All investors nowadays are still waiting for the market recovery  and since the BER months started. which is still hoping to become profitable again , but unfortunately the market is so stagnant and didn't shows a sign for a progress until now which is unlike before  year 2017 , during ber moths market growth rate gradually increasing.

*What your new predictions guys on this circumstances?
*Are you still assuming as well the market will bullish before year end?

Edit :  'cause in my opinion probably it will stay stagant until this year end base of this results nowadays  . Correct me please.  

Different times, eventhough we have success last year when we enter the "Ber" months, this year, its very different. And we have a lot of positive news, however, investors are very reluctant or shall we say getting smarter.

I also have the same feeling that we won't even get to 5 digits at the end of the year. probably around the $8k-$9K mark will be good. So its better not to put too much expectations so that we all won't be disappointed at the end of the year.

If the market is "stagnant",we all have to just shut up and keep gaining more bitcoins for the future.
If the bitcoin price decreases,we should buy even more btc.
Whining about the bearish market and asking everyday "When the price will start to increase?" just won't work.

NONE of the "investors" are waiting for anything in short term. "Investors" are investing for long term and being at the bottom and stable like this is like a dream for them while it is a nightmare for "day traders" which is what you are talking about.

as for "day traders" not "all" of them are waiting for the recovery. some are waiting, some are accumulating and some are currently in altcoin market pumping small altcoins to make 100% to 200% profit every couple of days.

All of this drop is about the global market crash. Look at the stock market right now for USA, it has lost over a trillion dollars in value in just a single day of trading. The tension in middle east and in Korea regions have triggered uncertainty among investors that negative wave also impacted into crypto space too.

Now, when everything going that low you can not expect people to keep their portfolio intact in bitcoin, specially people in USA right now cashing out to either cover the costs of the losses they had to endure or they are buying back at lower prices. These are all connected to each other and I do not believe we will see another crash like this for a long time. This was the end all be all drop that could ever happen and from here on we have a green future.

My thought with this bearish market is still the same, We can still see a stagnant atmosphere in the market of bitcoin a motionless stay at the end of this year, I say that the price is still pretty good and you can surely still earn a bit but not that much anymore, Let's be patient and wait for another bull run may occur in the future and let us just enjoy the bearish market and increasing your stock bitcoin for now.

We're still very far from getting out of this bearish sentiments. We continue to repeat the pattern all over again and again. Trading sideways->then after a couple of days/week we will see $300-$500 pump then dump and back to square one, rinse and repeat. So I'm not seeing any changes on this trend and it will continue until we have some positive news that will trigger a good break out run. So yes, patience is the key and take this opportunity to accumulate more bitcoins in you wallet, and stop complaining. (for newbies) ;D

Somewhen the market will recover. I think the next  2 years.

trading sideways is also ending though. last time we had a major rise and fall seems to be a long time ago! now we are left with more stability and the rise and falls are much smaller now.
i think the "sentiment" is more of a confused and stay away sentiment with most people giving up on bitcoin which has historically been a good sign of reversal.

yesterday the price of bitcoin dropped very far, bitcoin lost $ 300 in an instant.

I am not asking you to believe in my predictions and analysis, but if indeed the price of bitcoin rises at the end of the year it will hurt when entering at the beginning of next year, so I hope that it remains at the price we all know still remains in the $ 6000 price area

300 in a price of 6600 is less than 5%. Is that the volatility you were waiting for? Last week we had 3 big trades where the price moved by 3% and people didn't get scared and didn't talk about it. People complained that the market is boring. Why are you so excited by a 5% move? This isn't much bigger and did not break any important lows.

Its reacted to support and the market is walking like its on stilts at the moment, flat level and slowly sideways as OP says.     Really we'd rather see the market on a pogo stick bouncing upwards not this simple line across the graph.
I think its clearly got to return to a more active state to judge properly, 6500 is the target upside and the recent low remains as longer term support.    I wouldnt call it stagnant exactly but apparently there is no great struggle at this price in either direction, the break down we saw was the end of a triangle with two trends opposing.

6500 is the 8 day average, 50 day roughly and a previous ceiling so yep thats the place to beat or jump across to really draw much of a bullish conclusion.   otherwise its wait and see

we have 2 options:

1 -) if by some miracle the SEC approves the ETF (I do not believe the SEC will approve), but if the SEC approves the ETF then we will see the price rise to $ 9000 and stay between $ 8000 to $ 9000 until the end of the year.

2 -) if the SEC not approve the ETF, then the price will fall even more than the current price.


even if I do not believe that we end the year with a high price, still this is just my opinion, anything can happen


As you said, this is your opinion and everything can happen.

I'd rather choose a stagnant market over an unstable and unpredictable one, clinging towards losing value rather than appreciating. We're far from a bullish trend if that's what everyone's wanting to have, and the market conditions are too bleak to support such movements, causing some crashes after a few climbs. This may not be the year for climbs and such, given that there isn't enough players and not enough money invested for bitcoin.

Markets are still consolidating at the moment.

I doubt that a bull market will emerge by the end of the year at this stage because there are simply no signs of a trend reversal, and the last bear market did take around one and a half years before it actually bottomed.

2017 is something special because it was the biggest bull market we've seen in BTC, and there was a lot of FOMO which accounted for the growth. That simply can't be compared to this year where a huge correction started the year and the sentiment continues to be bearish.

Expect the market to be stagnant for at least a few more months, potentially with dips along the way until we test the $6k support or find a new bottom. But bull market right now seems extremely unlikely.

I don't have any predictions anymore but I'm expecting that it will reach $10000 by the end of this year.

But that's not going to be the same like year. I doubt that we're going to reach $20000 but as long as we're going to see some indication that the market is recovering well. I wouldn't expect more than $10000 but as long as we get out of $6000 - $7000 line I think that's already a win.

The bear market is still going on. This is something we don't want to see, but I still haven't given up on the market because there are still many new altcoins that can invest and make money!

just hope that the market will be bullish at the end of the year even though unlike last year and anything can happen just hoping to be fine.

The trouble with stagnant market is that people start to look other places, thankfully the stock market around the world seems bad right now lead by the american stock market going crazy low recently. However dollar has gained value which means the drop in crypto recently was actually expected considering dollar gaining value but we can't expect dollar to keep increasing in value because of the inflation.

Since we are in a stagnant market that doesn't do anything exciting unfortunately people have been looking other places because bitcoin and crypto has not been making us any profits recently which is what we were hoping it would eventually but it has been 10 months of pure losses.

Even the last 3 years of Bitcoin price movement do really give out bullish movement on Ber months on very year but it doesn't mean that it would definitely happen on this year or into next year.
We have seen that crypto market is booming up wayback on last 2-3 previous years but when bitcoins price reach out the peak of 20k usd and then suddenly dumped down way to 6k price range I would say confidence of investors wont really be that the same for sure.

I don't see any major changes taking place this year. It is still stagnant and there is no sign of either a pump or a dump. Not sure if this should be considered good or bad, but we should hope for something like an ETF to boost the markets again

Market is stagnant due to the extreme bureaucracy in the crypto exchanges, which became worse than banks for the purpose of trading.

The bearish market will continue  till the end  of this year as no major news is coming into the market.  If ETF was approved we could have see bitcoin making another high but since it was not approved the market has to remain stagnant until another issues come up again.  I believe that now provide us with another opportunity to invest and if you refused to buy now you might be left out of the next bull run.

Yes I observed that worse scenario of crypto and I also had bad days to that mate. I need to focus on holding my funds, because one day there will be a better and unexpected surprise to happen. I know this was just a part of our challenges in world of crypto, so face it and don't turn your heads on it.

You are probably correct, it is unlikely the market is going to recover by the end of this year, this seems to be the most common prediction but the price does not seem to be giving any sign that could be the case, so the best we can do is to assume the worst and for the time being we need to be very careful with our bitcoin and not to invest it in useless coins.

The current state of the market can be said to be stagnant, because there are not many changes. Like the example that what happened to Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin does not experience many changes and if there is a change, then only a few percent. Actually, I am much more like a stagnant and stable market like today, in my opinion this will be much safer and will be able to bring more users. Governments, and International Entities are discussing and creating laws about cryptocurrency and token assets to ensure more access and safety for the public.

In a dream world, I would compare the December "bubble" with the internet bubble.
We need some time to get all the official things together and public interest needs to grow again.
Products made by new entrepreneurs who enter the crypto economy will create a gateway for the public, to start using cryptocurrency or blockchain based systems.
This could be the next big social media, currency/asset system, governance system or anything else you can think of the use for a token could be.


I think the good times we have seen in the past is only the beginning.

The truth is that stagnation is the most common state of all the markets, it is impossible for an asset to be pumping and dumping all the time and like most things at some point an equilibrium is reached and that is precisely what we are seeing now, and until something comes that changes that equilibrium we are going to keep seeing the price not moving much.

The market is still in a bad condition, but don't let yourself lose patience, stay calm and don't panic because in the future the market will definitely be able to recover and make a high jump.

At this moment we didn't have any action to do is just wait at the right time when the market goes up and the bull run will happen. Yes, the market was an almost flat flow of the price currency and stack on the range price which 6K dollars plus. But, no doubt on this bitcoin let's have longer patience and wait until the market turns to green on these BER months.

It's a long wait for everyone since from the start of this year and it quite it have a steady market price. We actually looking for a hype but it is not really important to us, the best thing is that crypto is still alive and survive from this tradegy happen for now.

Is there a reason why we should be happy that crypto is still alive? Crypto in general is doing fundamentally better than ever before.

It's more so that people who never ever bothered with anything related to investing haven't seen something like this happen. The way the market kept going up last year was assumed to be normal for crypto, and that's how the correction that followed afterwards shocked the crap out of the newbies. Maybe that explains why some people were thinking the end was near.

Just because people don't know when to enter and exit a market doesn't mean the asset itself is bad. :)

Well mostly waiting for the market to climb since it was for long no progress in this market condition. The good thing that we can do is to wait and calm since market is still active though price has been stable.

You had a wonderful insight mate, and I appreciate that kind of attitude. For that idea, we should remain patient enough in order to survive the problems that we had, specially the struggling period where many traders pulled their assets back to fiat. Even though the stagnant market behaved unpredictably, but still many holders trust cryptocurrency.

And what is actually new? Market and price are looking more or less the same way for a longer time now. But I don't know how is that sign that price will drop suddenly.
Anyway, I think that many are having too much expectations from the end of the year, wishing for price to jump sky high but I don't think this is going to happen, not this year anyway.

Anyone who is at least watching the development of the market has certainly noticed that, Bitcoin has not done so much and practically stagnated. It consolidates at $ 6200 - $ 6400, and attempts to overcome $ 7,000 have not been successful yet.
But there is nothing to worry about, at least it is time to buy bitcion and other cryptocurrencies. Because growth time will certainly come, the question is when.

It doesn't have to drop, I am not saying it will but it can also go up. So far whenever historically price stayed stagnant for a long time the price went up afterwards. Check out the prices, when it drops it drops very quickly right after a skyrocketing all time highs, so if you are afraid of bitcoin price dropping after a stagnant period than that would be historically inaccurate but everything happens for the first time eventually so I can't say it won't happen.

But, historically speaking I am quite happy right now because when the prices stay at the same levels for a long time it means it is gathering power (whales gathering as much btc as they can slowly so it doesn't go up quickly) and than one day everything skyrockets and we reach a new all time high price which is unfortunately followed by a huge crash.

After the huge crash, just wait for the surprise because in a long run we might not stop the massive pumps that will going to happen. I don't think everyone will be calm in the future when that certain scenario will occur. Maybe I just sit by and sip a hot coffee, while watching on my monitoring seeing greener market became astonishing.

Market is not stagnant as it has been moving consistently within a range for days now, and I would not consider that as stagnation at all. Just wait to see how retail traders react to breakout and then you will understand that there is actually nothing stable yet about this market.

Moreover, this is nothing new, considering that at some point in the market like this, we will always get to see that scenario in which the bears are either fighting to retain their positions or the bulls trying to take over, or vice versa, which is why we tend not to see some pretty huge movement most of the time in such cases.

No one even knows what will happen, whether it is this year or next, the thing is that in the end, there will always be that scenario that will get to play out the way the market wants it and for now we can just be patient to see what the market brings eventually.

Sure, there is no doubt that a lot of people are having pretty huge expectations but normally, i would not expect something huge this year either, and all I would just be hopeful for with a positive breakout now is to probably get to see it move to some pretty good level, and I would rather be looking more at next year, before expecting anything that serious.

I think we have seen enough dumps and are used to it now. This is not a big surprise now. The new thing will be when we will see big pumps which are stable and are not followed by the dumps. Then we can say that bull cycle has started.

What people really mean when they complain about stagnation or lack of excitement is that growth is stagnant. People have gotten used to the crazy growth last year and so they think price growth is a given. I expect even more of these to pop up around December lol.


If that's true, you can grow your holdings by selling now then using all that money to buy at a cheaper price later on. Not saying that you should, but if you really expect that to happen, why not right?

If you are interested in bitcoin for the long term then short term variations in its price should be irrelevant to you, it seems a lot of people that are supposedly holding their coins for the long term panic whenever there are important variations in its price but that is just a waste of time because in the last months the price of bitcoin has not moved much.

I personally do not think that a bull market is necessarily around the corner right now.

With the current period of consolidation and sideways movements, I expect this current trend to continue well into the future, potentially even mid to late next year. Overall, there just hasn't been enough time elapsed from the bear market to say that it has bottomed 100% yet. And also, there seems to be no potential causes for a complete change in sentiment in the entire market in the foreseeable future.

I'd expect stagnation and occasional dumps to happen over the next 6 month period or so, before any real chance of recovery can be seen. That said, it is a great time to accumulate due to the low prices and the fact that the bottom should be very close, and that many institutions have shown interest in bitcoin which should cause speculative interest, regardless of whether there are any actual benefits that brings.

There's a bunch of progress in the crypto world nowadays but then people are so focus in the price that remain stagnant that's why those good news are barely reaching the masses. When there is a major movement then that would be the time that people would be looking at the cause of that movement but it may be just the decision of those who hold a large amount of fund to pump the market because they have accumulated enough. If you have still funds now then it would be better if you would be accumulating as well because sooner or later, that pump may happen.

We are coming closer to were breakout will happen and that is why we should invest now. The bearish trend is over and I did not expect bitcoin to go down more as it has been predicted but I am expecting a bull run from now on.

I agree that we are going to have stagnant year, this year market is absolutely not too good, the price unable to go up and slightly keep on falling down, and it seems like the situation will keep on going like this for a long time, this situation could jeopardize the Bitcoin existence, hopefully there are some news that able to lift the price

Exactly this is the last moment when we are prone to such good chances and opportunities. Believe me people have bought so many coins in such hard times because they got to know the values of bitcoin and their impact on lives in coming years. But unfortunately, we are just waiting for bitcoin to touch the lowest most point and it count be other than this current moment.

It is still too late to say the bearish trend is over but at the same time, we have been seen some consolidation for a while, the signs that the bears are somehow weak at least for now, and the possibility that this can end up being a phase for accumulation which is why there is not much of a movement.

Also, expecting a bull run from now is not something I would be so keen about, most especially for bitcoin, and the way things are looking at the moment, we might just see a slight movement upward for bitcoin and then possibly a bull run for the altcoins, and probably towards next year, we might end up seeing some bullish movement for bitcoin.

I have a feelings that bitcoin price will start to pump in the last two months but it will continue in the first quarter of the year 2018, as for now the stagnation is the sign of equilibrium of supply and demand. But as of now bitcoin take it slowly and surely until it will reach it's full potential.

Your expectation is possible on future but current market is really breakout because all the altcoins are continuously fluctuating in crypto market so this will be going to moon in next year. Majority of the peoples are hold the Bitcoin so it will never move to downtrend.

People were not happy 2 years ago, yelling Bitcoin is too volatile and now in 2018 people aren't happy because the market is too "stagnant". People should stop to hope the Bitcoin's value at $10k -$15k-$20k for 2018 and surely 2019. Instead, they should change their strategy to a long-term period something like 2 years.

At least, for bitcoin, I will not be expecting any serious bull run to say the least at this point in time, and I possibly will not be surprised to see some level of accumulation for most of the markets, but in anyway, it is still too late to start assuming what could be happening, knowing the level at which the market can be a bit surprising generally.

Nonetheless, I still expect that even if bitcoin peradventure switches to an uptrend, there won't be any serious move until maybe next year or thereabout.

it's just a suggestion or speculation, maybe a price change ever happened like that, but I myself have also seen that when prices are stagnant for a long time then the price pump. the point is not always after the price stagnates, prices may go down? price moving depending on certain conditions dude

Current market conditions are still in a condition of price correction from last year's increase in bitcoin prices, so it has become reasonable if stagnant market conditions like this might also be an effect of no good news that could trigger a cryptocurrency price increase again.

This time is quite good for bitcoin because of stability because sometimes volatility will harm it's reputation, price correction and stability is sometimes good to the system  the price movement is slowly creeping but surely, hopefully when it bounce back the price is more reasonable and not artificially manipulated.

Period of adjustment definitely takes more time before we feel again the volatility. This year, cryptocurrencies experience some corrections which may be one of the many reasons why it's being stagnant. Well, this is much better compared so that our worries wouldn't bother us in terms of value to go down.

Too much expectation of the market to change but you do guys knows that despite of all the positive news coming everyday it still didn't affect the market. It is because there will be no bull run this year, and if i were you, i wouldn't expect too much because it's so clear that the market is not going to have a bullish market. Yes, the price of bitcoin is showing no progress after a big increase at the beginning of last year. Bitcoin prices tend to be stable and show no progress. I am not sure when this situation will stop, but in my opinion it will take time to get back up. Maybe it's true, this will last until the end of the year and I'm sure that at the beginning of 2019 prices will gradually recover. And in mid-2019 prices will experience growth. But I still believe the price will drop several times, but will recover. The market is stagnant as it is now in my opinion because of a correction after a very high price increase at the beginning of last year.

It seems like the market condition in mid-year is usually a stable market condition, you can see from the price movements from 2013 to 2018, the cracking of bitcoin prices will usually fall when the year starts and will rise at the end of the year has a lot of price movements so you should be able to use it when conditions are stagnant like now to buy some bitcoin.

Agree. We have really seen the last bottom price and I doubt that we are going to see another bottom at the end of the year. On the other side of the spectrum, the price seems to be very stable so we will not also see another massive bull run, so its tit-for-tat.

But its better this way though, instead of seeing market volatility that a single news will really make the price goes deeper that will worry most of those investors. And this is might be calm before the store, or accumulation period for everyone.

 Remember that in trading and investments, even in stocks and oil, there are times when this type of market's conditions exist and most times, it is time when a very heavy breakouts is about to happen.  This time around everybody is seeing bullish trend in future and therefore, it is not wise to sell now.

until now the market is in a stagnant condition and if seen then the situation does not change too much. the market only moves a few percent. but it should be remembered that things like this have weaknesses and strengths. take and take advantage of every situation that exists and try to maximize momentum. it will help us to get far better results when the market looks stagnant and not too many changes occur.

This is the right thing to do there is no point in complaining about what is happening in the market, what we need to do is to take the right actions and at this moment the best think that you can do is to buy bitcoin because as we know the price is going to eventually recover and the only thing you need to do is to have the guts to buy bitcoin now that the price is low.

You are right, the market looks like a garbage also the competition has increased and ICO's are jumping in this and want to make their tokens popular,  People were very much excited to see the last quarter as the value may go up, unfortunately it still remains same and there is no improvement. Happiness has turned to sorrows but still holding patience and waiting for a bull run.

  The market still on stagnant situation due of its high volatilization on which can affect the instant changes of the prices of some currencies. Thus, the market was facing this huge struggles, we have to hope and keep optimism to deal this kind scenarios.

Don't wait for it. The more you pray for a market recovery the more anxiety will kick in for every little drop, much more if the price declines 10%. Bitcoin's natural growth will happen over time and it's not really good to look at btc at the short term right now.

Yes it is stagnant and for the revival, we have to wait longer rather than staying impatient which causes nothing but chaos. So better hold on to your coins and stay optimistic about the revival of the market which could be anytime sooner next year.

I will be very reluctant to use the word stagnant to try to describe the way the market is moving, because we use that word in order to describe when the market is not doing much and in the last days the market has moved in a significant way, the only downside to it is that it's not moving in the way we want.

it might be quite risky to buy when conditions still like this, because many people still expect prices to go down to $4k, but if you are a trader I suggest to keep analyzing charts and markets, maybe you can find a moment and chance to make a profit. but I dont think its a problem that hope and expectation that it still exists, it can revive the market if done by many investors..
