In my observation, ETH's market capitalization is getting better. Maybe in the next few days, ETH will catch up and take the 2nd position occupied by XRP. What do you think about this? Please correct my opinion. Thank you in advance.

Because the core developers have created a lot of roadmap and the next hardfork will not give you any token and that will decrease the block reward of ethereum. that makes sense to see ether will be back to the second position as soon as possible.

Both are strong coins with huge supporters ready to invest more on, after the fork, we will see a new scenario either Eth will get their position back or XRP will retain, it's still for grabs.

It will happen, because ETH used to be on that position and something great development on the part of ETH that it makes more possible for ETH to be back. Give more days for this market and we will start to pump and aim for the best price this year. Definitely it is going to beat XRP in few days as the market capitalisation is getting better now. Continuous price fluctuation was the mainstream for the downfall of ETH but now it is slowly pumping and I strongly believe it will take its position of 2nd in few days for sure.

ETH has already captured the second spot now as per coinmarketcap. The battle between XRP and ETH is very interesting though. It is good for the investors though in my opinion as such incidents are covered by crypto news blogs thus pushing the prices up.

Well in my opinion, i would say Eth would surpass this is because of it's use case and also the acceptance of Eth is very high. Most people use it as a means of payment. With time the demand for Eth will increase and this will also increase the value .

ETH position in still under the Ripple if only seen from the coinmarketcap. but if seen from its utility, I think that ETH is more used for any transaction, trading or investing the other altcoins. The one who have more demands will overtake the one who have less demands. Ethereum is struggling to recover because it is always in decline and there are more holders than sellers. While ripple is looking good even the market is bloody it is overlap ethereum at rank #2. But once ethereum demands will be floody again it will rank up to rank #2 and ripple could fall to rank #3.

Almost all the cryptocurrencies have lost 85 percentage of its value from January 2018 to now so don't compare it again. I don't think ripple will take the place of ethereum now so you can invest on ethereum more than XRP.

I dont think so, Coinmarketcap ranking is not about the token or coin, it is about their price in the market and total market value.
Again this is all about the demand from the people all over the world as they are the one to dictate the market price.

Ethereum's market cap should place it squarely in second place if a recent report about XRP's circulating supply being over stated is correct and it should increase its lead a little due to the upcoming network upgrade which is expected to occur later this month so there shouldn't be any concern about it losing its leading position for now

Ethereum is by far the superior crypto compared to ripple.  Ripple isn't even decentralized, they have a revoke function just like EOS.  Eth has nearly 10x the daily trading volume of Ripple as well.  This doesn't mean that xrp wont pump in the future though, many shitcoins pump hard during bulruns.

Yes, competition between XRP and ETH has occurred since the end of 2018. At that time Ethereum had dropped to number 3 and was replaced by XRP coins. I will still choose Ethereum because most of the values of the ICO campaign are based on Ethereum. That is still higher than. And I still think of it as next to Bitcoin.
