Title: Is ETH founder Vitalik Buterin about to join Waves Platform?
Post by: J1mb0 on January 01, 2019, 01:17:11 PM
I've been seeing rumours floating around Telegram, Slack and Discord.

Are these for real?

Also, would Waves Platform team want Buterin with all the baggage that entails?

Vitalik Buterin is a free thinker and he doesn't limits himself as a Ethereum founder. And it would not be a surprise if he joins another project or a new one.
But for waves, he did once met with waves founder but that's it. It's funny even to think Vitalik Buterin to join Waves Platform. If he goes for something new, it would be better than Ethereum not inferior.

Waves Platform launched not long after Ethereum. Amongst the reasons why it was conceived were the perceived shortcomings of the Ethereum Platform. Namely;

Consensus algorithm - POW is defunct legacy and, increasingly, derided by environmentalists. Ethereum POS is untested. Waves is the only decentralised general purpose public platform with effective POS (Leased Fair Proof of Stake).

Network and Userland - Ethereum is not able to support mass use/transactions effectively. Possibly this may improve in future - but it's an unknown quantity. Waves was developed from scratch from the ground up to be a mass user platform. Included in this philosophy is the consumer grade ease of use and it's current standing as the Worlds Fastest Public Decentralised Blockchain Platform.

ERC20 and DAPPS - Waves has implemented it's own unique DAPPS and contracts ecosystem having learned a great deal from the position with Ethereum. There is no GAS or similar construct and the team at Waves really took their time with development of their on-chain computation system. Whilst, in the short term, fully Turing computation is not featured in the RIDE specification, the implementation is imminent and will be the most intuitive, secure and transparently costed computation available to date.

Ethereum does have the advantage of being first mover in this sphere - but then so was NCA Mosaic on the Web.

I wouldn't be surprise if Vitalik does join to a project developed by another Russian. Both  are successful  project anyway. The two  could work on and collaborate like having one regulatory system right now that can  identify which are scam projects  from now on.  Collaboration will always work to make things better.

I don't think it can be real. It is not easy thing that Vitalik left from Ethereum. Ethereum has born with Vitalik and it is part of him. If Vitalik left, Ethereum will go badly deep.

I don't think so and if Vitalik decide to leave Ethereum, he would rather create a brand new own project, instead of joining Waves.

Waves!! I don't think so, this is a pure FUD why would Vitalik join waves? First I think Vitalik is busy with Ethereum upgrade, second I see people cheers for Waves everywhere and yet I never saw any solid project running on Waves until this moment, there might be some good projects out there but I didn't see one, I like the development happening at Waves but do be honest I don't think they have a chance vs other projects in the same field.

I don't think so and if Vitalik decide to leave Ethereum, he would rather create a brand new own project, instead of joining Waves.

Previously, it was said that he would create a new project many times, but Vitalik once said he would try to develop Ethereum instead of creating a new project.

It could be possible, however he can join as the dev without leaving eth platform. Who said one person only can have one project? Since there's no limit, he can freely if he want to join Waves platform. It just after that, he had to work double and harder than before.

While I am not sure about the news and also not sure what's in Vitalik Buterin's mind but have you guys seen the Wave fork just after Ethereum Classic Vision?

They both are having fork in this month I guess and looking at the timing seems like Waves is following Ethereum.

I have not heard that Vitalik will join Waves in real terms. But if that happens I think it is part of his personal rights, even though he is a hero born to ethereum. So I hope this is only news that will not affect the current situation. I see ether starting to improve so far. Thank you for the news information that you shared.

I think it is just a rumor and if some scenario develops in future it will be a really funny situation for me and i think for most of the crypto community. I personally think that Vitalik is the face of Ethereum as a brand and i do not think he will want to quit eth.

These are all unconfirmed buzz. I am sure that the Buterin will not leave the ETH and will not go to the Waves team. it would be stupid from him

I think this is not true and a faked News! Why of all people like Vitalik Buterin known as Ethereum Founder is Mind to join in a competitor side like Waves its insane and very far from happening in reality I think its a kind of Fudding in attemp to discredit Buterin to bring negative chill on Ethereum Market. this was only my opinion about the said issue!
