This year, 2018, the price of bitcoin has been consistently playing around $6000-$7000, but it is expected to rise by the end of the year. It is almost the end of the year. If the price did not move up by the end of the year, how much do you think and/or hope the price of bitcoin to change next year? Can we expect a huge bump or do we have to prepare ourselves for an even lower dip? What do you think?

You will just be more confused if you will think too much. Since no one knows what will happened just think of a strategy wherein you will take advantage of the current trend. There is basically no accurate answer to your question even how professional the analysis is.

If your purpose is just to accumulate or should I say, will just do hodl for long term, then just buy whatever the price. We can fairly say that below $10,000 is still a "low" price or you can set the range of good buying price level at $5500 to $7000.

It's just an example as you must do your assignment to determined your own definition of what range should be the so called good buying price at this trend.

We hope for the next year which is 2019 we wan to see the price of the bitcoin recover like 20k dollars more. But if that not happen even only 10k dollars still good. We need to buy more bitcoin I hope bitcoin community will become united again..

what we know is that bitcoin is now under appreciated and is lower than what it is really worth. there is always a chance to see some powerful manipulators try to test lower prices but in the end that is not going to change anything. price will eventually rise up because you can not go against the whole market forever!

I won't place too high of an expectation for 2019, I suspect it will be a better year but still not a great year, something akin to 2015. Best case scenario I think we might see the price back at the previous ATH, more feasibly I expect we might see the price in the $10,000 to $14,000 region. That would still be a very positive year.

A lot depends on the ETF at this stage. Many believe it will rejected in December but eventually accepted in February next year. Then could be a good run from there (in my opinion).

Every year there will be a change. Yes, in 2018 there has been a significant decline compared to the previous year and if you see the current conditions, the price of Bitcoin can be said to be very stagnant and not undergoing changes that are too significant. In the next year that we must have a high sense of optimism, I have seen that there is a fairly good development and this can be a reference that the price of Bitcoin will experience significant changes and we always hope for positive changes.

Yeah it's seems that it stabilizes at this point. But for the positive point of view the prices is taking slowly but  surely, hopefully it will continue to climb steadily little by little, until the start of the year 2019.

This year we cannot expect the bull run this yer i think so. Because only one month is for end of this year, till there is no significant growth in bitcoin price. So next year the bitcoin price may be $20k we can expect. The chance is very less this year to acheive the high growth this year. All are expected high growth normally at the end of the year. But this year it will not happen to achieve good growth.

This year gave us all a lesson and I think many investors have learned not to have too big expectations when Bitcoin price is involved.
For a longer period of time Bitcoin price is staying in the more or less same range without bigger fluctuations and the end of year is close so there is no much time left for some significant changes.
To my opinion such trend will continue in the begininig of the next year also. Still I hope during the next year Bitcoin might touch 10000$ again.

I do believe 40 thousand dollar is possible. The logic behind that number is just twofold :).

First of all I believe the highest bitcoin will ever go is 60 thousand dollars for now, maybe in the future if something happens with dollar than the devaluation of dollar could cause the bitcoin price to get higher but until than right now the highest it could achieve is 60 thousand dollars since that is the marketcap of stock exchanges of wall street. Now that is the first reason why it won't be anything above 60 thousand dollars, why it will be 40 thousand dollars ?

Because, so far we have always seen bitcoin break its own all time high insanely but usually stay under the stock marketcaps, which means if its going to break the all time high it should be above 20 thousand dollars but if its going to stay under stock marketcap it should be under 60 thousand dollars. Between 20 thousand and 60 thousand the even number was 40 thousand.

First, the price isn't around the 6k-7k, it's been fluctuating around the 6k-6.5-k for the past month with a small increase to 7k which didn't last too long before it went back down. Second, why is the price expected to go up at the end of the year? because it did so last year? That doesn't mean the price is supposed to surge again.

Last year there was a lot of hype and dumb money surrounding the market, this year we lack both so there's no real catalyst in the short-term that could trigger a massive btc rally.

We should lower our expectations and just be patient. The price will eventually go up, but as of now, it is very unlikely that we'll see a massive surge in the price towards the end of the year. Perhaps if the bulls trigger a btc rally, then we might test the 8k or 9k levels, but that's as high as I think the price will increase since we'll probably encounter a lot of resistance around those levels.

Of you offered me the chance to see bitcoin end 2019 in the $10,000 to $14,000 range right now I’d take that.
It would set us up nicely for the start of the next epic bull run with the next halving in 2020.

Thinking will definitely break above 10K,hoping above 20K.Data shows that BTC has reached 19K more than 20K on 17-18 December 2017,so above 10K it will definitely be achieved whether 2019 or 2020 but in my mind 2019 will definitely occur.There is also a lot of speculation from renowned experts for 2020 that he will come They said will exceed the 20K/BTC.

Surely the price of will be in the next level at first quarter of 2019 because we already waited so long so there will be some changes in the prices in 2019 for sure and it won't be lower dip since we already hit the rock botom now.But I am not having any predictions for now if the bull run begins in the next year it may results in new all time high price for bitcoin.

Bitcoin has been constantly trying to break the resistance levels above $7200, but the shorts were so strong that bulls were not able to kick off the nosedives that took place when these shorts entered the markets before. Take my advice with a pinch of salt, and with that said, I'd like to say that Bitcoin is currently going to show some moves and might even cross the older much-awaited $10k mark once again this year (don't know when but before the end of this year). I see bulls breaking the barriers once again by eating out shorts steadily, so once again there seems that the fight is now going to be heated up real hard.

Its best to just expect the worse because we never know what could happen soon, 2019 may just be worse than 2018. But i'd like to see it go up.
Bitcoin going $20k is just one of the most exciting for a cryptoholder since BTC going up  means most altcoins are also going up. When this happen I ccan finally prove myself to the people around me that investing in crypto is the  best thing I did.

Not only thinking for next year but for the coming years to come. Crypto is its in infancy stage and may continuously growing for best so we better keep hodling. There  may be some fluctuations on its price but I'm not intimidated by it 'cause I know we are on the right track.

I am tire of waiting for nothing so probably day trading would be good. However, transaction fee are higher and the possible profit for trading is low unless if you had huge money to trade. But, this will not guarantee to take home money for it could be also a loss to one who will going to day trade without accurate market price prediction of crypto  market.

This year, market movements have confused me, and I don't expect too much for this year. This year I can only be patient to hold on and I don't want to take the risk of selling it, maybe in 2019 bitcoin will have the opportunity to raise prices.

I hope you guys are also considering the fact that the BTC value can decrease more than what it is today. We have no guarantee the price will be higher, but just hopes and speculations. (It's not like the banks that tell you "Knock Knock! 0.75% Per Anum. Best deal!" you have a guarantee)

If you look into several discussion boards, people say it's expected to go up to $20k next year, but the truth is we don't know. We can speculate all we want til our hairs turn gray but there's nothing we can do about it but wait for 2019. The question is how it will affect the market if the current price stays the same?

Scaling solutions need to be working and effective by the next pump, bitcoin trx speed and costs were a near total fail last December. Trying to pump to $100k with the current system is a complete waste of time and money.

2019 ATH will be $13000. It will happen in second half or Q4 of 2019.

For what reason could it not break the stock marketcap? You also fail to account for the fact that the stock marketcap continues to grow each year, if it takes 4 years say for BTC to reach 40k then the marketcap for the stock market might be up a further 50%

Bitcoin can go up or maybe go down in the future, it's pretty hard to speculate it but from my experience it will only go up but the problem is that this year the bitcoin price was on a downfall and kept on falling pretty badly so all the expectations for the bitcoin price were sadly kept on going down and if the market made a few upward trends then also the market crashed after a day or two. So maybe bitcoin ETF can drive the price up as many traders are expecting because ETF not being accepted was also one of the main reasons behind the falling price.

I guess you are right. It would be inappropriate to assume a price range when we have no control over the market. But I agree, if it reaches between $10,000-$14,000 by 2019 then it will definitely be a good news to the market. I am not sure if it will reach 20k by then, but that price range is good, too.

Just follow the trend and see where it leads instead of trying to hope what the price of a market would be at a particular point in time, because we do not know and no matter how you tend to hope, nothing will change the future at all.

For now, we have seen the market moving in sideways and trying to at least make something out one way or the other, but whichever way, we just have to realize that the only thing we can do is to see how the market tend towards with the expected breakout and deal with it based on how far it eventually goes. If we all know exactly what a price would be at a point in time, we would all have been rich.

In 2019 I am speculating that bitcoin is going to go as high as $20,000 . The current state of the market may make bitcoin to be at the corrections state through out 2019, and it might not creating another lift in 2019 but remain in the range that the price patterns has created.  Therefore,  if bitcoin and others cryptocurrencies is going to go as high as $20,000 then at this end of the year if you have a risk capital and you also have long-term investment view? I think you can now take the risk and invest now and closes to the end of the year makes profits.

Cryptocurrencies value can't be determined and with its correction it really affect its value which we can obviously feel the stable price for a couple of months. Many of us are expecting that by next year, there could be a bull run and hopefully this will be happening in order for us to pay the price of hodling.

To be honest, i'm not expecting an amazing rise will happen next year since I based in previous years. Maybe a good run will happen again after the halving and hope to have a new ATH by that time. Although that takes too long, it's fine because it's really worth the wait beating that quite high ATH.

No one can tell what will be the price of bitcoin if the is still stable this year maybe 2020 is a great time for a great price. Its hard to predict especially now that crypto market is volatile.

We need to have several plans depending on what happens, if we see a bull run in the next year then it should reach at least the previous all time high and I could sell some of my bitcoin, but if the year is similar to the current one then my plan is to buy bitcoin and take advantage of the prices and in the unlikely case bitcoin goes down I will still take advantage of the prices, but I will be careful and try to buy at the bottom.

People here are spoiled with their short term profits, especially after what happened last year. There is no such a thing as 'it takes too long' because there isn't anything else that provides the same level of returns.

Bitcoin's price only needs a couple of months to either double or triple in value, so the only thing people need to do is to be on board before it happens. It could take a year or two, but the rewards are massive, which you seem to acknowledge as well.

Most of the people who joined last year don't know that we had years of 'boring' market activity before the bull run finally started. Let them get used to this side of the market, because these bear cycles are healthy for every market.

Obviously the exact figure can be predicted but hope to have at least the current stable growth continue next year as well. I personally appreciate current growth trend compared to Q1, and Q2. Besides the manipulation, the market should resume back and 2019 should start with $8500.

Best to hold back the coins and plan for a long term instead of a short term profit in this bear market.

I think many countries are discussing the Bitcoin legalization and some companies are adopt the Bitcoin it will reflected in future market. Because many investors are stay away in Bitcoin investment but still it maintain a constant level. This year hard to jump so next year surely it will move to forward. So 2019 is the best year in crypto hype because again it will grow well in future.

My hope is that at the end of this year the price of bitcoin can be very expensive as last year which touched $ 20k but I realize that this price movement depends on demand and depends on good news that could trigger a rise in bitcoin prices so it looks like this year it is difficult to rise because there is no good news that can trigger a rise in the price of bitcoin.

All I am just hoping for right now is to see the market give the price it wants to give, but I am more particular that there should be more level of usage in the crypto sphere which is something we need to be looking forward to when it comes to sustainable demand and not just speculated move.

Sure, we are still in the growing phase, and there is going to be further development in the long run, but the case here is that speculation will not help anyone and trying to assume what the future brings will not help either, the best thing is to have your plan, stick with it and see where it leads you.

I hope that next year the price can go to the previous ATH or higher but I only expect to see a price around 10-12k by the end of 2019. I don't think the market will go parabolic yet and many will be very afraid to invest at a price near to the previous ATH because of what happened last time the price reached that level.

We need to be patient, bitcoin is here to stay for many years, we know that bitcoins are finite and the more demand we have the higher the price, so I do not see why so many people are obsessed that the price increases immediately

If someone told you you were going to be rich in 10 years time. Would that change the next 10 years for you? For most people it wouldn't, they'd still have to struggle through those 10 years. In short to answer your question, it's no fun being rich in the future, only in the present.

Hahaha I believe some magician or palmist have encountered you and say something like this. Definitely you are right that no one can ever tell you and then that thing happens without any struggle. If you are going to get rich in coming ten years, you have to make sure every single moment must be endorsed by the success element you are thinking about. Work hard for it.

How high do I think or hope that bitcoin price will go up next year? Well, all I can say about this is that whatever will be.. will be.. at the end there's nothing we can do about it at all because the crypto market will be the one to dictate the market value of it despite the many speculations that bitcoin will begin to rise its market value on October but it's almost December now and still bitcoin is still on its lowest market value.

I wish some magician or palmist would have told me that, even then I'm not sure I'd believe them! HA! Of course even if they didn't it wouldn't change anything for me, except maybe in the year coming up to that 10th year I might be able to live a little more frivolously. It's an unrealstic example but it evidences why people are so obsessed with short-term growth and everything happening now instead of having patience for the future.

Well, we don't know yet what will happen on the price movement at this end of the year, but still, there is a lot of time since the month of December has not yet started. There are many things to have happened within the month and let's do hope that it will happen again that bitcoin price will hit at 20k dollars price in the market. As of now, if you believe in bitcoin, the best thing to do is invest as much as you can and hold for a long term.

I am hoping to see a rise by the last 2 weeks of December. But no one knows exactly what is going to happen. New year parties and resolutions may affect BTC positively. Usually business increases in last days of the year. When there will be money circulation then it will be used for crypto currency as well.   

Historically we should see a pump about now followed by a dump early next year. Assuming bakkt goes ahead we should be pushing well over 20k, probably closer to $30k

I see now that $ 6,000 is down, and there is no price increase that I found, even though it is nearing the end of the year, but calm, maybe 2019 will go up, don't panic and remain optimistic.

Well, you have some point there, but even if you are rich in the present and you want to remain rich in the future, you have to plan towards it. The truth of the matter is that, in as much as some of us would have loved the idea of having a future known, there is no way it can be known. The reality is that the future is kept from us, so we just have to make our own plans and see how the future event unfolds, that is all! How high bitcoin will go should best be left with time and trend in my opinion and the fact that people overthink things that are unimportant is one of the reasons why they always get their judgments clouded most of the time.

If you believe in so called experts, Novogratz said that he expect bitcoin to hit new highs in 2019. It`s not impossible, but I personally think that we need to wait a bit longer to see new all times high. I`m here for years and it`s true that every year brings some bull run, last year that bull run was awesome compared with years before, this year I expect the same, but situation looks pretty calm, so we will see will that be the case this year too.
It`s a good question, do we have to prepare for lower dip. It`s hard to predict anything, but if price don`t rise maybe we will go deeper in first quarter of next year. Don`t allow to be frighten if that happens, if price goes more down that will be to trick people to sell, don`t sell.

When I look at the all time graph on a linear scale (even if at this point you shouldn't do this, since you should be using logarithmic, but whatever) I need to see the graph to flatten out for a longer period. Right now is too premature for me to claim that we are going to start going up FOMO mode like on last x-mas. I would prefer that we have a boring 2019 similar to 2015 period, the last chance ever to accumulate on cheap sub-5figure coins in dollar terms, because after the next bubble everyone that doesn't accumulate will be suicidal at not buying at sub $10k prices.

I expect the next peak to dwarf the former one as usual. When you look at the bitcoin history you can start feeling these 3-year cycles and it's always the same, with noobs coming during the FOMO and noobs leaving during accumulation phase.

Then again who is to say that BAKKT doesn't blow everyone's mind this december and we go to $50k or something.

I think price would be higher than what it is now and it can even reach maybe a new all time high. It has been a long eleven months wherein people are waiting for the price to recover and maybe aim for a new ATH but then so far, it is not happening. Since market is a cycle and we are in a bear market, bull market would eventually come and I believe that a new all time high would be reach then. Maybe a $50,000 a bitcoin price would be achievable since it will be fueled by the old and new investors.

   I am always optimistic dealing this risky challenges, as it can give chance to buy more bitcoin while its price is on dip. And even its price go down, we should believe it will pump up by this year end or maybe in the near 2019. So, keep on holding for the massive profits we aim.

It's not easy to give some forecast but having in mind period of last six months and relatively quiet period on the market I don't expect some wonders.
I think the price will rise eventualy but I don't think the price will go above 10000$, at least not so soon. So, basicly there will be no huge pump as many hope.

My hope is that this bitcoin price can be very expensive again and can return all cryptocurrency prices like prices at the end of 2017 which are very expensive and can benefit many people and can make traders not feel depressed anymore.

Yep, I always like to think that rich is more of a mentality than a bank account balance anyway. That way you'll always be striving to do your best and be happy with any result. We cannot change many things in life because of external factors, but the one thing we have near full control over is ourselves and our own actions.

This is a good prediction, when I look at the forum I see nothing but some of the weirdest predictions with people predicting that bitcoin is going to reach prices that I know are impossible in that time frame, so reaching a price barely above 10000 is completely possible by the end of 2019 because I am the same as you and I do not expect a big recovery by then.

About next year no one can tell how much high it will go but it all depends on 2018 closing price, as this price only will be decided for the next year price. About stable price if it continues then i think traders wont be happy and long term investors will start to take profit as they are seeing the price is getting stable

People are greedy and want to get good results in a short space of time, but with bitcoin it will not be possible. imagine the people who bought bitcoin when the price was $1 and hold until today, it was many years that these people had to hold their bitcoins, but it was only worth having been patient. I saw some people complaining that they bought when the price was $ 18000 and they sold with losses because they believe that the price will never reach the $18000 again, but these people are making a big mistake when selling with losses

30000 USD is the price I am anticipating bitcoin will end with in the year 2019.If by June of 2019, bitcoin is able to break into 15000 to 18000 price , then it is likely to end up 30,000 by the close of 2019. The stability it has enjoyed for the past month is a sign bitcoin is ready to rebound soon.

It seems you are quite hopeful for better price range coming up in few weeks. Although you haven’t said this, but we are all hopeful and much anxious about price in last month of this year. We have been waiting for so and so long, like eleven months of continuum wait and still prices are quite not welcoming and charming. Believe in bitcoin and pray for its well being.

2019 could be a decent year but I believe it will be last months of 2019 that we need to look out for. The price will definitely go up during the 2020 halving and if I am not wrong that will be during the may month. Now if the halving will happen during the may that means during the last months of 2019 we will start to see people getting more and more bitcoins, just saving up for the inevitable rise of the price.

Right now there doesn't seem to be any reason for bitcoin to go up, not right now and not in 2019 neither but when the summer comes there will be more people into bitcoin and during the last months those people and us will start to collect as much as we can to get the chance to sell after the halving when miners will stop selling for cheap and the price will go up.

That is always a possibility but we know, and I'm sure that many people know, that even if the price of bitcoin is relatively stable at the moment we know that is not going to last forever and at some point there is going to be a new bull market, I do not know when that is going to happen but we know it is almost a certainty that it will happen at some point, that will not be a problem for companies but we know that after a bull market a bear market appears.

I think with more stability comes more credibility. A 100% increase in a year is still far better than most stocks or currencies so bitcoin would still be a good investment. A stable price also would alleviate a lot of the worries of institutions. I do agree that we'd see less traders in the space and people collecting their profits but they'd be replaced by others in due course. Bitcoin doesn't also need to be traded much if at all in order to fulfill its design as a currency not an investment vehicle.
