Greetings everyone,


I'm looking for a 100$ PayPal loan.

Collateral:
1- I bought 700$ worthy of btc when bitcoin price was 8200$, now its worthy 350$ (BTC price 4000$), so idk how that could be managed as a collateral with a no loss situation ?!
2- I also have an authentic .edu email from my university, that could be used for many things.

Reason for Loan: To make a motion graphic video for my project. (If any user here would be kind enough to make it and I would pay him as soon I get funds then I won't need the loan.)

You can use bitcoin as collateral in this case. Until you pay back the paypal, maybe the value will rise.

Can't the person simply repay the paypal loan, get his BTC back, then contact paypal and have the payment reversed?

Superb idea of scamming the paypal itself with their own payment reverse term.

In theory yes of course he can. But personally I never lost a paypal dispute so... I don't understand why you people are so afraid of paypal nvm..

What I'm curious about is what will happen if the value rises ? would the lender get his 100$ and give me the rest?

Yes, this is the meaning of collateral
The value of the collateral is counted by the price of the moment that the deal is made
Even if the price rises at the moment you repay, you won't be charged additional fees beside capital+interests
That's why people are using cryptocurrency as collateral, since they believe the value will grow and they don't want to sell it

The problem VOD raised is like this: You send BTC as collateral -> I send you Paypal -> You repay PayPal by sending Paypal transfer -> I return you BTC -> You start a dispute on the transfer (repayment) you sent me
But there's actually a better way to handle it, the borrower (you) can just repay the loan by using "refund" function, and send the interests with another transfer. By this, both party can save transaction fees, and there will be much little problem about chargeback. Also, in case the borrower default the loan in the end, the lender could also file a dispute on Paypal to get his loan back

Nope. For that to work the amount that was transferred to his account must still be there. As far as I know, you can't "refund" from a different source - that would be similar to a simple transaction.

Offer redacted. OP wanted a much more complex animation that would not have been possible to do within 24 hours. I estimated the value of the video he wanted to create at around $300 for a week-long work. And when I wanted to put my branding/logo on one corner of the video OP didn't come to an agreement.

1- I agreed for him to put a website.
2- I agreed to pay him 5$ for 7 seconds as what I was going to pay. or a 1$ for 1 second if he wanted that.
3- I told him I could give you a 1000$ if the campaign went good, he also refused.

He refused all that and wanted to put this at the bottom of the video.

I disagreed because its too much, he refused to put his website and said: "If I put my website I would be exposed."

I responded with "exposed for what, are you offering children porn !"

then he blocked me!

And just to point out the facts
- that according to OP - its okay to suggest someone deals in childporn if they're wary about their privacy.

Lesson learnt = Do not go out of your way to help people. 9/10 times people are idiots that don't deserve help.

Some people will never learn the meaning of privacy. And it is people like these who are the ones who go running around and spread misconception.
What did the OP expect to hear back in retaliation? If he was in front of me and told me the same thing about childporn I would have beaten him to a pulp.
