Title: GLOBULA - Geolocation Game with Cryptoeconomy
Post by: Zenserotonin on December 13, 2018, 09:00:14 PM
Hello everyone, I don't want to publish it in serious topics yet.
I would like from you to get the first feedback on the mobile game, which I am preparing for release now.
How do you like the concept and style of the game? Would you play it?

Thanks in advance for the answers and your possible questions.

Basic description:

Globula is a massively geolocation multiplayer online game with real crypto economy model.

As the game legend goes, the events occur in a subtle high-frequency realm existing beyond the material world. Syncing real and virtual worlds is possible via geopositioning of a player with GPS.

Having found themselves in the Globula world, players discover numerous beings (transformants) and temporal power sources within regular cities, fields and forests. They can use those resources to create and build structures and forms that no one has seen before.

The basic gaming activities are hunting, mining and crafting. With all those activities balanced, Globula brings about a great hierarchy of items that, when combined with player experience system, allow for reaching game goals.

Each item in the game is tokenized on the blockchain, has its value, and may be bought or sold at the game’s auction for the internal cryptocurrency. Therefore, successful playing may allow players to earn real money.

The game features a PvP mode (player vs. player), permanent user groups known as guilds, and scenarios for territorial conquest by building complex collective structures.

Looks like a new take on Pokémon Go. I think it has some potential and love to see people implementing cryptocurrencies in new and innovative ways. Good luck with it!

The only common similarity with Pokémons is geolocation. We are glad that they appeared and showed the world that geolocation games can really become massive.
By the way, at the moment PokemonGO still have about 20 million DAU.
Thank you for your opinion.

Pokemon Go is actually a second generation game.  It evolved from Ingress.

Ingress gotten some critique for ripping off Shadow Cities, which was running long before it.
Unfortunately, Ingress did not realize its potential. They limited by too simple story (scenario), above which they could not jump.
And I think, the monetization model they applied is also complete nonsense.
We came up with a more advanced scenario, and far exceeded them, creating a balanced economy and introducing a more successful monetization model.
In addition, we created a more accurate geolocation system which is based on our own map service. If you install our prototype and compare it with Ingress, then you will understand what I am talking about.

Interesting, I've heard of similar games coming out and they all sound wicked. Give it a shot, AR games are hot right now. Only downside is making it crypto/blockchain really narrows down your user base

Yes of course. The frontend is made on Unity, so the game is cross-platform.

Here you are absolutely right. That is why even on the official website we don’t say anything about the blockchain. The end user does not need to know this, it is even harmful. We are preparing a mass product, not an experiment for crypto-geeks. Just look at the cryptogame DAW (Daily Active Wallets) to make certain conclusions:

Very interesting, thx for sharing. Looks like a gemificated platform for airdrops. Is it possible to convert collected coins into BTC?

I just tried Aircoins, it seems that in the process of coins collecting, the coins themselves as a crypt are not involved. This is just a virtual currency, a method of accounting for the future airdrops. Such a program can be written in 2-3 weeks.
