Title: Theymos: Can we block PMs from Copper-Newbie members? Post by: The Sceptical Chymist on September 19, 2018, 11:49:20 PM I just got a PM from kingsman03 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1554545), and that account is a newbie one that has a copper membership. I have my settings such that PMs from newbies should be blocked, and I'm not sure why I got one from him. Is that a copper member benefit or something? I don't recall ever reading about that.
I'll lock this thread in a jiffy if I missed something or otherwise get a good answer to my question. Copper Member Accounts are a niche which could be abused a lot after the new Jr. Member requirements are introduced. The original purpose of those accounts is as far as I know to enable posting pictures for members to create a Bitcointalk ANN for their project, not to spam signature campaigns...
Members posting an ANN for Altcoins have for sure enough money to buy a Copper Membership. And this would also solve the PM problem or at least make it better... If it becomes a problem, I could change it, but for now: if it's spam, just report it and know that they wasted $10 spamming you.
