Title: [ANN] Lytix - PoS Maxnode Data API Crypto Platform
Post by: faetos on November 09, 2018, 01:13:35 PM
[ANN] Lytix - PoS Maxnode Data API Crypto Platform Announcement

Lytix is a 3 tiered network cryptocurrency system and at the heart of that is the MaxNode Data API server. Lytix has three important elements to the crypto ecosystem ó the staker, the masternode and the maxnode. The staking and masternode systems are quite common in the cryptocurrency ecosystems and they operate in a similar manner in the Lytix ecosystem. Where Lytix is completely different than other solutions in the marketplace is the concept of MaxNodes.

MaxNodes operate as a gateway to the world of immutable decisions and storage of critical messages that must be preserved and unchanged for an enterprise to properly function. MaxNodes all hold an API (Application Programmable Interface) that is customizable and can be unique to an organization. An enterprise can insert these decisions or data points into the blockchain encrypted and be able to have them last for all time, verified, and never changed. Once an item has entered the blockchain it can never be changed or altered in any way whatsoever. What better proof that the data is preserved, secured and completely assured of its authenticity than to store this into a blockchain that can be verified by anyone controlling the encryption keys.

The site has very little information about the project. I would like to see a full-fledged white paper, information about the team. I think that you will take into account the wish.

I totally understand. I plan on getting the whitepaper out this weekend and give you all more information about the effort. Currently the team is just myself. That will probably change if the community grows and expands.

Thank you for running that through. We should have some block explorers and whitepapers available soon. Some community folks are plugging away at it and I am as well. We'll update here and the ANN when they are available and the whitepaper is published. I do apologize for the lack of info that is normally on most announcements. Mainnet went live and was tested, so I wanted everyone to be able to jump in and mine before it got too much further down the road. If there are any other items we need to produce or you all would like to have let me know here or on the discord channel and we will add them :)

Good to know that you are not running an ICO here as you are a one-man team as of the moment. Otherwise, you will receive negative criticisms from the community, as they will think that you will just pocket the money or dump your coins. So I'm seeing here that there's no rush in things as you are not dependent to anybody or need to be pressured by investors because it's up to them, if they will mine your coin or not. Good luck!

Thank you for those kind words. I'm working on the whitepaper now and will publish as soon as it is peer reviewed and ready. I agree and wanted to release a quality product that could be useful. I'm certainly not interested in pumping and dumping, ICOs, and all that other nonsense. This forum is just flooded with that sort of activity. The team will grow over time from the community. No rush, just take time to do it right :)

I've put in for a few exchanges, but some of these require listing on one of the coinmarket sites, which also requires a listing, etc. Lots of forms and rabbit holes for sure. The goal is to use the premine money to fund coin growth, exchange fees, development help, etc. I'm working on the whitepaper now and will publish it soon. I agree that Cryptobridge is a good site. I'd love to get on there when we get our coinmarket cap site listed.

Good thing is folks are able to mine and generate coins, network is stable, and confirmations are fast and going through. I'm happy that it got off to a good start. Thank you for checking us out!

thanks for clarifying
any chance you can post a masternode guide before the whitepaper?
It must be simpler to do.

and may help the linux noobs around.
(will try to improvise something here, let's see if I suceed)

EDIT: just saw you posted it on discord
thanks

How the Lytix team can make the one different than other Quark algo coins?
During last two or three months, there are abundant new launched coins with Quark algorithm.

The real difference will be someone that supports the code and if the community takes off. Technically, if you look at the different codebases they are very similar. The main difference is that this offering doesn't come with an ICO or some other scheme to grab folks funds and then take off in the night. It's minable, supported, and will have continued development as long as I am alive and kicking :)I didn't release the coin with any particular use case in mind like Enterprise only, or IoT, or some other type of niche. The code was solid and worked well enough that I decided to release it. I'm working on a whitepaper that I'll publish that will give some more direction to the coin and where I'd like to take it. I very much appreciate your interest and opinions as we move forward.

Belated Masternode guide - http://www.lytixchain.org/guides/masternode.html It's missing some style elements from the main page, but I will clean that up later. If you pretty much know what you are doing the Quick and Dirty section is probably what you want. As the week progresses I'll fine tune the guide with graphics to make it easier for folks to create them. Thank you for your input Lucas

I am pretty sure you can use sgminer for NVidia. sssergy's pool seems to be doing well with sgminer. This is what sssergy posted in Discord about their pool:

sgminer -k quarkcoin -o stratum+tcp://137.74.57.220:3032 -u wallet -p x -I 18

Their recommended settings:

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 sgminer -k quarkcoin -o stratum+tcp://pool -u wallet -p x -w 64 -I 18 --no-submit-stale
pause

Please note all of the pools are run by the community. I don't run any. If you run into any trouble or need some help join us in Discord and we can help you get on a pool that you like.

How are you going to strategize your platform to have no inflation feature?
It's very tough to not be affected by such market movement.
This is just another altcoin from what it seems. So there's no unique edge from others.

you are correct there - also stuck at block 14944. Not looking good at this point.

I'm going to shut this down for now. Block is stuck and I am not sure how to clear it. Please mine other altcoins. Sorry for wasting your time.

This is not fair, what about miners? do you think about that once. If you are not capable to move chain then Why did you launch this coin? I think you are half knowledge person. Please don't create like this and don't waste others time.

I think developer should take care of increasing the community. To start some advertising company for promotion or competitions. All projects are now in a crisis and many are not gaining the necessary sums or are losing almost all of their value. But this is not a reason to close the project or leave it. Only the strongest will survive in this market friend.

I've decided to retool and revisit this coin. I am sorry for the way it turned out initially and am regretful that I wasted your time and rigs on this initial launch. I've pulled everyone's balance from the old chain and will airdrop those amounts when I relaunch this next year after some extensive recoding to ensure that the stuck block issue does not resurface.

You can do that or you can grab your private key and re-import it with the new wallet I will update here soon.

Grab your Lytix receiving address by going to File > Receiving addresses. Copy the address in there. Go into debug by Tools > debug console and enter "dumpprivkey lytix_address".

Save this somewhere safe and don't share it with anyone. When I release 1.60 then you can import the address in the new wallet by going back into the debug console and run "importprivkey your_lytix_private_key" Your previous balance and the bonus 2500 LYTX will be in there at start.

Either way, I will work it out with you all to make sure you get all your funds back. :)

Over 640k coins premined.
The proportional distribution of block rewards looks good, and fair for miners/ stakers/ masternode investors.
I like it.
One more thing, the period of PoW will last long, only activating the PoS after block #500k.
I will consider investing into LYTIX.

We really need some working pools, please. We have some great miners with super gear and I'd love to let them loose on the hashing.

testnet is now open to test mining on pools. Expect frequent changes. The ports are 27072 for main testnet and 27074 for rpc testnet. This is my main focus this week to solve the pool issue with the clients. i appreciate anyone's help in getting this going. I always drop LYTX for help and testing.

Miners and nodes that brought blocks 9999, 10000 and 10001 got 1000 LYTX each. We'll do the same for 15,000 :) Thanks for your support!

Not yet. We are working to get some going. What we've encountered is that we think the template that is getting sent down is off and is what is possibly causing shares to be rejected by mining pools. We are pretty close to figuring it out. I'm sorry it is taking so long to get this fixed, but it's an odd issue.

The worst case scenario will be possibly rechaining and forking. If that happens then I will credit everyone again in the new wallet with an additional hardship bonus. I hope it doesn't come to that, but our nBits are showing up as off. Wherever I make any changes to the chain with nBits then it will fork the chain.

I know it is frustrating, but you can still mine using the client for the time being. Rewards are still 15 for the miner and 15 for the masternode.

Wishing you success with Lytix. Please keep on!

However I noticed following on Lytix homepage:

The link on the website with the Site Design / Logo - LytixChain Foudation is referring to the page of Bulwark.
Maybe that is not your intention?

Further on the website there is an Market exchange rate block mentionning Data from CoinMarketCap,
Don't think Lytix is included yet on CoinmarketCap?

Thank you for finding that. I missed that in the Footer Card. I really liked Bulwark's block explorer and modified it to match Lytix. We aren't traded yet, but part of the cron jobs that get kicked off test for market price on coinmarketcap and for the time being I just left it to check for Bulwark's price. I added a notation stating that it is not the real Lytix price. I wish it were. That'd be fantastic.

Thank you for the well wishes. We have some initial bumps in the road with this coin, but I will keep on it and eventually we'll have a good product to market and bring good things to those that are involved.

Just so you know this project isn't about getting rich for me or stopping the effort and soon as we go to market. I'd never do that to folks. I hope that this coin and the foundation will be able to serve folks well and do some good in the world. We have a really smart, nice community (quiet, but when pools kick in it might get rowdy), so I encourage you all to join us on Discord - https://discord.gg/CZfZ7Ex. I'll always be responsive here, so if BCT is your mainstay then no worries. This is my home, too. :)

We just asked to be submitted at MNIFO - https://www.mnroi.info. Nice site with good info. Thanks for reaching out.

cute purple font - not sure why you have not found a block yet. Only thing that I can guess is that your hashrate may not be enough to find one. We have about 64 people mining right now, so it may take some time to find a block. We've made some good investigative progress on debugging the client's adversity to pools. It looks like there is a discrepancy in the code with the nVersions. Wanting to start zerocoin off on block 1 I inadvertently pushed it to version 4 which caused some issues. I have a clone that I am going to try a few things to see how we can get past this with the least amount of disruption as possible.I'll keep you all informed as we make progress and when the fix will be in.

I hope it will take place quickly, because of the current market situation is being improved and certainly everyone didn't want to miss the opportunity to get the benefit, the team was working hard at the moment and we can only hope the best from the team.

So, made the decision to keep the coin as it is and not cause any more churn for our coinholders. The coin will be CPU minable via the wallet until block 100,000. We'll move to Proof of Stake at that period. If you want to mine the coin please use the client downloaded from our github site. No other method will work or be supported.

All,

I just wanted to share a really innovative way a few of our coin holders have figured out how to have multiple masternodes on a single instance without needing another IP or using IPv6. I wrote this guide on discord, but wanted to share it with you as well. Our coin is based on PIVX, so any PIVX masternode coin will most likely be able to use the same methods.

To build multiple masternodes on the same host using the same binaries that are in your path

Assuming a 1 Processor VPS at vultr running Ubuntu 16.04

On the VPS create a directory to house the copies of the data folders (lytix.conf, wallet.dat, etc) - assuming you have rights to drop directories in / - /lytix can be whatever you want it to be

mkdir -p /lytix/mndir

Create subdirectories for each of the masternode hosts you want to run. We're going to assume 5 in addition to the one you probably already have running

mkdir mndir/mn1
mkdir mndir/mn2
mkdir mndir/mn3
mkdir mndir/mn4
mkdir mndir/mn5

Create a new lytix.conf in each directory that will have a different rpcport. For this example we will use port 28081 for mn1, 28082 for mn2, 28083 for mn3, 28084 for mn4, and 28085 for mn5
---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn1 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28081

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn2 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28082

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn3 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28083

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn4 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28084

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn5 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28085

I don't recommend starting them all at the same time, because they are all going to jump to about 30% system utilization downloading the chain and updating.
Just give each a little time to update. As of this writing the chain was at about 45,000 and it took a few minutes to fully retrieve the chain. Once the daemon has fully synched it will drop down
to around 4-8% system utilization.

Start each masternode by doing this:

lytixd -datadir=/lytix/mndir/mn1
lytixd -datadir=/lytix/mndir/mn2
lytixd -datadir=/lytix/mndir/mn3
lytixd -datadir=/lytix/mndir/mn4
lytixd -datadir=/lytix/mndir/mn5

On the gui client that you have the masternode.conf configured you will go through the same procedure in creating a regular masternode. Change the alias to something that you can remember:

masternode genkey

getaccountaddress mn101

send the 5000 LYTX to that address

Update the masternode.conf on the client with the same IP as the masternode, but with the alias above "mn101" and the other information like the output of genkey and the tx id that you see after
running

msaternode outputs

You will see multiple after it has confirmed, so look in the transactions and find the payment to self you just created to get the txid if you need it. You will now need to update the lytix.conf on the new masternodes with the following information: masternode=1 masternodeprivkey=private_key_from_output_of_masternode_genkey_above Restart the masternode to pick up the new config:

lytix-cli -datadir=/lytix/mndir/mn1 stop
lytixd -datadir=/lytix/mndir/mn1

Restart the gui client as well to pick up the new masternode.conf config. After 15 confirmations you can start the new masternode. Special thanks to our resident royalty LordSoylent for spelling this out for us :)

Mine with the wallet - go to Tools > Debug Console > Enter setgenerate true 1

If you are on the CLI use lytix-cli setgenerate true 1

to turn it off enter setgenerate false

If you want to use more processors change the 1 to the number of processors you want to use

All,

We are releasing version 1.7.0. This release is a MANDATORY release, because this is accelerating Proof of Stake from block 500,000 to block 100,000. To give time to coin holders and masternode operators we will enforce the release by activating spork 17 around block 90,000. Burning 1440 blocks a day that will be around Feb 19th.

On Tuesday Feb 19th at 1500 UTC I will enable spork 17 which will enforce protocol 71031 on all nodes. Nodes on 71030 or the previous releases will be dropped. Please upgrade at your earliest convenience.

Changes:

PoW to end at 100,000
Modifications to the treasury awards at 10%
ZeroCoin start at 150,000
Gitian build modifications
Block CheckPoints added
Re-added CTLV work
dnsseed changes

Release binaries are here: https://github.com/LytixChain/lytix/releases/tag/v1.7.0

Whitepaper added - https://www.lytixchain.org/lytix_whitepaper_v1_0.pdf

Add feedback - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wMw4JuvG_hh45joXK-BAknDj1Mr4tJgQCzP-WyVfyn8/edit?usp=sharing

Thank you

New release - https://github.com/LytixChain/lytix/releases/tag/v1.7.3

Please make sure you upgrade to 1.7.2 or 1.7.3 if you are on a previous version. I will enable the spork to block previous versions in about 6 days. All clients and masternodes need to be updated to ensure continued service.

Thanks

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn1 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28081

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn2 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28082

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn3 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28083

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn4 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28084

---- lytix.conf in mndir/mn5 ----

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=28085

I found a critical bug in the Proof of Stake conversion that would have only paid out 2 LYTX. So, to avoid this catastrophe I have to get everyone to update AGAIN (sorry.) All clients, masternodes, vps, anything Lyitx needs to be updated before PoS switch over in about 35 hours.

This version will up the reward from 30 to 100 LYTX (50 staker/50masternode) for 10,000 blocks. You can find the binaries here: https://github.com/LytixChain/lytix/releases/tag/v1.7.4. Mojave will be out tomorrow.

We have a lot of community contributors like Eureka, Tybibourne, Multi21 (did the new website), luke, Bitcoinminion, LordSoylent and others that have helped with development, scripting, support, etc. It's a good community effort, so I encourage you to join us on Discord. We also have a very good, positive group on board. All very helpful and generally wonderful people from all over the world. Our community is absolutely our strength.

FYI - there are some issues with zerocoin and it will be disabled and probably removed. We were due to go live with it on block 150,000, but due to another vulnerability with the protocol we are currently voting to remove it entirely from the next release. It will be votable at some point on the wallet, but if you wish to have your voice heard then please head over to discord and look for it in our proposals section.

We're going to drop ZeroCoin after maxnodes go live. It will continue to be in maintenance mode until then. Maintenance mode is essentially disabling the services. I think I am probably the only person who has some minted zLYTX, so it just impacts me.

Maxnodes are starting to come together, folks

<...>

any info on what will be the price and metrics for Maxnodes already?

The Maxnode system is unique to Lytix. Maxnodes will hold the open APIs that entities will be able to use to store data,
decisions, or any other configurable items into the blockchain. They will come in 3 tiers and cost 50,000 LYTX for Tier 1,
75,000 for Tier 2 and 100,000 for Tier 3. They will also receive 10x for tier 1, 15x for tier 2 and 20x for tier 3 of the
rewards for each block.
They will be the only points of entry to the data storage and decisioning matrix with the Lytix blockchain. Max nodes are
unique and identified by a cryptographic signature that will tie it to the clients that own and use that Max node. Max nodes
can also be private and the information stored and the decisions tracked can also be private. If the entries are deemed private
they will be signed with the cryptographic signature and encrypted before placement into the blockchain. Only key holders
that are part of that group will be able to view and decrypt that information.
Maxnodes will also receive LYTX for each storage transaction. The cost of these transactions is still in development, but the
current thought is to be 1 LYTX or a fraction of a LYTX. As maxnodes move through testing we will have a better idea of
how much it will cost to insert and retrieve data elements. Maxnodes will uniquely be able to process these transactions.
Maxnodes will not process regular transactions like Masternodes and will nto be part of their network. The maxnode
network will be the third tier in the ecosystem.
Maxnodes will also differ from Masternodes in that they will not participate in the budget voting or proposal submission
process. That will stay a Masternode function and not be a part of the maxnode system now or in the future. Reasoning
behind this is to keep the systems separate and the functions specialized for each tier.
The maxnode tiered system is still in development to decide which functionality will be housed in each tier. Some proposals
have defined the following:
TIER 1 - 50000 collateral - secure node for read-only API functionality
TIER 2 - 75000 collateral - node with atomic swap capabilities for dex functionality and partial API functionality
TIER 3 - 100000 collateral - node with atomic swap capabilities for dex functionality and full API functionality

those are what we are working with at the moment. It can certainly change through testing

quite interesting and innovative!
are there any other projects around with maxnodes?

Just got a little confused on how this wil affect the emission curve.
will the LYTX per block remain the same or there are some changes coming to it with the release of maxnodes?

I don't know of anyone out there that actually has a tiered system. It's possible someone has one, but with a new shtcoin every hour anything is possible. What I am currently testing is the reward system. I am adding this in addition to the current allocated rewards:

Code:
int64_t GetMaxnodePayment(int nHeight, int64_t blockValue, int nMaxnodeCount, bool isZPIVStake)
{
    int64_t ret = 0;

    if (Params().NetworkID() == CBaseChainParams::TESTNET) {

    if (nHeight <= 499) {
        ret = 0;

    } else if (nHeight > 499 && fMaxNodeT1) {
        ret = blockValue * 5;
    } else if (nHeight > 499 && fMaxNodeT2) {
        ret = blockValue * 7.5;
    } else if (nHeight > 499 && fMaxNodeT1) {
        ret = blockValue * 10;
    }

I will test this to see if it works. It's currently in main.cpp.

As far as emissions go, this reward system will most likely undergo a lot of change. For the regular masternode staker rewards they will remain on the same track and not change at all. For each data put and pull there will be a cost that will be awarded to the maxnode owner. I am thinking along the lines of 0.1 LYTX for a put and 0.05 LYTX for a pull. Transactions could be heavy and with a limited supply of LYTX (100 mil) enterprises may run out. This will undoubtedly be under revision as we start to get use cases together and make partners to use the system.

I really admire the hard work and humility that you put into this project.
If this one doesn't meet success, I'll cut my right hand! ... or my pinky... alright, I'll cut the top of my nails!! :)

Kidding here, but seriously you deserve the best with your project, faetos.

That would deserve a LOT more hype!

By the way, there are already tier 1 - 2 - 3 masternode systems but I haven't checked whether those ones are only a matter of collateral/reward difference, or if each tier has a very different and complementary role in the network, like what you're developing now.

Looks pretty good so far!
There is a lot of activity on the github regarding maxnodes,  I can't wait till they are active.
I heard that masternodes/staking will move to a 60/40 split at the same time as maxnodes are released.  Seems like a smart move.

I was a little sad that I found out about this project at the tail end of the pow period.  I only mined about 3k.

I'm pretty happy now that they are on Crex and I've been able to score a decent bag.
It's one of the few projects that look promising.
-low market cap
-low supply
-decent goals
-great dev
Seems like a recipe for huge gains if I've ever seen one.

Looks pretty good so far!
There is a lot of activity on the github regarding maxnodes,  I can't wait till they are active.
I heard that masternodes/staking will move to a 60/40 split at the same time as maxnodes are released.  Seems like a smart move.

Now is the time to buy! Lytix is still pretty cheap over on crex24.

It's a Pivx fork, but it's getting much further, as opposed to 90% of the others

As far as I'm concerned, I'd go 70/30 MN/PoS. Probably the best way to have more coins locked and increase scarcity.

I have been following and an investor of the Lytix project for a while now and I have to say  I have never found a more committed and transparent  dev. You will always find an open and honest response from Faetos, no bs here, and always available to answer questions and explain the progress of the project.  Lytix is an opportunity for me, and others as well, to be involved in a open and honest crypto project.  When is the last time  you could say that.  Feel free to come and see for yourself.

I have a question for the dev: I'm brand new to this tier 1-2-3 system, and as I understood that one of those tiers will be used to keep storage of important files, would you mind explaining a bit more how this will work? will every MAXnode store the whole files, or each MAXnode one part of the file? I suppose this will define the technical requirements for those MAXnodes, because for now with 20 GB of disk you can easily run 20 masternodes, but in the case of a bank or insurance storing files in the blockchain, this weight can go nuts .

I'm thinking documents such as photos, reports... maybe even videos? Insurances need to keep those kind of documents quite often. So the storage requirement could be pretty high, don't you think? And will this be "for a lifetime", or with a limited life? I'm mentioning this because the blockchain is all about durability, BUT when you store some private files that concern people (which is the case with insurances and banks), aren't you supposed to keep those files for a limited amount of time? RGPD and stuff...

Hey all

I just wanted to agree with blackstone on how active and transparent the dev faetos is. Anytime i have ever asked a question or needed any help with anything there is always a quick and timely reply back. Also the community behind the coin as well has been great at answering any questions i have as well. I have been around the discord since pow started i mined some with ease and been staking ever since the switch over to POS. Big believer this coin is going places simply because faetos works his butt off and is always active and not to mention the community has his back as well. Great Community Great Dev!!!  :) :)

RGPD and stuff...

I intended it to just be used for simple data types such as text data to keep the footprint small. The last thing I would want is a super huge chain requiring multiple TBs to hold. I haven't quite gotten to building the API for it but the thought is to have a configurable API that business or private entities can use to store decisions, audit points, links, etc. to prove that it happened and can't be changed.

Knowing full well that most companies don't want to store private things in the clear I want to enable them to encrypt their data points using their client's keys which will be housed in the Lytix client. That way they can safely store data in the clear but in encrypted form.

For a solution like this there will undoubtedly be use cases where a company will want off site or private chains to store data. This is where you all will benefit as well. If that happens and we are approached to develop a custom chain then I will transfer the proceeds to the community via a buy back program. Also, if for some reason we are bought out completely I plan on doing the same. We are kind of equal partners in this venture. :)

So, depending on some of the initial testing and development of the API we may put maxnodes on a separate chain to ensure that the regular chain doesn't get overloaded and too heavy. Performance and stability is a key differentiator of our chain and I will not introduce something to the environment that will betray those hard fought wins.

The big thing is immutable - that means never change. So, that has also put me on a path of well, what if someone uploads something like porn, or criminal activity or possibly use it to funnel private messages for terror or something awful. That would be tough for me to swallow considering how clean we've been running our community and the good folks we have in it. So, that being said, we may have to put some scrubbing feature in to prevent that. It's a tough call, but working in ops for ever I understand that things will go wrong and there needs to be an out. I'll keep that in mind as I develop the API.

That is most likely the case. I had folks jump on the coin before I could get the "special" put together which will be the addition of the 3rd tier maxnodes. These will hold the data APIs that will store data (text initially) for decisions, audit, and other immutable statements that need to be stored in an unchanging environment. This is currently in development and will hopefully be released this month. I've been working hard to get this out and running so we can have our purpose and a reason to exist and hopefully thrive.

Discussion on discord is should we change the reward behavior to the following:

70% masternode operators
30% stakers

We have currently agreed to a 60/40 split, but the question is now open.

Thanks faetos for this detailed reply!

Tippytoes : yeah for now we're all super early adopters, betting on faetos capacity and will, and until now he's proven himself to be above all expectations (he can even be a bit too generous, but I guess after being burnt a few times he's learned the 'never trust him anyone but yourself' kind of lesson)

If you've ever seen so much work done by one man (check the discord, the code progress is all published real time!), feel free to keep me posted, I'm in active search of such gems

https://discord.gg/5UejzWf

I won't say 'buy it while it's cheap' but.... By the ways the hold volume is getting bigger, sell volume getting thinner... Scarcity is growing, people are more and more keeping their coins instead of trying to sell them at any price. That's a sign

I think that a 70/30 split wouldn't be a bad idea, but at the same time it might also be wise to raise the amount needed for a masternode maybe to 7000 or 10000 or more. I think anything that can encourage running no more than two masternodes per vps would also be a good idea.

just some fyi on where I am in this process of getting maxnodes going:

1. Main coding for maxnodes - complete
2. GUI work for maxnodes - complete
3. Test activation and proper working of maxnodes - we are here
4. API work on maxnodes for data API
5. Test chain and determine if a side chain is approrpiate
6. Research encrypting data insertions by default
7. Testing new client for encryption
8. Spork enforcement of maxnodes to cut over on a certain block/date
9. Test spork
10. Release client and maxnodes
Document and market

Being handled by a good rank user to which all of us know that an account is really precious and it is hard if it gets a red trust by posting a scam. project. Most.of the project in this sections were being brought by copper or jr..member and I do not like think that way on how a good project wi lost its credibilty due to the low rank users bringing the project.

yes, there are so many 1 commit wonders out there that want to solve world hunger with an ICO and a PIVX clone. It's just bananas what folks throw their money to. Cool thing about our effort is that all of our masternode operators earned their masternodes and our maxnodes owners will be the same. Our community is really good and full of high quality folks. We've been under the radar a bit because we're small and want to deliver some value before we do promotions and drop a lot of hot air without a product. Thank you for recognizing us. It's validation and fuel to make us want to work harder.

70/30 or collateral increase wouldn't change the maximum amount of masternodes per VPS. This would only be changed by the requirements of those masternodes (total number of transactions in the network or any kind of transaction involving those masternodes - maxnodes), depending on the type of resources.

I'd still prefer to keep 60/40 as masternode / stake

it'll need a new wallet, right?

have you considered listing on a service like Gin or GTM for easy masternode setup faetos?
this would definitely be interesting for LYTX!

There are votes going on, so if you have masternodes you can participate, that's the way it works, the community can have a voice in almost every decision concerning this project!

I don't know about the wallet update, though...but if faetos plans to release this rewards split update + maxnodes at the same time, then a wallet update will definitely be required.

Thank you for the suggestion concerning GIN and GTM, do they have fees to list new coins/projects?

Besides, there is already IhostMN and crypos.io for masternodes hosting. Those ones work just fine :)

LYTX has been added to Delta Portfolio App!

I'm still working on the activation for maxnodes. It is a tough issue that is a bit hard to troubleshoot, but I am making some daily progress in figuring it out. That's the delay on maxnodes for the moment.

We are voting on logos and different websites if you want. I just want to give you all the option to vote on something different if you'd like the face and logo to change.

If there are any business partners or services that show up I'd like them to propose their services in General. I get DMs all the time for this and would like you all to have a say in what you would like to do. We're a community and make decisions that way. I'll do the coding and cover some costs, but want to make sure the project goes in a direction that you are happy with. Don't be shy to speak up. If you have an idea, but are worried about sharing it then let me know. Any coinholder can DM me at any time. I'm not online all the time, but will certainly be there for you if you need me.

We are now a legal entity in Texas (where I am from) and can operate under the business name of Lytix Chain Foundation. A first step to an official business that gets us ready for big exchanges and eventual business partnerships if we can find some Enterprise suitors to use our solution.

I'll enable the new features via sporks, so when maxnodes are ready we will pick a date for that and for the rewards change. I will probably put in some more proposals to see a few options like 60/40 (which is already approved), or 70/30.
Just as an additional note zerocoin is pulled out of Lytix in the current source tree on github. Also, good news if you like compiling your client via source. You can do so now and be able to connect and update your client. Please note - if you are a binary user (1.7.4 or 1.7.5) you do not need to update anything. I'll announce in BIG BOLD TYPE when v2.0 is released. It will be a BIG DEAL, because maxnodes will finally be done. I originally thought that it'd be done at the end of April, but some of the difficulties I've had in activation of a maxnode has slowed development down a little. I will get past this and move on with the other pieces. So, we're still moving forward and still working. Thanks for hanging in there and being patient. I know crypto is a get rich yesterday thing, but we're just not that kind of outfit. We're going to have a usable product to sell and we'll be proud of it.

Right now 60/40 masternode / staker is going forward. I'll put a proposal forward in the wallet to see which gets the most votes. I am pretty sure nearly every coinholder has a masternode or has a hosted node. I'm pretty sure it will lean towards a 70/30, but if you are a staker only please let me know here. I check this every day as well.

We are going to change the logo for Lytix. We have voting going on in Discord, Twitter and Telegram. Here are the two logos that have the most votes:

Lytix is a little project but with great community and community driven, which reminds me of bitcoin old days.
There's no ICO money, masternode pre-sales or super-duper partnerships ... and is not aiming to provide impossible achievements only on whitepapers.
Yes, it's a PIVX fork but why reinventing the wheel if the base code is available?
Many projects derived from the original bitcoin code and they are doing quite well actualy.
The development of this project is going forward and soon the coin purpose will became reality, with maxnodes.

Maxnodes are like super nodes and are used only for managing the transactions on the 2nd layer network and will hold the open APIs that entities will be able to use to store data, decisions, or any other configurable items into the blockchain.

Maxnodes infrastructure will open the door for Enterprises to use the blockchain as an immutable storage layer for decisions, data, or whatever they desire to save costs and control the security of the stored data with the private key they hold.

A possible purpose:
a solution for banks to store GDPR data which can be stored off-chain.

Storage is more secure and having cheap storage transactions, instead of paying alot more for similar solutions (cloud data storage) is a big selling point for this project.

Hope to see more progress next month from faetos, the main developer of the project, when we can see some tangible results and maxnode test network up, so we can bend up the maxnodes for other possible solutions.

Didn't this service have some issues a few months back? I heard that a lot of the accounts were hacked, but I never found out how or why it happened? We have 2 really good services we've already partnered with - ihostmn.com and crypos.io.

I had tried to work with the service you mention months ago, but never got anywhere with the admins.

Hi!

The number of masternodes is steadily growing... price stabilizing around 50 sats...

faetos making progress every day on the maxnodes

Everything looks pretty nice! :)

And this is still under the radar... when a bigger investor spots this project, lots of people will regret not getting in before

This is a gem. When the next update with maxnodes comes, the price have to go up and people will have to pay a lot more for it.
There arent even 2 maxnodes available on Crex24 atm, so anyone who wants one should start to accumulate very soon.
Timing is everything in crypto, and it seems now we are on the brink of a new epic bullrun. Will alts follow bitcoin? These good ones will, cause publicity and fomo comes and people look deeper this time to not get rekt like 2018

When the usecase is developed and set in motion, it's just a matter of time before the real adoption starts.

This dev seems to know what he is doing, and people look at that github, it's on fire!

if this doesn't solve the issue, delete all blocks and resync from scratch

thanks, will try.
do we have an updated bootstrap for faster sync?

and is there a script now for easy masternode update?

https://github.com/LytixChain/lytix/releases/tag/v1.7.5b

bootstrap.dat has the absolute latest blocks. The easiest way to upgrade a masternode (guessing it is Linux):

lytix-cli stop
wget https://github.com/LytixChain/lytix/releases/download/v1.7.5b/lytix-1.7.5-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz
tar zxvf lytix-1.7.5-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz
cd lytix-1.7.5
sudo cp -r * /usr/local
lytixd

I'm guessing you already have daemon=1 listed in your lytix.conf

I ended up deleting the block and 1.7.4 and syncinc from scratch and it got back working.
will update on next mandatory.

but thank you so much for the easy setup list!

yup, syncing from scratch doesn't take too long yet...

I'm working on the last lines of an easy-quick masternodes setup&manager&update script, will keep you posted when I'm done!
For now it's just masternode setup&management but you still can give it a try:

https://github.com/tybiboune/Lytix/

Please bear in mind that you'll need to have a few ipv6 ips setup on your host if you want to host multiple MN on the same ubuntu server.

I'm trying to figure out a way to do it from the script, but many hosts have very different configs so the required files are not always in the same place, and the ipv6 config isn't always written the same way either...

Congratulations, another big achievement from a very respected and devoted Dev!

The word is out, new daily discord members is increasing... all this hard work is showing first rewards.

In the middle of a gazillion useless crypto projects, I feel proud to be a part of this one.

Maxnodes verified to be on a different payment mechanism is working. We will have a mix of stakers + masternodes splitting rewards and maxnodes on their own super track. Maybe now a good time to grab some Lytix. Too bad less than 120,000 are available to sell on Crex24. Ya'll are going to miss out.

so far the community has decided to set the rewards mix as the following:

Common reward = 30 LYTX

70% Masternodes = 21 LYTX
25% Stakers = 5.5 LYTX
5% Dev fund = 1.5 LYTX

Maxnodes will be on their own payment schedule and as yet to be determined per level. It may be 1-5x the common reward, but we're debating that as well to not run out of coins in a very short time.

We're also debating reducing the reward as well. The discussion on discord is good, so please join us there for more in depth discussion.

There is no hard date set yet, because I am still working on making sure that masternodes, stakers and maxnodes all get paid with every block. I also have to work on the API for data insertion and retrieval as well as encrypting that data. I really see this coming together hopefully by the end of next month if all goes well.

thanks, I get complaints that I am not doing enough in that space. I do update on twitter as well with the latest advancements on maxnodes, but some folks would prefer I take selfies and stuff. I think development is a better use of my time and yours :)

just some fyi on where I am in this process of getting maxnodes going:

1. Main coding for maxnodes - complete
2. GUI work for maxnodes - complete
3. Test activation and proper working of maxnodes - complete
4. API work on maxnodes for data API - we are here
5. Test chain and determine if a side chain is appropriate
6. Research encrypting data insertions by default
7. Testing new client for encryption
8. Spork enforcement of maxnodes to cut over on a certain block/date
9. Test spork
10. Release client and maxnodes
Document and market

The real heavy lifting is done. We're debating how all the rewards are going to work out now with masternodes, maxnodes, and stakers on Discord. I'd love for you to join us there in the #rewards_n_stuff channel: https://discord.gg/BDDgUqG (https://discord.gg/BDDgUqG)

No, it';s not rumor. It is a business goal of ours. I wanted to get maxnodes completed and launched and then focus on the business parts required for a bittrex listing. The requirements are a bit steep, but doable. Once I get the LLC filed, I'll need to get legal memos in the US and in Malta certifying we're not a security. Only thing holding me back is just money to get it done. Once I get the LLC filed then I'll get the process started for the commercial account and then move on to listing. I'd expect this will take 3-6 weeks, but I am not sure.

I'm probably going to release v2.0 next week. Maxnodes will be live by Friday. I have some clean up to do to get it ready and push binarires out.
API work is still ongoing. I will push out another release when that is complete and the only folks that need to upgrade will be maxnode owners and folks that want to use the API in the client
it will also have the changes in that you all have voted for and have passed

+ the discord community is growing nicely (and in a natural way!)

All signs of good health for an amazing project

They keep them open as long as you leave them ;) Unless they "reboot" their system (which happens now and then... very disturbing, when you see the website go offline, then online again, and all the order books are empty ;) then you see some interesting trades being made, last time it happened one trader sold 1 Lytx for 0.9 BTC...! That's one expensive LYTX! :D )
