Title: Censorship in off-topic
Post by: notbatman on October 17, 2018, 06:22:20 AM
I'm having posts about the horizon rising to eye level in my Flat Earth thread censored by mods.

Is censorship of scientific information in line with the values heald by BCT?

Bitcointalk doesn't censor scams. That is dealt with the Default Trust system.

So if something is getting deleted it is because it breaks the rules. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

I'm dealing with an organized effort by multiple users, they're resorting to underhanded tactics to stop the spread of factual information. Petitioning mods is part of their game, don't be tools for scumbags like Vod and suchmoon.

I already have my political options in politics censored by fyinghellfish, my libertarian values must rub him the wrong way. You guys suck for putting a leftist, atheist communist in charge of moderation.

Also I really don't apreceates the canned response.

I didn't remove them, but there's one report on you that has been handled and it's for "user posting 5 times in a row", so that's probably why. Please read the rules before you start accusing people of things as many of these situations can be cleared up by just following the rules.

Vod told suchmoon to report me for posing 5 times in a row so I consolidated all 5 posts into a single amended post. Now that single post gets removed, I don't understand?

I didn't see or remove the post so I can't help you, but I don't see why the consolidated post would have been removed. You'll have to wait for either the person who reported you or the mod who removed it to provide further details.

So obviously the best thing to do is then post 5 times in a row again today: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1009045.msg46967396#msg46967396 / https://archive.is/X3Xw4#55.5%

No doubt you can complain about "censorship" again when those posts are inevitably deleted.

I was re-posting deleted content, replying to an individual user and I didn't realize I hit the arbritary limit however, I deleted one post. I hope you're  happy now you fucking gaslighting cock smoker. It was a single post that was removed not 5, that's why I'm here bitching about it.

The limit is 1. Don't post twice or more in a row within 24 hours. I haven't been reporting you because you seem to be a harmless clown but your incessant bitching about it is making me rethink that approach.

It's a busy thread with a lot of comments to respond to and points to make, who's the fucking whiny bitch here? You guys are the ones crying to the fucking mods because I responded to 3 people and made 2 comments over a 10 hour period when there's less users on line? You guys are fucking losers.

LOL.  That made me chuckle.

I'm not a mod, but to answer your question about censorship and the values of bitcointalk, no I don't think any moderator here is going to delete your posts because of the ideas therein, however wacky they are.  Theymos is all about freedom of speech, and IMO not enough posts get deleted forum-wide (but not because of political leanings).

It's the consecuposting that got you in trouble.  That's one way you can get posts deleted and get a temp ban, too.  Gleb Gamow is notorious for posting many times in a row, and he didn't even get away with it when his good reputation was intact, before he tried to sell his account, defaulted on a loan, and got negged by DT members.  In other words, consecuposting is something mods take seriously.  It's not personal and it's not censorship.

Edit:
You see that's the problem here it was a single post that got removed, not 5 consecutive ones.
Then I would ask: how often does this happen to you?  It's not uncommon for posts to get deleted, and you never get a reason.  I've had more posts deleted by mods than I can count on my fingers and toes.

Just look suchmoon's comments on how he's saying he going have the evidence I've posted deleted/censored using the multiple posts excuse, that's fucking censorship pretending to be manners. They're not looking to have spam removed, it's the proofs I've posted they're after, the posts I put hard work and research into, that's what they're after!

If your post is the last one in the thread and it has been less than 24 hours since you posted it - you should edit it instead of creating a new one. That way "fucking losers" won't have anything to report to "fucking mods".

We're helping you out man. That damning evidence you have on NASA conspiracy is going to get you killed. It's safer to have it removed.

Tell you what - I'll give you a head start. You have two weeks to consolidate your posts and stop multi-posting going forward before I start reporting your shit. I think that's fair.

I can't speak for anyone else though. I have a feeling Vod isn't gonna give you two weeks.

The thread rarely sits more 24 hours, I'm always responding; this isn't a thread that needs me to bump it. People make a few posts and I make a few responses, it's an ebb & flow not something I'm forcing.

As for the conspiracy they absolutely don't want God interfering so there's a set of rules they follow and tactics they use; the Devil needs you to to sign on the dotted line for his own safety.

Then don't bump it - don't make multiple posts in a row. It's not a complicated concept. Figure out how to use Edit and/or Insert Quote just like many sane people on this forum have done.

As I said, for your own safety keep a low profile, would you?

I fucking love you bro, you literally make me laugh with every post you make.  Your hard work and research can be proven 100% false by just looking at a picture and saying round.

Maybe follow the rules to avoid getting shit deleted, while you are definitely a special snowflake that doesn't come with you being entitled  to special treatment here on the forums, you do probably need some special mental treatment though, look into that bro, drugs are good these days man!

When a person is not able to look at a picture and identify a round object then perhaps understanding and following rules is a significantly complicated mental challenge?

Sincerly,
Your friendly neighborhood nazi censor

@suchmoon,

This isn't about multiple posts in a row, it's about you finding an angle of attack for making a point that contradicts the one you've adopted. You've noticed that I'm not always the best at following the rules to letter and that this can be exploited.

Oh go wash your pussy, follow the rules and the angle of attack won't work, fuck you're a moron.

It's quite the opposite. You've been exploiting the rules for years and I usually don't give a rat's ass about multi-posting except in some threads I subscribe to because that's just fucking annoying to have them bumped into my watchlist for no good reason. But if I know that a thread is being spammed by notorious clowns like you I can live with that.

Now however with your buddy Joe and yourself trying to make this flat-earth bullshit into a Meta issue I think it's only fair that you should start following forum rules.

I might be wrong, but I don't think moderator removed your post.

I honestly think they reached edge of the Earth and fall out in space. Words are floating somewhere between flat sun and flat moon.

<snip>

Meta is all about the forum and rules. Everyone that posts here gets their posts scrutinized.

It is not unusual that people that don't like you will use the rules in getting posts removed. It has happened to me.

If you follow the rules then they cannot use the rules to get your posts removed.

Learn the rules and techniques on how to comply with them.

EDIT and ADD your next comment to your previous post.

I often open a second window using quote, write the reply and then use edit in the other window and copy it and paste it below my previous comment.

Ultimately - If you get posts removed it is because you haven't followed the rules - regardless of who has reported you.

32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

If you post in META and don't follow the rules then you are bound to have more posts removed. Some members here dedicate their time on the forum in assisting the moderators in enforcing the rules.

It is almost guaranteed that when someone post in META complaining about their posts being removed that their habits are scrutinized more.

What a lot of bullshit, I created this thread after a single solitary post was removed. I was then advised that it was removed because it violated the multiple posts in a row rule. Now we're on the second page of this thread with multiple users telling me how I'm bad and wrong and that I violated the rules. This kind of behavior is called gaslighting.

The claim my single solitary post violates the multiple posts in a row rule is about as valid as the claim we live on a spinning ball in a vacuum

Yeah bullshit. You created this thread so you could have another place to post your flat-earth nonsense. You can lock it at any time.
