HODL is the best option now for all my altcoins. I will keep Hodling till the bearish market is over. Everyone was thinking that bull run will start toward the end of the year, instead, there is a consistent reduction in price. Let keep hodling next year will get better for everyone.
I want to know what you feel, is there still hope for the remaining 18 days before the year end?

The reason why the massive selling started in November is because everybody assumed that November would be a crazy bullish month like last year and in 2013 and they all bought at $6000 and went long on large leverage and when the $5800 yearly low broke it set off a huge sell off and we basically lost almost 50% value in 2 weeks.

If you looked at the Bitmex open interest there was about $500,000,000 worth of positions which were closed and almost all the longs were closed in losses. Hence many people got liquidated very fast and in large numbers.

I think everything depends on how much you are at a loss. If you are a very high loss (80-90%) it does not make much sense to sell, so hold is the lesser evil.

Well, from my point of view you have taken a very good decision it is better to hold your coins than sell at a cheap rate. So far I can imagine the bearish market will start to rise back at the end of this month and most probably we are going to have a decent price next year.

Not everyone was thinking a bull run would start toward the end of the year. A lot of people (myself included) thought we'd have to wait until 2019 for any sort of recovery and 2020 beyond before a real bull run. Some people even believe that the price will never recover.

There's little hope left of a major recovery this year, getting to new year above 4.5k would be a good result for bitcoin and all other coins are priced off of that..

You have taken the right decision since the market is not getten better. HODL is the best option if and only if an individual will choose to HODL his/her coins to avoid 78% lose which is currently ravaging the crypto market with a harder dip fall everyday. Hopes should not be place on 2018 because the trend on the market doesn't work in favour of 2018 for bitcoiners to see a rise of 10 - 50% in the price of bitcoin or any other coins. Hope will be kept alive for 2019 were a now dawn for bitcoin will be set.

Holding may be the right choice but you still can decide what to hold. You can evaluate each of your holdings and decide if you think they will be able to recover or not. You may be worthwhile transitioning some of your weaker holdings over to coins that you're feeling more bullish about.

While it is okay to hodl, it's also important to evaluate the coins in your portfolio and know the usefulness of what you're hodling. Some coins have become worthless already and some have their prices sitting on $0, some of them are completely dead without any hope of recovery. I'm currently hodling as well, some I've forced to hodl because I can not sell at a loses.

HODL isn't not better just for you, it's applicable for everyone. But if everyone think to HODL then who will trade  ;D. However I am not fan of to sale coin on loss. Because after sale on loss we can see it's become double on few days. If someone don't have patience then he can't trade, he will loss only. Although I am in loser on some coin but I am still on HODL. I really don't want to sale on loss. I believe someday it will recover and will give good profits. So it's better to HODL instead of sale on loss.

Not just for altcoin, holding is the best option for bitcoin too. If you have not added bitcoin into your portfolio then this must be the right time to add it. I like to suggest you to continue your holding even after the bearish market will be finished off. If you want to get the maximum benefit from your portfolio then you should go for holding for years. I'm not sure about what are the coins you're holding but I'm just talking with respect to bitcoin as holding bitcoin for years will definitely make you rich.

Do not bother about the remaining days of this year. We just need to bear whatever will be happening in those remaining days of this year. Definitely we will going to have changes from the New Year onward which will be making bitcoin to have a new ATH also.

Holding is good if you know how to go about it but you can also playing along with the market and trying to buy low and sell high as the market move along the Fibonacci level.  I could remember that many people who sounds loses in 2013 and 2012 but keep holding has made serious profits in 2017. If you can hold with patients there is no way you will not make profits.

I do believed that up to now there are still that the majority of the community in this field of business believed in Hold. Less risk but high chance

Yeah you are absolutely right and that's why I still holding my crypto coins. Cause I already in loss about 60% of total capital and I don't wanna make any mistakes. Cause price will increase.

If you're holding,you must have it at the back of your mind that you're gonna do that for 2 to 3 years from now to make the profits you desire
Most people feel you can simply hodl for few months and keep checking the charts daily to see If there is any improvement,doing that will only cost you comfortable sleep

I see people constantly talk about hodling as a last resort plan during this bear market, but as soon as the price drops a bit further, the fear start to creep in and they end up selling anyway.

I also holding after i get more coins by trading, but maybe the price will grow and have a big profit only after long time. I have some coins i bought at 1500-2000$ but now if i sell i'm in a loss and the better will be for me to hold and wait to have at least some profit.

Judging the way you construct your question, looks like you aren't really sure yet that you will hodl until bearish market is over. You already decided that you will hodl so you should any expect for some "good happenings" until the end of the year. Focus on your purpose of holding while at the same time, make room for another round of accumulation.

I believe holding is the best option for many traders now, as everybody knows that the market wouldn't go down forever. It will recover sooner or later, so just carry on holding as long as it takes.

Not really. You might see a dead cat bounce, or the first wave (up) in a sideways trading range. But nothing is going to happen in the next 18 days that will save your portfolio.

Altcoins have been crushed, so you're right, there's not much point selling now. If it were me, I would just try to forget about my portfolio for a while and check on the market every month or two. When you approach the market that way, it'll be really easy to recognize when the next bull market or altcoin season is happening.

I do not know which altcoin you're holding, but I think you need to review it very well if it's worth hold that altcoin. I'm saying this because the altcoins are different from bitcoin and we can not think altcoins can recover your ATH if bitcoin also reaches your ATH

I think a lot of stopped thinking about the bull market! The bull market is now a daydream for the crypto enthusiasts! As you choose to HODL , then you are good to go with it. But HODL is not the solution! By holding many people lost their hope from the crypto market! By holding whole 2018 year, many people sold out their tokens and they left this platform. So, holding is not the solution for this moment, I would prefer trade! You will ask that many people don't know how to trade well, but still trading is far better than losing money by holding! Flawed opinion. By hodling you might see your paper value continue to shrink as time goes by, but with trading you risk seeing your coin count go down, which is way worse.

If seasoned traders are slowly but surely realizing that it's better to back off for now, you think the average person here will have much success trading? Definitely not. Trading for average people isn't much different from buying whatever coin at current levels and hope that it will go up and then drop to re-enter the market and repeat the whole trading cycle. Yeah there are many opinion said that usually around October to December the price will have a huge rising, but it didn't happen this year, and I don't see any sign that Bitcoin going to have rally, holding maybe a good option for now,but you may want more than holding,buy some more or learn trading maybe good for you,the 2019 year will be more unpredictable,so better be prepared

I agree that majority is thinking that a massive bull run will happen in the last quarter of the year. But if you're going to observed we have been stuck in the $6K range meaning the bulls is still very weak and when this all of Bitcoin Cash drama enter the picture, the whole outlook has change.

Due to market fluctuation, it is very good to hold them in the market instead of selling them for cheap prices because if you sell them you will be making very less money. As you can see market cap is kept decreasing because many people don't want to sell them and start holding them. Don't panic at the current situation better stay strong by holding them until the market starts recovering.

This is a very rational approach to the decision-making process. Why should one sell if there is not incentive to sell and instead loss appears. So be rational and hold it till the time the values of the coins rise.

Hold is definitely the option of wise trader and investor thats it! if and only if you want to lose or test your luck with maximum risk due to market situation we are in right now. Months before it started to fill sourness to the market and because of that prices went down especially bitcoin for about 50% so the other cryptocurrency are. Common sense if you dont want to lose it is not the time of selling coins.

Our market situation is a big challenge for everyone,  not all the time we've been all through into holding especially when knew that a certain coin won't have any chance to grow.  Of course we look into better opportunity and for me,  I sell it and invest into other coins.

That's another option. You can sell at a loss if you think other coins will make up for the losses you got with btc. Though you're not sure witht that as well. Holding may be tough since there are times when you need to hold longer than you can afford to but sometimes there are no better alternative.

I think you have made the right decision. Because now the market condition is not good. So holding is not the bad ddecision for now. Now if we all sell our coins, then the market conditions will get worse. So holding is the best decision.

It's not what the dumb money is thinking about but I bet the smart money is. Plenty of people who are bullish for BTC long term will be using this is a big opportunity to accumulate, ready to dump on the dumb money at the top of the next bubble.

There is no specific date when will the bull run start. Even holding is the good option for this bearish market you can still do something to regain all your losses from the dropping price of altcoin. What I feel right is a little worried because there is chance that the price of bitcoin will dropped at $2500-$1000.

Hoding coins is a bright idea to avoid cutt of loses and good for you and for us thise people still didn't lose faith that bitcoin gives another rises their value.

I can't blaming you but do not expect more the bull run before end of this year just continue to hold your coins and forget it for awhile until the price is in the dumped.

For the remaining days for this year maybe they have some possible movements happen to the bitcoin or not. Depends to the people if they want to dump more the price of the bitcoin or they want to up the value for this moment.

I am sure there will be no market expectation to recover until the year ends, I also have been only hodling for all the crypto I have, because at that time I felt that the altcoins I held would still increase, but in fact prices continued to plummet and the crypto market to now it continues to fall. So there is no other choice for me to remain hodling and not care about any more accidents that might be more severe in crashing into the crypto market.

It is the best option for not only you but everyone else too but lets not forget the companies that accept bitcoin as a payment as well. There are places that sell stuff for bitcoin and when they hold it than it means they are selling it for a loss, of course they may need to sell to restock and get more but that would cause them to lose more. Aside from that it is the best option to hold for everyone else, I wouldn't want to sell for a loss neither, who would want to lose money when they can actually profit.

I keep selling bitcoin every week for bills but aside from my bill payments I try to keep everything else in bitcoin, I cash out about 200 dollars or so every month in bitcoin and all other coins that I earn will stay in bitcoin until it reaches to above 6 thousand dollar values again.

Bitcoin will still be going down and many speculators are saying bitcoin is heading toward $3000 and $2500 . Holding is the major investments decision we can make now as cryptocurrencies market may not recover this year again or making any positive significant move.  Remember that this same market conditions has happened several time and I believe that we just need to hold and be patience with the market in other to be able to make good profits from it.  If you have some risky capitals it is even better to buy now than selling!

Agreed with you my friend, i sell bit for my daily life, and i wish i can save more to buy cryptos because i believe the bull will run shortly, about 2 weeks it will happen (IMHO).
But i must say, this week are sad, sometime i wonder how fast it will recover ?
Some articles said it will recover in the end of this year, i hope the are said the truth, i cant imagine if were not :(

Why you assume that hodling is the best strategy for you? Currently you are loosing at liest 10% of your investment weekly hoping that someday it will recover. Thats the best for you? I dont think so. Even if we will be in another bull run there is no quarantee that your coins will be pumped.

I find daytrading the one and only strategy for current market situation. Hodling is the riskiest strategy.

And they are on ~80% loss on market that growed 20 times.

Current market is pritty dumped but there is no quarantee that it wont be dumped 90% more.

It's good to be optimistic and try not to be pessimistic,and also good to always look at the bright side of things always,but c'mon,you and I know we aren't seeing any bull run in two weeks time, I may be wrong,you may be right,and vice versa,based on the markets unpredictability

So even who has a positive opinion thinks that the price recovery will be after 2 years. If this goes on I do not think price will recover until the end of the year. Also contrary to what you said the New Year may be the reason for the price decrease.

You can't ensure that the bull run will happen in this month or even in the following months. If you still have a lot of patience then you should continue to hold your coins but if you feel that the market will even crash more then you should do stop loss.

Without hold there have none way. Crypto price is very low now. If you sell  at this price,  you lost  your investment value. Many researcher hope that next year rise crypto price. So you should hold  now if you want to no loss. 

Im also doing a hold, it really frustrates me when I am looking in the market I lost most of the percentage of my coins that I am holding also the alts that I have in the market, that is why I am doing a hold because I still had a faith with the price to bounce back.

Probably its the best option for now,we do really need to hold our coins and wait till the market to recover.Selling at this moment is just wasting our investments.Its a completely lost most especially on altcoins that was being brought at a high price but when it comes to the exchanger it lower its value to almost 70% if im not mistaken.

Sometimes, the best movement is no movement at all. I also believe in the power of hodling. Anyway, you never lose unless you sell. And I'm not believing anyone's speculation about the probable bull run thing. I heard it thousand times, and it's my mistake that I believe them. Only the course of time can tell. I don't think you can get rich by holding , If you don't take any risk you cannot expect any gain , I think holding 50% of portfolio in USDT is good but holding more than that into stable coins or less risks ones , Then you need to have a second job too i guess!

Personally not expecting much in the remaining 18 days I feel this bear market will continue in 2019 as well if not for the whole year but for some months of it. We will see how the catalyst like BAKKT and ETF injects some funds in the crypto.

For altcoins yeah there is not much to lose there because they are already down a lot so hodling is the best we can do at this situation.

It doesn't matter what day or time, as long as your bias is buy, just bag some more until many of those wait and then just watched regret what you have been favored. But yes your guess is as good as them as vice versa may also happen.

We are at the same boat me too will keep holding my alts and bitcoins though my portfolio is not currently looking good where I am -83% loss and it's stressful to look at it daily. If I have some spare money I buy alts and btc even small amount to lower my buying average.

make sure you don't sell it in the middle of the road. because that will only hurt you. if you can be patient for the next 3-5 years. holding is not a problem. but if you only hold for a few months then you can still lose dude. because prices can go up and down in that period?

In my opinion, if you have lost high percentage of your investment, holding is the best way now and waiting till bearmarket ends. I believe the price will come back but it can take some months. For me now, I'm holding stablecoin and waiting to buy back, hope it will happen soon.

Waiting is a good option in dealing with bear market situations like this. We all cannot take quick action because of the very high risk. Waiting for a situation to be much better is the wisest choice. We will face a situation that will make us think that whether a quick decision will be important or not.

Hodl can be the only option if you still want to recover your investment and gain profit if the prie of the coin continue to go up. If you still that the cryptocurrency you are holding will bounce back in the future then patiently wait for it. There is still no assurance if the present bearish situation of the crypto market will end this yearend or in the first of next year so all you have to do is hodl. The other possible option is to sell your coin that continue to go down and buy another coin that is profitable.

there are two reason why we hold our asset.maybe we trapped in bearish trend so no other choice for us to avoid huge loss.and the second was we very confidene with this project future so we hold it although price down alot.

For example : I'm invest on crypto since 2014 when the value still $ 299/btc so my losing tolerance still none because I'm still on profit position !

Well hodl is now really the most amazing way to earn specially we are now on dip. There are so many potential coin that is now on a very low price and very affordable to invest. So I think the best option is to buy more coins or maybe potential coins and hold. Because the market will not going to fall forever we all know that crypto is unstable and we can maybe earn a lot on it if we have patience to hold.

As long you have good calculation every strategy is great but if you do that depend faith, I think cut loss and sell all asset is better. In this situation coins become red and end of the year it doesn't mean become good sign to recovery price action. Everything look's dark right now and I chose to sell all. That's a great option for those who have no trading skills or experience, I have seen quite a number people talk about how they make 1-5% regularly in this bearish market, and Considering that indeed there have always been at least a 1% increase or decrease in the price of coins daily, that's mean one could have made a lot within the short period that'd have been expected to be made over a long period, provided that have the right trading knowledge and strategy.

DUe to market fluctuation, it is completely very bad idea to sell them in the market because people who bought the coin at the high value will lose value if they sell now. So it is a very good option now to hold them as long as possible until your desired target is reached.

For those who already own and hold coins, the hodl is the best choice, but if you really need funds for your holiday, selling will be an option even though the market is falling. But behind this market collapse there will be people who will take advantage of the moment to buy and that is all the usual market turnaround.

I think you chose the right choice, maybe HODL is also good for crypto traders who are busy and patient, but if you need money maybe HODL is not good, you can cutloss and trade as usual, if the HODL continues your assets will not increase.

With the current fluctuation and complete downtrend in the market makes many people lose value, so instead of selling for cheap prices it is very good to hold them as long as possible until the market starts recovering, so now it is very good decision to hold them until the market starts recovering.

I chose to hold several coins because I did not want to do the cutloses, so I have to hold a coin that had lost its value. if I have to choose, I prefer to sell when the market is also not profitable for me, I manage my coins to a minimum so that the loss that I experience is not so much.

I don’t think there is any hope for the next remaining days of December 2018. The year will end without any bull run. I already knew what was coming cause I never expected the bull run to repeat itself twice in a roll. It just happened in 2017 and you shouldn’t be expecting another one in 2018, I wouldn’t also be surprised if it’s not 2019, but let’s hope that it happens.

Watch out how much you are actually buying back because the market seems to be facing resistance at the level above 4k and support at the 3.8k level. I am sorry but I dont think HODL is a good strategy for small marketcap altcoins. You can HODL BTC or some big alts like ETH or XRP but never HODL small alts. I don’t hold a lot of coins , I just go for coins that are really promising. When I’m investing I don’t miss out on investing my money in Bitcoin, that’s very important and the has started going up already. Someone once said that as the price is going up a bit, FOMO can trigger the bull as a lot of investors will think this is bull and start rushing in and as they are all rushing in the market will start growing bigger.

Still, hodl is a good thing to do, but I hope you do know that there are alt coins that are not really worth being hodl'ed and you can lose money by hodl'ing them. To HOLD might be the best option for 85% of investors as they think the market is already flattened enough and can't deep too further, but as for me, no coin is worth HOLDING, if you must HOLD then let it be 50% of your Asset while you take your profit for the other half when it enters for you, ... That is ridiculous to see a person who can manage to hold for that long. What probably his plan? x1million? Just a year of holding might be enough to know if that certain coin have its better future or not. We don't need to spend for that long with nothing assurance in returns. Why not to have a trade into other coins which we look that it there is a profit could be generated and holding for a long time is just a waste of time.

There are some basic rules that I follow while participating in the bounty campaigns. I normally sell 40% of the bounty as soon as I get the tokens in my wallets. I also like holding coins but the price of bitcoin get decreasing but for now I start buying those altcoins that pumping to get some profit than other coins that's in bad situation.

actually buying altcoins at that time will give you a very attractive price, but if you think it will give you profit in the future then is maybe not like that, we may suffer a stronger dump when we still in the down trend market, and no matter what we buy, we can still loss money, so i suggest you not buying too much altcoins but just a small, then using the rest of money to start trading, it will give you high chance to have higher profit in the future.

Most of the development coins in project development we can see profits in holding rather than selling for short profits is nt advisable

I am a valuable investor and I follow a hold for quite a long time. I think you should invest in ETH and LTC, that is, altcoins can bring in profits of more than 300% in 2020 or Q4 of 2019.
Bull run is coming and this is the time for the altcoins to be jumping prices continuously. We can get a lot of money if we buy and hold from now on.

There is nothing wrong in hodling your investment especially in bearish season as the market will always recover. Market is like a wheel sometimes we are in the bottom but it doesn't mean that we will remain in the bottom forever.

I also think that the best decision is to invest in ETH , LTC and also BTC.I think this bull run of the Bitcoin is crucial one as people lost the hope in the previous bear trend. I am sure we will see huge investments in this bull run and it is a great thing for the better future of virtual currencies. What are your thoughts about Bitcoin? Btw,i think you can go short now. This terrible especially when markets close with such sale off. i wonder when we will recover especially when everyone is selling off altcoins to bitcoin. the market is looking shabby at the moment.

this has Never been an option to me. i lost 30% of my investment. most projects have disappeared without trace. ACRON, Helbiz and the rest. the current is serve that came online this year has already failed. A dead project with all the good prospect it offered.

Congratulations on implementing this strategy, people are quick to sell at a first sign of the bear market but you prefer to HODL when everybody is shouting to dump their coins, it's still is a good strategy, but if you invest what you can afford to lose that's going to be easy for you.

I'm not in panic mode with what is happening to my altcoins investment because I'm seeing some recovery from bitcoin.
I do believe that it's impossible for bitcoin to continue its high dominant rate as that would result to a bad overall market.
Altcoins has a future, so we need to hold to see that good future, selling would now would only cause us regret when altcoins will start to rally.

HODL maybe is the best choice if ur crypto asset already drop so far. However crypto has a good future for me.

Personally I prefer BTC because of its instant Stock quotes growth and capitalization increase.

Holding can give us a good profit but we have to research before which coins we have to hold in the long term, holding long term is always the right decision because sometime the fluctuation will make us lose our patience. People who wait for the long term will always get many benefits from your potential holdings.

Today is more than half year of 2019, where even bitcoin reached the price of more than 10k$ almost many said that we are already entered the bull run season, they maybe right on that. But not like unlike what happened last 2017, because now only bitcoin was kicking its price but not the altcoins. So at this point of time it is really good to hold some of the potential altcoins until it bounce their price value in the market before selling it, so in the end we are sure that we can able to receive a good profit.
