Giant Inside

We continue to familiarize you with how Giant.Exchange will work. The following is a part of an actual technical task for Giant.Exchange put in simpler terms.

An important objective related to Giant.Exchange is the deal execution block.
The platform will see two types of options:

1. Traders vs. Traders (TT in the interface)

The Broker periodically creates the 30-min deal cycle for all Traders in the ‘Binary option’ smart contract. During this cycle, the Trader can make several bets on various levels, both PUT and CALL. During the last 5 mins before the end, Traders will not be able to hold deals. This period duration can be changed by the Broker.

By buying this option, Traders form a joint fund. In the end, Traders with incorrect prognoses receive nothing. Traders who were right receive rewards proportionally to the remainder of the bets in the joint fund. If all Traders were right, they’ll receive a reward which equals the option price minus fees. If all Traders were wrong, they’ll receive a sum which equals the option price minus fees.

2. Broker vs. Traders (BT in the interface)

The secured fund is used by the Broker to open and maintain a ‘Binary option’ smart contract. The fixed revenue is offered by the Broker. The ratio can be made for CALL and PUT deals or remain default. The deal cycle is created for each Trader at the option purchase time. The Trader may choose the deal cycle duration from the Broker’s list. Only 1 deal can be made by the Trader during a single deal cycle, the new deal before the cycle end may be created in a separate deal cycle. If the fund does not have the required sums, the new deal is not created — the system sends an error notification.

All the critical difference parameters must be considered when making each type of binary options available on it.

Giant Inside

As you can see from the previous announcement, some binary options deals interface elements may depend on each of these types of deals. For example, the deal time is different for two trading schemes:

T-T (Trader vs. Trader) : a periodical deal cycle, here the ‘deal time’ is just choosing a delayed cycle
B-T (Broker vs. Trader): a time of individual deal cycle or after which period the deal will be closed

Other necessary elements of the binary options trading interface (both for T-T and B-T):

Deal sum (+ and - buttons) - regulating the broker deal sum size
Option reward calculation block with the info on other deals connected with this asset
Up arrow button - CALL deal registration
Down arrow button - PUT deal registration
Between these buttons: current price level which will later be captured in the deal
As soon as the user confirms the deal opening/participation, they receive a transaction confirmation window with an opportunity to turn such confirmations off

There is a ton of other equally crucial details that the developers of Giant.Exchange keep in mind when creating the platform. You will see more in the next similar announcements here on Discord/on our site.

Dear friends!
We would like to remind about the Giant project status once again. Presently, all the primary resources are focused on the development, as our brand technology will be the decisive factor of success. Moreover, we continue to expand our team by attracting Java and JavaScript professionals.

To prevent a misconception that Giant is just a decentralized binary options exchange, from this day forward we are separating the Giant blockchain news feed and the Giant.Exchange news feed.

As a reminder, Giant.Exchange is the first of many Giant blockchain use cases. Every network participant will be able to build and implement an equivalent product. As a development team, we did not want to waste time and started to build the first demonstration product before the SDK release. This will allow to show the opportunities of our smart contracts in the shortest possible time after this technology support is implemented in the Giant blockchain.

Dear friends!

The creation of a new website has prompted us to reconsider our strategy of communication with wide audience. We would like to maximize the use of our informational resources - and to do so, we need to understand which channels are top priority and most valuable.

This is why we have prepared a small survey. Your feedback and participation will lead to prudent marketing decisions and to the community growth. In the end, Giant will get the attention it truly deserves.

We are deliberately not offering any payments for the survey participation in order not to create false motivation. We hope that all community participants and especially masternode owners recognize the importance of their roles. The community feedback and support ensure the project success and the demand for Giant Coin on the market. The long-term benefits of participation are obvious.

I read the news of the team on your website, on Discord, on Bitcointalk and on the website Coinmarketcap.
I watch Trrello's website when messages arrive in the mail about any changes.
I look forward to the emergence of a binary options exchange and new exchange points.
Good luck to the team and patience to the community!

We are ready to summarize a big-scale work on the Giant.Exchange price motion stats graph. The main challenge was our compliance with the modern standards of binary options trading interfaces and to eradicate all unnecessary components. The Giant.Exchange graph must contain only the necessary information. In particular, the following tasks were completed:

1. The floating point should pulsate, and the previously-created point versions should be removed.
2. Remove the graph grid.
3. Draw a vertical level of the current time - a thin dash line.
4. Draw a horizontal level - the current price of the asset - a thin dash line - add the value of the current level on the Y axis.
5. Show the current point not in the middle, 70% to the left.
6. Select the scale along the X axis so that 5 minutes is shown to the left of the current point (it will be the minimum scale when scrolling the chart in the future).
7. Re-render the graph line.

I hope you would appreciate the amount of work and the results we’ve finally achieved!

I really liked your statement “The idea of smart contracts comes from Ethereum, the MASTERSTONE management is borrowed from Dash, and the closest equivalent of our current consensus model based on admission can be found in PIVX.” And this is the right direction of your path.

Dear friends! The next sprint has a special meaning for the project! First of all, we are talking about the release of the Team page you all are waiting for so eagerly. We are hoping to add it on the website by the end of this sprint. Nonetheless, another task may even be more important when it comes to the long-term project development. Alexei, a JavaScript specialist who joined our team today, will be inducted into Giant and start to add his own contribution to the Giant solutions in the near future. We have also reached an agreement with a FullStack developer who will be able to participate in our work at the beginning of November. More on our goals in the various project fields can be read in a most recent sprint backlog available at:

Why is your team a Java script specialist? What tasks will this specialist solve? Will its work be limited to the completion of the website or are there more serious tasks? I am very interested in your project, but so far I am skeptical about such projects. I want to get more information.

As of now he is working on the Giant Contract sandbox, which is testing environment. Now we'll cover his activities more precisely. We've already created a separated news feed on Giant Contracts.

Giantjs is the Giant Contracts Development Kit, which means a development environment and testing framework for Giant Contracts. With Giantjs, you get:

-Built-in smart contract compilation, linking and deployment management.
-Automated contract testing with Mocha and Chai.
-Configurable build pipeline with support for custom build processes.
    -Scriptable deployment & migrations framework.
-Network management for deploying to many public & private networks.
-Interactive console for direct contract communication.
-Instant rebuilding of assets during development.
-External script runner that executes scripts within a Giantjs environment.

Very amazing and impressing work from the dev team. This coin is so underrated at the moment like no other coin. But it is also a big opportunity for al the investors, because this coin will not stay for any longer at these low prices.

A x10 - x50 is possible.

Before summarizing the latest upgrades to our Discord, we would like to tell you why exactly it’s important. It’s no secret that many projects use Discord to increase hype by simulating the user activity. Only after several months of running the Giant server, we have reassessed the value of this product. Now we are trying our best to use Discord to:

support and consult our users on wallets & masternode launching
cover the news on the team and development
    receive the masternode owners feedback
expand the team with the active community members
    have votes on proposed initiatives

We also want to reiterate the idea that each network participant can add value to the product and benefit all Giant Coin holders. That’s why we’ve made new Discord channels to structurize this activity.

#heads-up - here you can report the website errors and incorrect info display on resources mentioning us
#services - info on services potentially beneficial for Giant users
#stop-spam - here you can help in keeping our server clean! Add info on active spambots for us to ban them
#suggestions - if you have any ideas on the Giant Coin exchange listing promotion and you are ready to provide help in listing, leave your offer description and we will contact you

On the Giant Discord server, you are now also able to read the news feed of Giant.Exchange and GiantJS separately. We want to make the server easy-to-use and efficient for the project introduction. The direct communication link to the community is also extremely important for Giant.

Before sharing the blockchain conference results, we would like to reach a common understanding on what the standard crypto event really is about. The topic is controversial but still it’s better to voice it as it is. Furthermore, we have already expressed criticism towards the crypto industry in its current state so our regular readers won’t be surprised by this next characterization.

The members of a typical crypto event can be divided into several categories.
-    Traders and wealthy individuals who are ready to keep a share of their capital in cryptocurrency to gain high return. They are usually more marketing-oriented and not well-versed in technical details
-     ICO projects ranging in quality which use aggressive marketing and in a constant search for investors.
-    B2B services which offer complex solutions for other projects for instance, exchange listing assistance. Exchanges with marketing strategies targeted on ICO projects.
-    Funds and B2C companies with package products for trading, mining hardware manufacturers.
-    Experts, blockchain enthusiasts.

Any attentive reader can deduce who hunts who on such conferences. Multi-million ICOs and unqualified investors are a main drive of marketing-driven crypto events.
This destructive tendency limits the crypto industry to be just a poorly regulated access channel to unqualified investors. In situations like these, the society surrenders a share of its freedoms to gain protection. Citizens partially delegate the decision-making process to state organizations which must have a relevant expertise.

However, the crypto industry has not emerged without any reason. It is a massive reaction to the world financial crisis of 2008 that has showed the imperfection of the international financial system. Due to its young age, the crypto industry has a low entry threshold and low level of participants competence. Freedom brings chaos with it. This is why the majority of projects are trying to fulfill their short-term interests, using their access to unqualified investors. Sadly, in doing so they are giving strong trump cards to organizations which often combat the crypto industry in general. All of this is an absolutely natural global economic process. Despite its inevitability, we must realize these things too to form our own adequate agenda.

To accelerate the development pace, our team has been expanded and we are welcoming Denis into our ranks! He is a Front End developer and he will apply his JavaScript skills in the work on Giant.Exchange. Ablai, Denis and Dmitry have already had a joint conference to separate the areas of responsibility as optimal as it can be done. Thus, Denis will adapt to Giant the fastest way possible. Denis will start working on the Dashboard while Ablai is going to continue making the Trading page which is using the base exchange trading logic.

Before talking about the latest updates, let’s first remind about the Giant.Exchange operational plan. The platform includes three basic elements:

   1. Dashboard – its algorithm is collecting data on all trades, generates individual and general stats and displays it via the Dashboard interface;
   2. Trading page – through the engagement with the smart contracts system, the deal info is captured. The page interface allows to track the underlying asset price motion process. The final result is also calculated in the smart contract;
   3. Governance – the members of the platform have a right to vote or create new votes dedicated to their Giant.Exchange upgrade proposals, such as: Oracles list change, initiative financing, dividends distribution, new asset addition and more. The weight of the vote will depend on the role that the member plays in the project.

It’s obvious that the Trading Page demonstrates the layout of the binary options trading. We aim to make the interface easy-to-use and intuitive.

Governance is the best guarantor of the platform developing no matter who the Giant Team consists of. The Dashboard will use the data generated in these two platform elements. This means that Denis will work on the Dashboard simultaneously with Ablai who is now developing the Trading Page. He will prepare an interface for the tables which will show the distributed data. As soon as the platform back end is ready, the interface will start to display the actual data.

You can already get a glimpse of how the Giant.Exchange trading will work. One the Giant.Exchange website, you can choose the time, set the deal size, choose the option type and follow the graphics. The difference between CALL and PUT options is best described in our article Binary Options types:

   - High option (Call option): betting on the price direction going upwards, time specified by brokers;
   - Low option (Put option): betting on the price direction going downwards, time specified by brokers.

Give it a try!

https://beta.giant.exchange/trading/btc_usd/main_title/my-broker-1

As you can see, everything is extremely simple for any potential visitor. Those of you who already saw this page in, say, September 2018 should come visit this interface again - it has considerably changed and became much more understandable. Share your thoughts on its further improvement to make Giant.Exchange even better!

As you know, the Giant team is, among other things, preparing and promoting the decentralized binary options marketplace — Giant.Exchange. We have found ourselves in a unique situation because our goal is not to gain profit from the marketplace users. We need to prepare a working product that will demonstrate the strongest advantages of the Giant technology. Together with the financing system, this is yet another unique project feature. Quite soon, we are going to tell you about this phenomenon by using the industry of binary options as an example.

Still, we continue to act in the best interests of the Giant blockchain participants. One of indicators of our intentions is the Giant.Exchange landing page. The work on its design has ended and now we are working on the Front End side. You can already assess the design quality on Trello or by following the direct link. Please pay no attention to the placeholder texts.

The Giant team has made transparency a defining attribute of the enterprise. We share with you not only the development progress steps, but also the general state of things in the project and our own understanding of the cryptocurrency market as a whole. We’ve always declared our goals openly - from global to more specific. We would like to remind you about the point we had started from.

Our ultimate mission is to create a technology compatible with actual business processes and able to change thanks to the mechanism of self-governance.

Since the moment the Giant blockchain has been launched, the team has been growing in quality and quantity. We have been increasing our understanding of the processes of blockchain development, community management and marketing. Among other beneficial results, this increase has allowed us to create project Staker.tech. We want to use it as an online platform to make the market more transparent and user-friendly, raise the level of public understanding of the cryptocurrency consensus algorithm called Proof-of-Stake.

Three months ago, we’ve made a fundamental decision to continue financing the project by using our own funds. Even more, the Giant team has been increasing its own portfolio by purchasing cheap sell orders. The new project will finally allow us to become fully self-sufficient and thanks to Staker.tech, we will no longer be dependent on short-term Giant Coin fluctuations.

This is why now we are not afraid to admit that the Giant smart contract technology will not be introduced into the Giant blockchain mainnet in 2018. We want to openly declare the objectives we are facing but we are not willing to repeat the mistakes of other project by making promises of these goals. Of all thousands of blockchain projects today, nobody was so close to the addition of smart contracts in a running blockchain like Giant. During the initial assessment of the future workloads we could not recognize all the additional bottlenecks we later found - that is because our technology is one of its kind and nobody before us made anything similar. Despite these tough news, every unique solution we found only boosted our motivation to work further.

We want to continue moving in this direction and use as much time as we need. Just like other projects (e.g. Ethereum and ALQO), we are no longer setting any deadlines online. All of our current progress and approximate readiness can be estimated with GitHub, Trello and our usual sprint reports. Quite soon, we are going to update you on the Giant.Exchange and GiantJS development.

Thanks for following our project and for your efforts in the Giant blockchain decentralization! Without your passionate support, we wouldn’t have been able to launch and secure our blockchain from attacks. We promise that the level of transparency will stay as high as it is right now. You are yet to see the project success with your own eyes!

Several months ago, we have published the technical documentation of Giant.Exchange in a special chat for masternode owners. They must have appreciated the innovative nature of our invention. The word 'invention' is used here for a reason! There is no user-oriented project on the current market which has the same level of management decentralization. Today, we are going to lift the curtain and tell everyone how this is going to be achieved. Our new article has a detailed description of the Giant.Exchange decision making. We are sure that this case is going to reach beyond the horizons of the cryptocurrency community. The blockchain will allow us to solve the longstanding problems of information asymmetry known in economics. You also must not forget that this approach may be used in a much wider range of industries.

Right now, our developers are working to create products that will ensure the project’s long-term success. At the same time it’s important not to forget that a secure blockchain is another necessary condition of the Giant well-being. Despite the fact that the current condition of the Giant economic infrastructure is good, there are still things to improve in this field, and that’s why we would like to raise a certain issue for community review. It’s a question related to block rewards structure.

Before voicing our initiative, I’d like to tell you about the logic we have used from the very beginning. Both the masternode collateral price of 1000 GIC and the high level of block rewards during the first year were not a random coincidence. We wanted to make Giant masternodes available for the wide audience and speed up the network decentralization process. The miner’s reward was way lower because we wanted to prevent potential price and difficulty manipulations. Despite this, we had to take actions and commence the move to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) before the date initially set in the Roadmap. This was mainly due to the fall of the NiceHash mining cost and the following cryptocurrency price downfall. At that time, the community has taken a proactive stance by supporting this initiative, and all users have made a mandatory update in time. Furthermore, our Devs have made an excellent job by making this transition as fast and painless as it could be.

I hope that now you can understand the current situation with rewards: 16 MN + 4 PoS. 16 MN has been made for faster decentralization, while 4 PoS is a PoW phase legacy when we had to decrease the risks posed by mining.

We would like to leave this behind and solve current tasks. One of them is the prevention of a certain underestimated PoS vulnerability.

In PoS, the block approval is made by the pool of stakers. To make a 51% attack, one shouldn’t have a half of coin supply, a half of staking supply will work. It’s easy to deduce here that the pool size depends on the interest of the network participants in staking.  Right now, we are experiencing a lack of motivation to participate in PoS.

It’s time to express your opinion on this important issue. If you are ready to propose your own rewards structure and substantiate it, your variant will be added to the voting list. As soon as your various proposals are collected, we are going to launch a Discord vote. The current discussion will be held in Discord in  #proposals-chat. I would like to warn you that the discussion on governance fees or developers fees will be undertaken only during the next vote cycle.
The participation in the discussion is open for masternode owners who have verified their status. This is fully corresponding with our philosophy of responsible participation in the life of our project. All other users, however, can freely track the discussion and voting results. If you still did not verify your masternode ownership, please send me a masternode page screenshot from your Giant wallet client software.

We’re glad to see the vibrant discussion caused by the yesterday’s announcement of the block reward vote. Many of you have proposed the reward size change to be made in favor of the decentralized governance mechanism. As such, we can’t ignore this issue and decided to include it into the current vote. Below you will see a brief description of this mechanism usage.
As you know, the Giant blockchain supports the Proposals system — a long-term financial mechanism to maintain its work after a mutual compromise is reached among all the network participants and community members.
Anybody knowing what to do in order to upgrade and promote the Giant blockchain can bring in a new initiative. It must include a good description, arguments for the initiative and a wallet address to which a certain sum will be transferred after the new proposal is approved by the community.
The Proposals Fund concept will allow Giant to make this process automated and as transparent as possible. The decentralized decision-making is made with the help of the masternode system. Every masternode owner acts as a responsible member of the investors board. Each proposal will have a corresponding vote.
Results are put into action in the form of superblocks. Superblocks automatically allocate the funds for a community-approved initiative by sending them to addresses mentioned in the vote. To prevent excess supply, the initiatives will be financed from the rewards decrease. The deficit of successful initiatives will lead to the coin supply decrease.
At this phase, we need to define the precise reward size for one superblock. We would like to ask you not to forget about this parameter when creating your proposals on new reward system.
As soon as all proposals are formulated, the first stage of the vote will be launched on Discord. After the results of this vote become clear, 4 leading variants are to be put on the next poll of masternodes. You will find out more about the mechanism of this next vote in advance, in our next announcements. Stay tuned!

I did not understand. Is it about reducing the remuneration for the block or redistributing the existing reward for the block?

Title: Re: [ANN] Giant (GIC) | MN+PoS | Blockchain & Smart Contracts
Post by: GiantUser on December 21, 2018, 09:59:03 AM
We’re glad that the vote has set a new precedent in history of Giant. This precedent has made many community members to express their own opinion and demonstrate a bit of misunderstanding towards certain issues. I’m going to answer to the most of the controversial themes raised.

Why distract ourselves to voting when we can develop Giant.Exchange?
Different project departments work in different spheres. For example, Ablai and Denis are building Giant.Exchange with the support coming from Maria and Dmitry Filinberg. The activation of self-governance mechanism will happen thanks to the efforts of Dmitry Myachin with the help of Dmitry Filinberg. It’s much more rational to change the code only once, and this is why we are holding a reward structure vote right now. You should also remember that the change and the following mandatory wallet update will not happen in the near future.

Why do we need this ‘self-governance mechanism’ at all?
It’s a necessary step in the project development, as it will allow to optimize the outsourcing of various market promotion initiatives which currently fully depends on the Giant Team. Self-governance is the way chosen by all truly decentralized projects.

What are we voting for?
The vote has not started yet. The previously-made announcement was only to voice our position and start the public discussion after which the balanced and most popular results will emerge. Among the members of our community there are people with different vision of the Giant future. Quite soon, we are going to start posting options which will be present in the vote. Of all these variants, 4 will be put on the masternode owners’ vote.

How does the vote option look?
It must represent a viable structure for block rewards we will be able implement in 2019. Note that in May, there is a planned block reward decrease and the options should be formed with this change in mind.

Dear Giant community! We wish you a Merry Christmas and want to shed light upon the current state of Giant.
If you don’t get what’s been going on in our chat last week – this message is for you.

To be ranked among the leaders of the MN space, we need a self-governance mechanism. This will give us:

1. Decentralized decision-making by the active majority.
2. An instrument for potential partners who want to promote the project in exchange for financing.
3. The decrease of workloads for the marketing department which could focus on strategic goals.

The required mechanism is already present in the code. We only have to activate it and set the Superblock budget. See more on this mechanism in this article:
https://giantpay.network/pages/governance-mechanism-of-giant

We’ve got a funny situation here: to choose the Superblock budget, we need a voting mechanism we cannot activate without choosing the Superblock budget. But we’ve found a solution!

As an alternative, we hold this vote in 2 stage. The 1st stage will be held on Discord. Four options will be picked as a result. The 2nd vote stage will be held with the use of Giant wallet clients and masternode signatures – and we will soon instruct you on how to participate.

What we need from you at this moment is to:

1. Get familiar with the posted variants for the vote available on #block-reward-vote
2. DM me the reward structure you consider fair in case you don’t agree with anything else
3. Express your own opinion in the chat

We are going to set a deadline not earlier than a week before the application receival ends. After this, the masternode owners vote will be held on Discord. We know that it’s a long and convoluted scheme but, in the future, after the Giant proposals’ mechanism is established, similar votes will be held automatically in accordance with the pre-set open rules. Follow our updates!

Hope you had a great Christmas, here's a quick heads-up on our short-term progress. A more extensive review of our work will be in the usual Sprint News at the end of this week.

- We've published a new article regarding the block reward vote and the main reason of its structure. It will serve as an answer for most frequently-asked questions about this major event in history of Giant:

Original: https://giantpay.network/pages/giant-block-rewards-vote
Medium: https://medium.com/@GiantProject/giant-block-rewards-vote-8de778f4b7e9

- Giant is in Top 5 Masternodes for Q1 2019! The list has been made by Melchionda Network. Check out this vid to see more:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpQQSDYFJTM

- Giant Coin (GIC) has been added to TrttNodes - a platform affiliated with Trittium (TRTT). Before the end of this year, no fees are imposed! This has become possible due to the prolonged and fruitful communications of Pavel with Trittium CEO Evgeny Kagan. We hope for a meaningful future cooperation. The team is proud of TrttNodes features they described:

*  The fee is in TRTT coins and so the Trittium service will not have your coins sold on the market.
*  The hosting price is 5 euro flat per full node and 4% of profits for the shares.
*  Almost instant withdrawals. So far no one has waited more then 4 hours and 95% withdrawals were immediate.

We haven’t been making new announcements related to our Giant.Exchange development progress but the most inquisitive of you might have seen the recent changes on GitHub.

During this sprint, Ablai and Denis have almost finished the primary work on the Dashboard and the Trading section. On Dashboard, the Activity tab is 100% ready. This tab shows the user actions. This is going to be extremely useful for all roles – for Traders who will have an opportunity to have a useful log of the deals, for Brokers whose binary options need classification and for Oracles to see when they added a new eponymous smart contract. This tab will become even more useful for everyone as the time goes by. All history records will have active links to follow.

Denis has also started to work on the voting page – we believe you are able to realize how important this component for Giant.Exchange is. The MVP (minimum viable project) will soon be updated with tools to create a new asset registration vote. The list of info parameters is individual for every binary option present in the vote. The table formatting is, however, universal: every new parameter begins from a new row. Denis has already deleted old unnecessary templates – this will help to operate with the dev tools much more efficiently.

https://beta.giant.exchange/

And, lastly, pull requests that were recently merged are available via the following link:

https://github.com/GiantPay/GiantExchange/pulls

We strongly recommend to track the changes on our GitHub to always have a full picture of what we are doing.

Dear Giant enthusiasts!
As some of you may remember, we told you about Masternodes Awards 2019 held by BetweenBlocks together with Masternode Buzz and several other projects. We've hinted that Giant Coin (GIC) can become a winner in The Best Masternode Support category but there are several other nominations where Giant has good chances to become first - especially with your help!

1. The Most Innovative Use Case - Giant founders will use the blockchain-based Giant.Exchange to solve the problems of toxic binary options industry, and potentially expand the bets topic beyond crypto prices

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1J3bcPoMhCEYQtH5hrpJbgNrqiMzN6NwAk3rnAgj_kD8/viewform?edit_requested=true

2. Best Masternode Community - Giant is already a unique project with the active participation of masternode owners in strategic issues, namely the change of the Giant logo (remember the old one?) and bug fixes. The enthusiasm of our supporters should also not be underestimated

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1BHdpIkH0njJOuPAtSjZoWu8G5oCb1fVmNYoT7jgQpds/edit

Other options are The Best Wallet or App and The Best Marketing Strategy in 2018. The latter is, again, quite relevant for Giant, as there are not so much crypto projects with such a swift reporting on the recent activities of the team.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15EnI0ax_KT88VpTOJkXdCDkLdZOj-lm3hpBOKDKJcc8/edit

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1NB79Vp0CiC52zNqcs0t692Pz8xAyUn2AnnNFJW0mw_c/edit

Of course, the choice is always yours and you can even vote for a different project, but we are still counting on your support. Thanks!

Our work is a constant learning process – adding smart contracts into the existing blockchain cannot be called a mundane process each cryptocurrency project undergoes. This is a non-trivial task requiring to solve many optimization issues and have a practical vision. That’s where Alexei Bokarev comes in: his attentive work on the edge of blockchain technologies will bring Giant smart contracts closer to each Giant investor.

The smart contracts metadata with the description of their methods (functions) allows to track a smart contract of choice and call it with the help of special commands. One of them is network – as of today, it shows accounts, the number of blocks and hashes. The last block of the blockchain always shows its version, the Merkle root, while the hash of the previous block serves as a basis for the smart contract call. When deploying the smart contract, 33 declarations are calculated which fully covers the MetaCoin contract syntax.

A week ago, Alexei has changed the display of the last block and now the system also shows its height, nonce and timestamp. Overall, the CONTRACT_CALL task has been one of the non-trivial ones we mentioned before: not even the Ethereum network has a full integrity when it comes to smart contract parameters. Still, it’s extremely important to divide different types of transactions and make the Giant contracts network secure.

Considering the importance of the upcoming vote the first phase of which will be held on Discord, we are raising the reliability of masternode owner status verification. This solves several problems at once. You can read more about this in a detailed verification guide. We would like to remind that the submission of proposals for voting will end January 14 and the first phase (Discord voting) will last for 10 days. Only masternode owners who verified their role as told in this guide will be able to participate. This is why we are introducing a temporary Discord role that will allow to vote while all of the owners of the obsolete MN-owner role will keep access to the masternode owners chat until January 31.

Luckily, all the procedure takes no less than 5 minutes, you can leave the rest to our automated blockchain-based digital signature solutions! We hope that by reading this guide, you will also learn more about the unique opportunities provided by cryptography.

Please carefully read this guide for more information:

https://giantpay.network/pages/masternode-owner-verification-process

It’s no secret that some other cryptocurrency projects have started to borrow our best practices such as a private chat for MN owners – this was our innovation introduced to the masternode market back in August 2018. Now we are once again introducing a new standard based on advanced technologies. Let’s raise the Giant Community quality to the next level together!

From Discord ANNOUNCMENT !

The Discord server is one of the primary means of communication for the Giant project. It plays a major role for many people to start using Giant. Sadly, this same channel can be used for malicious activities. On several occasions, some users deliberately tried to spread FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) to provoke a panic sell and buy cheap coins. Although we are open to any kinds of discussion, we cannot ignore such efforts and put new community members at risk. This becomes even more important in the light of the recent community growth throughout the last month.

:shield: This is what brought us to the following decision: if the user demonstrates aggressive behavior in the chat, ignores all of the counterarguments and never tones down, it leads to a FUD role – a prohibition to post messages in all chats on our server. This isolation is a good alternative to banning, as we don’t want to deprive this toxic user of the project info source altogether.

:gic: And now let’s switch to good news. The yesterday update of verification of the masternode owner role has caused a wave of user activity and at the moment, over 30 users have acquired the digitally-signed role. It will allow them to take part in the upcoming vote. @Bruttagente has made the verification process as stable and fast as possible. As a reminder, you can verify your masternode owner status with a digital signature to take part in the future voting with the help of this guide:

https://giantpay.network/pages/masternode-owner-verification-process

:gear: @htw has completed the launch of Giant masternodes on the IPv6 server and proposed several additions to our guide to ease the process. Thanks to him, @mani and @ballz41 who helped him to figure this out. The updated guide is available by this link:

Quite possibly, everyone knows about the so-called Fake Stake attacks.
Our developers took some time to research the problem independently and without resorting to quick copy-pasting of GitHub commits made by other projects.
The Giant user funds are secure for the following reasons:
- The authors have studied PoS 3.0 while Giant operates under PoS 2.0
- This attack cannot perform double spending as a result

Now you can track the development process in #github channel on Discord.
This is especially important considering how we don’t want to distract the devs with a parade of inquiries on their hard work.
Commits are broadcasted from three main product repositories:
 - GiantCore
 - Giantjs
 - Giant.Exchange

My plans for tomorrow include a joint call with Blockfolio CEO Edward Moncada on the addition of Giant to their platform.
It is the world's most popular Bitcoin and cryptocurrency portfolio management app. If you are using this app, please tell about your experience.

Don't forget that quite soon users that have not updated their MN role will lose the access to the private Discord channel.
Please follow these steps. It won't take more than 5 minutes.

You can check several GitHub commits collectively made by Ablai and Denis. It has been added to the Giant.Exchange votes archive.

https://github.com/GiantPay/GiantExchange/pull/20

Ablai is currently making the platform back-end side (Graphql and Node.js) while also reviewing the updates made by Denis.
The Giant.Exchange (GEX) community voting is one of the most underestimated features of the binary options platform: every new underlying asset or data source can be put on vote. This will result in GEX having only what the end user needs! Another important aspect of GEX changeable by the vote is the distribution of dividends.

This is how the archive currently looks:

We would like to tell about a good strategic advantage of Giant Contracts that will seriously contribute to all future dApps security.

It's no secret that smart contracts made on new programming languages have mistakes often missed by their original creators. One of the most illustrative examples is Solidity - this was recently pointed out by Duncan Coutts (Computer Science PhD) from Input Output Hong Kong, an independent team of experienced blockchain engineers.

As he says, the problem is that some programming languages have well-established practices of software creation, while others are still too young. Because of that, smart contract creators leave unfixed errors which can lead to DAO hacks.
JavaScript developer Alexei Bokarev who’s responsible for delivering of Giant Contracts joins this discussion and tells that the programming language itself is very rarely to blame for security vulnerabilities - ultimately, it's still about the people responsible for code writing and about their skills.

The future smart contracts system on the Giant blockchain will have less chances to become compromised because of a human error by the decentralized apps creators: all of such contracts will be written on a language that is widely-known and researched by the large coding community - JavaScript. This is how we seek to make Giant Contracts available for the widespread use. This will also ensure that every Giant smart contract is a job well done.

I was curious about why Giant chose JS. Now it's very apparent. Smart.

Good news for everyone who's interested in Giant Contracts progress!

GiantJS developer Alexei Bokarev has made it possible to calculate the exact sum needed for the Giant contract deployment and WP methods execution fees. This also means that the system is already able to show the budget you need to work with smart contracts (for now, only with dummy ones).

However, we're yet to finish this work with fees for all possible methods execution. The so-called WP methods are only a limited range of commands one can use with Giant Contracts. The fees calculation for other methods will be finished faster because now our devs have a working basic structure.

The main advantage of our fees calculation mechanism is the ability of the system to determine the real contribution a chosen smart contract is doing to the blockchain and dApps. This is different to some popular projects where the fees' value is calculated by looking at the amount of symbols in a contract. This is a primitive approach, as theoretically there can be smart contracts which have less symbols than usual ones but play a more important role in the system.

Other notable recent breakthroughs include smart contracts payments to multiple wallets at the same time. The wallet info display is now complete as well. You can see all the progress for yourself here, in our corresponding GitHub repo:

A quick heads-up for everyone interested in the most recent Giant news.

Giant CEO Dmitry Filinberg is currently attending TeamLead Conf 2019 in Moscow, Russia. This event is made exclusively for Team Leads to exchange experience and find together what it means to be a good administrator.

For instance, one lecture will be dedicated to the topic of responsibilities delegation by Skyeng.
Another one is directly connected with the way how we work — Team Lead Soft Skills Scrum Style by Orange Training Group.
And while Dmitry is gaining valuable insights, we continue our job to bring you a secure cutting-edge smart contracts system.

You can always suggest.

Another recent event: Giant Coin (GIC) is now accepted as a payment method by HumanAction.io — a libertarian online apparel shop.
After visiting it, you may soon find yourself drinking coffee from a cup with Ludwig von Mizes while wearing a T-shirt with Rothbard or Hayek.
Giant founders fully support the concept of a free digital market without any state borders.

It is that you team devs have a discord, many projects for some reason are limited to telegram.
But like to know whether there will be new exchanges for trade? Those that are have now clearly not the best.
And what are your immediate plans in the roadmap? The deadlines have shifted slightly, but I think this is currently the most important thing for investors.

In about 4 days, the reward for the block will decrease and the supply of new coins will be halved. From 13,940 coins to 6940 GIC in a day . So that the profitability of MN does not fall, it is necessary that the price of the coin increases by 2 times. And this is not exactly going to happen. For this you need to raise the demand for coins 2 times. And the use of the coin will not be soon.

i get kicked out of discord, because of the follwing post, can anyone explain me why?

Excuse me if I repeat myself, but I would like to explain my thoughts again:

I am convinced that the team works hard and very well and that is exactly why it is so important to bring imagination into the coin again. The problem is that the team can still do such a good job, but if the coin disappears in no one country, it will have no influence on the course. As unpleasant as it may be, we need a masternode, possibly staggered, but starting with at least 10,000 coins, which is worth a MN at the current $ 500 minimum. even better would be a minimum of 25,000 coin with a MN worth about $ 1,200. With this value and good marketing for the upcoming exchange and gic.bet we have the chance to find investors and generate true high turnover to bring the price up and stabilize.
We will not find any investors who are now buying 10 MN for $ 500 with a yield of $ 2.26 per MN a month.
We can not dream, the team can work so hard and deliver well, under the current conditions, it will not bring us back to where we want.
we have to start again, a $ 1200 with about $ 56 a month and a chance at 5-10x, we have to push that. look at smart, they have gone from 10,000 to 100,000.
I may be able to contact a few youtubers, with a reasonable number of followers. Here we can present the transition as well as the upcoming developments and at the same time organize some interviews with our developers if they are ready.
With all that and the chance to win a MN from $ 1,200 to $ 6,000 (5x) and a monthly 250 $ return, we'll get new investors on board and enlarge the community

That's right, that you were kicked out and from here you have to be kicked out. Lol If you need a coin with a high value and a chess pledge, then find one and invest in it. For normal investors, such a system is not suitable.
Not a single coin with an increasing pledge survived! All these coins are dead.
You have to be expelled from everywhere, with such offers.

No one has disappeared. Developers in place. Only there is no news. While there is no promised product, smart contracts and options exchange, this coin is one of many for which there is nothing. As soon as they deign to issue the product and the coin will be used as a means of payment, the coin will be in a row with those coins that are in demand and deserve attention.

Title: Re: [ANN] Giant (GIC) | MN+PoS | Blockchain & Smart Contracts

I think that the team follows the path of GTM coins and buys coins from the market. Most likely, in the near future we will not see any release of the product and news until a large number of coins are bought by the team very cheaply.
No more than 7000 new coins are issued per day. Until the team is sure that the coin reset has stopped and they calmly redeem all new coins from the market, there will be no launch and no news.
Later, when the bulk of the coins will be bought out by the team and scattered in small amounts at many addresses, then the movement and news will begin.
Do you think that the team just spent a year working, made the interface of the binary options exchange, released a beta version and dropped its hands?
We took into account mistakes, look at the experience of our partners and calmly redeem coins, continuing to work. Now is not the time to raise the price of a coin. You need to collect the scattered stones. When everything is ready, a lot of coins are bought out, they will launch their own exchange, launch smart contracts, and enter other major exchangesa.

If the team wanted to kill coins and disappear.
It would have been so a long time ago.  Every day, a turnover of more than 60K coins.
With such a turnover per day, the price of a coin would already have been given in 1 SAT.
But we see the price of 150-250 SAT for 1 coin.
Tell me, who cares about this? Who needs this?

While the project is being done, announce the competition that if there was not a single care in the wallet from the address for a year, then after 366 days such an address will receive a reward from the team in the amount of 5 percent of the amount located at the address. If the masternode worked continuously for a year, it will also receive 5 percent.

All you have to do is lock 10$ worth of BLAST coin for 3 months and you will have free hosting for that period. After the period ends you can withdraw your coins or you can extend you masternode for a new 3 months cycle
Also you dont need any linux knowledge to create a masternode. Just follow a few steps on the platform

More and more, the project becomes like a hoax. There are no volumes on exchanges. Only cheat. On the exchange Graviex sales and purchases go between the upper and lower rates of coins placed on the exchange. For a turnover of 0.3 Bitcoin on this exchange, only a commission of 0.2 percent is paid. This is about 5-6 dollars a day. The rest is a hoax. On the Cryptobridge exchange, they do not want to re-establish themselves as a team. Coin is not verified. So they are afraid. They do not go to new exchanges. All broadcasts, more than a year. just empty. There are no existing projects.
I will be glad if the team refutes the distrust of the coin with its actions. But at the moment, the project is a dummy and trading on exchanges is fictitious.

I did not leave the robot, at the Graviex exchange, the freedom to maneuver, and the result was such. In 2 hours there was one sale of two GIC coins. And before that, the trade was intermittent from 1 to 9 minutes. All GIC coin trades on this exchange are scams.

GiantBBS (https://imgur.com/a/5wQi0eL) is a new anonymous messageboard and marketplace for the command-line that is currently using Giantcoin as its primary supported currency.  More details coming soon, but if you are interested in testing feel free to shoot me a message @KhanJohnson on Telegram.

https://www.masternodes.biz
On this site, you can place a masternode and a supernode coin for 50 cents per month.
Checked. The cost of connecting a GIC masternode is $ 0.50 per month. Masternode works. I paid with a DOGE coin. The site has all the statistics on the coin. To get access to hosting services, you need to go through a quick and easy registration.

I find it hard to believe that this is the first javascript based platform. Wasn't Stratis the first coin to do this?

That is a very good question, one member of the developement team ist still writing messages in telegram from time to time. There was a time maybe a year ago, giant was on it´s way to become a top coin, but suddenly there was nothing....

It´s very sad, because there was so much potential and the community was very active these times. We will see what is happening next, but right now it seems dead.

Here is a link to the Beta of the GEX https://dev.giant.exchange/trading/btc_usd/main_title/mybroker_1 (https://dev.giant.exchange/trading/btc_usd/main_title/mybroker_1) I have been holding Giant for 2 years and the team has always responded on Discord https://discord.gg/M87yqs4 (https://discord.gg/M87yqs4). When GIANT launched the project it was in the beginning of a bear market, however they  kept on pushing. I am up on my investment regardless of the price and I can see my self holding for another few years. Keep up the great work Team Giant and Thank You for all you do.

Giant is about to undergo a major shift, and here is what drove us to this decision.

For more than a year I have had the feeling that our initial goals have gotten lost among numerous tasks. What was meant to be our tools has become the goal itself. Let me explain. When we started our project the goal was to create a popular decentralized service. We chose the path to build our own blockchain, because it could solve several issues. First, we didn’t want to go through ICO. Therefore, we were able to grow our community within the masternodes space. Second, Ethereum, the only decentralized smart contracts platform out there, which could suit our needs, was going through its own struggles. So, the masternode technology was meant to help us to grow the community and to decentralize the network using pretty basic game theory. Plus, we could optimize the tools and settings for our vision. We have laid out the whole path to get there in 3 whitepapers and even in a technical paper. The beta exchange that was meant to become our first dApp came out later. The struggles that have happened next have been described numerous times, so I won’t go through them again.
