does anybody know why there was this big pump 3h ago?

It is good for Bitcoin and altcoins. I don't know for how long it will continue like this. Some people are manipulating the value of Tether to boost the crypto market?

Today, bitcoin's value increased around 15 percent. It didn't take long to get to $7500 and the way the price increased it wasn't natural, just a pump, it came down in a few moments. Now it is around $6800.

This is just flash trade, it may have nothing to do with nothing! The market however is getting ready for waves of increase considerong tge cheap prices of cryptocurrencies in the market todau! I wwould say it is wise to take good position in bitcoin now!

It seems like it's related to the tether dump which caused some people to jump into the btc bandwagon on Bitfinex. The price quickly went down so it seems like the market isn't ready to consolidate around the high levels (+7k), so I'd say the only good thing that can come out of this is that we consolidate above the last resistance level which is around the 6.7k mark and the rest of the exchanges follow, current price is 6900 on Bitfinex. But tbh, there's a high chance that the proce will go down again to the around 6400 levels just like the other exchanges.

The news about Tether being a scam hit the market with shock waves and caused a lot dumping of Tether and as a result there was surge in the price of BTC. This was very momentary though, because within 2 hours the price went back to $6400 from about $7500. Again, this begs the questions;

1. With this kind of high volatility and obvious manipulation of the price of BTC, will the SEC ever get to approve ETF applications? Seeing they always cite price manipulations as they major reason for the decline.

2. TUSD has been touted to the true stable coin amongst others like PAX, CUSD, etc. But earlier today, at the heat of the whole Tether dump, I noticed price fluctuation in TUSD, it was hovering between $1.24 and $1.10. This was quite strange because a stablecoin is supposed to stay put at $1, and there should be no reason for a stable coin to move relative to the Dollar. So again, I ask is TUSD a stable coin as touted?

Yes you are right this the impact of bitfinex also there were rumours like it will rally till 7k. It is good recovery somehow I believe it will change slowly and turn it to a hot topic. This pump as has shown smiles on lot of investors, this is good sign also there is quite some improvement in altcoins as well. Hope good days are turning back.

Most likely it was just another pump for those to whom it was profitable, someone just pumped the coin, I do not see other reasons for such growth!

       What ever the reason of this pump is not important for me , fortunately its doing better of having a short run and hoping that this will continued to increase to its peak , and this will start now.

Yes, it was due to the dump of Tether. It was so funny that the stable coin lost almost 25 percent of their price. Just believe in crypto guys and everything will be great. Do not look at small dumps and pumps, we are waiting for the trend change.

Someone inflated information about the tether, and because of this, no one expected to grow, in my opinion it was planned, I do not advise trying to make money on the tether at the moment, it is better to sell it.

  Everyone is excited to notice the sadden spike on the price value of Bitcoin, it seems it just a market testing again just like before, yet, this maybe a good signs to note that had happen in the Crypto Market, its ups and down again. one experts would note that this really a good indicators that Bitcoin is gearing up for another market movement upward. i am optimistic that once these market resistance break loss then i would say, it is a possible Bull Run in the making...

I think it was because of Tether. They saw something bad about tether and they probably got out and try to buy in their tether for Bitcoin and that was the reason why Bitcoin pumped.

They are dumping their tether for TUSD but in fact that they are converting their USDT to the bitcoin before they can try to buy TUSD. That's made a flash sale to the tether and it has been dumping the price of tether to the bottom. But this time tether recovered its price again slowly.

This pump seems to have shown a smile to many investors, this is a good sign that there are also some improvements in altcoin as well. Hopefully the good days will come back again. This is a good recovery, somehow I believe it will change slowly and turn it into a hot topic.

To my mind it was a first signal about the coming bull run and it is very cool because people are ready to deal with it and their patience in not endless.

The whales are transferring very big amount of tether to binance and bitfinex.
And they're pumping btc, i'm sure something big will happen soon :D

I think the last quarter rally is about to begin. There is this believe that every  last quarter of the year. Beside the year has been on most bearish and this rally significantly shows the reversal trend is about push us to the end of the year. One thing i know  is that the   bitcoin will exceed the $10K point before the end of the year.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

To my opinion it could be connected with a new around the world because they have an influence on the market and it could not be ignored absolutely.

it's not a surprise, isn't this often the case with bitcoin which is never stable with prices, like last year which was even higher than that, so it has the possibility of going again this year

My understanding is that this was a response to tether tanking quite hard for a stablecoin. According to CMC it dropped way below 1$, to as low as 0.92$, possibly more on some minor exchanges. An answer to that was pulling money out of tether and buying bitcoin, which increased in its price (people were probably afraid that tether was going to crash completely). Then, tether slowly climbed back and is not sitting at around 0.98$. I think it will soon stabilize at 1$ again. In the meantime, bitcoin went back to around 6500$ where it was trading before the pump.

Actually the bitcoin and etherium was have a big pump for now.
And we hope it continue until the end of this year because i'm just holding some bitcoin and etherium for a longterm.

A rumour had spread about the tether being a scam and all the invstor withdraw from it. This sudden dump lead to a wave in the the market and the price of the other coins had a bump. It is normal in the cryptomarket.

There could be many reasons, and if this remains for some time, you might grab the opportunity too. Also it might be a good sign for bitcoin too, but again, this might be a temporary push to just attract the investors. So, it's fine to be just patient.

For a long time i did not see any pump like 15-oct. They create FUD about usdt and people come to buy BTC and make btc price over 7500$. I think whale pump for sell their BTC with high price.

This was a manipulation associated with the provocation of Tether, everyone began to massively sell the USDT in favor of Ethereum and Bitcoin. In the near future, the price will recover.

I think bitcoin will strengthen at 7400 dollars but it turns out that it only lasts a few hours. Bro, what's going on and that makes everyone feel that btc will start the pump

It's because of the rumor about tether(USDT) going to delist.that's why people's are converting usdt to btc and altcoins.So the big pump was happened.

People are running away from tether and buying some other things with it.

So, the reason of pump is tether dump.

I think what happened last 10/15/2018 was just a normal response of btc since the successive dips in crypto market where I consider it as a normal price increase. I believe that the whole altcoins depends on btc market movement wherein altcoins also had made an uptrend trend after the increase in btc. I also think that during that day, the demand in cryptocurrency becomes high which also triggered the slight up trend increase in price value.

One thing i can't understand, why price for btc in USD also growed? If it's manipulations with tether so why the price in real USD changed at this moment?

This happened due to the strange situation with a stable coin called Tether. The price of Tether dropped for a day and due to this drop, the price of BTC and ETH in USDT rose. Just a strange short pump. It is not a bull run or something else.

The price went upto $7500 in that period. It was good to see such pump in a long time. Is there any chace the whales were involved? I have heard how they manipulate the market.

But really, can't you guys take a break for a second on all this unnecessary curiosity once the market moves a bit? You see, the market must always find a reason to move from time to time. Those heydays it used to be on how bitcoin was a bubble because of its constant volatility. Today the volatility is gone and we are earnestly asking for its return.

IMO, tether Pump's effect especially on whale trader on bitfinex seems pessimistic about the global value.

As long as it's not keep happening, you shall worry less but if you want to make the profit , just sell order on preferred value just like I did on my local exchange

Today i read an article about bitcoin prediction, next bitcoin price surge will be bigger than previous one occurred last year in December,hope at the end of this year 2018.

I think that the market will be in such a suspended state for another half a year. Why think so? Because in half a year (maybe a little less), the SEC will decide on Bitcoin. Then we will see a clear movement either up or down.

no one seems to know the certainty of the pump alt coin today, of course that is all just market speculation, and I think the answers from friends are all close to the truth, for myself I still observe the movement of alt coins with a thin smile

Looking at it now, the line of pump goes too straight and the dump is almost as fast, which truly looks like a manipulation:

I tried to search the news for that day, but nothing seems to explain this sudden movement. All the articles I see are just dumbly stating that the prices went up and went down by certain percentage!
This might be it, but I don't see any specific news about Tether that we published on 15th of October and could trigger such a weird picture of the market.

This big pump you experience before maybe resulting from a sudden change of the value. We can also take into consider that it might be manipulated by something that we didn't know for the meanwhile. What a good thing to do is to grab the opportunity when there is a big pump.

Probably because someone was pumping it. there are lots of reasons why pumps happen and most time it is just whales playing with the prices to benefit them and the average investor just has to sit by and watch. The thing with big pumps like this is that there are always followed by a dump which means that if you buy at such a time then you are going to end up watching the price go down

Maybe they have big pump on this coming of year 2019. But on this day has no sign if have a big pump.
So for now we need to wait on when be going to pump again.

Up and down the price is common so it is clear that there is a cause behind it, maybe there are more enthusiasts so the price can pump quickly.

I can not say that today was something out of the ordinary, but still every day it seems to me that the market will still have more chances to become stronger, because the market is really becoming stronger.

It was caused due to the  speculation that Tether is not fully backed. There is a correlation with Bitfinex which is a part owner
in Tether company and they are  heavily trading with Tether as well. Many  people were scared and in panic and started moving
 their Tether to other alternatives. It was a big contributing factor that day for price increase of BTC.

the  only thing that   i  can  relate  this  big  pump   of  today  is  the  similarity  of  the  past  year  that has  happened  as  this  and  last  year even  more and  i  hope  it will continue  in this way.

Probably traders are starting to convert in preparation for the upcoming bull run. Most of the crazy stuff happens in October. So it is normal that we "gear up" by taking advantage of the "still" reasonable price/s currently available. This may actually be a signal. Something that we may consider.

It is all about hype. Real rate does not changed, so there were no pump. BTC just recovered to its normal stage after the fall. There is nothing to talk about.

There is nothing to talk about. BTC felt to 6000 then it recovered to 6000 and it is the stable price for it. No bumb, no movement at all, nothing to hype.

I think we can not predict for sure the ups and downs but I am sure all of us are hopeful when we see the ups. Keep believing in crypto!

    We never know what will happen to the market during the market trading? a lot of issue's confronting the crypto market, the issue on Scammer, Hackers, not to mention the never ending issue on Regulation by the financial institution by the government by the countries not totally accepting Crypto into the main stream market, price value goes ups and down dependent on the level of consumer's behavior towards the market, the volume of investment is very critical to the reaction of the market as the traders, HODL and investors posted their investment into the crypto market, these may contribute to the crazy movement in the market.But the bottom line it is most likely because of the Volatility?

I consider that it was some kind of repetition of big bump. We all can see that market is waiting for BTC to rise, so the entire market will recover.

I don’t quite understand what kind of pump I’m talking about, because I see that the market is falling today and it’s already the second day, of course, I understand that the market will definitely recover again, but this is a good opportunity for new investors.

It turns out that it was something like manipulation, so that most people still start to think that there was a change in trend, but now the situation as a whole has not changed at all and we are systematically moving down.

The red market after the hard business bricks, which broke into two camps and also large investors sold their assets on a large scale. This can affect the bear market, this is what I have in mind. What a surprise that made almost all panic.
