Title: Need opinions about few fake ICO who have listed on Dex or worst C-ex
Post by: The Cryptovator on January 18, 2019, 06:56:09 PM
Besides of DTtalk, I want to change topic. Since there are lot of DT, so I want to know some opinion about few ICO's. Also opinions from reputed members are welcome,

I don't some one noticed or not but I have noticed few of ICO with fake team/plagiarized content has listed on Dex and few worst C-Ex, although we have exposed them. I will pick one of them from my Exposed scam ICO list (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053066.0).

For example BITCOINMAX (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4982048.msg44944209#msg44944209), you can see there is enough evidence for fake activity. But seems they have listed on TokenStore (https://token.store/trade/BMAX)(not loading to me) and Etherflyer (https://www.etherflyer.com/trade.html?pairs=BMAX-ETH) with zero volume. Current price 0.0000000089 ETH and last ICO price was 1 BMAX=0.000003 ETH. I am not sure how many % lower from ICO price. Also not listed on CMC.

I can't remember now but somewhere I saw they are talking we are got listed on exchange bla bla...........
Above one is just example, there many more like this case. Listed on Dex then skip. As far as I know listed on Dex is free. Even few of them ask for fee, I don't think it will be more then 0.5 ETH. But they just skip with fund after end of ICO. Problem is they called themselves legit due to listed on Dex even there is zero volume.

So what is your opinions on similar case? Are they legit ?

My opinions,
Still they are exit scammer in my eye. Just listed on Dex or somewhere on C-Ex with zero volume or low volume doesn't mean they are legit. Reality is they listed on Dex during ICO and people's thought they are legit and invest on it. Eventually they got scam.

Coins/tokens listing on exchange doesn't disprove the fact they're scam project. Take Bitconnect as an example, it was listed on even major exchange and had a rank of Top20 at some point on coinmarketcap. So these scam coins listing on exchange doesn't change the fact they're scam.  It's crypto bro,  people will trade anything. One of the exchange listing this scam tokens especially those that did selfdrop is mercatox.

Beside on most DEX you can trade tokens without official listing on the platform so a token trading on DEX shouldn't deserve you it's legitimate

Some people don’t take much effort to study the coin before they trade, because they want to join the hype and whenever there’s a hype on a specific coin, there’s profit. Just like the other coins, who failed to deliver a real project.

Coins/tokens listing on exchange doesn't disprove the fact they're scam project.
Well said! Some exchanges are also making a fake volume on that coin to deceive people. Its good to create a thread lke this to make people more aware about the fake coins who are already listed to scam more people later on.

Adding to this,  @Coolcryptovator since you're good at busting this scam project it'll be great to make a thread on list of already exposed scam icos trading on exchange. You can combine your list with other users doing the same busting ICO scam stuffs. What do you think?

Hey dude i think its not a concern of yours. You have already done your job by revealing their scam face infront of everyone. If still any investor put their fund on that and participate tokensale that will be on their own risk. You done your part now its their choice to pick.

Lets come to the other part of listing issue. If any exchange list those project ignoring bitcointalk ANN where it suspect with scam evidence than its their fault to give a asset to their traders to trade. Hopefully this kind of listing will not  continue long time. That day isn't too far when their traders will leave their exchange too.

I like this idea pretty much, but I'm not pushing anyone to do it either. First of all, investor/trader whatever you called it should do their own due diligence in the first place, and I'm pretty sure low volume/low price will eventually make them sell the tokens.  But of course if somebody did this (I could do it if I have time) then it's great.

A Decentralized Exchange is basically based on a smart contract that interact with the project's smart contract functions regardless of the legitimacy of the project itself.
Any holder of the coin, by adding the project's contract address, can create an order and wait for it to be filled.

We usually see traders offering to sell their tokens at low prices to stop their losses.
New DEXs owners don't care, they want to attract more traders.

Exactly.. You did your part and don't feel guilty if people are making bad choice neglecting your warning.

Most of the new exchanges don't check projects and allow on their platform over a fee in order to get some user base. By welcoming some scam coins to be traded over their platform , they are also welcoming them to dent their reputation as well.

As for the project, I also think it is likely a scam as IMO legit projects don't have to hide their identity or plagarize other's work.
