Title: poker staking and backing with crypto
Post by: QuadsPoker on January 20, 2019, 11:55:36 AM
I have been in the poker scene for quit some years. I have been playing online and live for quit some years. Beside playing myself I put some money in staking and backing other players as well. I found this lots of fun. Putting a couple $$$ in a player and then see him running deep in one of the tournaments.

During the years I staked players I was in a stake when one of my players hit final tables of a couple online majors like the pokerstars Sunday million, Sunday warmup and several others.

But I noticed lately that there are not so many platforms where players can offer their action. One of my favourites I used was chipmeup.com. Back in the days there was some highroll players like Chris moneymaker offering there action on that site. But for some reason when I look at the chipmeup site now (it is still running) I see very few backers and players online. On a weekend they mostly have 25 to 50 players and backers online.

So now my question. Would it be attractive for the crypto community if there was a platform where they can back or stake players on the biggest online poker rooms by using crypto?

Sounds like a reasonable form of project and plenty of people still want to 'invest' in crypto and turn over money with the idea of gaining from involvement in a site or idea.  I'm always reading threads from people asking for potential viable deposits for profit.
Your idea sounds reasonable, it reminds me of a TV program I used to watch about a big player called 'devilfish'  I think he would back and sponsor young talent he found with the hopes of some guidance they could become regular winners in Poker

I personally prefer playing poker myself, and I wouldn't back other players because I don't need someone was doing "the job" for me. I wouldn't accept money from other people either, because I know I can lose and I don't want to disappoint anyone.

But still, creating such a platform may be a good idea. Playing in many poker tournaments I've noticed that frequently there are same players making it to the finals, so probably they are worth staking. Basically, it would be something similar to playing with auto bet, but with improved chances of winning. Some gamblers could go for that, I think.
