I only use cmc at the moment to check prices and movements and volume etc but i will also have a look at forbescrypto as you mentioned. Cmc has been ok for me but i think they should also add new coins fast and also delete dead or fake coins regularly.

Why is your choice limited to these two websites? For me, more convenient to use is coingecko.

I prefer to use CMC for now. Not that I don't check out other sites too but CMC is much convenient for me and owing to the fact it's widely used. I will have to check out Forbescrypto and do a critical comparison.

I have never used ForbesCrypto because it looks damn ugly and out of date. Plus it's very difficult to perceive information there. CMC is much-much better so that's why it's much more useable. CMC has 78M of visits in December 2018 aginst 170K at forbescrypto according similarweb service.

I never heard about forbescrypto and I did not check now also. I think coinmarketcap is the best one because I find it easy interface. Also, as an alternative, I use coingecko which also helpful to track the market.

CMC is widely known and used by so many people and then that makes sense to pick CMC rather than forbes crypto. If you can create a polling which will you pick up as your choice between forbes and coingecko and coingecko will be picked up by a lot of people rather than forbes.

I still prefer coinmarketcap, I only have two sites open when I sit on the computer in the first five minutes, coinmarketcap and Bitcointalk, this ForbesCrypto is new and there are other sites like coinmarketcap, but I'm more comfortable using coinmarketcap than any other sites.

if I have to choose, I prefer CMC, because I think CMC is a complete and easy-to-see site, besides that I also don't know the website that you provide, I don't say relying on CMC but CMC is popular and many use it to view data coins or altcoins in the market.

I don't use ForbesCrypto, but sometimes it's useful enough to use coingecko.com to find some particular/new/small cap coins. For example there is a lot of hyip around grin project and it's still absent at CMC in contrast with coingecko.

It has more small cap coins avaliable, but i prefer the CMC design

Well I do use both. But Forbes crypto can never be compared to CMC. CMC is still the best in terms of features, updates etc. CMC even has Telegram bots that gives me day to day activities such as market updates, analysis, news and also teaches things to know about crypto such as crypto terms, how to protect ur crypto etc.

So they can never be compared in any way. Thanks

Cmc was indeed reliable than Forbes but I don't think we ought to compare the two company because they both different point of view and different perspectives. However, I believed Forbes crypto was created by crypto enthusiasts while CMC serves as the yellow page and capital place to spot genuine crypto currency.

CMC is like a gold standard and they are exploiting it lately in a bad manner with multiple ads per page, paid API, etc.

I suggest you to try: https://chainsage.com or https://nomics.com

CMC is more reliable when compare to Forbes Cryptos hat the reason may people using CMC when they want to check the prices of crypto currencies. But also they need to check the prices at respectice exchanges before trading because the prices varies many times.

Some of the best alternatives to CMC are here :

I check both for comparison purposes. In terms or reliability I still choose coinmarketcap because that's what most people use when it comes to updates with price, volume and rank of cryptos. Although there are instances where is does not show real time update but I still rely on it so much.

I never used ForbesCrypto before I don't even know that it exists. I always use CMC and then CoinGecko lately, CMC has some problems with some of the coins provided supply and circulation so I wouldn't rely on it 100% especially when it comes to small coins, I saw a lot of people recommended CoinGecko lately and that is why I started using it and it looks really good. I will give ForbesCrypto too a try since it is mentioned in this thread.

I found out now about forbescrypto, anyway, coinmarketcap was already more reliable and honest with the community! From the moment their focus is to show $50k volume each deal and discard large coins and projects for idleness, it means they are sold and do not want people to get in the train wagons in the beginning!

When you have a forest with lots of small trees its value is not calculated when all trees have matured in 100 years time.
The value of the parcel of land is of the number of usable trees now. CMC is shit, but still a thousand times better.

Edit; some good alternatives
athcoinindex (https://athcoinindex.com/)

Onchainfx (https://onchainfx.com/)

Cryptocompare (https://www.cryptocompare.com/)

Coincheckup (https://coincheckup.com/)

CMC is my first priority. Because in CMC, it is easy to check coins and Exchange's movement charts and you can research very well through Coinmarketcap! In CMC, you can check previous years data very transparently, and this is a very good tool for every trader.
After CMC Coingecko would be my first choice and then coincodex. Sorry, I never heard before about Forexcrypto!

It's CoinMarketCap (https://www.coinmarketcap.com) for me. It's my one #1 Spot for getting Crypto updates. As a trader, I'm more concerned about the price index across a host of exchanges for various altcoins and Coinmarketcap does just that and even more. I'm not in any way saying ForbesCrypto isn't good. It's just that, I'm not really a huge fan. ~ "I just like skipping to the best parts" ;)

CMC is more familiar and most of people don't know what forbes crypto is. Rather than it and i guess coingecko was more familiar in our community. People mostly used CMC as the main site to get the latest price and chart of crypto.

I never visited forbescrypto. Let's admit the fact that everyone relies on coinmarketcap if its about the data on the whole crypto market. Though it doesn't really cover ALL of the coins but they have majority of it. They have the most traffic that caters so people are visiting them and depending on their prices but there's a time that they have been glitched and that affected the market. Just think of that, with just a very simple glitch it affects the all market.

I do not totally trust marketcap sites. They might be very useful in some areas, but when it comes to the price of coins itself, I usually prefer to go directly to the exchange, because that is where the real trade is and that is where to get adequate information on the buy and sell order or market place.
I use CMC more and I am not that aware of ForbesCrypto.i

I think there would not be comparison with between the coinmarketcap and the ForbesCrypto, it is impossible. I believe that not too many people now about the ForbesCrypto. If you want to test the website usage, you should go to Alexa and find website traffic statistics. If you check the ForbesCrypto's global rank is "580,498" and the coinmarketcap's rank is "446". So there is a big cliff between this two websites..

Both sites should be fairly reliable but occasionally they can have technical issues so if the value or volume of a particular market appears to be incorrect, you can always double check it using other indexes such as Blockfolio or Coingecko

Many people accuse the inaccuracy in the information provided by the Coinmarketcap, but with such a large amount of information processed it is difficult to avoid small errors or inaccuracies. However, Coinmarketcap is the longest existing service of this type, so I am sure that it will remain a leader for a very long time.

Same here, coinmarketcap is THE site to look at for now. They've been doing it for years already. Exchanges rely on them as well to see if a coin has volume or not on other exchanges. They're APIs are being used by lots of crypto sites whether it is for the price or exchange rate. But one can always think of a site which can be better than CMC either better graphics, more info etc but CMC is the most well-known in the field. Just like BTC with ETH, BTC is still the king even if ETH has more things to offer due to more options but BTC is the oldest and the most well-known in the crypto world. So CMC it is for me at least for the time being.

Why does this matter? Market cap means really nothing. BTCs supply has many coins that are lost but it’s really uncertain whether they will be recovered or maybe the owners just haven’t done anything with them yet. Ripple’s xrp is in Escrow and released periodically and is certain. These xrp don’t affect the price since they aren’t affecting supply and demand. Ideally circulating supply for btc would only count non lost mined coins and xrp’s CS would be all xrp not in escrow by Ripple. They are two different types of cryptos. Mined and pre-mined. With BTC, immediately when mined they have the ability to sell. A pre-mined coin can sell one of its pre-mined coins and market cap would be greatly over valued based off one sale. There is no way to evenly evaluate a market cap for cryptos at this time. Thus, it’s on the users to understand how many coins there are, where they’re being held, the probability they will be used, and when they be used. So just like everything in this space, DYOR and understand it instead of complaining that other people/companies aren’t doing what you want them to do.

I think if you follow the cryptocurrency, then you should look at the entire market. Because sometimes the news may be different or go faster. So I use all possible tools for work.

Which one do you think is more reliable, CMC or ForbesCrypto?
I would say CMC

After the expose that coinmarketcap is showing fake volumes I have to get another option and coingecko is one of this but there's no difference in their volume and that made think that both exchanges could be manipulating it, Coinmarketcap announced that there will be changes in their metric, hopefully, what we are seeing now is the right one.

I don't know about ForbesCrypto because this is my first time to hear. So far, I use CMC only, and I don't too often to use or find some info on that site. But still, CMC working fine for me and I didn't have a problem when I used.

When I try to visit FC, I have a bit confuse to find the list of cryptocurrency, and I need to click one by one the links. But in CMC, when I visit on the homepage, I am easy to get the cryptocurrency list because it shows on the main page.

today, many governments try to compare cryptocurrency not with foreign currency assets, but with numbers of securities. In any case, this provides a real opportunity for the development of a cryptocurrency market. But what can Forest give for cryptocurrency? Given the certain knowledge about the manipulation among the traders of this resource, I worry that they can cause harm to the cryptocurrency market if certain actions are taken. Maybe I'm wrong.

I am always using coinmarketcap, because it is one of the most user friendly websites, where you can always track what is going on in the crypto world. However, such a huge website has a big influence on the whole industry. I can remember they had a bag that made every crypto to raise for 1000 percent for several minutes and this caused a small pump.

CMC is so simple and that's why a lot of people are interesting in using it. Forbescrypto is a new marketcap site but there are some improvements on it. But remember we have a lot of marketcap sites like coingecko and any other site but they are offering the same thing.
