Well I'm using bitcoin for purchasing stuffs online.

It's very convenient and easy to use because there's a wide acceptance of it that you can't problem anymore. Most of the alts can't do it because merchants would like to stick to the coins that are very well stable and has a good volume on exchanges so they can sell it later. But to have its functionality at its finest, bitcoin will do.

I use crypto for purchases online sometimes. Many people use crypto daily with dapps.. many games are available that are built around smart contracts on ethereum, that is using it?. I personally do not know anyone that uses crypto in general besides myself. Have gotten a few friends into it but it for fun on the exchanges.

I have used bitcoin to buy goods from abroad. The purchase process is the same as using dollars. But many people use bitcoin only for investment assets. I hope many countries use bitcoin as a transaction process in buying and selling.

Not sure about that, please take a look on how CRPT can be used to create a bitcoin transaction instantly. another live product just like santiment platform and EIDOO wallet. You can try to use all of their functionality. The majority of icos are failed to create their own product and that's the point.

I think the main function of crypto is to transfer money (as well as assets) around the world without any problems. So we can say we are using it properly.

I mainly use it for trading. If utility companies here in my country would start accepting crypto, then I would definitely pay in crypto. I also know of a community that uses a certain cryptocurrency to purchase various stuff such as grocery items and some appliances.

I myself use crypto only on the exchange like most people, because in my opinion for the moment using crypto as a function there are only a few people, maybe if in the future access in crypto transactions can be made easier I think there will be many who use crypto as its functionality.

It's only for investors like us. Project owners often use blockchain technology for the payment of a number of different services. I think you have a great confusion.

Yes I do.
I use ETH and use GAS for cheaper fees when i want to send money to friends often.
I also use Metal pay from the Metal project. I was also in a lot of other projects during their testing and beta. I'm really interested in those.

Because the merchants are still not accept to do the payments by cryptocurrencies or they live in the restriction nations. And almost altcoins have not been trusted enough to use for payments. But I don't think all of them are not, it's just not popular.

Isn't that the whole idea for crypto? To use them in exchanges, To print legal money and sell to get rich?
Many people think that when you go crypto, You're supposed to get something magical in return, Though without a doubt it's all magic you're getting in return, But many are still hoping that someday they could use some of these coins for some imaginary future services which they will never exist at all. No one is actually using them for their functionalities/utilities. Some however are already doing it but you need to know which coin has a real world use case, Which coin can be actually used to utilize a service that really works, A coin which could be used to buy a service from a service provider.

It seems you have really researched about using crypto. In general, it is used for assets, and only a few for transactions with the reason that there are too few who can accept crypto to buy or service. But with time, hopefully crypto will become a functional transaction tool. Even though it's just a hope. :-X :-X

Yes, many times. Used Ethereum to fuel thousands of token transfers and purchases, trying similar things with NEO and NEM. Used Tether to minimise losses on trades. Used BNB, KCS and CET to ease trade fees. Used doge to tip users. Now hoping for something like agate take over the general transactions for payments worldwide.

If you ask if I use crypto as its function, then the answer is "not yet".
I myself still consider that cryptocurrency is more accurately an asset. This is also said by bitcoin business owners in my country.
He said, so far cryptocurrency is more accurately said to be an asset, just like gold, silver, and diamonds.
Although it does not rule out the possibility there are conditions in which people will buy an item with virtual coins, as is done by @batang_bitcoin and @GermanGiant in their comments above.
However, today most people still use it on the exchange and its value is still the same as assets, not a medium of exchange like fiat money.
Interesting discussion.

Indeed the fact tells it like it is. Crypto can only be used in the stock because it is still a lot of constrained stuff. the facilities and licenses make crypto not yet function optimally in the various regions. but now a lot of news also preaches that many facilities in various countries and trade start receiving crypto. This will be the greater glory and equitable world. just stay waiting for time to make crypto be functional because the wait for technology that is prevalent in the area.

I usually use the crypto only to trading only. It was only the result of profits from trading I use to make ends meet. have not used crypto directly for the payment system. because not know too where it is already applied.

I use crypto's functionality to transfer crypto fund to a friend halfway across the globe, to pay some work to someone who did some small task who I don't know where I live but gets the job done, exchange/trade value.

All these in a matter of minutes without having to go thru a bank. Extremely convenient and fast  ;D ;D ;D

To be honest, I only use the crypto for earning profits here. Investment and trading are those activities that I utilize the crypto for it. Some cryptos are available and accepted as the payment method. But, some are only for investing or trading. But so far, i really enjoy this functionality.

The fact is that now there is a very limited number of places for the use of crypto currency and so far it is an asset that is most often exchanged on the exchange. It is really necessary to really expand the opportunities for people to fully appreciate all its advantages.

Interesting as it is.

And what you mentioned is right. People nowadays treats crypto as an asset and mostly for bitcoin users, it is considered as a store of value. But we have to contribute to the crypto economy by spending it. Look for a way that you can contribute it not just by treating it as an asset or store of value, spend a little of it.

I still use my cryptos (particularly btc and eth) for their original purposes, eth to fuel my token transfers and btc for paying my bills and loading my phone.

Currently its not wise to spend your cryptos due to its low value that's why its better to refrain from spending but rather buy additional holdings for the future bullrun.

It is just about the time due to as we know the progress of cryptocurrencies goes up now.

I think you are wrong, ethereum is used as a function with smart contracts, maybe for crypto that involves the product not actually running according to its function. and currently Q4 will run
I believe there will be many innovations involving crypto in the following year and run as a function.

Most of the people now are looking for the profit, because there are not a lot of place are accepting crypto for payment, but I ever used crypto for various transaction like buying stuff online and buying phone credit, but its not too effective because we need to pay transaction fee, after being calculated to fiat, its more expensive to buy using crypto

For now no full scale mainstream adoption for cryptocurrencies, very limited stores and services accept bitcoin and other crypto as payment. This is a deterrent factor but it's not their fault entirely, volatility is a thing to worry about. I believe stable coins like USDT, TRUE USD, and co should fit-in in the near future. Well, on my own part, I have used btc to pay for services just thrice.

Crypto is too early for money use. To be used as a means of payment, the market needs to grow a little more. Accepted payment point must also increase firstly.

In this time, crypto utility is still limited. Only few markets or companies that accept the crypto for the payment. However, it doesn't mean that the crypto is not able to utilize. Utilizing the crypto for trading and investing for me is very enough because it can help me to get the money.

Using cryptos for their functionality is relative and subject to what utility function the coin has. I personally use Bitcoin and ETH for payments for services online. Some coins have more technical use, coins like OPEN on the OPEN Platform are for the tech savvy people and so they would have more need to use them

I can agree to that, for the main time in my side of the world I don't think any utility company accepts crypto as means of payment not even Bitcoin. While this might happen in some few years to come when the blockchain technology must have been well adopted by many here, then we might see that form of crypto acceptance as a means of payment other than just the exchange trading we besically use it for now in my county.

Basically, most people use crypto currency only for trading on exchanges. But there are a lot of crypto-currencies and the scope of their application is also different, many people use tokens to pay for some purchases on the Internet, on various sites where they accept a certain token for certain services, in some countries you can buy real estate for crypto currency

You probably haven't used decentralized sites that pay in their Cryptocurrencies. You should try:

- Decentralized Blogging sites like Steemit, Busy, Bitcoin Unicorn.

- Decentralized Messagers like Status, Obsidian Secure Messenger

- Decentralized Video Sites like LBRY, BitTube, PROPSProject,

- Decentralized Social Media like Zappa (Steem Powered), Steepshot (Steem Powered), DecenTwitter (EOS Powered), Sola, Memocash, Ong.social, Synereo, MeWe

- Decentralized Sound Platform like DSound

You know the global popularity and awareness of cryptocurrency is still low presently and there are too many altcoins already. So many of them are only based on speculations for now. But I know that as time goes on, real life usage will increase significantly. Though bitcoin and ethereum are being used for online shopping nowadays.

I actually use cryptocurrency because it is much cheaper than receiving paypal for the services I offer. Currently Paypal charge a 3.4% (+ £0.020) fee I believe on all incoming payments. Cryptocurrency payments have a much lower fee, typically under 1% for the transaction fee. However, if Paypal reduced their fees to match, I would probably switch back since it's a lot easier to handle and track.

I use some of the top ones, like BTC, ETH and used BCH several times, but as for less popular altcoins - didn't have a chance. I think you do have a point here, people became so obsessed with investing in ICOs with just one purpose -making money, that they never even thought of actually using them. On the other hand, it can be understandable, due to the fact that lots of ICOs projects
are so complicated and they aren't integrated in people's lifes enough for regular usage yet.

I don't justify what you say, but that's what really happened. currently crypto has become a business and can be said to be a valuable asset. and about the functional is the effect of the benefits that we can use in terms of transactions or innovations. this only talks about the time until the day really runs according to its function.

It's not easy to use crypto for its functionality, because crypto is not legal yet. It's the reason why many people here are just using crypto to do an investment and I think there is nothing wrong for it as long as we don't break the rules.
