Title: Smartass newbie wearing a "signature". BAN?
Post by: TheBeardedBaby on November 27, 2018, 12:16:49 PM
Just bump into this one, a newbie trying to cheat wearing a "signature" in the post field.
BTW he already got 2 of his alt accounts banned, this will be the next one too go 1.
Guys keep your eyes open for cheating newbies. The restriction are set by theymos so this kind of behavior should be punishable.

I super agree. Please dontpqnic and just relax. All of these fluctuations are simply normal in investing. Be patient because for sure, the market will go up again.

That's a clear violation of forum rules: advertising isn't allowed.

His last post is complaining about another ban, I can only hope the banned accounts are starting to hurt the spammers. They used to be able to create a new one and continue, and thanks to the merit requirements they can't replace banned accounts anymore. I think the increase in ban-appeal threads in Meta means some spammers are getting more desperate. I like it :D

This account should also be banned by the admins for posting advertisements not within the signature area, this is not the first time he included an advertisement with his posts. He actually have done it with other ads in the past.

First off, you have to see who leads the bounty. You have to check if that person is capable and competent. Next you have to see who is on the team.

I am thinking that he might have been a newbie in the past where he can't wait to be part of a signature campaign that is why he is doing this kind of illegal advertising and he might be getting paid for this as he has done it several times already.

24. Advertisements (including signatures within the post area) in posts aren't allowed unless the post is in a thread you started and is really substantial and useful.[9][e]

We probably need to be on the lookout for this kind of behavior actually. As more and more spammers get banned and restart with newbie accounts, some may resort to this tactic when the realize they will struggle to get that one elusive merit.

It's not a big deal, at least not for now. You don't have to be on a lookout for this at all. If you see a random user putting such signatures on every post, just report him, and mods will take care of it; rather than coming to meta and  creating a thread about this new 'threat' and make users go on a wtichhunt for these ad-spamming dumb fuckers, emphasis on the users(which is everyone but bots and LoyceV, obviously).

He have more than 3 accounts ( at least two are confirmed and banned) but i'm pretty sure he has more accounts hidden.
So if this account is not banned for ban evading, then it should be definitely banned for advertising as Loyce said.
But we have to keep our eyes open for such atitude. If he got paid for doing this s# i'm sure there are others like him.

It figures that these cock smokers would resort to these tricks in order to circumvent the noob restrictions.  Hopefully they'll get banned on sight.  Jesus, all you have to do is pay for a Copper membership and boom, you can advertise.  But nope, they'd rather cheat and think they're being so clever.

Lol at Digipharm.  I thought that loser project was already finished imploding.

I hate the big pharma eugenics projects.
I would absolutely love to sit down and discuss your views on that over coffee or something.  It's too damn bad we live on different continents.

Advertising pharma can get you into trouble with Google etc - as well as Jet Cash. I hate the big pharma eugenics projects.

This should be perma-banned one way or another as he is definitely breaking a lot of rules. And posting that he has two accounts banned is him already admitting that he owns other accounts which is already considered ban evasion. Plus that is two strikes already and he is really not learning how to stop copying and pasting other people's work. I like how these people are somehow pushed in a corner where their high ranking accounts are already useless to them anymore.

Everyone who does the sig in post thing gets banned normally.

What is dofficult is when it’s more difficult to spot. Spmerimes it can be let go but advertising in threads outside of the economics section isn’t allowed for the most part.

Maybe there's something else they can do, if they want:
They can quickly archive the post with archive.is and include that short url into the report, just in case the newbie start to edit the post and remove the signature part to escape the ban...

Rule breaking is still rule breaking... he’s just avoiding paying the fee for a copper membership... (and earning merits).

Hmm, this what I was thinking will happen if the signatures would be deleted up to full member level. Was not thinking that this will happen after the last update .

I guess we have to keep our eyes open on report this kind of behaviour.
