Title: mass ban
Post by: polyballz2 on October 15, 2018, 12:07:35 PM
some say from several sources that many accounts are banned on this forum and this MOD does it simultaneously, is that true ?? I just want to know this information from here, is it true that this forum will be tightened until it's not clear.

Yeah, you heard it right. And more accounts are to be banned if they don't follow the rules.

Users are banned if that account is discovered to be violating the forum rules.

There is no simultaneous, or spontaneous banning by the MODS, if you are banned and make another account to complain about it in several posts, it would also be banned as that is ban evasion and against the rules.
A banned user is only allowed to make a single thread on meta as an appeal

most people here only work in the bounty and always obey the rules but sometimes it's always banned

Anyone who breaks the forum rules would be banned.

Some other forums are criticizing BT for it's low tolerance to spammers and rule breaker. But that's one of the reasons why this is the top cryptocurrency forum.

If you read the rules and keep to it, you can not be banned.
If you don't read it or choose to break it regardless, you should be banned.

This is why they all get banned. Here is not a working place, it's a forum meant to develop ideas and improve the block-chain ecosystem together with all the concurrency projects, but huge part of the users see it as a main source of income which is completely wrong concept and ruined the idea of discussion.
They add no value to the discussions here only posting meaningless content to reach the bounty requirements, all with the sole purpose to be rich one day.

If you are drawn to the forum only for income, you are doing it wrong.

Yes, everyone wants to get results from this forum, because there are already gifts in this forum, so they will always join the campaign for daily income.

Ever wondered why the forum name is bitcointalk, not bountytalk

This is a discussion forum, you develop trading skills and learn a whole lot about cryptocurrency through quality threads and discussion

If you follow forum rules and stick to what the forum is built upon, then we do not have a problem with that

But don't get it wrong, the forum is not against bounty hunters but spam posts, even with a signature on,you can still contribute effectively to the forum, and not get banned.

I HOPE SO! :D

Regards, someone who had hundreds if not thousands of spammers banned.

A "mass ban" could occur when a cluster of spamming alts are detected. The admins will want to destroy the whole nest of vipers.

OP is an alt account of the banned polyballz (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=864588). His case was discussed a week ago:

My post is fine, nothing is empty, this account is made zero, does not buy other people.

You're breaking the rules right now by making multiple posts in a row.

You've been banned likely for this:

I don't know exactly, but as bitcoin decentralized online digital currency, bitcoin makes transactions anonymously, then there has no chance to add bitcoin under regulation. This is just my observation. We will see in future

Until now, I have never heard of any country that regulates Bitcoin or even the central bank. because bitcoin is decentralized online digital currency, bitcoin makes transactions anonymously, so there's no chance to add bitcoin under the rules. This is only my observation. We will see in the future.

Sorry for the fact that i quoted so many posts, but i felt it was necessary to make the following observation:
1) you were banned
2) you opened a thread in meta to discuss your ban
3) you were told that you were banned for copy/pasting
4) you acknowledge this fact, but still keep on posting

Did you read the rules after you were banned? If you continue posting in more than 1 thread or outside meta while being banned, this is  called ban evasion. This is a bannable offence...

I see only positive sides when offenders of the forum have been banned.
If you have arguments that someone was blocked by mistake then you can dispute this decision in Meta.

Why are you asking this and why does it even matter? People get banned for breaking the rules and you were banned for plagiarism. Why is whether staff ban people 'simultaneously' or not a burning question?

"Friend". Do we really have to go over this whole rigmarole again? Why the hell would you create an account with the same name as your "friend". You even said it was your account in your first post here:

I do not know why my account is banned here, and do not know what the error is, I did not violate and always follow the rules. really sad to have to create a forum account from the beginning and now it's hard to increase the rank.

why did I make the same account, because my first account got banned, so I didn't post, so I made it with the same name I will be able to post again even though from the beginning again.

Not to give you any ideas but you've been IP banned, so any new account you try posting from will be banned as well. Basically its the mods telling you, you're not welcome in BCTtalk not now, not ever

I'm pretty sure that's not true. The forum doesn't ban accounts based solely on the IP.

If we find out that an account is owned by this user, he will be banned for ban evasion. Otherwise, he will probably never get caught.

It's as simple as ABC, if you didn't follow the rules you will definitely get a ban, and yes the forum is more tight now than before, things that were overlooked in the past are now been taken serious, and one of such area is Plagiarism

IP ban can be removed by paying small amount of bitcoin so which means the banned user can make new account?

Its not right the IP ban is for the person who creates lot of accounts from one IP (basically people uses VPN) so they got IP ban or they found serious trolling or spamming where their account will get nuket and IP will be banned.

I don't think this is true, Can IP be banned and all account login through the IP be banned too? I ask because I have seen people who run cyber cafe shops and many of their customers uses bitcointalk, if that's the case it means in such a case any customer account get banned through the IP other people will be affected. The Mods are smart enough not to implement such a feature. So i don't think that is possible.. Just saying, anyone can prove me wrong.

Correct, no more second chance is given for those having plagiarism account once they are caught by MOD's. It is automatically get banned due to stealing work from others or copy paste work. That is the right way I guess to eliminate and filtered those spamming account.

Look at this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5023825.msg46859622#msg46859622

PAAAAGES full of spam coming from Newbie accounts, all registered around 2-3 September, all with 0 Merit and all with 14 Activity and all in the same campaigns. This is clearly one and the same robot. Some of these bounty campaigns have ended weeks ago.

I have been reporting this for days now, ONE BY ONE, I feel like a clown. Really, I've got a life, you know. This could be a full-time job and I am always interested to help cleaning, but in that case, I want a salary or I'll talk to the Union. ;)

Why haven't these accounts been banned???

So please: MASS BAN!

These bump bots posting crap are more or less allowed, spamming thousands of telegram usernames and altcoin addresses doesn't get them banned. I guess this has replaced the "good project" work spinner spam bots. I'd really like to see those threads trashed, and all spammers nuked. They earn big money doing this :(
