Title: Newbie Campaign (PRIVCY)
Post by: cabalism13 on September 30, 2018, 03:12:19 AM
Just have a look into this guys.

This smells something fishy.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5040642.0

Although we know that a newbie can start a campaign but still this one isn't related to the dev team and hasn't avail a copper membership for his account. He wasn't also able to use an escrow for the funds.

Is this could happen an attempt on Gaining Merits / Advertising Scam?

Its very suspicious indeed.
1. A new account and then his/her first post is about a bitcoin paying campaign.
2. No escrow

Its very shady and some of those who applied have already carried the signature so its a free adverts. I wouldn't trust the campaign manager and I hope that DT will go and try to look at it.

I noticed that thread while browsing my mobile. PRiVCY causes the worst spam since DeepOnion, which makes it very unlikely to pay in Bitcoin.

How credible is this user? I don't know him, and don't use discord.

That thread was started by privcy-manager (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2090501). He hasn't responded to the (alledgedly) fake campaign.

I don't know also about him. But I don't trust new manager without escrow.

I had send PM to manager about this thread.

He's very active on the Pricvy ANN, and looks like he's the one who manages the tread, post regular info and etc.

Yes, it's obviously falling people here.
(In addition)

3. Why they did not purchase copper member account or hire a reputable manager.

There are also lazy participants that keep wearing signature even they know the status of that campaign, they give free advertisements on that project.

Just from another point of view"Why the newbie account is an alt of the privcy manager?".

Maybe he just want some free advertisement about that project from 100+ members,so just creating a newbie account and posting a signature campaign thread and waiting for 4 days for the selection process. And he is defending on other side there is no connection between the project team. ::)

Usually the simplest explanation is true/accurate.

In this case, topic has been brought to the attention of the bounty manager, but has not yet responded or given any logical explanation.

All the red flags listed here are a good reason to skip this campaign. Personally, I do not understand how many people so easily dismiss all these warnings.

Sheep mate Sheep! And if the signature campaign doesn't pay, it's the bounty manager's fault. They want everything to be spoon fed because doing their own research takes too many efforts. You see people haven't stopped applying to that campaign knowing money isn't escrowed or there is a guarantee that they will ever get paid.

I am sure that those people are a good contigent to shit-posting in general and do not read at all the red flags above. Their greed for money has made them apply to a signature which with 99.99% probability will not pay at all. I have said it before but I am resaying it here, signing a message from the "so called manager" from a bitcoin address where he claims that he has at least the funds to pay the first week, would solve a lot of those questions.
