Title: Client should ask for password twice before encrypting wallet.dat
Post by: barbarousrelic on October 30, 2011, 01:34:16 PM
Yes, I know everyone should back up your wallet.dat before encrypting. But still, it's a good idea (all upside and no downside) to require the password to be typed twice to avoid typos in the password.

It does. After you type it the first time it asks you to type it again. If you fail, the encryption fails and that's it, no encrypted wallet.

This is fixed in 0.5.0.

It does.  The only issue is the wording of the prompts which is changed to be more clear in future versions.

You must enter password twice and it must match or the encryption will fail.  There is no risk of losing your wallet due to a typo (unless you happen to type it twice  ::) )
