Title: Decentralization discourages consumerism?
Post by: FunGate on October 30, 2018, 03:44:06 PM
Consumerism is a byproduct of capitalist societies. I grew up in America, now live in Europe, and notice much less compulsiveness when it comes to buying objects.

People generally only buy what they need, unless they have above-average salaries, and even then, they aren't prone to such waste as Americans are.

That being said, how do you think the movement towards decentralization influences societies' level of consumerism?

I personally think it reduces over-spending, as people will be much more weary of centralized agendas. Hopefully it will lead to only investing in practical things that appreciate in value and serve a justifiable use.
