Oh, the bad news is, they would only allow regulated/verified exchanges to use their add platform. Meaning - You want to advertise your crypto platform through google? Get your shit verified. I'm sure twitter, facebook, medium soon will follow the same. In the conclusion, fuck decentralisation and let the government regulate everything related to crypto.

Advertising is a good way to manipulate the crowd. They will allow advertising but will be more in control of it. This is probably the right step.

I don't quite understand why would they ban advertising certain type of services on google but allow the same type of ads on youtube (google owned). That's just double standards, I'd expect any ethical-concern actions to be taken on the group level, not separately for each platform.

Good to hear they're shifting towards more crypto-friendly stance though. This adds legitimacy to all the cryptocurrencies businesses that are allowed to advertise.

To be honest , i did not even notice the ban had same real consequences.
I was bombed by crypto ads as often as before the ban, possibly it is because it is too easy to bypass these bans on ads and also very hard to control them by google.

This is not as bad as it seems on the contrary this shall remove the spam and shit loaders out and only allow genuine exchanges to advertise. One of the main reason it was banned due to spamming and fraudulent activities, and which in turn had dented public sentiments. If you see in a way google is vouching for cryptos and this is indeed a very positive news according to me.

If only regulated/verified exchanges can use their ads platform then I don't see it as a bad thing anyways. They want only only companies with intengrity to patronise them which is awesome.

First of all it’s a good step from Google to lifts ban from crypto Ads, but for that they put some conditions like regulated exchanges or regulated ICO’S will allow to give Ads on Google.
I think it will a first step to regulate digital currency & might possible will not be acceptable most of exchanges.

if you have a legit business ("crypto platform") you wouldn't mind verifying it properly. it is only scammers who will be screwed.

I read that article and the conclusion is google will manage crypto ads, and there is no word who said regulate the system that is on cryptocurrency. And I guess it was good news for cryptocurrency industry, as what someone said before, that way can reduce fraud or even eradicate it. This method is very important because it will have a positive impact on new users or investors.

Google's policy of selecting crypto ads is a good step, so this will be a learning for crypto ads that like to cheat.
With Google's policy, it will certainly work better and be able to become a quality container, Google also wants something good for its development.

Google is quite wise with crypto, so this will have a positive impact and will increase investor confidence in the development of crypto on Google.

The issue of verification that can be avoided and to me, its meeting people at the middle. There was a time every advertisement concerning crypto I see on Facebook or Google by default have scam written all over it but if the ban could reduce that then its working and now they want to open it up , then it should be supported or else we stick to the status quo and be expecting miracle to happen without the massive people not coming into the market. Being picky about the ads is still better than nothing. Their total ban imposed months ago was stupid and unfair. It was them saying they agree with Gates that cryptocurrencies are a bubble and they need to protect people from these scams. How can a company that employs so many smart people be this ignorant?

This news is a welcome one as this measure will serve two purpose and sustain the cryptocurrency space. It is now possible for ICO advertisement to be in google but the project must be verified. This verification will help to sieve out scam project thereby cleaning up the system and only credible projects will esee the light of day. The second problem that this will help resolve is widening the adoption of bitcoin as more people will be drawn into the crypto currency business and usage will also increase.

I think this is really not bad especially if the ICO has served all the necessary requirements, also it would be a great help for investors in choosing good project. I think that's the right thing. People can be harmed by misleading ads. At least the advertisers are the right people. In particular, a unit for those with SCAM in ICOs can be used to prevent advertising.

Google is one of the world's biggest companies and its decision is reasonable.
They can't allow ads for irregular exchanges which may affect their reputation when those exchanges appear to be a scam.
There will be no way to prosecute those exchanges and people will start blaming Google for that.
Any respectful company won't accept that.

I say that's a good news. Tired of seeing those ICO ads on my browser and even social media feeds. With that rule at least ICO won't be allowed on Google ads. Can't blame them though because ICO's negative effect for the public is as bad as its effect for crypto. If you want to be fully free of regulation then don't use Google, heck don't use the current internet system. Use tor or something like what Namecoin is doing.

why would a wallet want to spend money advertising itself? do you see Bitcoin Core, Electrum, Armory, Multi Bit, GreenAddress, Bitaddress.org, ... advertise on google?!!! that doesn't even make sense.

so advertising a wallet has an incentive in it. they are either some custodial service like coinbase that need advertising (which means they are not a wallet) or they are scammers trying to spread some malware and earn money that way.

One way or another this is a bullish news for the cryptomarket. I remember the day when the adds was banned by the google. Much good news is accumulating at the moment. We are going to see the effects in the near future.

Weird though, as the ads are only pointed to ico's which should have nothing to do with bitcoin.

It is better this way I guess since government offices put a lot of pressure to crypto currencies especially to exchanges. What's wrong with someone to keep their identity undisclosed even they have a very successful exchange (i.e)? I personally sold to Bitcoin because I make my choice here, I do not need someone else to make choice for me.

What we need is education. Once we will have education then before dealing with anyone we will be able to do our own due diligence. Why would I let Google to do it for me. In other words I am giving the authority to a third-party to take care of things for me. What if they fail to do their job correctly or they became GOD?

Google is removing, Reddit is the same way. Queue in other social media applications. If good news comes from Facebook and Twitter, the mobilization of the market comes to life.

I think this is good news. This will limit or diminish scam projects. Hope facebook ,twitter will also soon set strict rules to make the crypto community become more transparent and safer for investors.

Good news to the crypto family. The condition given for the advertisement to continue will help every body in the crypto industries. This is good news, imagine if exchange like yobit pay advertising on google? How many people would lose money? it would be a lot of people and google would be destroying its reputation. We all know that the crypto world is new and a lot of things are not perfect, and Google's promotion of cryptocurrencies to add a ban is not a bad thing, at least to avoid some scams in the name of blockchain.

Its honestly weird indeed, but they are simply trying to centralize various aspects of the cryptocurrency market which is both good and bad on the whole for the investors in this market if you think about it.

I think Google gets a great idea about cryptocurrency, so they remove banning of the cryptocurrency. But they won't give a good reason for releasing the ban, and we can only guess without knowing the truth. But this will help cryptocurrency to grow more, and even cryptocurrency will reach many people from all country. I also did not notice that,check coinmarketcap they show cryptocurrency related ads I also visited some cryptocurrency sites and they also show crypto related ads I don't know if they can really trace all those crypto related ads or they just let it because they do not want to lose profit.

Well they were just wanna be secure and safe,as we know the true reason why this banning becomes rampantly issued a scammers scattered the whole system in which results to lots of victims and complaints about this situation.

I think, very good steps have been taken from Google to impose a ban on crypto advertising. Because they give some conditions for this, the ads delivered to regulated exchanges or controlled ICO Google will be provided.
I hope this will take the first step to control digital currency and most of the exchanges will probably be acceptable.

I partially agree with you. It is true that this is a good move by Google which helps support the cryptocurrency market in a big way, but you should not forget the fact that they still do not fully support cryptocurrencies(Read the news about the funny advert by Google about cryptocurrencies recently). They most likely are simply supporting the blockchain technology behind Bitcoin just like many other companies and governments proving their double standard nature. I personally admire Google a lot, but I do not like their pessimistic view of the crypto market though.

Its because of SEC. They dont wanna take a head on with them and get fined. I feel the regulation is good if they change the rules to keep the decentralization on. They just dont want scammers to get investments with marketing strategies.

I think Facebook and Twitter might ban ads from cryptocrrency because they don't want their users to be hit by scams from ico who do and if Facebook and Twitter users feel disadvantaged by ads displayed by the platform, Facebook and Twitter will be affected too. Ads nowdays for crypto are only effective for ICOS, and as crypto drop so does ICO there's reason to harm project owner with less hype and interest tries to promote their projects, generally i dont think these ads block does harm too much to the community, as most of the news are spread through sites and community groups anyway

The bad news about bitcoin is increasing, but it does not mean the death of bitcoin. Still remember that 10 years ago bitcoin is nothing, the creator is also nobody. But over time, bitcoin gradually became popular and prices began to rise. Until the peak occurs at Desemper 2017 when the price of bitcoin is almost USD 20,000. I think this is something positive and it's giving us hope that other countries too that are thinking of banning Bitcoins will look at this example and think about their decision again.
Google isn't something small and that's really fair because crypto currency is not something that's wrong it's just something to hat is beyond the control of the government thus taken as wrong.

That's great! facebook is the social platform that started this and later lifted this ban. About some few days ago Twitter has also started suspending several accounts related to bounty hunters. I know they woul d go back on their decision in no time .
