What a sunny day for bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market? The market has added over $20 billion in the last 48 hours.
is that the sign for the next crypto bull run or this is just another pump by the whales to let people in and later cash out their money?
Are we on the verge of seeing another ATH very soon or it is just an ordinary pump... What y'all thinking?

Yeah, it is a fresh breath of air in the constant plunge that has been happening for the past few days. Looks like a good amount of buyers entered at the $3800 levels. So now we have a decent support established at those levels. But it would be too soon to call it anything. We are still in bearish territory. Wait for the trend to play out before entering with your funds.

For sure. I thought that $4300 is a mental barrier, but looking at the current price, it looks like its not the case anymore so we're looking healthier than excepted. So the total BCH war seems to be a non-factor none and perhaps we have seen the bottom at $3,300 and bears are really exhausted at this point and there's no massive sell-offs. I do hope it holds though to at least $4500 so that we might see a good ending this 2018 (at least $6500 is not bad).

Hate to be a party pooper here, but this could very well be a dead-cat bounce.  I'm not complaining whatsoever about the rebound in the past 24 hours or so, but it's only been a day and nobody here knows whether bitcoin's going to continue to increase or if this is something like short sellers covering their positions--in which case, there could be more pain ahead.

My advice (worth everything you paid for it):  If you bought bitcoin when it dipped below $4000, sell it now and take your money off the table.  And wait.

I'm not counting any chickens, all year we've seen the market slump for 3-7 days at a time then have a short 1-2 day recovery before stability and then the next slump. This time could be different, but then again it might not be.

I think it's just an ordinary pump, I'm not really sure about the bull run at the end of the year. Chances are, a bull run will occur when the BCHABC and BCHSV wars are over. Today's increase is likely because whales buy lots of crypto at very cheap prices so prices increase slightly.

Nothing fancy to me. If the same happens every day for 15-30 days at least I will change my mind. Considering the lost in 2 weeks even a green +20% is nothing compared to 2 weeks back. Well I lie a little, it's better than nothing, but we need to see it for more days and not just 24 hours.
There is still a lit candle that gives us a glimmer of hope, we just have to believe in Santa Claus.

I'm not sure why so many people are complaining about it. I for one am happy that it's getting green and I hope it continues on this path. It may be dead cat bounce or not, we don't know but being optimistic helps.

The prices are going to change from time to time always and forever so which is nothing new to discuss about when there is small price change in the crypto cap values and one more thing everything can change in minutes so still risky and think before you buy now.

I have a non-standard point of view, in my opinion, the market made a U-turn in order not to lose and keep interest in crypto currencies of investors and ordinary people. If Bitcoin fell below $ 3000, many small investors would lose money, it would be anti-advertising crypto. This can confirm that the crypto market is controlled.

It's how the market behaves and still we aren't sure about when this will continue. Those who are trading daily could somehow managed to gain some profits and hopefully everything is going to be good until next month.

Yeah.All the altcoin prices are controlled by bitcoin and the bitcoin price is controlled by the crypto whales,big miners and the cryptcurrency exchange platforms.However,something makes me think that the recent price crash was caused by a temporary lack of control,not by pure manipulation.The temporary lack of control was caused by the BCH drama.

Yeah, I was happy to see the market green again and all their negativity mindset seems gone as of the moment. Holiday season is approaching, hope this green will continue until Bakkt launched. If ever, we're going to have a much better 2019 compared this year 2018.

Hopefully the recent price rise is a sign of good things to come, being pessimistic does not help bring up the price, a market can flourish only when people are optimistic about its prospects.

It's true that we should always think optimistically, but even the greatest optimism will not help if the whales still want to manipulate the price and make people panic.

People are realistic, that's a better term to use. If you look at how much the market has gone down in terms of percentages, current bounce up is nothing more than a tiny improvement of the sentiment. I would even like to say that the current bounce up is a textbook "recovery" before we are heading down again.

Of course, I hope that I am wrong and we are actually working on a recovery, but it seems too easy at this stage. As we have seen in the last couple of weeks, what people thought would be bottoms are now levels we are far away from. I like the volumes though. There is plenty of activity going on which is what we want to see in crypto. Volume = interest.

The support @ $3600 was never breached, and several days ago the bulls are testing $4000 only to have breached it yesterday and made a comfortable footing at the said range. This might be the start of a recovery but I'm not too optimistic yet since we've seen the same pattern happened last week: a slight increase and it went downhill from there. The climb back to $4000 seemed to be flawless and haven't met any resistance as of late, which makes me somewhat doubtful of what the coming weeks has to offer for bitcoin.

I sow that yesterday but it is not much encouraging as it looks like fakeout. Since morning it remains in the same area and that means it might fall again.  The bull has no momentum to push the price further up.  I think now still remains the best time for us to invest and if you are wise you will invest now.

The expectation for the bull run to commence is high, but we have several dip in year 2018, not so good as we cannot categorically ascertain when the bull run will coomence, today sign of green does not mean the bull run is commencing, lots of investors have speculate that year 2018 will be fully meant for correction, we hope the bull run will commence in December at least to $5000, the future is bright no need to panic.

Just watched the progress and don't just make a conclusions using the recent short period of price movement as reference.

Of course the markets are looking healthier, they always do after a big
drop, this could also be as suggested a dead cat bounce and we could
see another sharp drop but it will be all right again.

All those who were fearful of the last drop will learn from this and know

It's all green, but need to take note of the percent increase. If you'll notice that percent increase is smaller than every percent decrease. Accumulating through times in a week, the market is still on the downward trend. The good thing about the chart is the volume of cryprocurrency coming in. Hoping this will continue to grow.

Its a good advise came from you sir! I think also that it is a short pull back for the market. All people who bought at 4000 dollars below should take profit right now or else they will regret once bitcoin dump again. Its horrible to invest in this market condition where we cannot predict whether the market is in trend reversal or just a hype.

Everytime I look at Coin Market Cap, then I see all green, it makes me very worried especially when there is a sudden pump, becaue I know that reversal is just around the corner. This year taught me to never be complacent especially when prices go green-- you'll never know when the next red will hit the market. For sure it will hit hard. For now, we can just relinquish the joys of this market and play our money very wisely.

We can sure still expect to see few dips to round off the year. But with the way things are at the current bitcoin price, one can only but be modest to choosing the 5,000$ as the closing bitcoin price for year, 2018. The green markets is just a glimmer of hope but will have to get to the 7,000$ mark by year's end.

I don't know I have a mix feelings about the sudden jump above $4200-$4300 as this might be a dead-cat-bounce again. Or speculators laying out its bear trap or its a false signal, we will see. Of course being a trader, checking the price and seeing it in green feels good. But once you look closely and analyze then everything chance. Somehow you should make your decisions and adjust your trading plan. Personally though, I'm not confident of the sudden reversal so trade wisely.

That is why bitcoin price is very volatile. As everyone saw bitcoin value is fluctuating then recovered 2 to 7 days. If the value of bitcoin continues to decrease many small time investors will loose their money. But $4300 value is not bad, and it look like its getting ready for total recovery.

That is the reason we should not spread that FUDs all over the forum as it recovers quickly.

A lot of posts I've read is Bitcoin dying again, Bitcoin and the market is red and all of that stuff but now it is recovering and people now are regaining that smile, that hope that the price might hit another ATH again though I don't think that will happen these year, it might be next year or the next next year but all I know is that the possibility is not zero.

It is just a cycle of the cryptocurrency market. There are times that the market is dumped and there are also times that the price of the coins are good. Like today, most of the cryptocurrencies experience a little increase in their price.

Wrong, 3600 support was breached 3 times over last few days, low was 3474.

How people have started again, for me Bitcoin having a upward reversal depend on the events and news entering the space this late 2018. BAKKT launch in December would have helped greatly but was postponed till January, for me I just have an open mind but don't see any major drop again this year unless people start talking profit for festive period

crypto prices have continued to decline until now, it happened to under $ 4300 and a major defeat has hit many cryptocurrency users. I am still optimistic that crypto will rise from the problem this time but it will take longer for that. all must be patient and process to get better to get a better price for CRTPYO in the future

Probably it is. It is very unpredictable. Things happened the way we do not really expect. The pump and dump happens without us knowing. But then we all need to hold and wait for the right moment to gain profit. It is very important to know or analyze the market always.

This is why it's dangerous to short bitcoin, it has been known to spike in a short amount of time.  The only people that can safely short are those with inside information or the whales themselves.

It is still a good thing that despite of the dip, the prices are still rising up a a bit. It is hard to predict the future value of cryptocurrency but we must just keep in mind that the dip isn't on it's stable condition. The market would still recover no matter what. The green market is just a simple evidence that better days are coming our way.

You right, the green price for a while does not mean that bull run is coming, we are in a bad condition before with a number of sharp derivatives, and it will require a lot of support like good news and mass adoption, etc. to raise the price of bitcoin up high, just be prepared and be careful

Its seems that the price of bitcoin will not get below $3000 in the end of this year. Try to check the chart on market it seems that the green is the sign of to the moon which the price of all cryptocurrency will go up. I think the bull run will coming soon so we need to be patient.

Market seems that market price will gradually rising and before end of the year possible Bitcoin will become below $3k and it will rise its price this upcoming year. And I think the bull run is starting so surely this coming year will be enough and if that continue surely green market will be over again that many people wanted, the long waiting is nearly end, so don't give up and keep waiting.

I think that for a very long time the price of Bitcoin will fluctuate between 3 and 5 thousand dollars. When Bitcoin began to fall, a chain reaction occurred and the majority of investors left the market. It will also take enough time for investors to believe in crypto again and return to the market.

Most of those small investors are the ones who bought near the top, already lost a money and have already left the market. Right now most people still holding bitcoin have either bought recently in anticipation of a recovery or are loyal to holding through almost anything as they've already held from 20k down to 3k.

I will not be very excited about what it is happening, the market recovered a little and that is better than what we were seeing for the last weeks but it is unlikely this is the bull market people are waiting for, this is just a small correction and it was not even big enough to recover all the ground we lost, we are far away from that and unless you are buying bitcoin for this low price I do not see a reason to celebrate.

There is a slight improvement but it is still down compared to last week. The market looks a lot better and I see a lot of positive news about the crypto market, bitcoin. It is hoped that by the end of this year, the market will increase again and more people will invest more.

However, according to some circulating news in the last few days the price of bitcoin will fall back and looking for the lowest price and many people said that the price of bitcoin will come down to the price of $3000 or $2500. Nice to hear this and hope this continues.  I just read one article now that the writer is saying " bitcoin to $1500 in January " but I really disagree with this speculations and I think bitcoin is heading up again.  There are many issues that has come into the market and those issues should be able to push bitcoin upwards and I expect that to happen next year.

Unfortunately, this situation can only be temporary. Even if prices now go up, they can fall even more at any moment. I think that at the beginning of next year that we will be able to say that the bear market is over.

Yes, I didn't see any good sign in the crypto market now, it's too early about yelling the price that going to high after this it will spike again into a red market like what I have observed these few days. As of now let's do hope even not having bull run at least Bitcoin will around at 5k to 6k dollars price rate before year end. I hope the green light came on the market to stay for a little bit longer. In any case my prediction to bitcoin is 4+ thousands, I really doubt it will show a phenomenal result during the month, so I do not expect something shocking big.

It is too early to say anything. Situation is suitable for whales to pump it up so we will have to wait a bit longer to give any valid conclusion. But I love to see all in green, makes me very happy.
About ATH, i think that we are waaaay to far from it man  :)

Price action is very little currently, we may end up in a narrow bracket for multiple months like we did with the price around 6k. Whales won't want to pump the price at this point, they'll want to keep accumulating. ATH is going to be a minimum of 1 year IMO.

There's not much space to keep falling. Previously Bitcoin bear markets were ending after correcting close to 80% and people are waiting for 3000. I think that we won't get to see it. It would be too easy and everyone would get rich. In these markets there's always only avery small number of people who are right and make money. The market has to keep surprising. We will either go up from 4000 or go down to 1000 or less :D

if investors didnt want loss their money they have to hold their bitcoin.althoug they need money for their holiday.they could postponed their fun need if want their money recovered.

It is not any greener than what it used to be. Just because whales stopped selling their coins for now don't be fooled by the fact that it looks green for now. Hash war is not exactly over and Craig is still trying to make bitcoin cash satoshis vision coin relevant. He is selling his bitcoins in order to buy his coin while making it look green and when everything in the market falls in price and his coin goes up everyone knows he will fuel that coin to higher price and others will follow by selling their coins and buying his coin which will help him as well. All of this will cause the price to keep going down for another while. Market is still in danger and not going anywhere up soon, maybe a bit of course (I wouldn't be shocked as high as 5 thousand dollars) but it won't be sustainable thing for now. We need the market to correct itself with high volumes first in order to get excited about it.

I'm now more confident to see $4,000 rather than falling more below $3,000 which is more giving me another headache when I use to check the market. There's an additional market cap for the market but it's unlikely that it will stay there, everything's unpredictable and that amount can go out again.

December is a month wherein we received some bonus in the company that we are working with and because market is really bad then definitely they would prefer to hold their cryptocurrencies. Hopefully, we can see some improvement in the next few months.

Even returning back to $6k might not be a strong enough signal of a reversal, I think it would require breaking higher support levels approaching 10k usd.


Right now bitcoin isn't being moved by the world situation or any particular news. Any market like this is more about mass psychology than anything else, positive news is brushed off in these times and negative news is jumped upon, the reverse happens in a bullish market, either way they don't change anything.

People like to celebrate too early, the recovery of a few days is enough for them to believe that a new bull market is coming but those that take the time to calm down and see the market for what it is are not going to celebrate until the recovery at least last a few months otherwise the market could make a turn and go down again and make you lose money because of it.

Yeah, it's too early to celebrate, Bitcoin price in the market played at the range of 3.8k dollars to 4.2 dollars which are repeated up and down situation. I think the market will recover but I take more months before it is going through. However, we can keep holding our asset until our profit was there and don't do panic selling which not contributes to the market, hence, it makes it worst.

Calm down and still have a proper look at the market before you get carried away. The market is still bearish and any little shake again will certainly push the price further down than it has already gone. BTC is now below $4,000 again and the chart is not looking promising at all. Don't expect last year scenario to play off again.

Well, the price of Bitcoin is not at $3700 meaning you are right about that. The price of Bitcoin is declining again and I don't know when will it go back to it's current price of $4000 or when it will may pump. Right now, the price is very low if we will be comparing them to the reigning ATH but there are still the possibility of pumping these year, we should take advantage of the low prices.

It's a little bit strange what's happening now, as I see everyone was upset because of such fall, then when price felt to 3600 usd, in one day it become more than 4000$. I thought it would be a push which would slowly return bitcoin to it's 6000$ line but somehow price still falls and plays between 3600-3900. Finally price will rise because I highly doubt giant miners will accept these terms for a long time, to my mind they need it currently to cut so hige difficulty.

It is a fact that the cryptocurrency market has a cycle. There are times that the market is good and there are times that the market is in bad condition. It seems that the market today is nowthe beginning of the good market.

It seems like but then again that was another bull trap being set. Take a look on the current market now as of Dec. 6,2018, that has drop its market price up to 3,8K USD per bitcoin. This is relatively not good and bear market is still on and no sign for good in the near future.

This happened only briefly on 29th November, a week ago. As we speak now, BTC is below 3900 USD. There is nothing green or healthy yet about the market to celebrate.

Yes, yesterday was a good sign of bitcoin pumping again but of course we must not push ourselves to the limit. We must consider both sides or both the possibility that bitcoin may pump or may not. Last year was a sad year for all of us crypto-enthusiasts, we were really hoping that bitcoin will recover and pump eventually after that huge dump but it didn't happen. Bitcoin just sit in a certain range and with the year nearly-ending, it goes low again.

Volume is still too low, typically we see a spike in volume, and then price follows. Should be bottom somewhere around this area so scoop up what you can folks (just my opinion)

Indeed it was a sunny day looking at the current price we are 1000$ down again in two weeks and the market cap is mere 110B$ but I feel we will see some relief towards the end of this month so I have voted for 4000+$ as I feel we may see a slight bullish movement near the Christmas time.

There is a good potential for the future and upwards movement but I doubt it is anything soon. I know we need to at least wait until this SEC decision thing happens, it has been waited forever and it keeps getting delayed and delayed all the time and until that is decided I don't think we are going to have any major movement. The price could be moving one way or another in small numbers and it may even keep falling lower but until the SEC is decided it will not be doing anything huge.

We just had some bad couple of weeks, from Craig selling his coins to bakkt getting delayed and now SEC delaying theirs it just keeps getting worse and worse, eventually bad news will run out and good news will start to come. When a bad thing happens in crypto it is always back to back but fortunately when a good thing happens that's back to back too and the price moves either side very sharply.

Dont be mislead by this fake green growth,because just after couple of days the market dipped again and this time almost drops below 100$ billion market capitalization.and expect more like this situation as the volatility of the cryptocurrencies are taking over this whole year,and the issue of manipulation

Lol, I bought stellar @ & 0.25 and now the price is down to $0.11 for each of the coins, despite all the hype recently. But I’m not really worried about that, I have Ethereum and other coins, including XRP and BTC. They haven’t been performing very well lately, Bitcoin is stuck at 3k. Experts are even predicting more fall to come around next year January. But I have still no option than to still continue Hodl’ing.

Well it could be a trap because we have seen this kind of pattern in the last 6 months or so. There's no more bull run this year and it will take a lot of money to start and reset the market again. Although I believed that we're closing in at the bottom price. And unless we hit it, bull run will not happen. So most probably next year we will see bitcoin hit floor price before we can suddenly witness a dramatic price increase once Bakkt and ETF goes live.

Don't think we'll see any prolonged growth until we have clarity on the ETF and Bakkt. Once we have that we have an immediate growth trend which isn't years in the future.

Holders cannot do anything when the price falls but still it is an opportunity to everyone to invest and start again. Though it is hard and take time to gain again, no worries as long as the market is going to grow again and the coin recovers, that could gain good. Keep positive and wait on what going to happen on the market for the following years.

Today market has shown some good positive movements but this does not mean that this is the start of bull run. It may takes many months before we cross all the resistances till 15K and then move up further.

Yes there is a small hope that bitcoin will going to recover again. If there is a chance that it will going to recover to the point where market price was high for the time when I was investing bitcoin then I would be more than happy for it. I could be able to see my money again after it was being invested in bitcoin and other altcoins.

The price has been going up slightly bit for couple days in a row now and that scares me, it shouldn't but it does. This is what the 2018 bear market did to all of us, I am a crypto dude who has been into crypto for years yet right now when I see crypto market going higher I get scared.

Right now short sales are getting higher and higher in number these days because the whales or at least the bitmex folk believe that this is a fake out and the price will go back down quickly hence they are not trusting the long and putting their money in short.

Hey cryptos market are never stable for long periods of time, their volatility is what makes them unique. I feel it's too early to take a call on whether 2019 will be a good or bad year for crypto prices, as it'll depend on the upcoming events of quarter one of 2019. While it was expected that Bakkt would be approved by 24th January 2019 it's been delayed again, and even bitcoins futures are in doubt hence once again it's difficult to give a definite answer about 2019 and ahead.

I think "healthy" and "greener" are two different characteristics of the market which have almost no relation to each other. We had seen a lot of green days in November-December 2017, but was the market "healthier" back then?

In my opinion, the less manipulations in the market, the healthier it is, regardless of whether it's green or red. We can't forbid manipulations in a free market, but we can hope that they will be less possible in the future due to wider adoption.

That's a fair point. The most significant part of this observation though is "Decentralization". The price cannot be predicted in a decentralized model. I think you are right about evolving, and that's why the situation for crypto is better now than ever before, and we can hope for much wider adoption in the future, which inevitably will lead to rising in price of the most established coins. Hey yes we're seeing small but positive movements in bitcoins prices, it seems people are finally buying in dips. I feel it'll take a while to fully see the impact of people's buying, and if there's major surge in the buying volumes we may see greater upward movements. I think the SEC approval will trigger more, because BAKKT already announced that they will launch, and usually it will affect the market to a little bullish prior to the launch, but it's still not happening now, maybe the masses are still waiting for a bigger news, which is the ETF approval IMO.

December last year the price are around $4k and now we are ranging to $10k-$11k. The market is indeed improving for this year and there's a chance for bullrun.

OP the poll question needs an update, we are past the highest which stands at 10,000 and getting back to the subject we are looking greener than ever before just waiting to see cryptos break the all time high everywhere.

Still we are about 45% down from the ATH, which was reached on December 2017. The alts are even more so, with Ethereum down by 80% and Bitcoin Cash down by 90% from their respective peak levels. So I would say that there is still a long way to go. But looking at the trends, things looks rosy for Bitcoin. For the alts, I would say that they are yet to come out of the bearish loop.
