Why did they have to mention that it was crypto theft?

that is for them to tell people that cryptos are dangerous because they are easily stolen. just look

Thieves and scammers remain a big puzzle for the crypto sector. Crypto cybersecurity & intelligence company CipherTrace approximates that around $1 billion was illegally stolen within the first 9 months of this year alone.

For instance, Coinidol recently reported about the 5 men that were arrested by South Korean police following the hacking of 6,000 computers.

How many people are robbed in real life? What is the value that corrupt politicians steal? we're talking about a lot of money, I'm not saying it's right to steal in the crypto world, because it's wrong to steal both the crypto world and the real world. I just think they are trying to destroy the bitcoin image with this news

@Slow death - obviously, they have to highlight it as 'crypto' because as far as I know they're heavily cracking bitcoin down since last year.

So its like sending a message to Bulgarian criminals not to messed with them because they're going to come down with the full hands of the law. I wonder though if that 3 billion is still intact? And who's custody it is, hmmm...

It's quite interesting how despite the huge "bust" there hasn't been one single recent statement from the Bulgarian government regarding these coins, and what their plans are. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a hoax, mainly because of how easily you can follow everything that happens online, and literally nothing indicates that these coins even exist.

In the worst case, if it's true, and the coins are sold or kept (hope they are sold), then it's likely distributed amongst corrupt state officials. If it was put to good use, or to reduce their national debt, they would have proudly shared that with the world.

It's great to hear when this happens because ti shows that these criminals who try to hack and steal crypto are not completely immune and they will eventually be found. hopefully it will make others think twice before committing a similar offense
