Title: Checking Demoted members to give Merit: Feedback and Helpful Links Post by: amishmanish on September 22, 2018, 08:52:12 AM User Obiwan helpfully listed out newbies (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030445.msg45888592#msg45888592) who had been demoted and I went through the post histories to merit them. I have only gone through one month history preceding the latest announcement. So did not merit those who just woke up. I am hoping that these examples and this post can help newbies decide what kind of user you want to be.
Sad to have gone through these but not finding too many people to merit. Then there are those who engage but haven't gotten the ranks they otherwise would have, if not for merit system; like this one (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1911471). With the new rules, there maybe some members willing to change their styles. Your aim should be to become part of the Bitcoin ecosystem rather than simply hunting for bounties, 90% of which are proving to be scams. For those who would like to earn some merits, there are some links you can check.
Honestly, there is so much to do if you can take your head out of that useless bounty cauldron for sometime. Good Luck! Title: Re: Checking Demoted members to give Merit: Feedback and Helpful Links Post by: amishmanish on September 22, 2018, 08:55:48 AM

The problem with them is they don't do deeper reasearch. They thought its all about bitcoin or satoshi. Like what you said, they should conduct a research about lightning networks etc state their opinion regarding that matter etc so that they can contribute to the forum. They should think about contributing to the forum and helping others not about getting merits.

Hope Joe start it again. Like what you said, they should conduct a research about lightning networks etc state their opinion regarding that matter etc so that they can contribute to the forum. They should think about contributing to the forum and helping others not about getting merits. Apart from the already created topics, we also see these doom-and-gloom posts about whether bitcoin will survive? Is it a bubble? Is HODLing the right strategy? and so on.What newbies and bounty-hunters don't realize is that bitcoin wouldn't have made any of the early adopters rich if, like them, they too had only cared about the price. These people were involved with the technology day in and day out. Struggling to put it to use in their localities, businesses and open startups that used them. That opportunity is still there. People are just not willing to use it. That old spirit of volutnary collaboration needs to be revived and imbibed among the newcomers. |
