Title: Moderator please check - "using automated translation tools in local board"
Post by: marlboroza on December 11, 2018, 07:28:17 PM
It is not easy to report this, but I'll do my best. (thanks Trofo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1099980) for pointing this cheater)

Account xiaolin1579 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=184651) uses automated translation tools in local board to translate announcement threads and random projects.

Case 1)

bitvalve translated (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5082913.0) --> http://archive.is/X0I7I

Translated from https://www.bitvalve.com/

https://i.imgur.com/mQSd8P1.png

Translation should be "početak pisanja bijelog papira".
"otvaranje ravnoteže bijele boje" is simple wrong and it means(closest translation) "opening balance of white color".

Case 2)

PLDGR translated  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5083326.msg48599044#msg48599044) --> http://archive.is/pgpdn
https://i.imgur.com/q7YLvkU.png

From here: http://PLDGR.ORG: Verifiable, Traceable, Social Media Donation

https://i.imgur.com/NPdid87.png

"Don't miss out our" == "ne propustite našu/naše/naš". They translated word "out" as "escape"
https://i.imgur.com/NO1cK0i.png

..."nemojte propustiti naš bijeg" translated back to English: "Don't miss our escape".

https://i.imgur.com/dnV8je5.png

...or, "don't miss our way out"

https://i.imgur.com/5iZxMJz.png

I can't translate whole sentence back to English because it doesn't make any sense.

Case 3)

simplybrand translation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5074719.msg48176489#msg48176489) --> http://archive.is/cNEto

Ok. I don't understand this word nor I can spell it correctly (mortivvayi), probably because these characters don't exist in our language:

They exchange mythical creatures. Literally. That's it.

There is more but I for some strange reason I can't take any more screenshots. Lightshot stop responding(lies)

Excellent job and you took a lot of time making this thread the way it is. Users like the one above shouldn't be allowed to do any translations, as they take the tasks away from legitimate translators who devote their time on doing a proper job. Trofo from the Croatian section is one of those legitimate translators and there are quite a few who do excellent translations if I might add.

People who don't know language very good and translate something without tools don't make mistakes like this.
Ok.

The Platform will target not only professional traders, but also normal users who just want to exchange their coins for fiat or for other cryptos in a quick, cheap and efficient way.
Link is in first post.

You can translate this back to English if you want. "Platform will target not only professional professionals, but also their clients who want to exchange coins or for other mouses in a quick...." something like this.

miševi == mouses
profesionalni profesionalci == professional professionals

So far this exchange has giants, mouses and professional professionals  :D

Thank you marlboroza for making this thread. I wanted to post more evidence this morning but I can see all the translated threads are gone. Moderator was fast on this one.

I suspect user is from Thailand (see picture below) and has some distant connection to Croatia from his last name on google drive (he has it linked as his portfolio).

https://i.imgur.com/pwfg5SK.jpg

Since all the ANN threads are gone I have checked his whitepapers a bit. Following passage is from WP related to the same exchange which has "giants, mouses and professional professionals".

Quote
2.2 Problem rješavanja problema
Misterijsko šifriranje obično se mijenja između skromnih ili decentraliziranih tajanstvenih
slijetanja. Centralizirana kriptirana razmjena omogućuje trećim stranama da podijele svoje
transakcije. Ne postoji takav de-centralizirani okultni prijenos peptida treće strane (poznat kao
P2P prijenos).

Now I will try to translate that masterpiece, and will probably fail miserably because it is total garbage.

Quote
2.2 Problem solving problem
Mystery coding is usually changed between humble or decentralized mystery
landings. Centralized encrypted exchange enables third parties to share
transactions. There is no such de-centralized occult transfer of third party peptides (known as
P2P transfer).
Actually after translating it even sounds better. Maybe I should have used google translate for better results.

And another beautiful passage:
Quote
Podržava više kripti
BITValve je samo P2P Exchange i podržat će trgovanje za većinu tvrtki. Na primjer, bit
će uključeni BitCon, Etherum, BitCoan Cash i LitChat.
Transaltion:
Quote
Supports multiple crypts
BITValve is just P2P Exchange and will support trading for most companies. For example, it will include
BitCon, Etherum, BitCoan Cash i LitChat.
Not only it supports crypts so you can use it as your last burial place it has some really interesting trading opportunists like BitCon, BitCoan Cash i LitChat, and on top of that you can transfer third party peptides. We should all use this one.

I suspect his whitepapers are full of such gems so I will leave a link below in case some Croatian speaking member would like to lough a little  ;D
xiaolin portfolio of whitepapers (http://)

And finish with a picture of table from same WP which shows he is even too lazy to put text in right columns. It is part English, part Croatian and part nothing.

prosvjed == protest

It is easy for native speakers to judge whether it is machine translation or not, but the problem is that judgment is difficult for Bounty Manager who is not native speaker. Moreover, I think it is also a problem that many Bounty Managers do not check posting history.
A similar problem also occurred in the Japanese local section, and I posted it on Meta.

How to reveal spammers who pretending to be translators of native speakers  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5072302.msg48061205#msg48061205)

I got some suggestions on that topic and I posted a topic that warn spamers not to post a machine translated thread on Japanese local section.
To Bounty participants who pretend to be Japanese native speakers (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5076598.msg48272424#msg48272424)
 I think that it has an effect so far.

If native users are active on their local board then it is easy to report automated translators or who use any type of tools to translate. If native can report against the translator then moderator can take action easily.

That is exactly right! If you browse your Local forum on a regular basis pay attention to the threads that are opened there. If you find threads like this one promising giants and dragons and what not, post in the thread with proof that google translate was used, report it to the mods and help genuine translators from your local sections from not losing translation work because of cheaters.
