We live in a world where we are bombarded with choices and the same goes for payment methods. We currently have a veriety of different payment methods, like : Credit Cards / Debit Cards / PayPal / Payment processors /  Charge cards / Prepaid cards / Phone and mobile payments / Money orders / Online Banking ePayments (OBeP) / Cheque and Crypto currencies.

looking at the wide selection of options on the table, would you be able to motivate people to adopt Bitcoin, over any of the other options?

What sets Bitcoin apart from these other options and how would you differentiate between these payment methods and Bitcoin? What makes Bitcoin better?

It's volatile nature puts it at a huge advantage,due to the fact that the seller(merchant) could be in for far more than the actual price based on a rise in the price

But that's a two way dilemma and the actual reason why merchants accept payments through a processor(which converts to Fiat),due to the instability in the price of the bitcoin

But notwithstanding I'll encourage people to accept payments in the bitcoin firstly because of its safety,every transactions carried out would be recorded in the blockchain technology,so in case of any mishap whatsoever,the technology could serve as a reference,as this recorded information is unalterable..

It's security is another reason why I'll endorse the currency,its digital,so huge sums do not have to be carried physically to avoid theft
Every payment is made online, and in any case of unfriendly transactions a third party trusted escrow service could be added in the transaction...

It's an asset/investment:Merchants and anyone really who wishes to accept the bitcoin can look at it as a currency whose value is not stable and whose price could rise astronomically considering the demand/supply of the currency
So storing up bitcoins as a merchant or seller/dealer automatically makes you a bitcoin investor
And if patient,you could make huge profits

People still use these payment methods as a habit. It has the advantage of being easy to use, with more people using the same payment and transaction will be easier.
Bitcoin is better because it is a great value currency, in addition its trading methods have the necessary advantages compared to the remaining trading methods such as tax, decentralization, anonymity.

4 of the biggest reasons in my opinion are:
- decentralization
which means there is no need for third parties and their fees. also there wounld't be any kind of restrictions in your usage.
- privacy
you don't have to provide your identity to the vendor just to buy a small item!
- global
obvious
- no charge back
this is great for merchant protection against all the frauds that take place with traditional payment systems.

The blockchain technology is transparent and open source, meaning the buyer and seller are both in charge of the transaction and do not have to depend on any other factor to effect the payment - decentralization.
This makes daily payments very easy to monitor and record.
It's also cheap with low transaction fees.

Also it is borderless and not restricted to any nation or region.
Hence, you can buy pizza for someone living in Europe from Africa.

Ok, this is the first response that adds a lot of value to the discussion. Decentralization is only beneficial, if people know the advantages of using a decentralized network. <We should educate people, so that they can see the advantages>

Privacy only becomes an issue, when it is taken away from you and if you are aware of that.

The "No Charge Back" feature is a huge bonus for merchants, but it is also a huge bonus for scammers. <If you transfer bitcoins to a scammer, you have no way to get it back.>  ::)

What about time? if i do a bank wire , it will arrive in couple days, and not working sat and sunday. with bitcoin it takes 30 mins, and with LN will takes 5 seconds.
What about fees? if i do a bank wire from usa to china i will pay a lot. with bitcoin i will pay couple cents.
What about security? bitcoin are mine, usd/eur/punds not, absolutely not. you borrow them to bank.

As of the moment people are not using bitcoin as a mode of payment but an investment vehicle. There are only a few who truly uses bitcoin as a mode of payment.

For any given transaction, Bitcoin isn't necessarily a better "payment option." For merchants, irreversibility is great! For consumers, less so.

I think that two things make bitcoin not very user-friendly for the average Joe,who is completely new to the crypto world.
1.All those 0.001btc type of transactions and payments are confusing for people that use $5,$12 or $250 payments.
2.The 34-characters bitcoin addresses can be confusing as well.It's way simpler to just use your Paypal email.

I agree. Bitcoin can exchange with different currency easily and transact anytime when it suits you. Using bitcoin as payment makes you transfer easily without any hassle and you do not need to go outside to pay. Though it is very volatile but if it is the only money where you can depend, you can transfer it more faster.

true, but usually how this works is that when you are making a purchase you are doing it from a merchant. the merchant is usually stationary like a shop, or a known person and there is a history. for instance it can be a website like those game selling ones, or bigger companies like Valve or Microsoft. so you as the customer have easier ways of avoiding scammers by doing a little research about the merchant but the merchant accepting payments is accepting from random people. so when there is no charge back that risk is eliminated.

For me it is simple thing, Control of my own fund. I don't know why people are trying to promote these third party payment system when what Bitcoin offers is peer to peer transaction, for me as long as the transaction speed keep increasing we will likely see more adoption of this and a more secured wallet and user friendly would also help

Peoples are ready to adopt new technology so all the peoples are accepting the Bitcoin. But reality it is not a centralised platform so government should not accepting the legalisation. May be all the government are expecting some regulation in Bitcoin then it it will accepting in entire world.

In my opinion, Bitcoin is one the payment system that people can easily adapt without giving out personal information when buying and selling online unlike a credit card that have monthly and yearly fees plus an additional percentage. Also, it is anonymous and private, So people have less worry when they are using BTC.

For me its the the transaction fees, its quite cheap as compare to a regular banking transactions. I remember being paid by my employer before, but I have to wait for 3-5 business days before I can get my money. If I wanted to get it instantly, I have to pay for additional fees, so there are times that I needed the money right away so its annoying on my end. But with bitcoin, we can get the same benefits (faster transactions + fees are low) without having to pay additional cost.

People will earn more when we use btc as payments. We are all made investment while we are using btc as currencies because of its volatile price we can earn in ups while we can take the opportunity while it is in down.

As of now, the reasons I know are first it is going to be easy for us since we don't have to convert cryptocurrency money into fiat money. Second, adopting bitcoin as a payment means bitcoin is receiving support from outside and I hope it could affect the price as well.

We need a decentralized currency which got no interference from the government, we need some freedom to do currency without the government poking into our account or transaction, and Bitcoin is a really good currency to do global transaction, it's easy to used,easy to deposit and easy to withdraw

A good amount of people have no access to banking institutions and normally these banks are the ones who can help on global transactions. That for me are the factors why choose bitcoin over other payment because most payment methods require banks and mobile payment have a limited area of coverage.

For payment issue, I will go for bitcoin which is very pleasant and suitable for me and even bitcoin exchanges with different currencies easily. On the other hand, I feel trouble to use bank-issued cards for payment which is controlled by the bank. So bitcoin is decentralized and very useful for payment.

With the amount of payment options available right now, I don't think bitcoin would fare better unless it removes the problem of volatility. Mind you, it's still an excellent payment method if the right circumstances aligned with its tech. It's pretty secure for both users since there's no way a MITM attack could be devised which could potentially compromise both ends. Also, its nature of people not needing to have a bank account in order to use it is a plus, since there are still a lot of people engaging in online shopping without bank accounts. However given the fame and popularity of other payment methods listed above, bitcoin doesn't have time to shine since all of them have their own edges.

Who cares about security in this day and age where everything is spoon-fed and done with an ad?

Everybody wants to trade with Bitcoin because everyone wants to own it. Those who want to buy Bitcoin and just want to hold it until its price goes up to $ 10k back. That is why other altcoins are not selected for payment.

People want to adopt bitcoin easily because it can be an investment and tradable. In now technolgy update we can now buy goods using a bitcoin without using fiat money and its very convenient to use.

I guess if I were the owner of a company that sells services or sells items, I would love to accept bitcoin. But right now I know Bitcoin, and I know what it could do for my company, it would be an additional payment option so more customers would be able to be accommodated. If I have no idea what Bitcoin is and I heard about a proposition for it to be near it, I would likely be skeptical on what it is because I might think it's not real money. Especially if I have been on the entrepreneurial side for a long time, I wouldn't trust it easily.

The critical thing to understand is what people who really become successful is to become adaptive and become modern. Bitcoin is definitely a modern way to get paid.

Hey for me these are the biggest features 1) Decentralisation 2) Low fees super quick payments 3) No charge backs 4) Zero or no tax at all. 5) Can be used to take money in PayPal, Fiat in an instant.

Decentralisation let's assume all know what this means I feel this is the biggest and best advantage of Bitcoins.

I have loads of Usd and other foreign payments to be made from time to time, and if you're like me who used to pay Bank the high fees to trade, you'll be amazed to know I transfered some thousand dollars in Bitcoins for few cents, literally few cents.

While this is beneficial to the seller and not the buyer, but it's a shame many buyers do false charge back, and this is the need of the hour.

If your country doesn't tax Bitcoins, you don't need to pay any tax great isn't it.

As you already know you can trade it for PayPal or gift vouchers, and so much more.

for online payment methods, so far many people are comfortable with paypal. and it's difficult to adopt bitcoin with that competition. but there is a gap that can be entered when comparing paypal with bitcoin. that is, when I will withdraw. paypal takes 5 days to withdraw to the bank account, while bitcoin only takes a few minutes. I think it's a plus value for Bitcoin to be able to beat paypal.

I think people want to adopt bitcoin as a payment option because they are already tired at payment method that we have today which is very stressful and full of hassle. All we know how convenient that bitcoin can give to us. Any time or any where you can pay when you use your bitcoin as payment method as long as you have an internet connection. But this time I think this many countries are not yet ready to make it possible because bitcoin is not already in legal stage aspect many countries and I think small business stablishment are not have ability to innovate their payment system.

Honestly I am not motivated in using bitcoin as payment option. That really looks like tiny bit much when we consider all the possible ways of paying in this digital world. I mean not just the ways which you listed in OP. We do have unified payment system which can allow us to pay from fiat wallets too. This is crazy to think we would want to replace it with bitcoin which is not even able to handle stress conditions of those back in 2017 ATH.

My reason why i want bitcoin as payment is, to buy something out of my country with simple way. Because bitcoin transaction can do from country to country and we don't need to do anything like what fiat does. Even Paypal very strict when used as payment.

Base on your question above.  For me in my own opinion it's because bitcoin is so easy to use and very useful especially buying items through  online , and because bitcoin nowadays can be used as well to pay bills,  such electricity, load and etc . Wherein no need to go outside and travel just to pay those things. That's why some people now want to adopt bitcoin as a payment method.

The first and foremost reason is bitcoin is decentralized and it has less cost compare to other payment method.One important reason is it is peer to peer and global network means you can send any time anywhere in this world.

  People with Bitcoin or investors would really wanted an easy access to any transaction, since the entry of Crypto Currency Digital Transaction in the market with the million now an active or actively transacting business using Bitcoin as form of payment had open the Government eyes on the new form of Digital Crypto Currency in the market, those calling the financial expert on the issue on How to Regulate Bitcoin, the European country open the door for crypto market, i am optimistic that once the issue on Regulation was address it would be more favorable and easy to the Bitcoin holder to transact business globally. I agree with your statements because we loves to be given a lot options for payment to choose from instead of given just 1 option. As why Bitcoin should be adopted because it enable the owner itself to have ownership of their own wealth without having third parties involved.

people want to be the bitcoin become payment method because this a fastest way of transaction and no third party involve. but i think if this is a primary use for at all time I think it will create like a debit card for quick swipe during they will make purchase or traveling anywhere  and also in restaurant and hotel. that's also the thing that bitcoin make a convenient service to every people.

I have come to the understanding that most people would go for any model of payment that would make life easy .

Bitcoin is very usable for a faster transactions,those places that already have alot of bitcoin merchants might prefer to use bitcoin as a mode of payment,but the thing that bitcoin might set apart from other payment methods are the votality of cryptocurrencies.Anytime its value would rise or fall depending on the market situation.Its always a positive move when its value rise up and for other people theres a negative impact when bullish market will occur that might cause everyone to panic.

i think because processing time is low plus it is easy to use and most of it because it is unregulated.

Personally I hate all the verification or  KYC involved in those payment options to access to them requires some process which at times cumbersome and tedious to cap it all paypal has some restriction to some countries unlike bitcoin which has no restriction and usage is quite easier.

The only other reason I could think of would be because they just want to support Bitcoin. Yes.Paying through bitcoins is much more secured and more fast and efficient compared to other payment options.And you don't have to worry of your bitcoins because it has stored in a secured wallet unlike using fiat currencies which has high chances to be stolen from your own pocket.

Do you really ask this question? Bitcoin is unique payment method. Some websites, like chanel, gucci, sephora, ulta and others have restrictions when your shipping adress and paypal's billing adress doesn't match, you aren't able to order things on someone. Bitcoin has no limits, from nowhere. Also imagine you want to buy something where it's better to protect your privacy, bitcoin is a solution here. It's very practical, has low fees which can't affect your budget, you own your own wallet and money, that's amazing when you don't depend on 3rd parties.

Perhaps few of the things that i personally believe makes bitcoin better that other mode of payments is its transparency from the moment it is transferred. There will be no wondering at all if the payment is made, with the given transaction reference, one can immediately check whether the payment was processed and if it is, one simply needs to wait for the transsction to be confirmed. And we all know that this status can not be manipulated at all. It adds a sense of security and peace of mind.

Well i would want to be very candid here because this topic has been on the heart of so many because of the unfair situations that are happening in some countries especially in Ghana. There is a mobile payment system which is very convenient but it would break your heart to know that when making transactions on the mobile system you have to pay double fees! Well me, I don't want to use bitcoin as payment system. Why? Simply because it is volatile. Bitcoin's price isn't fixed then why should we use btc as payment system. I don't get the point. I heard of those coffee shops and hospitals that accept bitcoin's payment. How was that? The actual bitcoin's value as of now is the accepted? Or do we need to convert it into a tangible one?
