledge on how really volatile the market is and why is it that way. Another is that their lack of understanding on how to invest to the right cryptocurrency or ICOs as not all of them will provide profit the way they like it.

When I read the article, I remembered that my friend invested in the project without reading its whitepaper. The most interesting thing is that he had huge profit  ;D ;D

Whitepaper is the most common way for us to check out a certain projects potential but this wont really make any guarantees that you would able to hit up the right one for you do claim to have huge profit.
Due to lack of knowledge and patience on researching things up this is quite indeed the most common mistakes together with your greed with easy money or profits it do really lead up into problem.

I would say that even if you avoid the mistakes mentioned in the article, you just shouldn't do ICOs.
The market has drastically changed this year and it is important to change with the times.
The most profitable coins this year have not been ICOs or even newer coins, they have been older, established and strong ones.

Of course, when you compare to last Jan everything is down.
But coins like BTC and Monero have weathered it out very well and are solidifying their hold on the market.
For the next foreseeable future, these are the types of coins that will bring the most profit.

If the market ever does hit a bull run again this year, then you can expect speculative investing to skyrocket again.
And you can potential do a quick flip of an ICO.
But now that crypto is really starting to get mainstream, I think you will see more traditional investing methods taking hold.

The first mistake is that people consider crypto currency as an investment basically it is not an investment just the people are making money through its speculation so don't expect to make money from investing your money on ICOs basically in short term because most of the projects even failed to make into the exchanges.And other common mistake is that investing on the projects without any knowledge just get attracted into that by someone investing on it which leads to mass loss also.

People make mistakes sometimes especially in cryptocurrency. The negative speculation about cryptocurrency is too much and this prevents more traders and investors from investing their monies into it.

Probably the biggest mistake when it comes to investing in icos is that people rush too fast to invest in this market not understanding that there are going to be thousands of opportunities for them to make money, it is better that they at first get a very solid foundation about what to look for in a new ico, but people are desperate, they want to earn as much money as possible and they do not want to wait but this produces a very chaotic market in which they lose a lot more money than they should.

Great article, I think this should be shown to anyone who is wanting to get start investing into ICOs. Too many people are just throwing money into projects without looking trying to find the next bitcoin.

It is a nice disscussion. We no one is above mistakes. but after all we have to be carefull while trading with crypto coin. i also suggest new investor to follow these. this will will them a lot to know about Crypto currency.

I just think potential investors need to think harder about what they are putting their hard earned money into. I only invest into ICOs that have a working product to start with. Then I start looking into the other aspects of the ICO.

Just don't invest into an ICO without a lot of research and questions, nothing much more to it.

In the crypto world, you have to have more mature knowledge and good readiness, so you don't have regrets.

Probably one of the worst mistakes that people do when investing in icos is to invest without really thinking about what they are doing, they invest in a new project without really understanding what the project is about, and how it's planning to reach its goals, if you really want to make money in this market you need to know exactly why you are investing in your project of choice, if you do not then it is very likely that you're going to lose all your money.

However, probably the mistakes are about:
- Its panic hype by the investors that only follow the community to invest in ICO
- Only get the ICO based on the reached softcap or not
- Learn the project only the general concept, not researching the project carefully
- It never looks deeply into the profile of the team members to cross check whether they are real or not.

Yes, way too many people make this mistake. There is especially the part where investors are following the hype of the coins instead of doing actual research and following the project themselves. They give money to these people without knowing what they are getting into just because they see a lot of people investing in the coin which is wrong.

They were also trapped by the high bonus offered by ico and deceived because the ico had partners with great companies, even though all were fake.

That is nothing more than FOMO, people see that other people think that this coin is going to be a revolution in the world cryptocurrencies and they do not want to be left out so instead of doing their own research to see if this project is as good as people think they decide that if everyone is investing in it they cannot let this opportunity pass them and they invest as well, this is how bubbles are form and this is also why so many coins go down in price after the ico because they were overvalued.

Yes its FOMO, and they come and play good part in hyping any project but they disappear soon as well.
