Title: IS BITCOIN CASH DEAD ?
Post by: MOBbrothers on November 19, 2018, 11:22:03 AM
Last week was another Night mare in the history of the crypto currency world. the event of the Bitcoin cash forking took  a huge swipe on the crypto market leading to a bizarre lost of over 50 billions Usd in the Market.  Bitcoin dropped below 6000usd trademark. the last time it hit such price was in August.  After the Forking, there has been a tug of War between the New born babies. BTC CASH ABC and BTC CASH SV.
So i asked what is the likely faith and future of their father. Bitcoin Cash.?

It was my understanding that bitcoin cash (BCH) is no more, there is now BCH ABC and BCH SV that have been issues 1:1 in replacement of any BCH holdings. Perhaps I am mistaken in this?

You are correct. As you can see from coinmarketcap, most exchanges have already switched over to listing BCHSV (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash-sv/#charts) and BCHABC (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash-abc/#charts).

With BCHSV trading at 0.016BTC, and BCHABC trading at 0.044BTC, for a combined price of 0.06BTC per forked BCH, it means this fork has lost BCH holders about 25-30% of their money, as BCH was trading at around 0.08-0.085BTC prior to the fork.

At least one of these forks, probably SV, is going to rapidly fail. ABC might stick around for a while, but all it will manage to do is continue the slow and prolonged death (with the odd pump by the scammer Ver) that BCH was undergoing long before this fork was even announced. If you still holding any of these coins, it's time to dump them before they lose even more value.

It was always dead. It never really existed at all. There are rich people who keep on mining their own coins and buying and selling their own coins because they believe their coins will worth something one day but in reality the coins are worthless.

Whenever you bought bitcoin cash back in the day you bought it with the knowledge that Roger Ver and Jihan Wu will not let it die like other coins and that is why you actually spent money on it, and whenever you sold your bitcoin cash there was a big chance one of those guys actually bought it. The buyer market of bitcoin cash is consisting of very few number of people and than bitcoin.com dudes.

Now, Craig is in play and they are fighting with each other and spending so much money but believe me no matter who wins the coin will not worth anything and will slowly die one day.

...

So would you refer to this as a soft fork or a hard fork?
It seems like Bitcoin Cash effectively split right in the middle. Would BCHSV be referred to as the oarent Currency?

In reply to the OP, the situation sure caused a sea of re all over the market. But there were some few gains and such coins am sure would thrive in the current trend as most would be switching over to the green side.

I read somewhere in  twitter that Bitcoincash is dead after bringing out BCH ABC and BCH SV. But on a closer look, I found out that BCH is still on a good price while BCH ABC is higher than BCA SV. There will still be more fight for the market price for all coins both BCH ABC and BCH SV will  try to struggle with bitcoin in the market. Eventually, bitcoin will find its level in the next 2 weeks.

hardfork usually has a new resolution in it, but what happened to the last hardfork is very different from the hardfork goal itself, in my opinion this is a worst split, not just breaking coin, however, the cryptomania is also divided into several camps and this is problem in the future of crypto

Its fork in all of our asses! Those fckers are mining their abc and sv with 500k$ loss daily! And where do you think that money for electricity comes? From selling their bitcoins and crashing all fcking market!

Rightfully so. It's really shameful for them as they tarnished the market pretty well. But I saw in the news that technology market cap in general is suffering a beating in the traditional market.

The fundamentals of bitcoin have not changed. If you believed bitcoin is the future 2 weeks ago, you should still believe it now, regardless of market movements or current price.

If people want to sell their bitcoin to fund mining a shitcoin forked from a shitcoin, then that is their decision. They will regret it in the future. Sooner or later both these new chains will die, same as BCH was dying before this fork. If the market is stressing you out too mush, either ignore it for a month or two or switch to a stablecoin of your choice.

In my own opinion it is almost there. Developer lack of unity causes nch to split into 2 bch and and bchsv which for me an indication of losing confidence by investor currently BCH fall almost -40% in just a day causing holder to cutloss or panic.

BCH doesn't exist anymore and I think only one will prevail out of BCH ABC and BCH SV. Right now it looks like ABC will be the winner but a lot could change, given the current market conditions we might see a scenario in which neither of them will survive.

My idea has always been this: most of the coins, in the altcoins category to be exact, even the fork of Bitcoin which is Bitcoin Cash, have been in existence and in survival mode from the very beginning simply because of the people behind them and not because of the coin itself. Bitcoin Cash, right from the get-go, became popular only because the names Roger Ver and Jihan Wu are very closely associated with it. Without these influential names, Bitcoin Cash was a trash from its inception.

BCH will soon be out of the market as Bitcoin has been. Although it was not a bad altcoin, it made an unreasonable decision that greatly affected its future. At present its price has dropped the most at 38.77% and it is slowly dying away.

So it has changed again now on coinmarketcap. Because the majority of exchanges are using BCH to refer to BCHABC, CMC have decided to merge their BCH and BCHABC listings in to one, and use the original BCH ticker for it. As you can see from its markets page (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets), this chain is currently being traded as either BCH, BCHABC, or BAB.

BCHSV is remaining on its own separate ticket, and as you can see here (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash-sv/#markets), is being traded as either BCHSV or BSV.

In short, the entire thing is still a complete mess.

One of the forks will win in this battle, he will become Bitcon Cash. So I don’t think that it is possible to call Bitcoin cash dead, the definition is more suitable - temporarily ill :)
I hope that this circus (perhaps even staged) with bitcoin cash will end soon and calm will reign in the crypto market :)

I don't really know why bitcoin cash got forked into another coins ???
I guess it's been complicated a bit and not everyone can understand differences between BCHABC and BCHSV , Any way it seems like it wasn't really a good idea to forking them coz it is going down deeply!

BCH fork is not a real reason for current bleeding so we should searching some other true statement. Because many peoples are said it is affected in hardfork and whales selling bit no one is clearly explain the right information.I expect it will going to moon automatically but we should wait for one or two months.

We can only write, read and guess what will happen. How many people have so many opinions. What is happening in the market is a natural market process, which was to be expected, because whales do not earn in the standing market. That began the manipulation that the whales will give a profit. And we will pick up the crumbs.

I think I actually made a good decision by selling at above $600 during the bch pump, I have always known that forked coin often drop in value. Had almost regretted selling when I saw the both values of forked coins but knowing it is just the split of bch and bch is lost already, I got happy again.

I do not think if it is already dead coin because all coins are falling down due to decreasing of bitcoin value, like what i said before if you see an income at the current value much better to sell it and save for another pump for security of our money.

Not only BCH hardfork created a mess, it is also responsible for this downfall of bitcoin price and volume. Things become very uncertain when roger ver claimed to moved all hash power to BCH, and not the bitcoins.

From the beginning bch is only tools to make profit to some group of people, there are no big promises about bch, and yes it got worse after it being forked, the people who saved bch as asset now is frustrated, the value of the bch is drop and some exchanges delist the coin, and soon both of the forking coins will lose the value and turn into dead coins

since the hardfork BCH and the hash wars, which until now has caused the market to crash, there is no good impact, all the major coins that we know are affected. even the two BCHs themselves, for the future even if crypto can survive in this situation, it will also be very lucky but still, the percentage of loss is greater than we expected before

Yes, its a complete messed that really affected the rest of the crypto sphere, just a week ago everything was perfect, as the price of Bitcoin seems to be stable at the $6k-$6500 range and those bad actors started to act as if they're really have something to prove and now we are seeing the negative effects of those greedy person.

As fas as the OP question, I personally don't hold BCH as I immediately dump it and just like any altcoins they will simply die or at least don't have the support of the community.

I do not know what is going on with bitcoin cash since I am not a fan of that fork. I preferably choose to invest in bitcoin than BCH because most of the time it is hype. However, it is sad to say that one of the altcoins in cryptocurrency is falling down. Maybe, it is just a correction for all the pump it made for the last months.

The breakdown of the BCH and its extraordinary impact on crypto, the BCH, which will be two camps that will sink and will no longer have value, will soon disappear. This competition is very alarming and it turns out that it cannot be realized properly, behold there will be a coin that will stay in its position and remain strong.

I think the same story that happened to Bitcoin before is also happening with BitcoinCash. As an ordinary guy, I really don't fathom that much why is this forking has to take place and why it has to be chaotic and divisive resulting into loss of value affecting many coin holders. Does it have to take place to make the cryptocurrency survive? Actually, this is just one of the many things I really don't like with this industry and no wonder why many people are getting turned off already and leaving the whole industry for good. Just my opinion.

It seems that there is no advantage when holding a BCH coin, even though initially it was hardfork and able to outwit crypto prices to date, it would be better to throw it away so as not to experience high losses. I am sure that other altcoins will have more potential and good in the future.

If the BCH team is committed to developing their forked currency (BCHABC.BCHSV), then the BCH may continue to decline, but it will not die! It will only become very cheap!

I think the dump of the cryptocurrency market recently is due to the hard fork of BCH, and BCH is split into BCHABC and BCHSV. This makes the price of the market is dropped, and now the market cap is 150 billion dollars. I think the market cannot recover in 2018.

It is true that one of the causes of the fall in all prices in the market was due to the hardfork BCH and it has had a huge impact up to now, it is likely that BCH will die and be replaced by BCHABC and BCHSV, we will look forward.

It's dead. A lot of people are aware right now if the bitcoin cash controlled by some greedy politicians. I hope these speculators will try to move their money to the another cyrpto which give a better future than shit fork coin like BCH. in fact that was destroying anything. BCH is the worst coin in the history of crypto.

rumors of a decline that occurred a few days ago were caused by bch doing a hardfock, and it didn't succeed in attracting investors. so a war is carried out to reduce the price of bitcoin. yes this is like what I read in another thread.
I think this is a game to suppress our more panic, then they buy it with a very large amount.

I think the original BCH was completely destroyed by the fork last week. As can be seen from the graph, there are currently only Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin SV.

The current market slump, I think has also been triggered by the fork.

BCH doesn't exist anymore and I think only one will prevail out of BCH ABC and BCH SV. Right now it looks like ABC will be the winner but a lot could change, given the current market conditions we might see a scenario in which neither of them will survive.

since the hardfork BCH and the hash wars, which until now has caused the market to crash, there is no good impact, all the major coins that we know are affected. even the two BCHs themselves, for the future even if crypto can survive in this situation, it will also be very lucky but still, the percentage of loss is greater than we expected before

That's because CSW doesn't care about anything but his perception of himself. He believes that pushing SV at all costs is the solution. SV is failing currently in the hash war. It doesn't even seem in his case that the end will justify the means.

Bitcoin Cash.?

rumors of a decline that occurred a few days ago were caused by bch doing a hardfock, and it didn't succeed in attracting investors. so a war is carried out to reduce the price of bitcoin. yes this is like what I read in another thread.
I think this is a game to suppress our more panic, then they buy it with a very large amount.

Both ABC and SV are hemorrhaging with losses due to the cost of mining both (inefficient) chains. It is being funded by Crypto selloffs from all major Cryptos.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and others have all seen big drops in value.

https://i.imgur.com/m4BrudH.png

Bitcoin is also doing a correction from when the market was in full mania and the price was dictated by greed and speculation.
The adjustment allows for the lower cost of mining (some of the hashrate has moved to mining ABC  & SV).

This war will wipe out large market caps and will reduce the wealth of the people involved in this "war". I believe that bitcoin hasn't seen it's lowest point yet. In the long term I do believe that bitcoin will win and recover from this. It still has the same utility and support and will provide an opportunity for people with long term vision to buy into bitcoin at a lower price level. (Allowing for good future increases)

I think ABC will be a neutered version of BCash and SV will just be another shitcoin that has its own toxic community and just won't die. (I predict SV will have a sucessfull 51% double spend attack by the end of 2019).

Craig Wright might be planning to do this for years - but the people that are financing this bloodbath will eventually come to their senses and concentrate on making money rather than throwing it away.

Once the markets really get back to normal with seperate ABC and SV markets the dumping of those coins will start.

Interesting times - usually the market peaks around Christmas.

Maybe a few a few weeks (months), the BCH will have more support and the price will rise. So the mining is not unprofitable. So it is more difficult to attack it.

Is this accurate ?
if it is, does not that mean they are mining something is 'worthless' right now ? what is their goal mining such a coin with 50% loss in term of profit or investment ?
and even SV unprofitability is way too high at 352% ?
it does not make any sense at all right now, or is this kind of tactic to wipe their competitor ? pushing the price down, pressuring the price and waiting for SV's supporter to stop mining it and ABC becomes the next BCH ?

I agree with you. This is interesting point of view. When those fckers burn their money sponsoring their shitcoins, they will have much less influence on bitcoin price and whole market. So good thing in all of this that btc is going to be slightly more decentralised.

I do not think it will stay like this forever I think exchanges will start to list Bitcoin Cash ABC as " BCH" like they used to and liste bitcoin cash satoshis vision will stay as BCHSV instead. They listed them like this because there was no knowledge of who won but looking at Craig right now we can see that he realized he lost and now focusing on other stuff.

He already sold most of his coins and sits on top of a big cash pile so he decided he will focus on bringing bitcoin blockchain to companies now like a software company and that way he can make a lot of money but I doubt which crazy company would work with him. Now that ABC side won the war I think BCHABC will change into BCH only and that way bitcoin cash will continue existing. It just took sometime to decide which side won. It is still not decided %100 so it may take sometime but it will go back to how it used to be.

https://www.thestar.com.my/tech/tech-news/2018/11/22/as-bitcoin-prices-fall-mining-cryptocurrencies-is-no-longer-profitable-for-many/

Quote
Suanlitou, a Hong Kong-based mining platform that allows users to mine Bitcoin on a contract basis, said in a statement on Monday that it has suspended all contracts involving Bitmain’s Antminer T9, which was the most in-demand rig in the market. Suanlitou said it was unable to cover management and electricity fees incurred by use of those machines for a 10-day period from November 7.

Quote
Jack Liao, who runs Shenzhen-based Bitcoin mining firm Lightning Asic said he expected the bear market for cryptocurrencies to stretch till next year, with Bitcoin prices sinking to as low as US$2,000 (RM8,400). “Many people won’t survive,” he said.

I tend to agree. With Tether artificially inflating the bitcoin price its price rise was based on FOMO, greed and mania. I believe that the actual current value lies around $3000 but that the market may over correct (dropping the price lower) before it starts to climb again. (Something I said already around February)

https://i.imgur.com/uxJl12b.png

Dropping below $3000 is concerning since a lot of large scale mining operations may decide to turn off miners. This would lower the difficulty and lower the cost of mining.

Some of the shitcoins won't survive and the cull will be healthy for the market. I'd like to see some of the promising newcomers produce some real commerce applications and innovation during that time. The results will help the recovery. Low cost bitcoin will encourage some people to ditch their alts for bitcoin and also encourage newcomers into the market.

Bitcoin benefits from quality altcoins since most altcoins are traded on the bitcoin base market.

A lower priced more stable bitcoin which looks like it will have promising future increases will encourage further adoption in commerce.

He did everything just to beat bitcoin and take over the top position, but all he got is failure so for me,bitcoin cash is not dying but this will surely go to the lowest position it may ever had,the fork is failure and he has nothing to do to make this copycat coin grow again like what this had mid of this year

It was my understanding that bitcoin cash (BCH) is no more, there is now BCH ABC and BCH SV that have been issues 1:1 in replacement of any BCH holdings. Perhaps I am mistaken in this?

they still didn't decide which BCH is BCH :D I am surprised to see such kind of blockchain civil war.

Well neither are BCH anymore really are they. They shouldn't try to piggy back of their former success because they chose this path. Go out on their own now as BCHSV and BCH ABC and let's see who wins the war.

This is also a risk that the real Satoshi understood. That the crypto has to be free from personalities.

SV is Craig Wright and ABC is Roger Ver.

It is near impossible to strip away the personalities from the Crypto because they have such polarizing personalities.

Neither of them appeal to me. But if I had to choose I'd prefer Ver over Wright.

I doubt that SV will amount to anything over time. But the issues caused will be an interesting learning experience.

Unfortunately it seems like that this project is going down. And I am happy that I didn't listen advices and didn't invest in it when there was a total rush
Now the price of this coin is falling, but in the long run I think it will grow again. no need to draw conclusions in advance. have to wait. I also did not invest in BCH when many said that it was a great coin. its capitalization has fallen significantly, but most likely it will rise when the market begins to recover in 2019

I think the original BCH was completely destroyed by the fork last week. As can be seen from the graph, there are currently only Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin SV.

most likely it is, I agree with you. We will be watching this situation further. I hope BCH will restore its position

Merchants are dropping BHC support. At least for the time being until things crystallize. It could even happen that that last forever.

Your thinking is grave. I think BCH is sometimes is potential crypto. But after the hard fork, be split into BCHABC and BCHSV, the potential of BCH is go down. I think in the next time, the volume of BCH will decrease because of the demand of investors in 2 new coins.

It appears that there is no favorable position when holding a BCH coin, despite the fact that at first it was hardfork and ready to outmaneuver crypto costs to date, it is smarter to discard it so as not to encounter high misfortunes. I am certain that different altcoins will have more potential and great later on.

Technically BCH is now BCH ABC but the BCH SV people will deny that and have not conceded yet.

BCH has split into 2 (forked) and the dominant chain is BCH while the other is considered a "forked alt". (BCH ABC is the dominant chain)

Symilar to when Bitcoin split into Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Cash.

Bitcoin core was the dominant chain and is referred to as "bitcoin" while bitcoin cash became a "forked alt" (which is heavily disputed by the Bitcoin Cash zealots who still claim it to be the "real bitcoin")

BCH is still unsafe to split into BCH ABC and BCH SV because neither chain has implemented replay protection and Craig Wright has made several threats about "losing both coins if you split it". With the potential 51% attacks looming, chain re-organisations (already happened on SV) and transaction spam attacks and Ddos attacks on the coin networks - BCH is rapidly losing the practical uses it had. Vendor and Exchange support is dropping. The bleeding has extended to other cryptos.

Often there is no love lost between competing cryptos and their communities but I believe this "war" will have a long lasting effect on both SV as well as ABC. I think it will have a detrimental effect on the future of BCH. Any gains of popularity (low Tx fee & faster Tx) will be lost. Investors have long memories and the market is full of competing products that conduct themselves with more dignity.

Prior to the hash power war between Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Cash SV, a camp led by CoinGeek, Calvin Ayre, and Craig Steven Wright, the price of BCH plunged from $640 to around $450.

As I predicted:

Craig Wright might be planning to do this for years - but the people that are financing this bloodbath will eventually come to their senses and concentrate on making money rather than throwing it away.

Once the markets really get back to normal with seperate ABC and SV markets the dumping of those coins will start.

I don't think so, seeing the recent bitcoin cash movement on CMC, the price of BCH is back to normal like never before, which has dropped by up to 20%. And today BCH has increased up to 4%, this is pointed out there are still many investors who hope that BCH will always be there.

Of course Bcash is dead.

And the funny thing is how it was killed by its 2 creators themselves, fighting like two maniacs trying to show to the world who has the biggest one, and ready to burn their fortune in the process.

But the virtue of this fork was to show the real face of Bcash: a completely centralized cryptocurrency, fully controlled and governed by a couple of guys only motivated by greed, and mined by their partners in crime, ready to lose money to keep control over the network. And ”control” is not vain word here: in both BCH, one (!) or two miners controls more than 56% of their respective networks!

https://s.put.re/tQENMNF.jpg
Fascinating. (https://cash.coin.dance (https://cash.coin.dance))

From the start, Bcash what the opposite of what we need, and the opposite of what Bitcoin is and should be.

There is only one Bitcoin.

Might sooner or later BCH will meet a decline in price and its position in the coinmarketcap will decline as well. The Fork will usually leave some side effects so that each investor assumes that the results of the coin fork will have greater potential, not to mention the BCH fork will produce 2 new coins where the BCH fork problems caused a deep decline in prices some time ago. I just experienced this, when a coin decides to hardfork and has a negative effect on the cryptocurrency market, you can see a drastic decline in prices some time ago.

The truth is that Bitcoin Cash is just a fork of Bitcoin. Making another fork is a clear price manipulation and each new attempt of such manipulation will end in an even greater catastrophe. People have more knowledge and luckily understand that Bitcoin Cash is - as Roger Ver said - "only business".
