This is great to see, by the looks of the machine they use it is

Yes you are right but is not enough to make our journey more powerful we need some more development in the ATMs also and it takes some times but it happened then Bitcoin will made so simple to user friendly and easy to use from all over the world.

that's a good start already. with more and more ATMs coming up, means more and more people are becoming aware of the bitcoin existence and how to deal with it. later on, they will realize that it's so easy and straightforward using crypto. there's always the bottleneck phase. but once we overcome such phase, the bitcoin demand will rise!

Seeing ATMs popping up is one thing, getting people to actually use it is another. Usually, these ATMs put up an exorbitant transaction fee for anyone who use their machines, and for most people this might sound like a go-to when they need cash or bitcoins, but once they found out that it charges crazy high fees, they might just ignore it. Cool! With ATMs gradually starting to appear, this already says a lot. True, it will be unusual for people to use their services, although many of them will stand in queues because of interest. Although many people do not want to advertise that they own Bitcoin, so these ATMs are not for them.

It's easy to just sign up for an exchange and buy crypto that way, Then you won't be charged ridiculous fees like these ATMs.  But I guess if this helps more people to get into crypto I guess I'm in favor of it.  I still haven't used one of these myself and most likely never will unless its an emergency.

There are many ATM machines and cash kiosks around the world and you can find over 2500 bitcoin ATM in US alone and it is a good initiative but the main problem is the transaction and other charges if you are using them is really high, if that is sorted out then it is a great idea to use those facilities, if i have a better opportunity to purchase or sell bitcoin without those charges i will readily look for those sources rather than spending higher fees through these ATM facilities, i hope in the future these prices will be dropped as more users start using it.

This happened in Banglore, India and the ATM was installed by Unocoin exchange and they got arrested. Not sure what is the situation is right now.

But the thing is what is the point of popping up of this machine for bitcoin is the charge fee for transaction is high. I think I would agree with you on this. Bitcoin ATM to me is not in any way appealing because of the cost that would be attached to doing a transaction whether its to buying or selling where there are several alternatives that have been made available by the peer to peer sites where you could actually trade with human beings and you could actually forge a real relationship. Another concern is the fact that its going to be a centralized form of exchange which personally is giving powers to some set of individuals to decide the situation of things.

Even though in our country the government has not legalized Bitcoin but there are about 3 places available for Bitcoin ATM machines. The location is in Bali Indonesia. But the ATM machine only provides Purchase only.

Maybe it can be used as a promotion category to attract many people to be interested in using bitcoin.

A person's prejudice towards bitcoin is a scam, unreal, and even many who think that bitcoin is an illusion.

Do you mean you can only Buy Bitcoins and you cannot make any deposits? I guess thats the usual function of ATM's, to dispense Money or in this case Bitcoins. If you plan to make a deposit to your BTC wallet then use a computer to make a more secure transaction. Furthermore, how are they able to set up a Bitcoin ATM if the government did not legalize use of Bitcoins in your country? How did they apply for business permits to install that ATM in Bali?

Wow this is great news. Never wondered that a company would really sell bitcoin in a grocery store. So is it used for purchasing goods in the grocery store too?

This is one of the big indications that Bitcoin gets more main stream. The ATM gets placed because someone asked for it. This is what matters, that there is demand for Bitcoin and for crypto in general. If people ask for this, then I am sure the rest will come. Crypto adoption will come.

It's a great start to let people know the existence of bitcoin. As more ATMs are being installed in different places, it will increase the curiosity of people and they might start to take interest about bitcoin.

Good for your country. Here in the Philippines, there is already a bitcoin atm also. Yup! You heard it right, bitcoin atm, which means it is only one ;D (AFAIK). I don't know if I will get proud or embarrassed about it but nonetheless an improvement is still an improvement. I hope there will be more btc atms to come in the future.
Probably because he is not authorized of doing so or probably did shady stuffs there like putiing devices/program for getting copies of the passwords inputed by the victims there.

I think sometimes the reason is that people decided to start this business during the 2017 bubble, but the documentation, legalwork and other preparatory measures took so long that the ATM-s are just now popping up - but I do hope they get used regardless.

If the casino's were to accept bitcoins then that would be major news. So far it is just online casino's but hopefully one day actual bitcoin casino's will let you win x amount of coin and to gamble it as well

I also see more and more news in that perspecrtive, it is one of the best way to promote BTC and crypto. Generalisation is a key towards general acceptance and I'm waiting for the first in France !!

It is important to notice that more countries have kept them engaged into the process of regulating cryptocurrencies. This is a good news for bitcoin. Along with the same CBOE have once again got into the ETF approval submission. These factors indicate the growth of cryptocurrency all around the world. When the growth progress automatically, more ATMs gets popping up supporting the community.

From my perspective Bitcoin ATMs are not so popular anymore. At least not in my country. Year or two ago they were appearing all the time but recently there are no new ones and existing are not so popular. I think that Bitcoin users are having multiple choices how to buy or sell Bitcoin on more convenient way. So having a Bitcoin ATM today is not so lucrative business anymore.

I didn't even know that there is bitcoin atm here in my country until I've searched it. Well, others may see bitcoin atm helpful for them because it is fast, especially if you’re going to transact BTC to fiat. But for me, I don't use bitcoin atm to transact. It's more hassle for me coz you have to know where the bitcoin atm is located. So yeah, it's not that lucrative anymore.

Actually this is true and yesterday I received a map of Austria ATM's and there are over 100 so imagine how much bitcoin is prospering there. I think also that Poland has lot of ATM's and Romania has some of them too and I'm sure more countries will follow this example and install bitcoin ATM's.

As for now i have zero chances for any bitcoin atm installed in my country middle east Europe and zero chances for merchant accept bitcoin
One or two atm in some countries is not making any change it is nothing at all
Few bitcoin atm in any town  can make change

Ah, but Bali's more tourist than locals... and makes me wonder why it's only for purchase. This day and age 2-way atms are the way to go. Real strange though, I'd be interested to know what kind of volumes it does. Bali accepts dollars and euros as easily as they do rupiah, least that was true on my last visit 10 years ago. Any BTC accepting merchs there?

Malaysia had at least 2 ATMs installed years ago. Hip and trendy places too (just outside Kuala Lumpur in those so-called satellite cities, Bangsar being one). They just fell into disrepair.

Was as high as 5 ATMs daily globally, now barely 4. Still a lot I guess. I still don't see how people would ever buy/sell with such high rates. I suppose the high limits before KYC triggers is still some incentive for anonymity. But then you gotta deposit that cash anyway and where I live, depositing cash makes the bank very suspicious. Fact, my bank's even started to charge from this month for cash depos.

One of the benefit of Bitcoin ATM is that with this people will become aware of bitcoins. Since Bitcoin ATM will be placed in a public place and those who do not know about bitcoin will try to figure out what is this and this will increase the usability and awareness of bitcoins and many new people will come and invest in bitcoins.

We have here in our country a bank that can encash or automatically converted our bitcoin into fiat, we can instantly withdraw our bitcoin through that ATM machine with that bank after we transact in online for encashment. It is only one bank that has a cardless transaction, but if we have an account to other banks we can also transfer our bitcoin to our account and will also automatically converted into fiat.

I honestly though that these Bitcoin ATM's wouldn't live very long and that they wouldn't be half as popular. I doubted that anyone would use them since it isn't profitable to anyone except the person who owns the ATM. Surprisingly, the ATM's are adopted very largely, they are present even in the poorer countries and even in big cities of the world. It contributes great to the whole Bitcoin community.

In Russia, bitcoin ATM are also installed. They began to appear in many countries. This is a good step in the development of crypto, but so far few people will use them, I believe. But to know that the world has a positive attitude to crypto is very cool.

Yeah i've seen posts in social media of people who are actually using bitcoin atms and it's really promising. Though of course this would work in places where people and governments are open to crypto. But it's nice to think that someday in the future we'd see btc atms lining up streets like regular atms.

Out of curiosity are they being installed in major commercial places like malls and shopping centers?

it's very fun because we can use our Bitcoin to shop if we are on the go or want to shop, and in that place do not accept Bitcoin as a transaction tool. Unfortunately at my place there is no ATM Bitcoin, so we need a Bitcoin exchange service to fiat Money if we want to shop. and it is sometimes constrained by long periods of time and weak internet networks.

Here in the Philippines there is also a Bitcoin ATM, located around Metro Manila, I went there and I was amazed, never expected that there would actually be a BTC ATM here in Philippines, hopefully soon enough BTC ATM's would expand, though I can see that in the next few years ATMs would appear more on different cities for sure, this is the first Bitcoin ATM in Philippines.

You should check google they provide all the areas near you that have Bitcoin ATM's near you I live in Northern Ireland and we only have on in Belfast 75 miles away from me. They are there but few and far between ;)

that is very good news, for the continuation of the crypto world for the whole world, maybe a few years ahead of countries that prohibit the use of btc for trade will legalize, because of the technological influence of the blockchain and also because of the encouragement of the crypto community, especially bitcoin

this is the progress of bitcoin technology. indeed of course the longer the bitcoin must have its own ATM. because the longer the bitcoin is more and more interested and they sometimes have difficulty in making transactions. so for me the existence of this atm machine makes it easy for us to make transactions.

As Bitcoin is legal in USA and Las Vegas which is a very rich and expensive place was part of the country then it is necessary to have these kind of ATM so that Bitcoin holders can conveniently do transactions for their fiat expenses but i think most of the establishments of this place are now accepting Bitcoin therefore these ATM are just additional support to address the everyday volume of crypto transactions.

Yes, it can also help but not all people will get interested in that because of bitcoin ATM. Not all people in our country will get interested but it can help in some way, so maybe having bitcoin ATM can increase the use of cryptocurrency and it will also have an effect to the market because of the additional use of it.

That's a good news. In India, a cryptocurrency exchange company installed India's first Bitcoin ATM in a mall in Bengaluru. But, government shut it down and arrested Unocoin's co-founder. This happened after RBI prohibited financial institution from dealing in cryptocurrencies and the government considered
BTC as not a legal tender. This is why the installation of ATM went wrong. Moreover, medias fueled the predicament into another level. However, it was India's first BTC ATM.

Its not new to us here in the Philippines, we already have that years ago. Although i have never seen nor withdraw from the ATM machine, ever since i came to know bitcoin ive been using other much more secured ways for me to withdraw my money than going there having to think if its safe or not.

they are even prevalent these days. They are available in over 77 countries and counting. Pretty soon it going to be accessible from every part of the world

Yes this is absolutely true and we are very happy seeing this development. It goes to show people are beginning to see the importance and benefits of cryptocurrency usage and are beginning to accept and adopt its use. I believe in time coming, we will see more Bitcoin ATMs pop up in more countries.

For example, in my country, Croatia, we got first btc ATM 2-3 years ago, I think, in the city center (Zagreb) but recently we got 2 more btc aTM, one in other city so btc atm's are spreading here.

Totally different from what is currently happening in my country. Some other countries around us have archived this over 3-4 years back but we are yet to have one install. Hopefully to see more of these ATM's machine be install in the nearest future.

This is a very positive news that has happened with the number of atm bitcoin popping up, indicating that bitcoin has begun to be recognized and trusted. but I doubt that atm bitcoin can solve the problem of transactions that will be carried out, clearly there are costs that must be incurred and will be different from the transactions that we have often done, maybe it will be bigger.
but for me bitcoin atm is not too important because I am more happy with the existing system and can be trusted.

The only bad side is that it hasn't really spread far and wide, it's still only in few areas you can find one or two, I think with time and with more machines it'll reflect in bitcoin adoption and acceptability

Just like on my place there are already some Bitcoin ATM's as of this moment but it doesnt mean that overall banking sector do already legalized cypto on my place.
They are various Banks which do still on neutral side or shall we say they are just still on observing state.

It has not spread so far and to a more variety of countries just because of policies being used. There are some measurements that have to be be taken in first place before jumping into these implementations.
Banks need to update their softwares in order to provide such currency exchanges. Which is not an easy step like snapping your fingers.

Bitcoin ATM's are not something new since they have been existing since 2013 when first bitcoin ATM was opened. But in the last months, especially in the middle on 2018 they started to get more popular. Right now according to some statistics I found there are around 4400 bitcoin ATM's existing in the world and you can't say that's little. Of course, when we take in consideration there are hundreds of cities where people use bitcoin this number seems low but still I consider there are quite a few of them out there and its not that hard to find one that's near you.

In my country, bitcoin atm has also appeared, the number is similar as your country but instead of every bitcoin user can use bitcoin atm easily, my government has prevented it and said that using bitcoin is illegal and bitcoin ATM has been abandoned until now, no one dares to use it. ​​Dubai's first bitcoin ATM installed at Rixos Premium on JBR

Dubai residents and tourists can now buy Bitcoin through an ATM using just cash.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the UAE's first ATM that dispenses bitcoin is at the five-star Rixos Premium Dubai Hotel at JBR.

Buyers need present no documentation other than cash to buy bitcoin instantly. Customers will need need an Emirates ID or passport to sell the digital currency later, according to Anhad Dhingra, CEO, Amhora, which holds the licence for the ATM.


“At this kiosk, you just insert cash and you get Bitcoins instantly. It is possible to purchase Bitcoins through banking platforms and debit cards already but since we accept cash, it is very different. This is the first commercial Bitcoin kiosk in the city,” Dhingra was quoted by the report to say.

Dhingra’s ATM has been licensed by Dubai’s Department of Economic Development. There is a five percent commission on the total purchase for buying bitcoin through the ATM which transacts the currency in real-time exchange rates.

Maybe its better that the crypto ATM from banks must be spread than bitcoin ATM because this only offers single coin than crypto atm can provide many cryptocurrencies
No wonder that gamblers will be more interesting in withdrawals as they can use all the crypto assets than single coin

This is just a symbol or a sign that the Bitcoin is clearly but slowly being adopted in the system. Though, This ATMs are only available (as far as I know) on countries in which Bitcoin is legally accepted. Nevertheless, This year seems to creating a good implication to what Bitcoin could be on the future, aside to the recent fall of rates. Hoping that this is a good start for the advancement of the Crypto world.

There are similar bitcoin ATMs here in the Philippines yet people seldom utilize them. I guess the problem revolves around the distribution of each ATMs as there are currently around two (2) working ATMs across the country. Given that the reputation of cryptocurrencies in the Philippines are still increasing, this implementation is bigger than we thought.

The only problem that people experience, like you said, are the transaction fees. I've known people who actually used the ATMs and they complained that the transaction fees are indeed, too high. Our local exchange platform offers various services and options and it is much more convenient than going to an ATM and withdrawing your bitcoins by converting them to fiat. Hopefully this problem gets addressed soon.

Bitcoin ATM has been in use in some countries and cities now, though in low supply. Only south Africa can pride themselves of having few bitcoin ATM terminals in the entire African continent. To increase the adoption of bitcoin and cryptocurrency in its entirety, africa needs to get as many bitcoin ATMs as possible, especially, Nigeria- the most populous black country.

It's a sign that Bitcoin is starting to gain ground in areas where Bitcoin ATMs are installed. In my country with over 7,100 islands, unfortunately there's only 2 Bitcoin ATMs. I am not expecting ATMs all over our country of course but just by looking at the ratio of 2 ATMs with 7,100 islands, our country still have a long way to go in embracing Bitcoin.

I have a feeling that huge casinos and gambling place will place a lot of bitcoin ATMs in the future. I'm seeing the benefits of what they can get with that because imagine those bigtime gamblers who does not need to withdraw from banks or make a long transaction before they can play again. Instead, they can just transfer their btc on that atm to withdraw fiat again.

Actually, Bitcoin ATM (Automated Teller Machine) is not new. A number of them are already installed in selected countries all over the world. There were already Bitcoin ATMs a few years ago. The number is of course increasing as Bitcoin is gaining adoption day after day. The good thing here is that some of these ATMs are not owned by crypto companies. Before, Bitcoin ATMs are owned by them. I am elated to know that the banks, at least in my country, are also joining the party and installed their own versions of Bitcoin ATMs, or crypto ATMs to be exact because they are also catering to altcoins such as ETH and LTC.

You can travel to the big box and overpay for digital coins or someone will build an app where buyers and sellers can easily meet to exchange money for items near them in a community.

It's silly they want these boxes to take peoples dollar bills when the stores they are located in already have cash registers and staff. The person at the counter can take money and enter the amount of bitcoin to transfer the person... the fee could be lowered without the bulky box there to take the fiat.

Sure. It,s actually a great way of earning some good amount of Fiat currency, by offering a trading facility to users.

While running own ATM, the owner can earn good amount of profit in market volatility. Still, it's a completely new idea, but soon will be accepted by many private and/or corporate vendors by investing own money.

Not in my country. Few years ago Bitcoin ATMs were very popular and there were some Bitcoin enthusiasts who engaded for that so few ATMs popped up in very short time in different part of country. But then that stopped, no new Bitcoin ATMs recently and it seams that people don't actually use them. They have variety of different options to buy or sell Bitcoin without need to leave their house and go somwhere.
