Title: bounty rules and ban
Post by: ExchangeCoin on October 16, 2018, 02:16:24 PM
Hi, we plan to organize Bounty campaign but we aren't sure if all of the rules are in accordance with the regulations. We would not want to get a ban. Is here anybody who can check below terms of our campaign?

To join the BitcoinTalk bounty you need to fulfill ground rules:
Rules:
1. At least a Jr. Member rank to wear our signature.
2. Minimum 20 constructive posts per week with our signature.
3. Posts made in the following sections (and all their child boards) will not be counted as valid posts: Marketplace; Off-topic; Archival; Marketplace (Altcoins).
4. Unsubstantial posts or posts with less than 80 characters will not be counted as valid posts.
5. Must wear our signature code and/or avatar
6. No red trust score.
7. No multiple accounts/farming accounts.
8. If you leave half way, you will not get paid for that week.
9. To perform the bounty of BitcoinTalk, you should fulfill ground rules with proof of consistent weekly activity to determine performance.

In meta we actually do not fancy bounty messages, please keep them in the ANNOUNCEMENT section..

IMO please cut down on the 20 posts per week, it'll do our MODS a whole lot of good cutting down on the crap that's gonna be let loose by that number.

Nos 4 and 7 are the factors that are directly related to the forum and need to be enforced to reduce spamming and low quality interactions.

All your rules and guidelines look to be in accordance with the forum regulations.

May I suggest that the minimum of 20 posts a week be reconsidered as it is a little high and work force hunters to make low quality posts just to complete their weekly task.

Few quality posts promote your project better than numerous shitposts which would likely repel investors

If you want to just have a team of monkeys smashing keys then that sounds like a great plan, However if you actually want some decent impressions I would suggest raising the minimum rank, and adding an earn't merit requirement 5 merits would be enough to ensure the posters are literate.

Read all rules from pin post of bounty board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0). On addition you have to careful those are direct related with forum, like signature bumping thread etc.

Additional advice;
1. You can allow to post of proof of authonication, but you could collect bounty report by Google form to avoid spam. Few reputed managers are doing as well.

2. Better if you can avoid Jr. Member for signature campaign and require merit for signature campaign. Like Jr. Member should have minimum 2 merits, Memebe 12 merit, full member 110 merit. So you will get quality poster and it will help reduce spam. For example read this thread; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4675126.0

3. Don't try to bump your thread, help forum to avoid spam.

4. If you really want to prevent spam than create self moderated bounty thread, so that you would be able to delete spam post.

Here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5039301.0) is more suggestion, may be it would be help you.

You can add Altcoin Discussion section as undesirable. Jr.Members who's signature spamming mostly write there and in other discussion mega threads.
It's much more important how you make a participants selection. You need to check post history all of them and also during the campaign.

This is the only fault I spotted

2. Minimum 20 constructive posts per week with our signature.

I think you should reduce the number of post per week,

I will encourage you to follow the footstep of some of the high ranked members who are bounty managers.

when you see some bounties been run by most of these high ranked members, they normally ask for 10 - 12 post max in a week.

I think that number will make the hunters make some good post rather than trying to meet up with the 20 post

it will also reduce spam in the forum, let's say you have 120 people in your signature, with 20 post per week

your bounty campaign will generate minimum of 2400 post per week and most of the post adds nothing to the forum.

The best you can do is to help the forum fight spam and it begins with you by cutting down your post requirement per week.

this is not just for you but for other managers as well.

Good luck with your campaign.

To add what others already said, I also have advice. Don't pay for posts made in spam megathreads. Nobody read posts in these threads, so it's not good for advertisers.
As coolcryptovator said, put Merit requirements in your campaign to attract only good posters. Don't accept high ranked users who have airdropped Merits, but didn't managed to earn even 1 Merit in 10 months.
And I think it would be best to hire experienced bounty manager with good reputation.
