Title: What is PoC ?
Post by: Kainhighwind on September 22, 2018, 07:45:35 AM
I'm being a hard time finding what is the meaning of Poc, some said it's Proof-of-Coin, some said it proof-of-concept
but what is the true meaning of PoC at the current moment when all of the BTC and Alt are green and they say 99% are just PoC?

PoC stands for Proof of Capacity.
You can find more information about it here: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/proof-capacity-cryptocurrency.asp
The internet contains loads of information, try using it.

at the current moment when all of the BTC and Alt are green and they say 99% are just PoC?

I don't see any relationship between the current market and the PoC algorithm.
Bitcoin uses PoW, which is Proof of Work. And other blockchains uses different algorithms too.
If you don't mind, you can direct us to where you got your info.

POC simply stands for proof of capacity...
There have been numerous threads were it has been discussed, try paying attention to new threads in the forum for more insight on topics..
And it has nothing to do with btc and Alt been green, or the current market situation

PoC stands for Proof-of-capacity and It is the ability to utilize an empty space in your hard drive to mine free coins. Proof-of-work (PoW) and Proof-of-stake (PoS) are the most common ones most coin uses. There is only one coin that uses PoC, it called Burstcoin.

Simply, the act of computing and storing solutions on your computer before the mining even begins. This is supposed to be an eco-friendly mining solution!

They are right, it's proof of capacity. There's also another PoC (checkpoint) and it depends to the coin on what proof they are using.

People Of Color obviously! Pay reparations wite boi!!!

But seriously, everyone above refers to Proof-of-Capacity, but the emboldened part of OP's post suggest that's not what's he's asking for:

... when all of the BTC and Alt are green and they say 99% are just PoC?

There's another PoC term related to trading and TA: "Point of Control"
https://marketdelta.com/how-to-plot-and-trade-naked-pocs-point-of-control/

@OP - it's always good to quote the context in which you've seen that term used, to avoid confusion.
