Google is ending its sweeping ban on cryptocurrency-related advertising and plans to allow regulated crypto exchanges to buy ads in the United States and Japan. The new policy starts in October.

I think this will not affect bitcoin's growth it needs support from the economic news background ! But the news is really good ! Cryptocurrency has moved one more step to world domination !

It is good to here in this forum because most of the investors are available in this forum so this news is really attract the consumers so Bitcoin reputation is improve in the market. This will be reflected in October price now we should wait and see the future results.
It is a positive news in crypto so it will make good consequences in future market. But it is not a big impact of Bitcoin price.

Wow, earlier today I came by a post about google ads being banned and thought that it should be wrong by now. I was upset and surprised that the ban was still active. This news is changing things back to normal and to what I thought was already there, so thanks a lot for sharing it! For now the ban is off for Japan and USA, but I hope it will get worldwide, as crypto market should not be discriminated only because there are many ICOs scamming people. They could ban ICO ads instead at the very beginning, or, rather, require strict review of the ICOs that want their ads to be on Google. I don't think that the news will affect the prices, but it is a nice step toward recongizing cryptos as a legit part of our life.

I guess, google has to make money too. They have obligations to their share holders, and why cut of a perfectly good source of income. Not to mention that many of the higher ranked google employees understand bitcoin and probably hold some themselves.

Once they bring back the ads, what they need though, is more educated staff members to prevent ads that may harm their users, like malware ads and scam schemes.

I will admit I did not notice the tangible bans on advertising. Maybe in connection with this news, will they even further promote the topic of crypto currency?Indeed, we are waiting for something interesting.

This is a major pivot. Before I wasn't sure if google is the throttle to mass adoption. Now I see they are trying to regulate so they can accept in their infrastructure. It will take time, but this is a great sign for the industry on the whole. 

I read the news this evening and i am really happy about it, I remember i have once said that with time, all these people that ban cryptos will later realize what they are missing and will be forced to un-ban it, I am still waiting for a time china will embrace cryptos..

Well, it's a good strategy by Google, they aren't letting fucking scammers advertise on their platforms.

But this should have nothing to do with bitcoin or its price. Because it's a fucking ad spot at the end of the day. If price gets influenced by that, then we can all possibly conclude that the market is handled by stupid idiotic 12 years old.

No one but noobs gave a damn when the ban was enforced, and now no one but noobs give a damn about Google allowing some companies to advertise again.

It only makes sense for social media platforms to not banish every entity related to crypto, because that's a form of economical exclusion reeking of an anti crypto bias, and of course there is a financial incentive as well. I doubt that we'll suddenly see Coinbase ads pop up, because they don't need any ad exposure through crypto when their backlinks are superior in each and every way, and I'm sure it's the same for other large entities in this space.

In a world where there are plenty of sites and platforms to advertise on, one does no longer depend on Google to reach a large number of people. It's more so Google's loss than crypto's loss. In other words, it was only a matter of time before they would reverse their actions.

I have mixed feelings.

On one hand i think it wont matter much other than more revenue for google.
Crypto will continue on with or without google ads because there are other
places online people get their crypto  info.

On the other hand the fact that google will only accept regulated sites advertise
means less people will be subjected to scam sites and will get the impression
the crypto space is cleaner and safer.

Facebook already made its U-turn months ago. Nothing has changed
So I don't think it will make any difference as well. The only upside is that we are going to see a lot of ads again, Lol and scammers will take advantage of the situation again. We might see ICO increasing in the next couple of months because both legit and scammy projects will have a good exposure once again. But I don't think it will bring any impact on the current situation though.

I hara this is good news that will make the price of crypto currency rise again, considering that some time ago the policy could make the price of crypto currency fall and affect until now, the policy carried out by Google now will at least get rid of bad paradigm about crypto currency, so investors' confidence will increase to keep their capital in crypto currency

Its a good news, it can make crypto become more popular and it can decrease the negative stigma on crypto, but it won't be affected too much most of the people already knew crypto and they seldom care about the ads in Google, but this is a good progress to make crypto into mass adoption

This is good and happy news for Bitcoin holders and lovers, it means that bitcoin is becoming grow wider and more. It is the beginning to get trusts from local government. To me, I personally think that it will not affect the bitcoin price as long as many Bitcoin holders keep and hold on their Wallets.

I do not think it will affect the price of Bitcoin either. I only understand that the policy taken by Google with the advertising ban of cryptocurrencies has been correct. Imagine for a moment in being an Investor who, convinced by a Google ad, invests in an ICO Scam.

A situation like that is unacceptable, the reputation of Google goes down and is pointed out as the vehicle that allows Scam projects.
The crypto-enthusiast community needs a healthy ecosystem and we are all involved in building it day by day.

if this is true, it will be beneficial to the crypto market and the users too, it only means that the use of crypto is eventually being adapted by more and more people in the world, it will boost the trust factor to attract more and more investors who are not yet into cryptos, google has innovated and part of that innovation is the realization of the worth of crypto trading and promoting crypto will attract more advertising firms.

Which are the "regulated crypto exchanges"?Coinbase?I don't think they need any advertising.
I'm not sure that the crypto exchanges will have big enough advertising budgets,their profit margins are small.

"Regulated" here obviously means Government controlled = centralized exchanges.
... So basically they are trying to allow centralized Cryptocurrency Exchanges to buy ads... Then slowly the Crypto World will be dominated by Centralized Wolves in sheep clothing.
Hopefully they don't also begin allowing the promotion of Centralized Cryptocurrencies (fake Cryptocurrencies).

I think that banning crypto ads by google or any company didnt have sense in the first place. Censoring cant be good. It should be a free market and people should be wary what they invest into.

From the looks of it, they would if governments begin to issue such cryptocurrencies after all, why would they not allow the promotion of centralized cryptocurrencies if they allowed the advertisement of regulated exchanges?
Even if they won't, I am sure that we will see one or two shady ICO projects promoting their shit despite not allowing them to advertise using google ads. Also, regulated crypto exchanges there meant exchanges that comply with their country's Securities and Exchange Commission organization or exchanges already regulated by them.

I'm sure facebook would have been making money from turning around on there decision in June but nothing much has been added to the price of bitcoin ; in fact , June was when we had price coming down below $6,000. Likewise google, they want to catch up in there finance and not that they want to help in growing the market, they are in business and nothing more.

This is an inevitable thing to happen they know that by banning cryptocurrency related ads they are simply cutting of one industry as their customers which simply means they are denying themselves one mode of income. Opening this up again will definitely increase their income as they know they have a lot of consumers who can be targeted by cryptocurrency related ads. In their point of view I think we all can say that this move is money motivated rather than really a change of heart about their views towards an industry, they really didn't lose anything by doing so.

i think google realized that banning crypto ads did not affect the growth of cryptocurrency as people can still search crypto if they want and they uplift the ban and recognize crypto. Anyway, this is a good news as crypto can be advertise thru google and this can help new ICOs to advertise their project in google search engine which can attract more investors.

What would really make it beneficial. It will simply be beneficial to the pocket of google at the end, since it seems they have realized how much they have missed from revenues when it comes to the cryptocurrency space. It is not some news I believe should have any serious impact on the price of bitcoin or the crypto market generally. Sure, in a way it could keep helping to create awareness nonetheless, but at the same time, the fact that they are trying as much as possible to clean the space and reducing scammers, by dealing with only regulated platforms, is a good start.

Not all advertisement are allowed after now. Only the advertisement of proper projects, that are not scam, or the advertisement that do not advertise 30x gains are allowed.

I think that this will have a positive effect on the crypto market as a whole. Of course this will not give a start to the reversal (but the author did not claim it :)).
I also think that the emergence of positive news prepares people for a reversal, but I don't claim that this news will give a boost to the turn.
Some time ago Google applied the decision (to ban advertising of crypto currency) added negativity in the market. Therefore, now, I think that the revision of their decision will add a positive to the general state of the market.

I disagree in your statement as whether how small or big the investor are they will still be contributing in the market, and with the ban lift by google in crypto ads no matter how small its impact is it will help indirectly, also remember that google is one of the biggest companies that rule over the internet that is why its impact will be good in the current situation in the crypto industry.

if this is true, we are looking at a great comeback of bitcoin price, ads and positive infos about bitcoin have been a powerful instruments that has a great affect on a certain product, in bitcoin's case since it is digital and online, any news can reach the market faster, we are going to see a price hike maybe at the end of this year, where usually price are going up due to holidays season.

I think the consequence of google policy is more ICOs will created by many developers team. Beside that, more people will find more information about ICOs and cryptocurrency. More people will join in cryptocurrency market

It is not everything that affects bitcoin growth and I feel we pay so much attention to news. Without the news, the market would have still been moving in any direction it wants at the end of the day. Nevertheless, it is a good thing that the news will change some few things based on creating awareness at the end of it all.

However, we also have to understand that, this is still going to be limited since they made it specifically clear they will mostly be dealing with regulated entities which are very reasonable as that would help clean up the space. I guess Facebook too decided to take the same turn few months back.

I understand Google and Facebook until a certain extent to ban crypto related ads as many of them are scams. All in all, it would be nice if they allowed them as credible and actually good companies would have more tools to gain awareness.

In order to circumvent any prohibition, tools are created that allow it to be circumvented. Guggle realized this. And while not too late, he lifted his ban. Otherwise, Google could lose the opportunity to be the leader of the crypto market promotion.

This is good news although it does not necessarily affect the increase in Bitcoin prices. but at least Google has now lifted its ban on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency advertisements. I always thought that we will see a reversal of the decision because it was simply too general, I understand why a company like Google felt that they needed to do something so they could avoid that people got scammed through their announcements, it is way better to let businesses that are really regulated to advertise and to let all of those businesses that are fly by night operations to not be able to hire advertising out of them, that way they get a lot of money and almost no one gets scammed.

The consuqences with this google policy is more ICOs will be launch. But beside that, more people will knowing about cryptocurrency and they will getting more information about cryptocurrency. Not many people understand about cryptocurrency and they always have negative thingking about crypto. I guess they finally figured out that they can't hold or pin down cryptocurrency and it activities. Google or not, the revolution of Bitcoin will continue to upload. Well that's something that many knew were coming ever since they started the ban. It was only a matter of time since crypto has been getting good reception from people. And more institutions who initially banned anything that's crypto related will follow suit.

This is good news. The concentration of positive news will indeed have a positive impact on the market. Although advertising will be allowed to comply with certain conditions, it is still generally a positive signal for investors.

New ICOs will always pop up with or without the updated policy this is just a way for them to advertise on a different platfprm. I don't think this would encourage more ICOs because the ads only appears to US and Japan according to the article linked by the OP. Also during the ban I always see crypto related ads (ICOs, exchanges, wallets).

I agree with what the others have said. It's unlikely that Bitcoin would rise significantly after the new policy from google and if i'm wrong it's probably a coincidence.

This is good news, when the deceivers are reduced, the cryptocurrency is re-accepted by everyone. This makes people happy.

It is something very good. Maybe Google has a tip on a possible ETF acceptance of Bitcoin by the SEC. I am only suggesting though. But if they accept US and Japan, then it might be allowed in other countries.

Please let us not jump into conclusions here, this news won't start any price reversals as what one might think, from what I am reading Google is only loosening its ad restrictions and policies when it comes to cryptocurrency exchange related advertisement other than that the rest of the cryptocurrency related businesses are still out of the advertisement game in Google related websites. Don't get me wrong this is still a good news as they are starting to let some businesses in the game again but it is nothing compared to removing the ad restriction to the whole industry itself.

Wow that was a quick ban on crypto.  These mega corporations better watch out because the more and more they cross the line the more and more people will turn to decentralization.  Can't wait to see how Google survives.  The corporations really appear to be shooting themselves in the foot.  I think people are getting sick of the current government/corporation system we have. 

I this its not related with bitcoin price. Google policy is just on ads ICOs. But it will affecting people view about cryptocurrency, they will get to know and maybe trying to invest in some project. It is good news, but Google will definitely check the authentication of a project and then allow buying ads. They banned cryptocurrency ads because of the fake and scams projects and Google didn’t want to lose their credibility, therefore they banned all cryptocurrencies. Now if someone wants to use Google platform for their project they will give proof of authentication.

Yeah it is right because due to scam projects Google also banned reliable and trustworthy ICOs on its search engine. Google will now be very careful about the projects, so that their credibility would not be affected. Using Google means that a certain coin will be known by the whole world and its investment cap will go up in days and they will earn thousands of dollars.

No matter what you feel about it google is the biggest website in the whole world. They own more visitor counts than millions of other websites (weird that it all started as a two college kids project) so when google says its okay to advertise about crypto currencies it will definitely affect the price.

However, bitcoin is volatile so even if this is a great news and everyone here would be greatly happy to see the support of google for crypto it doesn't mean bitcoin will move any differently. Yeah, it may go up 20%-25% all of a sudden because of this news who knows however when it goes up it also goes down so you do not see it clearly when it happens.

It is very likely that most icos are not going to be accepted by Google anyway, only those that are established business and that can prove to them that they had been in business for some time will probably be accepted, companies like bitcoin casinos and exchanges could make use of that publicity but a new ico which shady developers that no one knows is probably not going to get access to buy the publicity of Google.

It does not make any difference at all. Google obviously understand the level of revenue they are missing from crypto adverts, and have decided to take a different turn from their initial deal, except that this time around, they are going to be dealing with regulated bodies.

This wont be that case. They wont allow ICOs to be purpose of ad. And this will be only allowed in USA and Japan as they stated. However everything can change in last minute, but this wont effect ICOs, i would be good to effect anything but think this wont change price.

Crypto currency is a gold rush, it is exactly like what happened during California times.

The early times there was gold nuggets as big as a fist and people became rich overnight and really felt lucky to be there. At the late stages people from New York had to went over to California for the gold rush (took so long there was a generation later when they reached) and at that point the gold was just tiny little small things you can't clearly see with naked eye. We are closer to the later stage now than early stages.

Google sees that but believes since they are the biggest data company in the world they could literally search every single bit of data and find those little things we missed out with our naked eyes. Lets see if they are right about themselves or not but this ban was not needed, it is great that its lifted, hope it won't be temporary.

Actually the logic behind banning the cryptocurrency in developing countries like the Asian countries is that it is going to affect the tolls of the fiscal and monetary that are widely used to control the inflation and to keep a check on the unemployment. Other social problems like crime ratio are also believed to be controlled by banning the crypto.

But these factors somehow undermine and masks the advantages cryptocurrency could offer. Besides, Google like Facebook just cannot loose the revenue they are able to make by letting the crypto ads run over their system.

Haha, thought about that earlier only. Because when google started giving out the press about the banning of crypto ads then I was like what the hell google is upto ? I mean they are the leading business deals when it comes to the advertising platform! They are getting huge % share of their revenue from the crypto ads for sure after looking the huge ICO's that are coming to the market and making their investment into it.
Here it is now, things are getting nicer back again and this could also be driven force for the crypto up rising as most of the ICO will start adverting back on Google and publish to bigger audience now.

Well, that is good news i guess that google is reversing their side against crypto currency to pro crypto currency. This is good for the entire crypto market. Recently, ICOs were struggling to hit their hard caps because of the restrictions they faced in their advertisement in some social media platforms. Once google has retraced its statement against crypto-related ads, it is a good step towards a rise in the market.

I don't think it is entirely impossible that bitcoin would not be making any significant movement because as what the history says, when bitcoin is in a calm mood, you should not be relax as well that nothing will happen because the tendency is that maybe, those who have large funds already have a plan of how they can make the people buy the coin at that price so it is better to always be vigilant of the news and if there is something not in the ordinary that is happening then it would be better to take a look at the charts and see how you can take advantage of it.

Lot of people speculates about when the google ban crypto related ads but no one speaking when they allowed so it means the google not have that much effective on the prices and some people who want the bitcoin price to fall down are the one who hyped that news too much and make it happen but now this doesn't change anything the price keeps staying at the lower level.

For a big company to recind its ban on advertisement on crypto currency is a huge thing. I mean it juat means that Google, trusts crypto currency enough that it is willing to stake their name behind it. This is very good news, which shows that a large number of investors are no longer investing in madness. Now ICO can hardly deceive investors because people become cautious and Bitcoin will continue to take off in the future.

Google trends basically decides on what the ban will be like. For example whenever the interest was super high they decided that they need to take a closer look at it because it was getting more popular and popular everyday so they needed to vet it more carefully. Now that the interest died down a lot in the past year they realized they do not need to care about it too much once again.

If the trends goes up and bitcoin and related stuff are searched insanely, they take a closer look at it and if the trends are going down and not searched for as much as it used to they just stop caring about it. I doubt that will change anytime soon, when millions of dollars are at stake they need to be careful about what they promote while if its couple hundred thousand dollars at most, who cares.

NO not totally because you can still see or read some news regarding on bitcoin ban especially in CHina, india and other countries that might influence other countries to do the same. As we all know that governments can do a mandates for google or any tool that could be use for advertisement to ban crypto ads in which facebook and twitter were commonly being used for crypto ads.

Lol thats totally imposible mate . google didnt loose any money because of ads  or because they ban crypto advertisements  .   you know google is a huge company that has a real physical store and business which means they wont only depend on ads just to earn cash  .

Well, if this is true then it is really good for bitcoin. When the bull run is near we see a lot of positive news and this is one of them. Lets hope the current price movement is helped by such movements and we break all the records.

Since last month I have started seeing ads on cryptocurrencies at my Google admob application and I was thinking that something is wrong somewhere!  I believe that the banning was unnecessary in the first place and that is why they have to lift it.

It seems like I've heard this a few months ago, but regardless, this is good news for cryptocurrency. as we know, Google is a giant company in the world and hopefully it can bring a positive trend for bitcoin. although I'm not sure this news can affect the price of bitcoin which is now declining.

When Google initiated the ban, a big impact was observed over the cryptocurrency market. By this time after the ending of the ban on cryptocurrency related advertising the market is supposed to progress forward. Till date we didn't experience any such big growth, after long time period now a small forward push has taken place. And the same hasn't found to continue, possibly after continued fluctuation market will recover moving towards the peak that's been reached years back.

It could be a possible preparation but I think this do not really concern much about the reversal of bitcoin prices. Agreed, same time if Google once again give a statement that they're gonna ban crypto related ads, once again the market gets disturbed. This is all because the market being speculative. Same if Google gives some positive news relative to cryptocurrency surely cavn expect a big price pumping.

With this ads ban over who gain most of the markets ads. I was thinking that ICO will gain most of the market but they didnt allow them to be advertised at all. Yes of cause bitcoin price can be affected greatly through media promotions and a big giant like Google allowing the promotion of cryptocurrency on the platform will allowed for bitcoin/cryptocurrency to reach wider audience and give room for high demands which will lead to increase in the price.

I think ICO often uses marketing strategies such as holding bounty campaigns and several other programs to help promote ICO products offered. marketing strategies using campaigns are usually more like a guarantee to make ico successful than just advertising through google.

Taking the blockchain technology and its real potential there is no big impact on bitcoin with the ban of cryptocurrency advertising. This is a long time news buddy and Google didnt totally ban crypto related advertising then. Besides, the reason why they partially ban crypto related advertising was because of the crypto scam which was rampant then and Google don't want to be among the list of company which the scammers will use for their process.
